I would also like to welcome you to Wikipedia:WikiProject Formula One! Lradrama 14:20, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Hi Eddie6705. Just want so say thanks for helping out on the formula 1 race reports! I'm glad you like the to-do list that I came up with; I figured we need some way to keep track of what has been verified so you don't waste time checking accurate tables :) Happy editing and keep up the good work! Bobby Doorknobs 17:02, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- No I don't mind at all (it's not like I own these things) I'm just a bit surprised that people are picking up on this so quickly. Great :) I am planning to use this to-do list in reviewing and rating all those old race reports and I had put them in 1999 just to see what would happen. Bobby Doorknobs 18:19, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Re: Image Usage
I've extended the image's fair use claim to include the 1997 Australian Grand Prix, so you should be able to add it to the article without any problem. Thanks for telling me in advance, as this WikiProject has had problems with incorrectly-licensed images before!--Diniz (talk) 09:53, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Panis97Arg.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Panis97Arg.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 13:16, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Your edit to United States Grand Prix
In your edit to the United States Grand Prix article, you added that the sponsor of the USGP from 89-91 was something called Iceberg. That link links to the article about floating ice, which is clearly not the sponsor. Could you be referring to some company or commercial product with that or a similar name? --rogerd 15:47, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah i was refering to a company but i can't seem to find a relevant company, so i simply called it iceberg company. Eddie6705 16:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Don't mean to be intrusive but I think it's the Iceberg fashion company, see iceberg.com; the letters in the logo look the same as back then. Can't find anything about it on Wikipedia though. Bobby Doorknobs 16:54, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oh ok thanx Bobby. Eddie6705 16:59, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Removal of car numbers
Hi Eddie6705. I noticed you removed the "Car No" columns from the results tables in 1951 Swiss Grand Prix and 1951 Indianapolis 500. Can I ask why? DH85868993 01:56, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, i misinterpreted the request to remove car numbers from the driver's championship table. I thought i tmeant from each race. I will remove them from the table on the season page instead (is that correct?). Eddie6705 10:03, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it's correct to remove them from the table on the season page. No harm done - at least you'd only done two! DH85868993 10:25, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Tyre Timeline
Hi, I noticed you've started a F1 tyre timeline which I think will be a great addition to the article. However at the moment it's still a WIP and is factually inaccurate (perhaps that's sounds harsher than it is, I don't mean offence just that the data is too general so, for example, periods of GoodYear exclusivity in the mid 90's are shown to have been run alongside Bridgestone.) Can I request you move it to your personal sandbox to work on it and then put it back in the article when done. If you haven't created a sandbox yet (basically a place to develop things and work on them without them being live on the article) click here to start one. Thanks, AlexJ 17:38, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Have moved the timeline out of the article. I would have split up each tyre brand's bar into differetn sections, showing when they were in and out of F1, but i don't know how do this. Eddie6705 18:48, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
I made it anyway so it didn't matter about the link. Eddie6705 23:11, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem, I kinda hoped tagging it as minor wouldn't alert you to a new message but seemingly that's not how the system works. Anyway I've managed to get it to show broken bars to show when they took part, have a look at User:AlexJ/Sandbox3. I think the colours might need adjusting but it seems to be coming along good. AlexJ 23:34, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah that looks good. i'm not sure whether to make a key or to leave the names next to the bars like they are now. what do you think?. Eddie6705 02:03, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
The names over the bars causes problems with some of the shorter ones like Conti, which are totally covered by the name. A key would be one solution or alternatively moving the names so they are on the left of the graph. Not sure how to do that but I'll try and find out. AlexJ 13:29, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
I agree the names make it look messy, i think a key should be used, i'll try and find out how to do that as well. Eddie6705 19:32, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

2011 F1 Season
Yeah that looks good. I'd be inclined not to bother referencing them at the moment though because the future of the articles is uncertain so any work might be lost if it's decided to merge them with the future of F1 article. AlexJ 19:14, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- The way it tends to work is that the topic is discussed to try and get consensus rather than a pure vote where only the numbers matter. If the debate is heading towards merge then someone will do so and if no-one objects/reverts it then it's assumed consensus was reached. AlexJ 19:26, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
sandbox category
Hi Eddie6705. Any chance you could comment out the Category:Formula One tag in your Sandbox2 page until the page is ready to go live? Thanks. DH85868993 10:38, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Sure, sorry! Eddie6705 13:54, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Addition of categories and DEFAULTSORT
Hi Eddie. I notice you've been helping out with the task of adding "Category:<country> racecar driver" and the DEFAULTSORT magic word to the F1 driver articles. Thanks! I see that when you've been adding DEFAULTSORT, you haven't been removing matching sort keys for existing categories. I wasn't sure whether this was considered necessary, so I asked at the Help Desk and the suggestion there was that it is a good idea to remove matching existing sort keys when adding DEFAULTSORT. I've removed them for the F1 driver articles you edited earlier today. DH85868993 14:23, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- The changes you've been making since Al Herman have been fine. Thanks! DH85868993 02:52, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the good work you are doing with adding categories and DEFAULTSORT to the F1 driver articles. When you're editing the categories, it would be great if you could add "Category:<year> births" and "Category:<year> deaths" or "Category:Living people" to any articles which are missing them. Thanks. DH85868993 14:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
(The short: This image doesn't pass fair use, so I'm sorry but I'm going to have to put it through the deletion process.)
Hi Eddie,
It is great you are contributing to F1 articles now, and I wanted to be the latest to welcome you.
I did, however, want to discuss your recently uploaded image of Panis for the '97 Argentine Grand Prix article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Panis97Arg.jpg.
The image doesn't pass fair use for the Argentinian Grand Prix because it doesn't really show anything spectacular from the race action. We also already have an image of Panis racing, so it doesn't really fit on Wikipedia.
Sorry that this contribution didn't work out, but looking at your others it looks like you are going to make a good contributor on Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me. Guroadrunner 08:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Drivers Number Removal
Re: "do you think eventually all of the drivers championships tables from 1950-1962 seasons should be in the more detailed style like the 1963 Formula One season?"
- Yes. It's just a matter of somebody getting around to doing it. Cheers. DH85868993 01:10, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi... I'm not certain what this article is intended to do. Wikipedia isn't a news source, so a constantly-updated points list is not really appropriate, though it might well be once the list is final. However, the main problem is the title - it's much too vague. Lots of sports, and lots of seasons, have points lists, so something much more specific is needed - could you consider moving it to something more specific, please? GAReview of Oxford United F.C.
I responded to your comments on my talk page in the same place. But I wasn't sure if you'd noticed them or not. Just to let you know that as per the references issue, I've done a quick tidy of the page myself, which the GA rules seem to allow without prejudice.
I'm going to have a closer look at the article later today (possibly not until tonight; we're busy in my office right now) and let you know if there's anything else. It's more or less OK, but while checking the refs I noticed a couple more small copyediting issues which need tweaked. --DeLarge 11:27, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've updated the "hold" notice on the GA nominee page, but I noticed you haven't made edits to the article in a few days. Are you OK for me to give it a final once over (later this evening)? --DeLarge 13:30, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Eddie, Yeah I think they forgot to add us to the list that VP users after doing a little research. I have left a few reminder messages in a couple of places so hopefully it will be sorted soon, I can't wait to try it. Cheers DoyleyTalk 18:16, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Golf
Hi Eddie6705/Archive 1
I thought that a way to further improve the golf articles on Wikipedia is for the whole project to work together towards a goal. An example of this could be a certain number of good articles in so many months, or to create the project's first ever featured article. If you are interested, come to the talk page and discuss it. And hopefully through this the project can continue to work towards several goals in the near future.

2008 Formula One season
That User:86.134.134.149 is continuing to edit the 2008 Formula One season article introducing people who tested once as signed testdrivers, and I'm at the limit of 3RR. I hate things sometimes. mattbuck 13:46, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Template:Football League Cup winners
Hi there, i have created a discussion regarding this template on the WikiProject football talk page. It is a bit large for my liking and i wonder about whether it is really neccessary. Your comments would be appreciated. I am also wondering about the meaning of the edit summaries: temp? Do you need help developing the template? Thanks. Woodym555 19:39, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
OUFC fair use
You've got to check the wording in the template, specifically:
This tag is meaningless without an accompanying fair use rationale which must be unique to the usage of THIS image in each article in which it is used. You must also give the source and copyright information for all fair-use images uploaded.
So you need to state which article the fair use rationale is for, in this case Oxford United F.C. (it has to be named precisely) and you must provide source and copyright information. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:33, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
European Tour template
Thanks for the update, I was lazy about it and then I forgot. After pumping out the 2008 schedule on the main page I pushed it to the back of my memory, hehe. michfan2123 (talk) 20:44, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- They do, we have been a bit slow on that. michfan2123 (talk) 14:27, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
You are adding the template the wrong way. It should be Former European Tour Events with a capital E on the Events. It is showing up as a red link on every page you add it to. Thought I should give you a heads up. michfan2123 (talk) 17:52, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yup and thanks for making the template. I was working on this earlier, what do you think? michfan2123 (talk) 17:57, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
I can't find anything. I am going to add summaries for each day as well. michfan2123 (talk) 18:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I guess but I don't know how easy it would be to find the information. michfan2123 (talk) 18:15, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Portrait 1997.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Portrait 1997.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:46, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Taskforce
Yeah, because it's based on activity level to some degree, I believe. I'd find a good place to hold the discussion, and then start leaving messages on different talk pages (i.e. The Scrubs main article, any daughter articles, the Telvision Project page, etc etc) to try and bring in the most responses. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 18:58, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- I guess it really doesn't matter so long as you let as many pages know as possible. They can all click a link to the specific discussion location. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 19:49, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
