Replaceable fair use File:TRON Lightcycle Promotional Image.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:TRON Lightcycle Promotional Image.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 11:13, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

Precedent and WP:FANCRUFT

Make sure that you look at good articles as precedents, not crappy fancrufty ones, to inspire your editing. Note that none of the WP:Featured articles lists "current Wikipedia:WikiProject Musical Theatre/Article Structure", because it is not encyclopedic to do so. You should aspire to increase the quality of our articles, not to introduce WP:FANCRUFT. In a couple of years, perhaps you will have gained some wisdom and perspective. -- Ssilvers (talk) 06:52, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

@Ssilvers: I was just looking at the first two shows that popped into my head. Elisfkc (talk) 07:01, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Again, there are NO WP:Featured Articles with this column, because it is not encyclopedic. Only recent shows with excited fans have it. If you want to see an excellent precedent, see Carousel (musical) or South Pacific (musical). Another good choice is Hair (musical). In these you will see a description of the creation, development, production and subsequent productions of the show, critical and popular reaction, analysis of the scores and libretti, and a minimum of listy cruft. See the WP:MUSICALS project's article structure guidelines. Also, Wikipedia is not supposed to be promotional. See WP:PROMO. -- Ssilvers (talk) 07:11, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
@Ssilvers: None of those shows are still playing. I'm bringing up this question on the musical theater project talk page, to see look for more input. Elisfkc (talk) 18:25, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

File:Disney Junior Entrance.jpg

Elisfkc, because File:Disney Junior Entrance.jpg carries a non-free license, it is required of you to add a fair use rationale as well. {{di-no fair use rationale}} was added to its description page for this reason. Please utilize {{Non-free use rationale}} and fill out the required fields. Thanks. — ξxplicit 01:35, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Just because you created pages, doesn't mean you are the owner

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Ownership_of_content

All Wikipedia content − articles, categories, templates, and other types of pages − is edited collaboratively. No one, no matter how skilled, or how high standing in the community, has the right to act as though they are the owner of a particular page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hawkeye75 (talkcontribs) 07:56, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

@Hawkeye75: Thank you. I understand that, which is why it says on my user page "Feel Some Sense of Ownership Over". I feel like I have some ownership (as in pride, and making sure the content is always good) on those pages, not anything more. Elisfkc (talk) 14:57, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Non-free use of File:Trompe L’Oeil-Westworld.jpeg

Thank you for uploading File:Trompe L’Oeil-Westworld.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the image description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the {{di-fails NFCC}} tag itself.

An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the image page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The following images have also been nominated:

@Diannaa: Wait, when was this decided? As far as I knew, one image was allowed on each article for episodes. Elisfkc (talk) 16:20, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
There's no entitlement to one non-free image per episode, and most TV shows do not have them. It's been that way since about 2012-2013. See for example Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2013 May 22 where some Star Trek images were deleted, and Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2012 November 18, where some Simpsons images were deleted. Even iconic episodes lack an image in the info box. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:07, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
@Diannaa: but look at Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2012 November 18#File:The Simpsons 5F05.png & Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2012 November 18#File:Lisainthefuture.png, as well as some of the others. There is no hard set policy for deleting the images. --Elisfkc (talk) 17:18, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Sure there's exceptions, but if these six Westworld files were listed at FFD I can pretty much guarantee that they would be deleted. They are just random screen shots. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:50, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
@Diannaa: They actually aren't random screenshots. Take a look at the source. Each image is the featured image for the episode on the page, which serves as HBO's press site. The exception is File:The Original-Westworld.jpeg, because there was no featured image. Elisfkc (talk) 17:53, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Also, why tag my uploads and not File:Adversary Westworld.png? Elisfkc (talk) 17:55, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

I will leave a link to this conversation on the talk pages of the files concerned so that the assessing administrator can review our discussion. If you feel that image qualifies for deletion, please go ahead and nominate it. In fact you could go through the whole Westworld TV series as a random spot check shows there's others. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:04, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
@Diannaa: Thanks. By the way, what other ones do you see? There have only been 8 episodes, which are represented by these images and File:Adversary Westworld.png]]. Elisfkc (talk) 18:06, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Found it. You had missed my upload File:Contrapasso-Westworld.jpeg. I'll see what the assessing admin thinks first. If they decide that the above images are no good, I'll tag that one. Elisfkc (talk) 18:13, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
(edit conflict) File:Adversary Westworld.png, File:Contrapasso-Westworld.jpeg. Since there's only two, I have ahead with the nominations. File:Contrapasso-Westworld.jpeg was originally uploaded by you, so please consider this your notification of the potential deletion. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:15, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
@Diannaa: Understood. I added your note (signed by me) to both of those image's talk pages, as well as to your notice on User talk:Cognissonance. Elisfkc (talk) 18:17, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for keeping your cool while this discussion was ongoing. It's in contrast to some of the other interactions I have had the last coupla days, so I appreciate it. I guess we will just wait now and see what the closing admin decides. I will continue to watch-list your talk page in case you think of any further points to add. Cheers, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:48, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

File:Sleeping Beauty Castle, Disneyland, Paris.jpg

Hi there. You put a rename request on File:Sleeping Beauty Castle, Disneyland, Paris.jpg, asking to rename it to File:Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant.jpg because "This is not a Sleeping Beauty Castle, it is a Beauty and the Beast castle. Officially, the name in French is Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant. As such, it should be moved to the correct name." Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant means Sleeping Beauty castle in French. I just want to make sure that I'm not missing anything. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 21:08, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

France FOP

I see you've made a series of edits related to removing images taken in France that don't comply with their freedom of panorama laws, which restrict the posting of images of buildings in the country that were built after 1946. I was wondering what prompted this. Putting this sort of restriction in place would seem logical if it were just on the French language Wikipedia, but not on the English language Wikipedia. Is it the policy of Wikipedia to comply with every local and national law around the world even in countries where its servers are not located and even if they contradict the laws of the United States (if I recall correctly, the servers are mostly in Virginia now and hence are not obligated to follow oddball copyright laws in France)? To cherry pick a hypothetical example, take the United Arab Emirates, which restricts all IP addresses ending in .il (Israel). Should we also delete certain Israeli-specific content to comply with the laws of the UAE? The common sense answer is "no" of course, but then again certain rules on Wikipedia defy common sense. Jackdude101 (Talk) 03:14, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

@Jackdude101: It's an interesting question, but there is a slight misunderstanding. The images were not hosted on English Wikipedia, they were hosted on Wikimedia Commons. Commons is much stricter about license policies, because it is an image site for all Wikipedia language sites, as well as other Wikimedia sites. Commons only allows images that are freely licensed (there is even a section on Commons' licensing policy page about the interaction of US and non-US laws). Because of the lack of French freedom of panorama, Commons does not allow those images to be hosted on that project. However, English Wikipedia does seem to allow some of these images (See File:Sleeping Beauty Castle, Disneyland, Paris.jpg). Elisfkc (talk) 04:21, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
Also, I do have to say that I've really appreciated the work you've put into the Disney train articles. Elisfkc (talk) 04:24, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
@Elisfkc: Thank you. It's a labor of love. Just last Saturday I made a notable addition to the Walt Disney World Railroad article with images I took there that day. Hopefully, this edit will give the article a bigger chance of achieving good article status. Jackdude101 (Talk) 04:37, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
@Jackdude101: I totally understand that, I'm in the area too and will occasionally do that with other Disney attractions (though I just use my phone, so they aren't usually that great of pictures). Elisfkc (talk) 04:46, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

What is not neutral about my edits? The site was seriously in error and these were some examples, you can check for yourself other articles on this site about Trump's chances BernardZ (talk)

@BernardZ: Yes, but nearly every news source in the country was in serious error, because the data they had turned out to have errors. The tone of your writing also seemed, to me at least, like you were trying to bash the site more than you were trying to write an informative section. Elisfkc (talk) 15:53, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
We are talking this site and I think the argument that it was less wrong is not relevant. It was by its own admission wrong and it was wrong. What we have now is a white wash which is why I am upset.

BernardZ (talk)

@BernardZ: But they way you worded it makes it sound like to me that it was a propaganda machine against Trump, which it was not. That's my concern. Elisfkc (talk) 18:41, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
@Elisfkc: Okay if I reword it is it okay?

BernardZ (talk)

@BernardZ: sure. Elisfkc (talk) 06:24, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

DYK for MagicBands

On 13 January 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article MagicBands, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the idea for Disney's MagicBands came from a magnetic therapy bracelet found in SkyMall? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/MagicBands. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, MagicBands), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Kansas City Royals colors

Hello Elisfkc (talk), I just thought I'd inform you that the HTML or HEX color codes at Kansas City Royals are correct, per MLBStyleGuide.com (Google Search mlb pressbox access denied to find the credentials). Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 05:21, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

@Charlesaaronthompson: I was just about to ask about that. Do you have to apply for the credentials? Elisfkc (talk) 05:27, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Elisfkc: I outlined how to find the credentials. Google Search "mlb pressbox access denied" (sic). Then click on the cache page for MLBI Game Selection Portal v2.7.1 to find the credentials. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 05:31, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Charlesaaronthompson: Ok, I found that, but my browser can't read the first two characters of the password for some reason (I'm just getting the U+FFFD REPLACEMENT CHARACTER symbol). Elisfkc (talk) 05:44, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Elisfkc: What browser are you using? Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 05:45, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Charlesaaronthompson: Chrome. I checked Firefox and Internet Exploder, they also couldn't read it. Elisfkc (talk) 05:46, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Elisfkc: Here's the cached webpage that lists them. I hope this helps. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 05:51, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Charlesaaronthompson: Unfortunately, no. Elisfkc (talk) 05:57, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Charlesaaronthompson: I'm an idiot. I forgot to think about what year it was for the password, the characters weren't the issue. Elisfkc (talk) 06:04, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

@Elisfkc: Have you figured it out? Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 06:06, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

@Charlesaaronthompson: Yep. We are both right, in a way. Black and light blue are both official colors, though white is not. Elisfkc (talk) 06:09, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Kirsten Stewart

Rather than mindlessly engage in an edit war, please take the time to read WP:BRD when you don't agree with being reverted. Then, having read that, and in view of your rather stupid edit summary, maybe you'd care to familiarise yourself with WP:INFOBOXUSE which clearly states: "The use of infoboxes is neither required nor prohibited for any article. Whether to include an infobox, which infobox to include, and which parts of the infobox to use, is determined through discussion and consensus among the editors at each individual article." CassiantoTalk 19:37, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

@Cassianto: that's why I thanked you instead of undoing the edit where you said to read the talk page. I read that and understood why it is that way now. Elisfkc (talk) 19:39, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
You warred. There was no excuse for that. CassiantoTalk 19:40, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
@Cassianto: How did I war? I undid what I believed was an incorrect undo edit from you, and I explain my thought in the edit summary. You then undid that, explaining your side and I thanked you for that (since I now understand why you undid my edit) and left it at that. Edit warring takes three reverts. I did one and you did two, and that's how it ended. Elisfkc (talk) 19:42, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
As per WP:BRD. You were Bold, I Reverted, therefore the onus was on you to Discuss. You didn't. You reverted instead of discussing. That is entering into an edit war. CassiantoTalk 19:47, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
@Cassianto: I was editing in good faith, I didn't think adding |needs-infobox=yes on a talk page counted as being bold. Also, Edit warring states "There is a bright line known as the three-revert rule". Honestly, it doesn't matter anymore. The dispute is over, and there isn't a reason to really keep discussing this. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup logo (1999–2015).svg

Thank you for uploading File:Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup logo (1999–2015).svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:45, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: removed it from the article and tagged the image with Template:Di-orphaned fair use. Elisfkc (talk) 04:49, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
That's one option, but it might also be possible to use the logo in the season article 1999 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup if that's actually when it was for the first time. This might be considered similar to what's referred to in item number 14 of WP:NFC#UUI. The file can't be used in every existing season article from 1999-2015, but it might be possible to write a non-free use rationale for the main infobox of the 1999 season, but the rationale will have to be really specific to that particular use and clearly explain why the file is used. A better source will probably also be needed to show that the logo was actually used for the 1999 season. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:07, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Super Bowl 50 Logo.svg

Rollback on Universal Studios Moscow

Can I ask why you roll-backed my edit here which has removed other edits I have made to the article instead of just removing the image? Ambo100. Could you also clarify where specifically it says this image is not licensed for this page? (talk) 21:34, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

@Ambo 100: I apologize, I did not see the other parts of the edit. I have fixed that now. As for the licensing, File:Logo universal-studios.png is a non-free image. It is licensed for use on Universal Parks & Resorts, as the logo of that organization, and that is it. Elisfkc (talk) 02:44, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

I noticed you also updated the image, thank you Ambo100 (talk) 17:32, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Edit on Tokyo Disney Sea

I noticed you repeatedly removed additions to this page. Please do not remove information that is relevant to the topic and is properly cited. It is far from constructive to claim everything is done for advertising purposes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobloblawas (talkcontribs) 01:05, February 23, 2017 (UTC)

@Bobloblawas: Except is advertising. The information added is not notable what so ever. Elisfkc (talk) 01:07, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
@Elisfkc: Please attempt to refine the information prior to deleting information that solely you have judged as being advertising or not in accordance to Wikipedia's editing style--Bobloblawas (talk) 01:12, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
@Bobloblawas: it's not possible. All of the information being added is not in accordance to Wikipedia's editing style. Elisfkc (talk) 01:14, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
@Elisfkc: Refining content to suit Wikipedia's editing style is not possible? I understand you're not trying to contribute to the site, choosing to police it instead. Please try to be productive with your contributions --Bobloblawas (talk) 01:17, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
@Bobloblawas: No, it is not possible. And FYI, I do contribute, but part of that is making sure that pages are not vandalized or have edits that break the rules. Elisfkc (talk) 01:19, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
@Bobloblawas: And now you are reverting notable information on articles I have started or making them inaccurate. Elisfkc (talk) 01:29, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

I don't want to break WP:3RR, but the content discussed above is clearly promotional and needs to be removed. Elisfkc (talk) 01:42, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into the matter. Primefac (talk) 01:57, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Your edits to User:Epicgenius

What reason did you have to edit another user's userpage, without asking them first, and without them asking you? Coffee // have a cup // beans // 08:48, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

@Coffee: In Elisfkc's defense, he was removing disruption by Olsen24 (blanking on false pretense of removing disruptive wikimarkup) which Kew Gardens 613 had already undone. epicgenius (talk) 20:27, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

I think you're getting a few things mixed up in this article. The show most recently opened Nov 11th 2016, and that's cited to the DLP website. Kindly stop changing this to the 19th. The terrorist attacks that closed the parks were in 2015, and did delay the opening of the show that year. I am not sure that the attacks and closure necessarily need to be mentioned at all in the article as they're not relevant to the show. Stifle (talk) 11:30, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

@Stifle: we do, because we are talking about when it originally opened at that park. Elisfkc (talk) 18:44, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Vertical cites vs. horizontal cites

Both formats are acceptable. I find the vertical cite easier to read, so I format my references that way. There's no reason to re-format a cite that someone else added. I certainly don't go running around changing horizontal formatted cites to vertical ones, and you shouldn't be doing the opposite. There's more people editing the Disney's Animal Kingdom page than just you; you don't get to arbitrarily decide to change the formatting of a citation for no good reason. Rockypedia (talk) 02:34, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

@Rockypedia: I understand, but the rest of the articles citations are that way, so that's why I did that. I'll leave it be now. Elisfkc (talk) 03:01, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
Appreciated. Rockypedia (talk) 03:04, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

Revert of Tokyo Disneyland edit

Hi, I saw you reverted my edit related to the Stitch! episode on Tokyo Disneyland [1]. You have said that it is "not encyclopedic for this article". However the article on Magic Kingdom has a section "In popular culture" which lists "The Kingdom Keepers" a fictional book which features Magic Kingdom. How is this any different? You have also said that it is "unsourced". I am not sure what kind of source you are expecting for information taken from a TV episode? Usually information about the plot of a TV episode does not have to mark additional sources as the information comes from the TV episode itself. Kidburla (talk) 13:48, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

@Kidburla: If you notice in the Magic Kingdom popular culture section, the entries are just a single line that is linking to corresponding article. Your version was not labeled as Popular Culture and was more than a mere mention. As for references, I'm looking for a mention of this in a reliable source somewhere, or the use of {{Cite AV media}}. However, if you are just doing a single line like the Magic Kingdom article, there is no need for a reference. Elisfkc (talk) 14:41, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Happily Ever After (Magic Kingdom), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Brave, Moana and Big Hero 6. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Rail transport in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts

This article has been given a featured list nomination here: Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Rail transport in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts/archive1. Due to minimal activity for the nomination, they are going to archive it unless there is more activity soon, and since you are one of the few people to have made multiple edits to this article at different times, your input will be valuable. I think one of the main things needed is for people to type Support or Oppose in the nomination to get it closed, so when you have a moment, please indicate officially whether you support the nomination on that page and present any concerns or changes to the article that you would like to see.
