Removal of copy/paste templates
I don't know whether you noticed, but User:Johnny Brockman has removed the copy/paste templates from several pages associated with future Olympic bidding. He seems to think that he can just pronounce that he doesn't think it's plagiarism because a few quotes (un-cited) are accurate, that means it's OK to remove the template. I've warned him, as has another editor, but he's persisting. Might be a good idea to keep a sharp eye on his editing. He just registered in early April, which makes me suspicious of his identity, but I can't put my finger on anything specific yet. ----Dr.Margi ✉ 02:15, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Walt Disney Imagineering
I saw that you reverted my edits on this page. Can you please explain what your explanation "not how citations work?" When I made these changes, I noted to myself:
- 'The' is not a first name and 'Imagineers' is not a surname
- Other books – in the same list – have a mixture of first names first and surnames first
- The 'Further reading' section at bottom of the Wikipedia page with instructions on how to cite sources, Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Further_reading, in which the format 'The Writers' Workshop' is used, not 'Writer's Workshop, The.'

- Neither, I was being truthful. I didn't see that template editors could edit that talk page as well as admins, so I honestly wasn't sure how you did it. It's protected from editing by anyone else. I was also letting cyberpower678 know, since your comment does not appear in the normal (non-editing) view. Elisfkc (talk) 22:20, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Disneyland Railroad featured article nomination
The Disneyland Railroad article is currently being nominated to become a featured article here: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Disneyland Railroad/archive1. It has passed specialized reviews for its prose, images, and sources, but it still needs a few people to chime and say they support the nomination on the review page to wrap things up. Your input on that page will be very helpful. Jackdude101 (Talk) 19:33, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
Disney Skyliner
Hi Elisfkc. In regards to the Disney Skyliner, I heard that there will be three lines and six stations, and that this might be the map. Since you were the editor who created the Skyliner article, and since you seem to edit a lot of Disney World articles (at least more frequently than I do), I wanted to know if you knew about these rumors, or whether the Skyliner is part of Disney Transport. Thanks. epicgenius (talk) 19:31, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
Also, the plans were actually filed in February 2017, months before actual confirmation. That doesn't fall under WP:RUMOR since these plans exist. The removal of info from Star Wars Hotel, however, is a real rumor. epicgenius (talk) 04:13, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Epicgenius: thanks, hadn't see those sources. However, they are still just rumors, or talking about rumors themselves. Elisfkc (talk) 04:17, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, point taken. But since these (past) rumors were still confirmed, I think it's safe to read some parts back. WP:RUMOR doesn't forbid that, at least. epicgenius (talk) 04:37, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
- I re-added the blueprints without mentioning rumors. epicgenius (talk) 13:52, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
- That works. Elisfkc (talk) 02:43, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
Walt Disney World Railroad featured article nomination
Thank you again for your clean-up of the Disneyland Railroad wikidata page. On a related note, if you have the time, I need more people to give input in the FA review for the Walt Disney World Railroad article here: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Walt Disney World Railroad/archive1. One of the FA review admins wants more commentary on FA criteria 1a (article is well-written), 1b (article is comprehensive), and 1c (article is well-researched). Once that is complete and the its source review started today is complete, the article will be very close to achieving FA status. Also, if you are satisfied with everything, simply state that you support the FA nomination on the review page. Jackdude101 (Talk) 21:15, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Sklar LA Times.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Sklar LA Times.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 18:04, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

Excessive archival of live sources
Greetings Elisfkc! You recently added archives to live citations in several articles, notably some on my watchlist SpaceX and Blue Origin, but many others. I understand that you are using the IABot console to automate this process. However, it is not necessary to archive all sources in an article: that makes the wikitext unnecessarily large and hard to edit. In the future, please do not check the box that says "Add archives to all non-dead references" on the tool page. Many thanks for your consideration. — JFG talk 19:22, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- How do we get this broken tool fixed? As a bare minimum, the default for that checkbox needs to be to not archive non-dead sources. Andy Dingley (talk) 19:37, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Andy Dingley: I believe the checkbox is not checked by default, but the way the UI is presented, people tend to check it in good faith, because it's the only thing to check! Unfortunately I don't know who to contact to suggest a UI change. See discussions on Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard#Blocking inappropriate use of a bot and Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard#Archiving links not dead - good idea?. Apparently, some people think archiving all live sources is the right thing to do and should be the default action. I strongly disagree, and I believe we may need a central RfC to settle the issue. In the meantime, this tool is way too powerful for its own good… — JFG talk 19:50, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- Several editors [1] seem to be making these changes. Andy Dingley (talk) 19:54, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- The 'bot / tool should be turned off NOW until this is resolved. We do not need urgent use of broken 'bots. Andy Dingley (talk) 19:54, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- The bot is not broken, it's just too powerful and does not explain its actions enough to good-faith users. Where can we best raise awareness about this issue? — JFG talk 21:16, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- @JFG and Andy Dingley: I was doing it, because I have run into an issue of links being dead and never archived on many articles. This was the only was I knew to quickly have every single link in an article checked to see if there was an archive somewhere (and if not, have it saved). I will stop now, but @Cyberpower678: is the one to ask about changing anything on there. Elisfkc (talk) 23:41, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- "and if not, have it saved"
- So how does it do that? Andy Dingley (talk) 23:46, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Andy Dingley: Saves it with Wayback Machine. Look at this link. I ran the IABot through, with the "Add archives to all non-dead references" option checked, on Marty Sklar at 17:01 yesterday. It was a new link, so IABot saved it on Wayback Machine (which is why there is a copy of that page at 17:01). How it does that, I don't know. But it works, and I can't find another way for it to do it. If the bot would do it when you run it through a list ("Submit a bot job"), where it only adds the archive url to dead links on the article, I would go back to using the list option right away. Elisfkc (talk) 23:51, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

- The tool is functioning perfectly, and explicitly states that users using it are responsible for the edits it performs on their behalf. The option is there because there are users who find it useful, especially when FA reviewing an article apparently. Checking the box does proactively save copies of pages not in the Wayback Machine into the Wayback Machine, it's otherwise disabled by default as it follows the on wiki configuration file and the decision to proactively save pages into the Wayback Machine is up to the devs of the Wayback Machine, who wish to leave it off by default in favor of their own bot. There's also a reason why the queuing tool to summon the bot to a collection of pages is only restricted to default configuration, because if someone were to turn the bot loose with a custom setup on several thousand pages, and it screws up on every single one of them, that would be a huge mess to clean up.—CYBERPOWER (Message) 00:13, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- As a side note, ANY administrator on Wikipedia, can block ANY user on the tool from using the tool if they are found to be using it abusively. Also blocking them on Wikipedia blocks their ability to use the tool as well. So there are methods to stop abuse in place.—CYBERPOWER (Message) 00:15, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- See my comments at User talk:Mramoeba. It's useful to cause a WP page to be archived. It's not useful to note a live WP page as archived: it's neither necessary yet, nor useful.
- Are you familiar with the code for this 'bot? AIUI, archive.org does not use requests for a page to add to its archived list (they used to). Instead there is a specific interface to request archiving. Now requesting this would be useful for WP, but changing the ref stored here is neither useful, nor necessary to achieve this. Andy Dingley (talk) 01:02, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I follow you. IABot is capable of saving external links it finds on articles into the Wayback Machine. It's off by default at the request of Internet Archives, but the option on the tool, when checked, enables it again to maximize archiving and rescuing of all non-dead references, when analyzing a specified page. As for knowing the tool, I wrote the entire thing. You're looking at 2 years of work right here. My name is in the copyright on the bottom of the tool.—CYBERPOWER (Message) 01:46, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
FYI, I have requested a UI improvement at User talk:cyberpower678#IABot: suggest UI clarification. — JFG talk 06:51, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- @JFG: If I run a page through with the non-dead links box checked and then revert the edit once it is done (so that the bot makes sure the links are archived on Wayback Machine), is that ok with you? Elisfkc (talk)
- I don't mind, personally. This issue should be discussed globally though. It would be more efficient to have a tool that proactively requests archiving of sources whenever they are inserted or updated in an article; some of the botmasters have toyed with this idea already. — JFG talk 15:21, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

- @Crazy Minh: Yes, I know I love Disney a lot, but I have every right to edit any article, just like you do. I did in fact do FIRST Robotics, but if you read the note on Talk:FIRST Steamworks#Content, you will see what my current philosophy on me editing FIRST Robotics stuff is. As I have said before, you should not be adding stuff about your own team (conflict of interest), especially since it is not really relevant to the article as a whole. --Elisfkc (talk) 16:31, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Should the women's football task force become WikiProject: WOSO? |
According to an op-ed in the recent Signpost, some editors think task forces and subgroups are dying in 2017. What do you think about forming our own WikiProject separate from WP:FOOTY? There's an on-going discussion of the potential pros and cons on the task force talk page. Input is welcome. |
New initiatives have been created for:
While WP:FPL lists only two women's top-division leagues as notable due to its "fully professional" criteria, did you know you can create an article on any player in any league as long as the references meet WP:GNG guidelines? Make sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}. Have some new articles in mind or see some that need improvement? Add them to the Open Tasks page if you'd like and other editors may be able to help. Need tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors? Leave a message on the task force talk page. |
Thank you for your continued contributions to articles related to women's football / soccer (WOSO)! |

My only issue is how you paraphrase the addition I put in. It has frustrated me. I don't want to deal with someone changing what I find is suitable since I myself decided to put time to It. Your changes is not what I had visioned and it isn't close. I don't find it right for anyone else to do what you did when it wasn't an issue. "Then one July 25,2017" and so forth is not ok. I don't think the exact dates are needed. This isn't a biography. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluhaze777 (talk • contribs) 22:13, August 6, 2017 (UTC)
- @Bluhaze777: I understand your issue with dates, but putting "a few days later" is a little to ambiguous. Also, the way you are phrasing it makes it sound like Neal Patterson's death is directly related to the Dwyer trade.--Elisfkc (talk) 23:52, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
DYK for Star Wars Hotel
On 10 August 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Star Wars Hotel, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a hotel shaped like a starship, based on the Star Wars franchise, is planned for Walt Disney World? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Star Wars Hotel. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Star Wars Hotel), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Halloween Horror Nights
Please justify your reversion. Oddjob84 (talk) 15:26, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Oddjob: The article you linked to wasn't really a part of Horror Nights and seems to have nothing to do with the history. You seem to have just thrown in the link somewhere, rather than fitting in into the article where it would have made sense. In fact, it is already in the area where it would have made sense (USH under Event Summaries), so your edit was not constructive at all. Elisfkc (talk) 15:33, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
- The article linked does have to do with the History of HHN at USH. The venue was re-themed and staffed up above normal operating levels for the seven years the attraction and the event coincided. "Since the House of Horrors opened it has been used in the park's seasonal event, Halloween Horror Nights." -quoted from Universal"s House of Horrors Article. It makes perfect sense there. Burying it in the Event Summaries is as good as not noting it at all. I would also remind you Wikilinks are encouraged, not disparaged. As to your "not constructive" remark, please take a moment to click back through the edit summaries, say, 51 through 250. Please either revert yourself, or do better than I did at noting this item. Oddjob84 (talk) 16:00, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Oddjob: I am saying you need something more than "See also Universal's House of Horrors" in the middle of a history section. It is not even a complete sentence. Whether you write something about the fact that from 2006 to 2014 there was a permanent year round element of Horror nights called Universal's House of Horrors, or something else, it just needs to be more than a throw away statement. --Elisfkc (talk) 19:47, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Odd revert
Hi. I just thanked you for adding archiveurl sources to the New Shepard article on 29 July 2017. Oddly, someone reverted that helpful addition to making the encyclopedia better.
Should you care to do that again sometime, and ping me so I'll notice, I'd be quite happy to keep a watch on the page and help the beneficial changes stay.
If that works with that editor, who is active on other spaceflight articles as well, I'd be happy to suggest a few other spaceflight articles (like the half dozen I've recently edited) that might benefit from your helpful attentions. Cheers. N2e (talk) 08:06, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I was wondering why you removed the RCDB template from the external links section. Thanks! --hmich176 00:43, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Hmich176: Is it really a necessary thing? --Elisfkc (talk) 00:46, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Elisfkc: You didn't leave an edit summary, so I have no idea why you decided to remove it. It's not really a big deal, but since you asked, I don't see why RCDB's Hersheypark page shouldn't be included in the external links section. It has a list of all of the roller coasters the park has had to date, not just former ones, and it also features a few images of the park. --hmich176 22:22, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

About the Cirque du Soleil Show Logos
Hello there. Matthew250 here. And I’ll have you know that the Cirque du Soleil show logos I uploaded and you and the staff took down, were high quality logos that I made with images that I downloaded from the internet and edited with Photoshop (Some of the images weren’t edited since they already had transparent backgrounds). So can you please bring back the images that you and the staff deleted from this site? Also, the Beatles Love logo that I uploaded earlier is the updated logo for the show since it celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier. Matthew250 (talk) 17:13, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Matthew250: No, and I'll tell you why. You editing them in photoshop means that they are not the exact logo anymore. However, they are too close to the original logo for you to be able to claim copyright on them, rendering them copyright violations when you claimed own work. Removing white/opaque background is one thing, but when the background has more colors, that isn't totally background anymore. Also, you were changing the colors on the work, so that they were not the right color. As for the Love logo, you did not provide a source, so there is no way to verify the authenticity of it (or any of the other logos for that matter). Elisfkc (talk) 02:46, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Elisfkc: Just because I edited them in Photoshop does not mean that they are not the exact logo anymore. Also, the white color on some of the Cirque du Soleil show logos I uploaded and you and the staff took down, sometimes blended in with the background on this site, which is why I changed the color on some of the logos' letters from white to black (and by some of the logos, I meant the Delirium and Love logos). The other logos' colors remained the same and were always visible when they were on the wiki pages for the precise Cirque du Soleil show. Tell you what; I'll reupload the image files and determine the correct source for each image, whether the logo remained the same, or whether I extracted the logo from the image. What do you say? Matthew250 (talk) 04:09, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Matthew250: The sources you provided on Wikimedia Commons are not good enough. They do not have proof of permission/license. As such, they have been nominated for speedy deletion. When you have the sources with proof of a permission valid on Commons, upload only one of them and let me know. I'll double check before you do the rest, so that there is less work for both of us. Elisfkc (talk) 18:37, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Elisfkc: The sources I provided are good enough, because they link to a high quiality external image that I extracted the logo from. Can you please undelete the images I uploaded earlier?
- @Matthew250: No, for two reasons. First, I am not an admin so I cannot delete or undelete images. Second, you provided a link straight to the image. While that is helpful to get the largest size image, you need to prove that the license you are claiming ({{cc-by-4.0}}) is valid. The best way to do this, if the license is proven on the page, is to provide that url. For example, on Flickr images, such as File:2013 at SFX - Boeing 747 D-ABVY of Lufthansa over United N105UA (10864575465).jpg, the image's url is https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5508/10864575465_d954a41155_o_d.jpg (which instantly downloads the image). However, that does not prove the license of {{cc-by-sa-2.0}}. Instead, we are looking for the page's url, https://www.flickr.com/photos/34076827@N00/10864575465/ which proves the source. That's what the issue is. Elisfkc (talk) 19:11, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 25
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Space Oddity, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tesla Roadster (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The article Draft:FIRST Power Up has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
New article outside of this draft has been created at FIRST Power Up.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rainclaw7 (talk) 19:15, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

Hogwarts Express FAC
Hi Elisfkc,
I nominated Hogwarts Express (Universal Orlando Resort) just over two years ago and you had left some comments. I haven't been on Wikipedia since (I only signed back in last week!) but I made some adjustments to the article and I think it could become a FA. I would greatly appreciate it if you could review it again! Thanks!--Dom497 (talk) 18:47, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

Considering wikipedia's own page on the specific family guy episode includes the fact, and your taunting attitude, I request that you stop your actions to prevent me from improving wikipedia. Since I have found a different source (what you could have done instead of saying try again, like when you lose a video game) I do not have to enact WP:IAR like I should have. Ral 33 (talk) 16:35, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Ral 33: Sorry if it came across like taunting in a video game, I was trying to be encouraging in saying try again. I was also giving you a heads up why I removed the statement so you understood why. I know that other people also watch that page, and they likely would have removed it with the IMDb reference as well. I'd rather remove it quickly with an explanation so you could fix it, then to have you add it and have someone remove it in a couple of weeks for the same reason. --Elisfkc (talk) 16:39, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
