I just wanted to thank you for dealing with this annoying, aggressive, and intractable editor. I had had numerous run-ins with them, and I was on the verge of reporting them when I noticed you had taken action. So I wanted to send you a quick thank you for that. Anwegmann (talk) 20:59, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Anwegmann:Thank you for cleaning up after them. If they continue after the block expires, the next one will probably be indefinite. Favonian (talk) 21:02, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- No problem. I do what I can. And I'll be in touch if I see anything after the initial block has expired or if I see any sock puppetry. Thanks again. Anwegmann (talk) 21:04, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

We are in an edit war as wikipedia calls it. We cant make more edits or we will be banned from editing, but the edit war is about what "Bia" means in greece. It means Violence not force, force is "Dinami" I have been living in Greece all my life and I am Greek so I know what I am talking about. So stop editing the wrong information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChristosPet7 (talk • contribs) 19:18, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- Indeed we are, ChristosPet7, and it's a good thing that you have come forward to explain the reason for your changes. You should, however, present your arguments on Talk:Kratos (mythology) rather than on my talk page. Your present course of action is likely to lead to you being blocked. - Well, you obviously haven't understood what you read, just as your idea of what constitutes "discrimination" is happily divorced from reality. Favonian (talk) 11:20, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

- @Deepfriedokra: The UTRS request is identical, word for word, to others that he has made for the past decade. No progress, no inclination/ability to acknowledge the disruption caused by his editing. I'm afraid this is a case where "indefinite" = "forever". I was informed about this sock by a colleague on sco-Wiki: User talk:Favonian/Archive 53#LCP seems to have returned. If memory serves, it was related to a previous block of 51.6.94.0/24. You made a mistake
Who the hell is dronebogus
I improved a page only for a single addition to be deleted because it was unsourced. 5 minutes is not enough time. I then checked the page and realised several other questionable items were also unsourced so I deleted them according to Wikipedia policy. The regulations about unsourced material are as I am sure you are aware quite clear. My edits were reverted so I reinstated my original good edit, and before I could add a reference you blocked my account. You cannot have it both ways. I insist you make a decision amongst yourselves and either reinstate my original edit until a reference can be added; or reinstate my edits that removed unsourced material. Did you even check that the material I deleted was unreferenced, not likely in the 3 minutes it took you to make a decision to block me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a00:23c5:6127:7301:4073:9890:2ed3:6034 (talk) 19:47, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

An article on political violence in India (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakhimpur_Kheri_massacre) is misrepresented as massacre and editors from left-leaning political party are not allowing to write about the other side of the story which is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lakhimpur_Kheri_massacre&oldid=1049767238 Please note that the editors are not allowing the "Times of India" and "India Today" references [18] and [19]. I need some help for my article
Hello, I have read the articles you have published, and I find them very interesting. I need help with an article I wrote, the article has already been viewed once, and it was not accepted. I edited the article, taking into account the recommendations that had been made. I had started chatting with the contributor who read my article, in order to improve it. But that is no longer possible because it has been banned from Wikipedia. You are more experienced than me, could you take a look at my article, and let me know if you think it is ok or if I need to edit This is an article about a contemporary French painter who is alive. The article is very short. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Hom_Nguyen Thank you for any help you can give me — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thx2020 (talk • contribs) 09:43, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
Francisco Franco
Hi there, as I mentioned before, the protection on the article is no longer needed, it should've been temporary, not permanent, I'm just curious, what is your rationale for maintaining the protection? -- 2804:248:f657:b700:295a:9552:a94c:2b1 (talk) 20:48, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
- This was made clear in my response to you most recent request. It would appear that you're not getting your way on the article talk page and now you want to edit the article anyway. That's edit warring and protection helps to prevent it. Favonian (talk) 17:10, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- Well, I was planning to add some sources on the article which consider Franco a fascist, but I can't do it when the article is protected. -- 2804:248:f679:5100:74b8:a245:1938:154a (talk) 17:35, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Why does Warner Bros. Family Entertainment have a redirect to Warner Bros.? ZX2006XZ (talk) 14:24, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- The alternative to a redirect, which you have repeatedly tried to introduce, is virtually unsourced and has been rejected several times by various editors. If you can't obtain talk page consensus for an article living up to Wikipedia's requirements, the redirect stays. Favonian (talk) 17:36, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Talk:Operation Wikinger
Hi, since we recently crossed ways on Requests for page protection/Edit (with another IP), I decided to contact you earlier. (If you are still confused User_talk:176.247.159.174 has some details on my little project, but reading it isn't really needed). Talk:Operation Wikinger is the most recent entry on my list of indefinitly protected talk pages, the odd thing is that the article isn't protected. The recent history looks a bit messy, so protecting the article may make more sense in this case. I will check if the protections changed, otherwise, please just let me know that the matter was already considered. Actually, if you know some good reasons for having a protected talk page with an unprotected article, some hints on how to spot these cases and narrow down my list before contacting other admistrators are also welcomed. 176.247.140.144 (talk) 23:33, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
- The talk page was a frequent target of WP:LTA/Wikinger, one of Wikipedia's more persistent pests. Why he's more interested in the talk page than the article is beyond me, but I guess we'll now find out if he subscribes to my talk page. The moron is still very much around, so I prefer to keep the protection in place. My opinion on talk page protection in general is – pragmatic and ad hoc. Favonian (talk) 10:41, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, I was suspecting this may be a valid reason for such situations and will take a closer look, at least at the newest examples. 176.247.140.144 (talk) 10:58, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi! Instead of blocking the daily socks making disruptive edits − how about semi-protecting the article? Antique Rose 19:06, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm still on the fence with regard to protecting that article and Toplessness – the other fixation of this particular weirdo. Since I hit their IP range with a partial block, the disruption is down to appr. one per day, and the effort expended is very much in our favor. So, for the moment, I'm inclined to lean back of savor their frustration. Favonian (talk) 08:15, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Indef. block on Otávio Astor Vaz Costa
Hi, Favonian. How are you doing? I just saw Otávio Astor Vaz Costa (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) is indef. blocked since Oct. 23, 2021 for "abusing multiple accounts" in a case related to MarquinhosWikipediano (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log). However, I don't see their name anywhere on MarquinhosWikipediano SPI case. Also, I don't see any notice on their talk page. Could you, please, give me more details about the reason for his block (if you can, obviously)? Thanks. Kacamata! Dimmi!!! 04:33, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Kacamata: Yes, it was a clear-cut case, the smoking gun being the recreation of an article that has previously been cultivated by MW socks. Blatant socks of serial puppeteers can be processed without adding to the considerable backlog at SPI, and as the person is very well acquainted with unblock requests (having had several rejected), formal notices are unnecessary. And this matter is very important to us on pt.WP. Again, thanks for your patience and for taking your time to answer these questions. Kacamata! Dimmi!!! 23:56, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Cease & desist
Please refrain from abusing warning or blocking templates, as you did to User talk:Amicaveritas. Doing so is a violation of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please use the user warnings sandbox for any tests you may want to do, or take a look at our introduction page to learn more about contributing to the encyclopedia. Thank you. You are not assuming good faith. You do not have any special privileges here. My "caution" was justified. It is abuse like yours that discourages editors and donations to Wikipedia. Amicaveritas (talk) 16:34, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- Let's see: you came back after several years' absence and accused an editor of vandalism, obviously without merit, and then you take refuge in conspiracy theories. Maybe you should take another, longer break. Favonian (talk) 17:15, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- Please stop the ad hominem attacks WP:PA.
- On what basis was the caution without merit? The merits are crystal clear and given in the caution. The deletion was arbitrary, without consensus, without reference to the encyclopaedic merit, without reference to similar articles on similar companies, without any comprehension of the field of study or the importance of for example a Queens Award. Happy to discuss the merits. Amicaveritas (talk) 12:00, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

Greetings,
After you reviewed the write-up about Italy being considered one of birthplaces of western civilization...I did research to find that....the Italians are the only one's that believe this....It is totally unfair to Greece...Greece totally influenced Rome...Horatio famously said, who conquered whom, the franca lingua was Greek during their reign...Please do not give credit where it is not deserved... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luckydog123 (talk • contribs) 14:30, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

Okay! I will wait for them. I have set a reminder, but the problem is that a correctly stated fact has been removed from the website. What I think is that my edit should remain, and until they do not come up with evidence which suggests the opposite, then they can remove it. I believe I possess the first right over here, and I cannot see why am I being asked to wait. However, as I mentioned, I will want to comply with Wikipedia guidelines, and will pursue this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Secretive lobbyist (talk • contribs) 15:15, 1 January 2022 (UTC)

You blocked this User from one page. They are also edit warring at the Jenny Lind page, also as User:150.135.165.8. Can you please take a look? -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:32, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Ssilvers: More accurately, I have blocked a range of University of Arizona, Tucson IPs from editing the Propositional calculus article because one person was edit-warring over a long period of time. Looking at the other contributions from this range, I would say that a lot of different people with very diverse interests are editing, and I doubt that the person adding unsourced information to the Jenny Lind article is the same as the one necessitating the partial block. At any rate, so far they've only reverted once, so it's not much of an edit-war. They should be warned about the lack of sources, but it's probably too late now, given the pattern of rapidly changing addresses within the range. Favonian (talk) 11:05, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- Did a little more digging. The same unsourced addition was made in July 2021 by 173.68.140.152, an editor from Syosset, New York clearly interested in classical music. They last edited on August 15. Gone off to college? Favonian (talk) 11:23, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- What they want to add is already reflected elsewhere in the article, but it doesn't belong in this sentence, as these names are not mentioned in the source cited, and it confuses the chronology. Since they won't come to the Talk page and just keep reverting, I wish they would quit it. -- Ssilvers (talk) 13:16, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused by his block. I checked a few of his edits, and he was fixing things like commas being inside italics, which have now all been reverted to their original incorrect state. Seasider53 (talk) 14:43, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Seasider53: The reason for the block is clear: it's a sockpuppet of banned and globally locked user Isuzu.tf. Their MO involves long series of small, unexplained edits, sometimes constructive, othertimes not so much. Though I didn't revert this particular sock's edits, I have done it to others in the past. What legitimizes it is the WP:BMB part of Wikipedia's banning policy. The not-so-pious hope is that the futility of continued socking will be made clear to them. Absent WikiGoons and WikiDrones, it's just about the only weapon at our disposal. If we were to play nice, we'd have to sift through their numerous edits to identify the good and the bad parts – not the best way to spend one's time. Favonian (talk) 17:23, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
- As you're not a sockpuppet of a banned account (hopefully), can you please manually redo the edits of Isuzu? Username142857 (talk) 17:00, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
