A barnstar for you!
[edit]| The Writer's Barnstar | |
| Returning the favor because I was adding more information to Leon Milton Birkhead, including the meeting Kansas City Mayor James Cowgill called to answer an accusation Birkhead made against him, where he suddenly dropped dead. I checked Cowgill's article and saw that you had added that exact information in December, the first expansion the article received since being created in June 2007. That's twice I've been helped by an expansion you did. Talk about coincidences. Nice work! 1brianm7 (talk) 09:11, 23 June 2026 (UTC) |
Louis E. Burnham "low importance"?
[edit]I don't get it. In trying (without success, all my correspondents had other projects and/or interests) to find a biographer for Louis E. Burnham, I've corresponded with a number of academics who described him as a significant figure, worthy of a biography; Eric Foner and Mary Helen Washington are the names that come to mind. And you are involved in Project Biography, so perhaps you can edit authoritatively about that. But your "low importance" edits just seems like slamming, as if you thought: "why not just L. I. everything!" Certainly his peers in the civil rights movement didn't think of him that way. He edited a publication for its whole run that contested US foreign policies during the McCarthy period; his contributors included quite a roster of dissenting black writers of the time. I wonder, did you read the article from beginning to end?
Perhaps I misunderstand the project designations; if so, you can enlighten me.
Larry Koenigsberg (talk) 14:53, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah you're right, and I'm sorry. I marked low-importance without even thinking about it. The primary goal of my edit was to add him to WikiProject Socialism, and I saw the unfilled importance sections and filled them out for the sake of them being filled out. Burnham is important, but my brain was just on autopilot then. I updated it now. Roast (talk) 15:05, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- I hope you have no more occasions to suffer such embarrassment. Please edit consciously. Larry Koenigsberg (talk) 21:27, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Guerreroast,
There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.
By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.
Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:02, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
