Witchcraft Suppression etc.

Hi! Thanks for all the work you've put in to the Mpumalanga Witchcraft Suppression Bill article - you have dealt with all the issues I complained about on the talk page, and the article is greatly improved. Southern hemisphere

Dear HelenOnline.

To me, I believe that Neopagan holidays is a strictly northern hemisphere of temperate region only celebration, in a way because Neopagan followers who reside in the equator are logically not allowed to celebrate the holidays, simply because there is no season in the equator, which is "unfair" to think about it. I don't know, but the only Neopagans in the southern hemisphere is probably a minority in Australia, only because they follow their British ancestors. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Despite of that, you're correct, I was asking myself while removing this. There is no reason why I should remove the "southern hemisphere" explanation. I was just irrationally concerned that the "southern hemisphere" addition will invite people to criticize the Neopagan days as not notable enough and too pseudo-religion to be placed in the Holidays and observances section. (as the case of the past Discordian holiday, Asatru, and Latvian neopaganism). I myself is the person who wanted to keep the Wiccan days in the Holidays and observances and have created a proposed rule for it.

About Kagiso

I'm really glad to see someone else is also keeping an eye on the persistent spamming of that article. Take a look at the history - you'll see it's been going on for months - if not more than a year. The cherry on the cake is that the spammer is now trying to submit an article about their website - see Spidersweb (it's currently under Speedy so even if it is a redlink by the time you see it, take a look at the deletion record) and WT:Articles for creation/Kagiso, Gauteng. It's for a website that gives tourists information about places they can visit in kagiso and get the latest news and navigation. We are doing it to make people aware about our city. Sorry that's not what references are for. A reference provides a reliable source for information as Wikipedia is not a primary source of information. There are many other reasons why the website link does not belong in the article (WP:LINKSTOAVOID, WP:LINKSPAM, WP:ADV, WP:ELREG). Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia written primarily by volunteers with that purpose in mind, not free advertising. Rules and guidelines are necessary to ensure that the information contained in the encyclopedia is not biased and the generosity of the donors and volunteers is not abused. Card suit correspondence

good day Hellen, could you please check my comment in the discussion of the suit cards page? I really think that the correspondence table is not correct, if at all a correspondence table can be made. As far as I understood, there is more a derivation tree of suits, plus suits that probably jump out of the void, just to fill in the blank of an otherwise missing fourth suit (German and Swiss Schellen not clearly associated with anything, but according to the way Germans play Skat: Diamonds; Swiss Roses associated to Hearts only because it's the fourth and available suit, but also very possibly derived from geographically contiguous and graphically similar Denari in the Bergamasche cards. It would be interesting checking how the Swiss play their national games with the different suit systems.). What the French Chartomancers did, well, that was also arguing that tarot cards came from ancient Egypt, didn't they? We do mention that as a historical curiosity, but we know that they had been developed for a specific a card game from Bologna, apparently still existing. Agreed, we should find references for what we say, but selecting references to support only one opinion is also not wikipedia-correct. My source for associating diamonds to denari is the table itself (it would avoid the multiple rows for association of suit with a class in society. The way it is now, it is inconsistent with itself.) and the way North-West Italians play Scopone with their French suited cards. Mfrasca (talk) 06:48, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Citation Bot

The citation bot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Citation_bot) helps expand citations and ensure they are in the ideal Wikipedia format. It can be called manually by an editor, but it also runs through all Wikipedia on its own. Repeatedly undoing its changes for "personal taste" reasons is not productive when there are so very many articles even in the genetic genealogy world that need real substantial work.
