  Hello, I'm Arjayay. I noticed that you recently removed content from Chandragupta Maurya without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Arjayay (talk) 10:51, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Conquest of the Nanda Empire, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nanda. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

  Hello! I'm NebY. Your recent edit(s) to the page Maurya Empire appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been reverted for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The claim that the Maurya Empire had a GDP which was "33% of the world economy" is an extraordinary claim which would require a WP:SCHOLARSHIP source; you provided no source at all.   Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Tanaji Malusare. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 16:05, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add or change content, as you did at Medini Rai, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Imperial[AFCND] 16:59, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Ajayaraja I, you may be blocked from editing. Also, kindly provide edit summaries for your edits. Imperial[AFCND] 17:03, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I have noticed that many of your edits rely on original research and lack credible sources. It's surprising that an active user with over 500 edits isn't aware that sources are mandatory for adding information, with suitable edit summaries. Please stop conducting original research and we welcome providing information with appropriate sources and suitable edit summaries. I suspect there may be many articles that have been modified without proper sourcing. I'm giving you a limited warning, as it seems no one has informed you about this until now. Regards..--Imperial[AFCND] 17:16, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Historical Vedic religion. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. Vanamonde93 (talk) 16:39, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Vanamonde93, @RegentsPark gave them a ct alert a few months ago. I’m not sure this editor can constructively edit in this topic and am considering at least a TB. Doug Weller talk 17:38, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Doug Weller: I didn't evaluate their history when I left the previous warning, but having looked a little deeper just now, I found they've been using fiction as a source for a history article [1]. So yes, a sanction is needed. But I'm inclined to think a block, over a TBAN; they do not seem to be willing to listen to warnings, and I suspect they will simply ignore a TBAN. Vanamonde93 (talk) 17:51, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also note the [2] open SPI report against them, as their behavior is similar to that of past socks in many of these sockfarms, which should be checked as well. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 17:56, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
