Disambiguation link notification for October 25
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Karamat Ali Jaunpuri, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Faqir. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
Hormuz Ullah Shayda moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Hormuz Ullah Shayda, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:50, 11 April 2023 (UTC)

Nawab Ali Asghar Khan
editThank you for editing that page of Nawab Ali Asghar Khan. Younger brother of Nawab Ali Haider Khan MLA and son of Nawab Ali Amjad Khan. Nawab Ali Asghar Khan also has a uncle by the name of Ali Akthar Khan. Ali Akthar Khan was born 1893 and died 1971. I believe somewhere between 1925 - 1955 he was a member of something. Either a member of the Assam legislative assembly/ or council or the member of Bengal legislative council. Could you help me find out? Bahadur Khan (talk) 03:10, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Barelvi madarsas
editWhy are you removing the Barelvi Madrasas from the list? Do you have any proof that those aren’t Barelvi madrasas? Most of them were founded by Futali who was a Sufi and the Syllabus of Madrasa includes the books of Aala Hazrat, that it is clear that those are Barelvi Madrasas! Please revert your edit, Thanks. Syed Aala Qadri (talk) 14:49, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Syed Aala Qadri Kalkatvi: I belong to the Jaunpuri silsila, and the Fultali tradition is a branch of this silsila. Naturally, Fultali Sahib was opposed to many beliefs of the Barelvi movement during his lifetime and his followers are aligned to the maslak of Karamat Ali Jaunpuri, Shah Ismail Dehlvi and Syed Ahmad Barelvi. I don't understand how you can make such a grave error. --Jaunpurzada (talk) 15:06, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

Shams
editPlease be aware of the fact that the page is for Shams not for others which are indirectly related to the name. So you may consider to create pages for each version instead of adding them to the Shams page. Egeymi (talk) 18:08, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Egeymi: It is not an indirect relation, it is a direct relation. Compound names are very common in Arabic and you can find this in many articles not just Shams Jaunpurzada (talk) 18:12, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- But each has its own page. So it is just a repetition. In regard to compound words or Arabic I have enough information, since I'm a linguist. --Egeymi (talk) 18:14, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Egeymi: I am as well. It makes it easy to find all the compound names when you go to the main name. Jaunpurzada (talk) 18:18, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- The slot in the infobox is not for individuals, please don't add any. --Egeymi (talk) 18:33, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Egeymi: I didn't add any individuals, both of those are pages. I will report you and get you blocked if you cause disruption again. Jaunpurzada (talk) 18:34, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- What????? Go ahead. If you correctly fill the edit summaries instead of writing Muslim nobleman, etc. I could understand your edits and did not revert your edit. But threatening is not a civil act, don't forget that. --Egeymi (talk) 18:36, 4 September 2023 (UTC)

November 2023
editPer the Manual of Style page on India-related articles, avoid the use of Indic scripts in the lead sections or infoboxes. Instead, use International Phonetic Alphabet pronunciation guides, which are more international. Exceptions are articles on the script itself, articles on a language that uses the script, and articles on texts originally written in a particular script. This does not apply to articles that are not predominantly within the scope of WikiProject India.
Consensus and common practice among WikiProject Pakistan editors is that the lead sentence of an article may contain Urdu or other transliterations in regional script(s) such as Shahmukhi, Perso-Arabic, Naskh etc., where applicable or relevant. IPA may be used additionally to aid pronunciation. Articles under the scope of WikiProject Pakistan are not covered under WP:INDICSCRIPT. Note that this consensus only applies to Pakistan-related articles. The use of Urdu and other non-Indic scripts on articles outside the scope of Pakistan-related articles, such as India-related articles, may be subsumed under WP:INDICSCRIPT.Gotitbro (talk) 16:35, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Also, this is incorrect and anachronistic, descent is anyhow meaningless for the application of that policy; the addition of scripts to diaspora politicians is wholly unnecessary we do not do it for a multitude of ethnicities in the US nor the UK and other countries. And be aware of WP:OR and WP:ETHNICITY which is quite frequent in your edits. Gotitbro (talk) 17:37, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Maliner. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Maliner (talk) 18:33, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Maliner:, Hello Mr. Can you explain?Jaunpurzada (talk) 18:34, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- You are removing well-sourced content from the article without adequately explaining why, per sources Jamia Ahmadiyya Sunnia Kamil Madrasa run by Anjuman Rahmania Trust is a notable organisation of the Barelvi movement. There is already a discussion relevant to it on article's talk. Please don't edit war. Maliner (talk) 18:38, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- I didn't remove [Jamia Ahmadiyya Sunnia Kamil Madrasa]] from the list at all, so you are lying now. Check my edit, I only removed the unsourced entries. You are edit warring by adding unsourced information again and again and pretending that I am removing the sourced information.Jaunpurzada (talk) 18:39, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Maliner (talk) 18:40, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- You removed Jamiya Anjuman Rahmania that is the another name of JAS Kamil Madras per source. Maliner (talk) 18:42, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- You are accusing me of what you are doing, how that makes sense? I removed the unsourced info, not JAS Kamil Madrasa so you are lying now. I removed the one which had no source. It is you who is "repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be"... It's you who is edit warring. Jaunpurzada (talk) 18:43, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- I have no issues with the removal of unsourced content. But you were literally removing WP:RS. Anyway, you are on your third revert today. See WP:3R. Maliner (talk) 18:50, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

- @Sitush: Can you please check the article Barelvi movement? Maliner keeps reverting my edits because I am removing the names of items on the Notable organizations and Main institutions section because they are not sourced. No source, no mention correct?

Recent name articles
editHello, a quick pointer on the recent name articles you've been creating: please separate the "notable people with the name include" line from the first name and do not use the word "bearers", rather use the standard line I just mentioned; and use a colon, not a semicolon at the end of that line. Lastly, the "popular in xyz" part of the first line is not necessary; simply say it is, for example, a Muslim masculine name. Thanks. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 00:49, 12 June 2024 (UTC)

For your information
editHi Jaunpurzada! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Majumdar that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Ekdalian (talk) 17:48, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Monica Yunus
editHello,
The wikipedia page about this lady states that she was raised in the United States from an early age by her mother's family. It also states that she learned various languages as a child that do not include Bangla. Yes, she may be entitled to a Bangla name if she chooses that, but the fact that her father is (an important) native of Bangladesh does not make her Bangladeshi unless she chooses that option. All statements in Wikipedia need to be linked to reliable sources, but I do not see that you have added any such sources. Best wishes, Sminthopsis84 (talk) 02:48, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
