Edits made to !votes
Please look at these five diffs: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] I believe that these are improper edits. You closed one of the AfDs, so you are a logical administrator to review these. Thank you, Unscintillating (talk) 14:01, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
- All of these !votes were made by INDIAN REVERTER which was blocked for AfD spamming per this ANI report. I don't dabble in vandalism management but for the record none of these !votes appears to be grounded in policy or even guideline. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:09, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
redirected article
Hey, first of all thank you for reviewing my page Nancy Ajram: Greatest Hits. I saw that you have redirected it to Nancy Ajram. The article was about an official "Greatest Hits" album by the singer and I provided reliable sources to it. I have read the policy and still don't understand why it has been redirected to the singer's main article. Can you please return it back as an article and I will fix it to fit Wikipedia policy? Thank you so much. (NAOFC (talk) 09:21, 2 October 2017 (UTC))
- Greetings, @NAOFC:. People here thought that there aren't enough sources talking about the album to justify an article. Such sources would have to be a) reliable (not user generated, for one thing) and b) somewhat substantial. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:49, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
Taciana Davidson
Hi Jo-Jo, thank you for reviewing the page User:Raymarkadamos/Taciana Davidson. can you move this back to my draft since I will be editing it adding more liable sources. I dont wanna start from scratch again.. thank you.Raymarkadamos (talk) 09:07, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- Done, @Raymarkadamos: but I strongly recommend that you either remove or source all the unsourced text in the draft right away. We heavily frown on such material in biographies of living people. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:49, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

Oriental Empires
[[11]] Hi I want to make this page again, it was deleted in January. The game has been in Early Access for a while and was recently released and it significant attention following its release - I think it is noticeable enough to have its own page now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiNiels13 (talk • contribs)
- Greetings. Does "significant attention" mean that multiple sources with a reputation for fact checking and accuracy are reporting on the game now? Because that is the requirement for it to have an article (Wikipedia:Notability (video games) might also help) Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:59, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

Page Deletion Mike Shaikh
Further to our previous discussion, currently Mike Shaikh is legally elected senator. His current title is Senator Elect. I am advocating on his behalf with his permission. Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:50, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of page : Ritam Banerjee
Hello Jo-Jo,
This is in reference to the deleted page for Ritam Banerjee. I am interested in reviving it with valid citations and updated content from the last 1 year since it was deleted. Would like to know if you can help in providing some exact reasons for deletion.
Thanks and Regards, Dev — Preceding unsigned comment added by Devleenas (talk • contribs) 14:31, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
- Greetings. Since you evidently find out that it was me who deleted Ritam Banerjee you may have noticed a link to this page where a number of people argued that too many sources that discuss the topic are a) self-published or b) unreliable. We cannot have articles without sources that are reliable. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:38, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

and on Special:Statistics will now only include Wikidata edits as activity on Wikidata and not on other wikis too. [13] - Previously you could create wiki links starting with two colons. Now you need to use one colon. [[::File:X.jpg]] now has to be [[:File:X.jpg]]. There is now a new Linter category. You can see a list on Special:Linterrors/multi-colon-escape. The Linter extension helps you find technical errors in articles. You can read more about using Linter. [14]
Problems
- You will not be able to edit or upload files to Commons for around 30 minutes on 11 October. This will start at 06:00 UTC. This is because of work to let Commons show 3D models. [15]
Changes later this week
- The font in the edit window is monospace by default. Today you can change preferences to another font family or use "the browser default" instead of monospace. Switching to the browser default has only changed the font on Macs. The option to use browser default will be removed this week. [16]
- If you want to print a page or make a PDF of a page you can do so in the side menu. The way the pages look when you do this will change. You can read more on mediawiki.org.

Deletion and incoming links
Hello! I saw you deleted an article about Scott Winkler. Would you please also remove all incoming links, as the article will never merit recreation. (This should be done by the deleter in general.) I took down a handful. Geschichte (talk) 18:02, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
- Greetings. I am reticent on removing links as it's never clear when a link will be useful or not - for all we know the topic will become notable in the future. (I take that this is about Scott Winkler (ice hockey)). Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 18:26, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
March (territorial entity)
Hello, Jo-Jo Eumerus – I noticed this edit to March (territorial entity). Do these need a source? – Corinne (talk) 15:15, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of article for Günter Bechly
Hi Jo-Jo, There's an article circulating on the Internet complaining that you deleted the page for Günter Bechly. He seems to be a reputable paleontologist with a considerable following. Was there a particular problem that you found with the article? Jerry — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:80c5:93f0:5125:8f5d:fa88:1d60 (talk • contribs)
- Greetings, 2602:306:80c5:93f0:5125:8f5d:fa88:1d60. A number of people on this page had concerns that the criteria we require article topics to satisfy were not met. For a person to have an article, multiple independent reliable sources need to exist which talk specifically about this person. It seems like we couldn't find any for Mr. Bechly, and having a number of species named after oneself is not a substitute. I personally have no opinion about the topic, but under policy if such concerns are raised and the article proposed for deletion, they must be addressed or the article will be removed. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:43, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Maybe it's because you were looking for Mr. Bechly when it's actually Dr Bechly, a notable paleontologist. I would like the information restored with links to his scholarly articles please.
This may help: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=byMvnWsAAAAJ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:a000:bd43:ce00:40ac:e859:eebd:5a89 (talk • contribs)

Page Deletion Mike Shaikh
Mr. Shaikh's elected position is Senator-Elect. Next year when an Alberta Senate seat becomes available he will be appointed Senator. Conquesttraining (talk) 04:40, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
- As I recommended, writing an article then might be a better idea. I am not well versed with Canadian politics and the AfD suggests that not all senators-elect go on to become actual senators (c.f @Madg2011, Bearcat, and Power~enwiki:). Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:08, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your advice. I dont believe I meet Wikipedias criteria for posting an article. Is it possible to repost the previous article so that I may provide edits. As I stated earlier, I have resources to support the facts. Conquesttraining (talk) 20:03, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
- I've merged this header into the previous one, as you don't need to write a new header for each post. I'll drafify the text to Draft:Mike Shaikh. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:19, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

- Greetings, @Melody.nabavi: The references look better than what was there before but I can't say I can easily gauge how reliable they are. Perhaps a trip through Wikipedia:Articles for creation would be warranted. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 09:11, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
Shahid Buttar
Why did you delete my article on Shahid Buttar? Were the seventeen sources I provided not enough to establish notability? Benjamin (talk) 06:20, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- Greetings, @Benjaminkuta: People here evidently didn't think so. Apparently a number of these were unreliable sources. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 09:08, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- Which ones, and why? Benjamin (talk) 09:09, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses and KalHolmann: can probably answer the questions better. However, too many of the sources appear to be self-published (Twitter, the subject's own website etc.) or appear to merely record the statements by Mr. Buttar without talking much about him. I just restored information you deleted in this article. I suggest you find sources to back up the text instead of just deleting it. Volcanoguy 13:31, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Volcanoguy: I did not find anything to support these statements. Maybe you have more luck/more access to sources than I do but you cannot expect other people to have the same source access as you. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:02, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

Recent changes
- When you edit a template with the visual editor it follows the template's

configuration on how to save it. You can now change the format in more powerful ways if your wiki wants it. [17][18] - The TwoColConflict extension is a new way to solve edit conflicts. It makes it easier to copy and paste the relevant text to the text field. It has been a beta feature for the last five months. You can now try out the new interface on a page where you will actually get simulated edit conflicts. You can give feedback to the developers.
Problems
- There is a problem with recent changes pages and your watchlist that show a large number of pages. Until it is fixed, Wikidata edits will not be shown on recent changes or in your watchlist on Commons or Russian Wikipedia. If necessary, Wikidata edits will be removed from all wikis. [19]
- Notifications are not working for some actions. For example some users don't get a notification when they are mentioned. The developers are working on fixing this. [20]
- Users on some wikis could not change their preferences. This has now been fixed. [21]
Changes later this week
- Editors and readers who still use Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP will not be able to use Wikipedia from 17 October. Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP can't connect securely to the wikis. When we allow them to do so it means that we get less security for everyone else. If you use Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP you can install Firefox 52 ESR instead. Around 0.1% of the traffic to the Wikimedia wikis comes from Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP. [22]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 17 October. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 18 October. It will be on all wikis from 19 October (calendar).

DYK for Lascar (volcano)
On 23 October 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Lascar (volcano), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Lascar volcano (pictured) has created at least one mushroom? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lascar (volcano). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Lascar (volcano)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Quick comment
I don't have a problem with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_schools_in_Jamaica_(2nd_nomination) which was nothing like the page envisaged when I started the article 12 years ago but I think perhaps you should have insisted that they looked at all the "Lists of Schools in" pages, of which there were hundreds, per WP:Lists, if that still exists as a policy

The company behind me/we
Jo Jo, I read that you deleted an article about Sgrouples Inc., the company behind me/we. Can you tell me where I might learn more about this company? Page Notes (talk) 14:15, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- Aye, it was deleted per this discussion. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:54, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- If you are asking about the company, the website might be a good start. As for Wikipedia's article, people in the discussion noted there is apparently no indication that sufficient reliable independent third-party coverage exists to justify an article. - The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 24 October. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 25 October. It will be on all wikis from 26 October (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 24 October at 18:30 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 25 October at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- There is a Structured Commons community focus group for Commons and Wikidata contributors who want to give input on structured data on Wikimedia Commons. You can sign up to join it. [26]

Page Deletion explanation?
Hi Jo-Jo, I am following the steps in the deletion review "please attempt to discuss the matter with the closing admin as this could resolve the matter more quickly". Forgive me if I'm in the wrong place I am new to messaging via Wikipedia. The article page Essential Beauty was deleted this month, I am trying to understand why? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Essential_Beauty 22:49, 23 October 2017 (UTC)EssentialBeauty (talk)
- Greetings, @EssentialBeauty:. As people noted in the discussion you linked nobody seems to be talking about the group the page was about, which makes it not notable in Wikipedia's terms. Incidentally, it's not a good idea to pick an username that is the same as the name of an organization. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:25, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for your tip on the username, I've fixed it. @Jo-Jo Eumerus: can you tell me what it would take for a group (company) with over 25 years history and employing hundreds of people across 70+ locations throughout Australia to be notable in the eyes of Wikipedia? We've been active on Wikipedia for a long time and use this space to share our history, achievements and progress, it was so disappointing to see it all deleted. Am I able to retrieve our old article content to use as a potential starting point for a re-write? Thanks in advance! JonD(AUS) (talk) 22:54, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
- @JonD(AUS): WP:NCORP explains some of the criteria. To make it brief, if other people with a reputation for accuracy (say, a major newspaper) who are not connected with your company have written substantial text about you, then an article is acceptable. DYK for Arago hotspot
On 26 October 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Arago hotspot, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Arago hotspot may have been creating volcanoes, islands, atolls, and seamounts such as Îles Maria, Tuvalu, and the Marshall Islands for the past 120 million years? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Arago hotspot. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Arago hotspot), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Reason for deletion of my wikipedia page
Hi Jo-Jo Eumerus,
I would like to know the reason why a wikipedia page has been deleted - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rizwan_Koita.
It was active for a long time until it was deleted recently. Please let me know how do I get this page back up.
Thanks, Edgar Stephens — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edgarjstephens (talk • contribs)
- Greetings, Mr. Stephens. People in this discussion claimed there is not enough written about Koita to justify an article on them. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:56, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
Path Solutions Deletion
Hi Jo-Jo, hope you're having a good Friday morning. I am new to Wikipedia so I am sorry if this is the wrong way to reach you or inappropriate. I was asked by someone I know to look at the page for a company they work at that got deleted. I make websites so apparently they think I know about Wikipedia too! I finally found the place the deletion was mentioned which had your name by it as the person doing the deletion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Path_Solutions From what I understand, they had a bunch of content on there that was kind of spammy like an advertisement, and a lack of references. I think they were in the process of changing that with better sources and content and the page got deleted, then they had someone else try to make a new page this week and that one got deleted because of this original deletion. However in looking at the people who suggested it be deleted, they actually referenced a different company by a similar name at this website: https://www.pathsolutions.com/company/news/ But the Path Solutions page that got deleted is based in Kuwait and working in Europe/Middle East/African countries, and isn't the same company, their website is here: http://www.path-solutions.com/ So it seems they may not have gotten a fair review since the reviewer was looking at the wrong company! They haven't given me money (I saw on Wikipedia I have to disclose that) and I don't plan to ask for any to help (which is why this is a Friday project during some end of week free time!), right now I am wanting to understand better how Wikipedia works and thought it'd be a good chance to try with this one before trying to help on other articles on WikiPedia. If it is possible to restore this page because of that error from the recommender let me know, I was trying to find out the process on Wikipedia and it said to talk to the admin who deleted it first.
Thanks again!

- Greetings, @Prospectiveperspectives:. First off, contacting other people on Wikipedia is what "User talk" pages are for, so you are on the right path here. Now for the article, the problem I see is that even if the participants in the deletion discussion you referenced got the company wrong, that does not automatically means it can be recreated; the article that was deleted (minus a bunch of copyright violations) was essentially an unsourced lead sentence plus a fairly spammy list. I think it may be better to recreate the article from scratch, using Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:56, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks @Jo-Jo Eumerus: I think you are right, recreating that one would be better. Sounds like a good weekend project! Once I try to publish it, do I need to put a notice on there that it is a new page to replace one that was deleted before, so it doesn't end up being deleted as a duplicate of a page that was deleted before? I saw that the G4 [1] criteria could apply to this particular page. Thanks! Prospectiveperspectives (talk) 16:32, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

An article mentioning you
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I thought you should know EvolutionNews.org is bashing you. I think they're trying to prove some point about Wikipedia users' immaturity. It's a poorly written article with poor research. Sorry about that. You seem like a nice guy. Eucalyptine (talk) 23:10, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- Fortunately, that's only propaganda from an unreliable source. —PaleoNeonate – 01:25, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
- Second time that article's been mentioned here. They certainly got my background right but a) the job of a closing admin is to assess the consensus in the discussion and not the merits of the article topic, and any human being of any education can perform this duty, b) deleting a Wikipedia article is not "erasing" someone and c) that source needs to spend more time reading Wikipedia:Notability and less time fishing around in people's backgrounds for stuff that doesn't affect the article's standing in one way or another.
- The only point I could see here is that using the name "notability" for our inclusion guidelines is ambiguous - certainly if Mr. Bechly has that many species named after him he is "notable" within the sense a number of people would use, just not in Wikipedia's terms. Thanking you for the info
Hi, thanks for the info you have given me. Was the Death of Aisling Symes deleted because of a lack of sources? Davidgoodheart (talk) 06:03, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
- Greetings. No, it was deleted (not by me) because it was judged to be too much newspaper like. Wikipedia does not aim to record every accidental death and this one was one. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 09:03, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
