[edit]

Nswix, please do not revert more than 20 edits as you did at Magomed Ankalaev like this edit. And why you removing {{Duplicated citations}} templates because I've triggered the edit filter? Please consider re-adding it. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 00:08, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, wasn't my intention, there was just too much vandalism to not nuke it back down to where it should have been, I just didn't see your edit in there. Nswix (talk) 00:12, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. I was tagged with {{Duplicated citations}} template before, but thanks for re-adding the template. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 00:17, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Biting newcomers

Hello! I'm Salmon of Knowledge. I noticed your conversation with ~2026-40413-01 at their talk page. It in, you appeared to have threatened to report them over their first violation of our manual of style. I'm bringing this up to you because in many cases, this would be considered biting a newcomer. People who are new to Wikipedia or don't participate in it at all, as is likely for someone using a temporary account, aren't going to know and abide by every aspect of our policies and guidelines. This is the reason we have incremental warning templates and other such devices to notify them of these violations, which gives us time to gauge faith and receptiveness. I don't mean to sound overbearing, but please keep this in mind when dealing with similar situations in the future. Try to be civil and assume good faith at all times, as otherwise, newcomers may feel threatened and discouraged from editing. All the best! Salmon of Knowledge (talk) 01:36, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

See the talk page of Talk:Inception#Ellen Page. The fourth paragraph of MOS:GENDERID that shouldn't change it as a former name. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 01:41, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I understand that. I wasn't referring to whether you were correct on a content basis, but on a conduct basis. Even if you believe another user did something wrong, it's best to maintain civility and assume good faith, especially when there's no indication otherwise and its their first offense. Doing otherwise can create an unwelcoming environment and stifle collaboration between each other, which goes contrary to the foundational pillars of this project. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this going forward. As always, this is just a friendly reminder about our code of conduct, nothing larger. Thanks! Salmon of Knowledge (talk) 01:52, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I felt they were being a bit harsh, but it's ok. I have no ill will towards them threatening to report me. ~2026-40413-01 (talk) 01:54, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. Also, you misleading edit summary was "typo". In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 01:56, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Pinging for redirect categorization

[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hello, I'm aware of redirect categorizations, please do not ping me multiple times in a row to remind me of them. I purposely do not do them; they are low impact work. I'm not alone in feeling this way. grapesurgeon (talk) 05:57, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

When you creating redirects or moving page, it must provide redirect categories at least one. Sorry for pinging in the edit summary, but I struggled to type in the edit summary on my mobile. I've never chat on Wikimedia Discord server. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 06:13, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I understand it is ideal that every redirect gets categorized, but again it is really low impact work. Can you name what the impact of that work is on readers or even editors? It is not that significant compared to the time I could be spending writing. grapesurgeon (talk) 06:15, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
The impact of categorizing redirects enchances navigation, improves searchability, and aids in maintaining the quality of information, benefiting both readers and editors. I don't using Capricorn script to modify redirect categories. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 08:51, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Sarahjaneduck (21:45, 30 July 2026)

[edit]

Hello! Is there a way to view open tasks for pages I am more interested/knowledgeable in, rather than the editing tasks that are fed to me when I go to the homepage? --Sarahjaneduck (talk) 21:45, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Category

[edit]

I'm not sure why you deleted this category. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 11:44, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Magnolia677: Realcosmixyt was recently created new categories: Category:Artists that declined XXL Freshmen (now tagged as proposed deletion at the category's entry) and Category:XXL Freshmen. I've mass rollback edits by Realcosmixyt over 150 edits, but isn't defining categories at all. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 13:11, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ah...I see. I wrote that article years ago after seeing him in a magazine, and it gets about five million views per year! Hey, cheers!Magnolia677 (talk) 14:36, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Um...I see that Category:XXL Freshmen hasn't been nominated for deletion, and it was added to Kodak Black (who was an XXL freshman), but you deleted the category from his article. I'm confused. Magnolia677 (talk) 15:10, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. But the that category Category:XXL Freshmen hasn't nominated for deletion. No need to confused it. Please ask Binksternet's talk page. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 16:41, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I just had to re-add all of the categories back to the right articles. Please do not revert edits without checking them! I just had to spend the last hour repeating the same thing. ReelCosmix (talk) 18:29, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Basis for 3‑day warning limit

[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hi KuyaMoHirowo, I was wondering if you could point me to the policy behind your comment about warnings after three days. From what I understand, warnings are usually based on user behavior rather than a set time frame. Thanks for clarifying! . AriuCH (talk) 10:32, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

3-day gap revert period is unhelpful, but please consider giving this warn user if the user was reverted or unconstructive edit. In solidarity, KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 10:35, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but I still don’t see which policy supports a 3‑day limit. AriuCH (talk) 10:56, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Organized Labour September Editing Event

[edit]

You're invited to join the Organized Labour community editing event, a cross-wiki event taking place throughout September 2026!

The campaign brings together Wikimedians interested in improving coverage of organised labour, workers, trade unions, and labour history. We have confirmed collaborations with Wikipedia language editions in English, Dutch, Persian, Serbo-Croatian and French. If you want to add other language editions or other wiki projects you are strongly encouraged to do so! This event spans geography and languages!

This is a one-time invitation. You're receiving it because you previously signed a petition related to Wiki Workers United (WWU). We hope you'll join us!
