Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Mj63 2.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Mj63 2.jpg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Mj63 2.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. License tagging for Image:Roy kidd unevada 2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Roy kidd unevada 2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

AfD nomination of Monty Joe Lovell

edit

Monty Joe Lovell, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Monty Joe Lovell satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Monty Joe Lovell and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Monty Joe Lovell during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mjlovellnov2006.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Mjlovellnov2006.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Speedy deletion of Washington and Lee Swing

edit

A tag has been placed on Washington and Lee Swing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. DustiSPEAK!! 00:40, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Ring_lardner2.jpg

edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Ring_lardner2.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 10:16, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source/license for Image:Oldmadisontitled.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Oldmadisontitled.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Proposed deletion of Joseph "Sport" Sullivan

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Joseph "Sport" Sullivan, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. License tagging for Image:Combs_Ruth_Meusel_1927.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Combs_Ruth_Meusel_1927.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 07:21, 2 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Gandil_on_trial_1921.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:22, 7 December 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 02:22, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Eli Capilouto, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://main.uab.edu/Sites/provost/55692.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Eddie Brigati and Garfield High School (New Jersey)

edit

I agree that Eddie Brigati is notable. He has an article and the sources you added to his entry in the article for Garfield High School (New Jersey) only further establish his notability. The problem is that they make no mention of Eddie Brigati attending Garfield High School. As such the sources will be removed from the article. I have searched in Google / News / Archives / Books and not found anything to establish the connection. Please add only those reliable and verifiable sources that support the connection between Eddie Brigati and Garfield HS. Alansohn (talk) 17:54, 14 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edit to the article for Garfield High School uses this source from Public School Review as a reference. The problem is that Public School Review uses Wikipedia as its source for information, as stated in a note at the bottom of the page. References for Irvine-McDowell Park

edit

Your recent contribution(s) to the Wikipedia article Irvine-McDowell Park are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? Speedy deletion nomination of The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Eddie Brigati photo

edit

Hi! Back in 2011 I moved an image uploaded by you to Commons (Eddie brigati june 1984.jpg). Now it's been deleted because someone pointed out that the same image is used elsewhere on the Internet. In these cases it's often hard to know exactly who is copying who – external sites often use images from Commons and don't always indicate where the image comes from even if the license requires it. Was the photo taken by you originally? Regards, Jafeluv (talk) 14:00, 24 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I took the picture myself in 1984. It would be difficult to prove that I had committed a copyright violation for using an image I created. Why would you take it upon yourself to remove my image? The man is my brother-in-law. <shrug> Ky1958 (talk)

Speedy deletion nomination of Central University (Richmond, Kentucky)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Central University (Richmond, Kentucky) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.lostcolleges.com/central-university. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
