Age of admins
editCertainly, it is possible for a 15-year-olds to be a responsible admin. However, from the perspective of someone who is much older, I find that it is less likely that a 15 year old has the ability to stand in the middle of a heated disagreement and keep cool. If Mets had a significant history talking to others, dealing with controversy, and discussing policy, I would not have brought up age as an issue, but since I did not find evidence of how he behaves under pressure age became more of an issue. -- Samuel Wantman 06:26, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean by a "double digit brain cell" and what you think is a misconception. I know some amazing 15 year olds that are more capable than many 50 year olds. However, a 15-year-old has at most 15 years of experience with other people, and perhaps just a few years trying to mediate conflicts purely verbally. So I don't think it is a misconception to state that more 15-year-olds would fail miserably as Wikipedian admins than those with more life experience. As I have said I am more than willing to respond positively to a 15-year-old who shows evidence of maturity, but without evidence, I am more likely to oppose. -- Samuel Wantman 06:40, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
VandalProof Moderators
editSorry, forgot to post this when I made you a mod:
Thank you for your willingness in helping me out with VandalProof! You've now been made a moderator, so when you load VandalProof the next time, you should see 'Moderator' in front of your username, and you should also find the Moderate List item under the User Tools menu. I've made a very basic page explaining what's expected of moderators and how to do certain tasks, which can be found here: User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof/ModeratorTools. If you change your mind and don't want to moderate, please contact me. Again, thanks! AmiDaniel (Talk) 06:51, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
New Sig
editAh! huge relief you changed your signature. I hated the old one, could'nt see a thing! Probably was the reason for all the oppose votes in your RFA, think your fortunes will change now. :D Srikeit(talk ¦ ✉) 09:21, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
CJ summary removal of bone fide member

editYour RfA
editMaster of Puppets make sure not to let your RfA discourage you or anything, I've seen too many users leave Wikipedia after their RfA and I would hate to see that happen to you. Also I suggest that you don't withdraw your RfA, you never know what may happen. At first my RfA was doing poorly but in the end it succeeded. Also don't take people's objections personally, the users who know you know that you are a friendly and kind user and that some of those oppose votes might be harsh. Jedi6-(need help?) 21:39, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

My vote on your RFA
editI seriously want to support you on your RFA because you are my friend and I believe you would uphold the duty to the best of your ability but after telling me that you were considering a nom in July or around that time, I couldn't support you. If you don't pass this time, retry in August or somewhere around that time. ;-) Moe ε 22:17, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

VP Bug
editThis happened again. I'm gonna go ahead and take you off the mod list until you get your IE bug fixed or until we can resolve your VP problems. I truly would appreciate your help once we can get this sorted out, but for now I think it's best this way. Sorry. AmiDaniel (Talk) 01:28, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
The happy vandal
editThanks for reverting my user page; I'm flattered that it's on your watchlist. Believe it or not, I'm pretty sure that the "vandal" is a friend of mine from school. I'm going to give his summary a little place on my userpage as well. TheJabberwʘck 04:15, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
seven nations albums
editThe reason that those two pages say what they say is because I was trying to work on the pages for each of those albums and one of the things that needs to be done is to put them in the category of seven nations albums. I don't understand exactly why the two pages say exactly the same thing as the category page instead of containing a link to the category page. If you know how to fix this would you please help me and let me know what I did wrong? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Willsketch (talk • contribs) 04:20, 28 April 2006Old Ground is what you made changes to. You made it a redirect back to the Seven Nations article.
Some sort of favour?

Barnstar Thanks!
editThank you so much for the Barnstar. Thats my fourth in the past 8 days! Seriously I've been eating, drinking, sleeping (unfortunately I have to get up to go to the loo, I don't have a laptop ;) ) on Wikipedia for the past two weeks or so. I've been considering to run for adminship for a while now. Do you think I should first put myself for Editor's review first?
Cheers

- I agree with the part about getting more Wikipedia space & namespace edits. Namespace is not a problem, I've been on RC patrol with VandalProof & will get to the desirable namespace count. But for Wikipedia space I've been voting for RFA's & I just started reporting stuff to the WP:AIV noticeboard yesterday. Anyplace else I can work? I've tried to vote in AFD's but was too caught up in my mainspace work. BTW what about mainspace edits, do you think I have enough? I'll hit 3000 edits today so that'll rise a little. Srikeit(talk ¦ ✉) 05:53, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
User page
editWow, this is the first I've ever had the time to take a look over your userpage... which is odd, because I know I've reviewed some of your contributions for a vote on your RfA. At any rate, it's pretty impressive to look at. With you hinting at being able to give me a hand with mine sooner or later, I'm thinking I'm gonna have to bump up my return offer of an NPOV check to... uh... hm... a haiku written in your honor. Yeah, that'll be good. Tijuana Brass¡Épa!-E@ 12:53, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
RfA Status
editAs your nominator, I recommend you withdraw and wait a few months so that can you rectify some of the problems cited by the opposition in your RfA. Namely, low mainspace article count, 100% edit summaries, and less 'fluffy' contributions. Once you have corrected all these problems you're a shoe in to become an admin. TDS email 14:34, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- You need to start putting seperate discussions under seperate headers, rather then bundling them together under 'Welcome to Esperanza.' TDS email 14:38, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Trading spaces
editHello, Master of Puppets, thank you for signing up to participate in Esperanza's trading spaces program. As you requested to renovate another user's page, you will be renovating DaGizza's userpage. Please contact DaGizza on their talk page about the renovating. The renovating will be listed at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Programs#Undergoing_Renovation, please feel free to update the status as it changes. Enjoy!

rfa thanks
editM o P, thanks for your support on my RFA. It was, as well, my pleasure to support you on your own RFA. I sincerely hope that you stick it through and succeed, or if you withdraw, that you try again in the future: you'll assuredly succeed. Re: RFA
editWell, you certainly can comment on others' votes; it's just that it's usually considered poor form at best and harrassment at worst. There are many things an editor can do on Wikipedia which would disqualify him for adminiship, in my opinion. Now, your comments have been polite, for the most part, and I don't think you were being rude or harrassing. However, you should realize that many people, I included, may accept one or two comments clearing up a point, but feel that candidates should not "debate" or "rebut" all the opposition points. In particular, if the candidate has already addressed the point with another user, he should not repeat this each time someone votes with similar reasoning. A suitable alternative would be placing remarks in the "comments" section, explaining and clarifying, rather than making it personal by attaching it to individual's comments. — Knowledge Seeker দ 05:05, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Requests for adminship are high-stress situations, and I've seen more than user leave Wikipedia as a result. Your current approach appears reasonable to me. You might also keep an eye on RFA for awhile to see how other users handle the situation; that'll probably give you better guidance than anything I can say. Good luck for next time! — Knowledge Seeker দ 04:27, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Well, I was looking at the page and i saw that most of the sections could be expanded. I saw that there were others that couldn't. Would there be someway for me to change that? I believe that I may know how to change the colours for later. I love them for now but in time may wish to change them. Again, I am so sorry about the time it took for me to respond. Proposition
editHi. You probably have no idea who I am, but from what I gather you have a good taste in music, and I am fairly sure I've seen you on WP:Pro Wrestling. Is there any chance of collaborating and starting a Wikiproject about the music of wrestling (PPV themes, WWE produced albums, Entrance Music etc)? I would do it myself but I guarantee you I would muck it up. please consider this, as I feel, maybe with the help of Paulley, JFred and if he doesn't quit - God I hope he doesn't - Moe Epsilon, all of whom I will contact, we would make a damn good team. Thanks. Kingfisherswift 12:33, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
I have seen you are quite the designer, so if you could, could you make a template to put on discussions of pages linking to Wikipedia:WikiProject Music of wrestling. That would be great. Cheers. Kingfisherswift 10:36, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

It's OK - don't worry, Oakster came up with one. If you want to create a basic one that links them all to WP:MoW, be my guest and we'll use both, but you don't have to worry. Is there a project on Rock Music? - I too am a rabid fan all bands with a guitar that goes to 11. Kingfisherswift 18:26, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

I must be doing something right!!!
editI am not a recent changes watcher(much) but browsed a few just for fun and ended up catching an anon IP with a vicious personal agenda. I put VandalProof to good use and rv'd him. He decided he didn't like me and attacked my user page several times. A couple of good samaritans jumped in and rescued it. That's the first time I've raised the ire of a pea-brain'd editor enough to go after me personally. Makes me SO proud! and BTW, no matter how your rfa goes, you'll always have my "wiki"-respect. Cheers and take care! Anger22 00:11, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
RfA
editHi MoP. As your nominator, I am again advising you to withdraw your RfA and run again in a few months so that you can work on the weaknesses listed in your RfA. I think the opposition is too great for any bureaucrat to actually promote you now. It would be better to show that you are willing to work on these problems, and that you yourself can see them, then to drag this whole affair out. TDS | talk | email 00:27, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Re: DaGizza's userpage
editThanks for replying, I have seen what you are capable of on Srikeit's, Bananagirl and your own userpage. Can you show me any other pages your renovated? I have thought about putting some of my info on a sub-page while the rest can be organised in a portal style. For colours, I like all types blues, yellows, oranges ... maybe the dominant one teal?
