RE:Sandbox
editI know, I know. Boy, this is so embarrassing... I apologized to him/her on their talk page already. You see, I reduce the Article Name section in VandalProof recent changes, or at least used to until now. So when I saw an edit made by a user on my black list (I just put him there, and who knew - this one actually did use the sandbox...) in an article marked "Wikipedia..." I didn't think twice (happens to me often). I hope the guy doesn't start vandalising because of this. --Chodorkovskiy (talk) 17:31, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Monobook
editTwo things. One, the RC script already has popupsdev. Hopefully, you didn't add a line for popups since its included in the script. Second, press cntrl-F5 and you should see more tabs :). Also, rollback is now faster.Voice-of-AllT|@|ESP 01:50, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- I also removed the line for popups that you had in, in the history you still have a line for it, but for regular popups, either way it is redundant, since the RC script comes with it, so including it twice can only cause trouble.Voice-of-AllT|@|ESP 01:52, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Concerning my "vandalism"...
editBud, I didn't 'vandalise' anything. Freakofnature has a page dedicated to vandalizing, and I took advantage of that. It says specifically, "vandalise here". --69.145.122.209 02:31, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- I do the same thing if I'm ever patrolling recent changes, so it's not a problem. I'll get to the account... Soon as I join the procrastinator's club... Eventually... --69.145.122.209 02:34, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Shan't be a problem for a long time, as the computer that we have now has great Internet acess and we have no plans changing. My IP doesn't change, either. Although I am planning on registering at some point.--69.145.122.209 02:39, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

RE:Your comments on my RFA
editWell, I did go nuts for a while; I've created about 3 articles (not FA or anything, but still :P); Vibroweapons, Character Builds in the Guild Wars Universe (helped create it), Equipment in the Guild Wars Universe, a lot of stuff to Guild Wars itself, and User:Master of Puppets/Ships in Homeworld 2. So I think if I keep trying, I'll pass next time. Anyway, thanks for the comments! :) Oh, and this isn't intended you pressure you into changing your vote; its your vote, I'm not gonna meddle with it. Just some people get the idea that I'm "bullying" them. _-M o P-_ 21:37, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Keep up the article editing! I'm serious when I say you could get an article like Guild Wars to FA. Don't sweat the RfA; you'll be an admin soon enough. Hope the weather's good in the Peg. Cheers -- Samir (the scope) धर्म 03:54, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Re: DaGizza's userpage
editAlright, blue/green/teal would be fine in a similar style to Bananagirl's. For dividing my page into sections, I think a good way would be userboxes, my to-do list, my contibutions at Wiki and leave the rest as miscellaneous for the moment! GizzaChat © 11:10, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi Master of Puppets - just wondering where you got the source file for Image:MusicInWrestling.jpg. If the source file is a copyrighted image, then you can't release the derivative file into the public domain. See Wikipedia:Image use policy for more information. Happy editing! --Jtalledo (talk) 18:43, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
No Problem
edit- Haha no problem. And I wouldn't have minded getting dragged into it. However, it does make me think about whether or not I want to somehow revise my signature. Currently, I'm thinking 'nah'. :P — Ilyanep (Talk) 02:19, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- If you really want to then do what you want :) . I'd suggest making the e stand out somehow other than font sizes (make it green or something), cause it kind of stretches the sig on viewing. Definately cuts down on the code though :P
- And I agree -- I don't really see how maturity correlates with sig size. I know and respect a great deal of people who [happen to] even go as far as put images in theirs. Not that I condone that. — Ilyanep (Talk) 02:23, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Troll
editThanks for warning the guy from my talk page; sadly, you've wasted your breath. He's a disgruntled troll who was stirring up trouble in the #wikimedia channel, and I kickbanned him from it. Having set the IP ban on him in the channel, I happen to know he was connected via AOL, and universities don't use AOL. He should really try to have his story straight before he speaks; it's not a good idea to try lying about being senior faculty at a university to someone (like me) who *is* senior faculty at a university. Essjay (Talk • Connect) 04:40, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Your personal attack
editI see your fellow administrator has continued the name calling and personal attacks against me on your use page. Thank you. Our purpose was to demonstrate that Wikipedia administrators use personal attacks as a standard tool of their trade.
If you plan to communicate with me you will need to start by listening and internalizing what I've said. I'm not inclined to talk with people who tell me what to say and how to say it. I'm also not inclined to converse with people who attempt to impose on me their ideological values. Neutrality is a philosophy related to content of articles. Even considering your demand for my neutrality, I stated facts which are pretty darn neutral. Senior staff in one department of a major university witnessed in about 20 minutes time a mob attack in the IRC channel that silenced discussion of typical editorial concerns. You have expanded the attack by appearing here to tell me your demands comprise an attempt to mediate a conflict about which you know nothing. Why Do You Hate ? 04:45, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Re: RFA
editI agree; I did not mean to imply that I was worried about you personally. You seem to have quite a healthy attitude. One final note: I don't know if I'm misunderstanding, but at the top of your talk page you have a notice "Guidelines (PLEASE READ)" but there aren't any guidelines mentioned. (Is this your way of saying you have no rules governing your talk page?) Below it there is just a box that asking users to click for archived discussions, but when I click it nothing happens. Your RfA
editHey there! Too bad you didn't make it. But frankly, when I saw your RfA added, it struck me as "too premature to succeed". And most of the oppose votes seem to prove that. Keep up the great work and I'm pretty sure that in like 2 months it'll be a success. Cheers! Misza13 T C 22:07, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Sorry to see that it didn't pass - nice job anyway though, you have lots of support, and will surely get it next time. :) -- Natalya 22:20, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah...your support rate was almost 75%, which is about as good as a Rfa gets when it doesn't work. I suspect your high edits for the user namespace have to do with the status changer in your monobook, as it adds an edit to your contribs every time you put "online," "offline," or "busy." I'm sure another Rfa a few weeks or months from now will yield a better turnout.--The ikiroid (talk)(Help Me Improve) 22:32, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
RfA
editA hint about adminship . . .
I noticed a lot of people voted against you because they thought your signature wasn't good. My god, what sort of reason is that! However, I would recommend changing your signature a couple days before you try again. You could use:
and then revert to your current sig after you became an admin.
Sorry you didn't make it.
--Primate#101 22:44, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, yeah, I suppose it would. However, it still is a stupid reason not to oppose for your sig.
- P.S. Your proposed signature is cool! I'd use it, if I were you (but I'm not, so it's your decision :)
My condolences

Nomination for adminship
edit- Unfortunately, your nomination for adminship was unsuccessful. I hope that you will remain active and consider standing again in future. Remember that a majority of editors voting supported your nomination, and many of those who objected are waiting to see more of your work! Warofdreams talk 23:04, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Primate, how shallow (and silly) of a reason was it just because they didn't like your signature — as if appearence has anything to do with the ability of an editor! Anyway, I'm sorry your RfA wasn't successful, and I wish the best of luck next time you try/ You'll always have my support, MoP, and remember that there are a lot of others who supported you and will next time, so don't give up, alright? (But perhaps I needn't have said that, because I know you won't). :) —Mirlen 00:08, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Your Header
editOn your userpage header, you used the template {{titled-click}}. When you put the icons in your header, you forgot a parameter. You have all the parameters, except for "title" (The title is what it shows when you hover the mouse over it.) So, currently, you have {{titled-click|link=User:Master of Puppets|image=Nuvola apps kfm home.png|width=50px|height=50px}}, when you should have{{titled-click|link=User:Master of Puppets|image=Nuvola apps kfm home.png|width=50px|height=50px|title=whatever title you want}}.
Oh and thanks for working on my requested image. --GeorgeMoneyTalk Contribs 06:13, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

reverting vandals
editPlease be careful when reverting vandals using popups. Some pages are heavily vandalized and there happen several anon vandals stack in the history. Therefore ALWAYS check the previous history, not just last edit. `'mikka (t) 03:13, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Master! How do you and all the other old-timers put such long edit summaries in when reverting vandals? Whenever I try that, someone will beat me to the punch--sometimes the villain himself!--MrFishGo Fish 16:55, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. That solves the mystery. I can't get it to work though; I get some weird debugging thing. I am not a computer programmer, so I must continue to use "rvv" as my edit summary.--MrFishGo Fish 18:49, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I can't take a screenshot; it's a mini-window, whatever you call it. Wikipedia says "Please wait, reverting edits" and so on and then a pop up says"Error a runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug? Line:74 Error:Object doesn't support this property or method." Clicking yes and using Microsoft script editor, lines 68-82 look like this:
Like I said, I'm am not a programmer in any way. I will be on break soon anyhow. Thank you for being so kind. I see that your RfA failed because too many of your edits are outside of the article mainspace, and I am sure that I am not helping:) When your done you should fix the fact that I made this page very fat. Also, you should know that the section edit buttons on the right side are off by one topic.--MrFishGo Fish 23:37, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Warnings
editHi there, I noticed you were reverting in a frenzy earlier, but you unfortunately forgot to warn some of the vandals. The key part to fighting vandalism is warning the offenders, as if they don't see any opposition, they'll keep doing it. Thanks, MoppEr zOMG! 23:01, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say that in my 7000+ reverts I've added warnings at least 90% of the time. If I'm on the busy side I'll occasionally neglect it. Personally, I think it's more effective to revert the vandalism quickly (for the same reasons that painting over grafitti quickly discourages it). A lot of these middle school kids or AOL proxy users don't care if their IP gets blocked. Reverting the edits within seconds will hopefully send that message that their efforts are futile. - Looks good so far...you've figured out my favorite colors with no problem. (I painted one of my cars orange and another is reddish-orange). Thanks again! OhNoitsJamieTalk 00:07, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Your sig
editWhat happened to your sig? You totally ruined it. I liked the old one better. --GeorgeMoneyTalk Contribs 00:38, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- I really don't know why people think that "your signature makes you immature", or "how many lines your sig takes up is bad". My sig takes up many lines. Also, I don't know why in your RfA, people were talking about "you don't have enough Main Namespace edits". Everything on Wikipedia is all linked to articles in the main namespace. For example, if people have nice userpages, then new editors will stay and edit articles. If you edit user talk pages, you warn them for vandalism of articles. Categories help categorize articles. Wikipedia namespace things such as WikiProjects all want to help articles. What I am trying to say is that everything on wikipedia is related to articles, and that's all that matters. --GeorgeMoneyTalk Contribs 00:51, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Question
editHi, MoP. It's me, Evan. Sorry you didn't become admin. You're one of the most valuable non-admin Wikipedians I know of. I was wondering when you are going to run again.
Also, I've been wondering what Wikipedians look for when voting for/against users running for adminship. Ever since I created my account, I wanted to become admin. Of course, I don't plan on running anytime soon (:P.) I'll probably run in 2007 or maybe December 2006.
Thanks!
--Evan Robidoux 00:50, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
