President of Brazil
You are provoking an unnecessary edit war. The term of President of Brazil ended at midnight on January 1st. This date is even applied in ptwiki, pt:Jair Bolsonaro. See Biblioteca Presidencia, Lula's first mandate, for example, 2003-2007. Also according font 1 and font 2. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 22:52, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

New working group
Dear @OrionNimrod: and @Gyalu22:! I've created a sub-page under my userpage: User:Norden1990/Identification of Hungarian royalty. We hope that this will be the basis of a successful article that all three of us can work on. Feel free to edit. We can discuss all important things on the talk page belonging to this sub-page. We can freely discuss in Hungarian, since it is a non-public talk page. If you know editor(s) who might be interested in this project, feel free to include them in the work. --Norden1990 (talk) 21:30, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
Ciz Ispán
Hello again
Do you happen to have any more information on the Ispan called Ciz during the time of Stephen II?
Kind regards
~ Gibby01 (talk) 17:06, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Gibby01:. His name is mentioned by the Illuminated Chronicle only. He was killed during the Byzantine–Hungarian War (1127–1129). His office is unknown. Historian Gyula Pauler identified his name with the Slavic-sounding Chys or Chyz ("Csiz"), which name relatively frequently appears within the Bogátradvány clan of Bohemian origin. There were also locations called Chys in Gömör and Csongrád counties (Gy. --Norden1990 (talk) 20:03, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. I found an old book that connects it to Turkic çiz, siz "to draw, cut, engrave", and claims the original form of the name was was Csize or Csizi, "painful", but that name isn't recorded in any Turkic context elsewhere. A Slavic connection sounds much more logical in that case. Reference: TURUL A Magyar Heraldikai és Genealógiai Társaság Közlöny, FEJÉRPATAKY LÁSZLÓ
- This book should be available online, I've noticed there are multiple books but not all of them deal with etymologies. Unfortunately I've never found anything about Velek though.
- PS: Do you also know if the Szálok genus claimed descend from Tonuzoba? Anonymous mentions this was the name of Ösbő's son. The wiki article on Tonuzoba says clan Szálok descends from him and the Szálok genus wiki claims the first known ancestor of the clan was called Baja, but both are unsourced. Gibby01 (talk) 21:18, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
Beside Anonymus, members of the Szalók clan first appeared in contemporary records only in the last decades of the 13th century. So their origin is very unclear. I'am not sure about their connection with Tonuzoba, who – as historians agree – was ancestor of the Tomaj clan of Pecheneg origin. --Norden1990 (talk) 21:34, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Hi Norden1990. You've added the short form reference "B. Nagy 2013" to Byzantine–Hungarian War (1180–1185), but that work isn't defined in the article. It's seems unlikely but you did mean "B. Szabó 2013"? -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 12:53, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Coat of arms
Hi Norden1990! Could you give me advice? I am updating this article: List of Hungarian monarchs. I am not sure the coat of arms of Peter Orseolo and Samuel Aba, I know they are usually on the family tree of the Arpad dynasty. What is your opinion? What would be the correct? Or it is ok what I did? OrionNimrod (talk) 09:44, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hm. I think your version is OK, because both of them are considered rulers from the Árpád dynasty. In Wikimedia Commons, you can find coat-of-arms of the Aba kindred and the House of Orseolo, but including them in the list I think exhausts the concept of WP:OR. --Norden1990 (talk) 21:41, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

Szia! (480 oldalas a könyv.) Kösz előre is Pallor (talk) 09:05, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Baky Albert
Szia. Köszi a szép szavaidat. Baky Albert festménye, 1896" A könyv: Nagy csaták 15. Hermann Róbert: A magyar önvédelmi háború 1848-1849, 76 o.
--Sylvain1975 (talk) 13:52, 01 May 2023 (UTC)
--Norden1990 (talk) 19:13, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
Sylvain1975 (talk) 19:56, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello. I was discouraged when I saw this edit of yours [1] despite the clear neutrality problem in the article. I please ask some good faith and for comprehension for the other side. Lampert
Szia! OrionNimrod (talk) 11:57, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
--Norden1990 (talk) 20:55, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Epithoma
Hi Norden1990! I really do not understand why in every source Epithoma rerum Hungaricarum this work has different names, you can check the marked sources on the article, all academic and use different names:
Epithoma rerum Hungaricarum
Epithoma rerum Hungararum
Epithoma rerum Hungarorum
Epithoma rerum Ungaricarum
Do you know any solution?
OrionNimrod (talk) 09:42, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- I do not know. Perhaps because these titles are post-issues by publishers, archivists, etc. --Norden1990 (talk) 10:03, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- I found some write Epithoma, some Epitome, some Epitoma, what would be the main title? The corvina one? https://corvina.hu/en/corvina/virtual-corvinas/codlat249-en/
"Epitome rerum Hungaricarum" or the easier "Epithoma rerum Hungarorum"? OrionNimrod (talk) 11:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- I think the current title of the article is OK. You can create redirects with the other frequent titles. --Norden1990 (talk) 11:25, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
@OrionNimrod:, in order to avoid WP:Overlinking, it is sufficient to wikilink the appearing proper names at their first appearance. Although I know that the article is not ready yet, I think it is definitely worth addressing the geographical aspects of the chronicle, as it is a very valuable source in this respect, much more valuable than its historical part. A preface study of the Hungarian-language version [4] contains clever analysis. --Norden1990 (talk) 16:14, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

King Charles II
Hi @Norden1990
Charles III of Naples, he is called "short", but in Hungarian it would be proper to use the "little" word, I also see in the Latin translation is "little" from "paruus" what is in the picture [5]

Szabados
Frankly, I'm very disappointed to see that you're giving the benefit of doubt to someone who peddles the "double conquest" pseudohistory. Szabados is obviously a very biased "historian", which is why he was employed by Orban. The fact that you believe that people are "political" and "biased" for pointing this out, is just pure projection on your part. Azure94 (talk) 14:52, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Azure94 about the bias.
- You added this content here: [6] then marked this source: [7] Well I contacted with the author, Kocsis Károly. He provided me the source [8] he said he did not say that thing in that source what you put in the article, he said that is true for the pre-Trianon Hungary and not for the postwar Hungary. So please follow your advice what you provided me "Be more careful next time" Talk:Gesta Hungarorum#Dennis Deletant
- However the double standard is certain, in some cases your personal pov is more important for you than the academic sources (just Wikipedia is not a personal bog) I see you are not so carefully when you deliberately refuse the usage of the language of 30+ academic sources (several authors from several countries) and even you refuse to use the language of your favorite political blogger Balogh in this case: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Hungary#Agressive edit war on Hungarian topics. Well at least I used sources from many kind of historians as I am not political biased as you.
- I am very disappointed that you harrass Hungarian editors and you make a witch hunt against academic Hungarian historians. You know that always the actual Hungarian government give the payslip for all Hungarian employee (more than million of people, all employed personally by Orban :D), schools, universities, institutes, kindergardens, hospitals, railways, municipalities, factories, churches, etc etc... and in all country is same.
- I bet you did not read the works of Szabados at all. I would be very interesting which content by Szabados here Emese is not good? Please talk about the content not about the person. OrionNimrod (talk) 15:15, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

Battle checking
Hi! Could you check the newly created article? Talk:Battle of Tahtalu
Is the provided Islamic encyclopedia is reliable or not? (written by users like Wiki?)
Because an article written by an user which claim the 14 years old King Matthias of Hungary attacked an Ottoman area deep in Serbia with 50,000 solders against Mehmed II and lost. But I do not find anything about this in Hungarian sources, I suppose it should be any mention of this high scale royal campaign if it was real.
Do you know anything about this? OrionNimrod (talk) 18:42, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
- İslâm Ansiklopedisi is a reliable academic source. I never heard of this battle (which is not surprising, because I am not an expert on the era). You can check the 1458–59 events here: [11]. Currently, Tamás Pálosfalvi is the most significant expert of the 15th-century Hungary and the Hungarian–Ottoman wars, so I recommend to study his publications. --Norden1990 (talk) 19:29, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

- Tarih-i Üngürüs: Veszprémy 2019
- OrionNimrod (talk) 22:42, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- A Tarih-i Üngürüs nekem megvan, az 1982-es legelső magyar fordítás (Magvető).
Igen látom a krónika családokat.

--Norden1990 (talk) 21:46, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

- No problem; I've marked several subsections with {{quotefarm}} because they have lengthy quotations that don't provide much context to the article. I also think the lead should be expanded to summarize the article. Anyway, good luck with the article and cheers, Baffle☿gab 03:51, 25 October 2023 (UTC).
