Hi. When you recently edited Matteo Visconti, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Lodi and Crema (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Welcome message at User talk:211.11.134.217

HI, PeaceRay, i dont know if you can support the arguement that if a person is being forcibly detained by a group of men who want to murder someone, it would take more than a few seconds; or are you saying that the Imperial Secret Service were incompetent and incapable of killing one man in 12 days?

anyway, you probably just deleted it for spite, having read that Obama also easily obtained suspicious documentation from Hawaii... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.11.134.217 (talk) 19:53, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

(Anonymous editor from) 211.11.134.217,
If you check Sun Yat-sen: Revision history, you will see that I did not revert any of your edits, but that others reverted your edits.
I did post a Welcome message on your talk page indicating that someone using the 211.11.134.217 IP address had "made unhelpful edits to the page Sun Yat-sen, which have been reverted."
Regarding the location of Barak Obama's birth, you may subscribe to Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories, and, as a resident of Hawaii and someone whose son was treated at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children where Obama was born, may believe that anyone who believes Obama was born elsewhere is a crackpot, but both your and my beliefs are opinions, and are not properly placed in an an encyclopedic context. What really matters here is the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy. Until there is verifiable documentation that counters Barack Obama's Certification Of Live Birth in Hawaii, I respectfully and wholeheartedly disagree.

Suleman octuplets

I've gone through and cleaned up all the references for Suleman octuplets; should be a lot easier to navigate them. Some paragraphs still need citations and are a bit wordy. Thanks! AngusWOOF (talk) 18:13, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I was just doing a bit of WP:GNOME work cleaning up {{dead link}} citations. Peaceray (talk) 20:43, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Re: Sun Yat-Sen?

Hello PeaceRay— by any chance is your recent missive to me propelled by your reaction to my edit of the article on Sun Yat-Sen?

Chuanist (talk) 23:52, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I noticed that you have been editing since February 2010, but that no one had welcomed you. Peaceray (talk) 00:23, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sun Yat-sen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kula (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Reverting Visconti Coat of Arms back to correct version

Sorry, my mistake. I was not aware that the crown was added in 1395 and not prior to. But concerning the format, its not really common to have a 'thumbnail' with caption within the info-box. That feat. is more for an article like 'Biscione' or 'House of Visconti'. Daufer (talk) 18:42, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Daufer, yes, I know that it is highly unusual to have thumbnail captions. I added it after an editor previous to you swapped out the pre-1395 image & added a post-1395 image with the crown. We see how well the caption prevented the same thing from happening again! Peaceray (talk) 02:22, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hokulea edit

You removed from the Hokulea article a link [diff] to a resource archived on Webcitation.org. Is there some specific reason you did that? Would you kindly consider replacing the reference to the archived copy to help fight link rot. Thank you.  –Newportm (talkcontribs) 05:54, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Mahalo for catching my mistake. The problem was not so much that I removed the archiveurl; I had put in a replacement URL to a live link. However, I inadvertently left a second URL parameter that pointed to the dead link, & it was this latter URL that the template was using. I removed the second |url= parameter, & now it points to the live link. Peaceray (talk) 07:58, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
This [diff] should take care of it. The specific problem this addresses is link rot. Thanks for your collaboration. –Newportm (talkcontribs) 16:53, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
If you want to proactively avoid WP:LINKROT, please use the |deadurl=no parameter/value. You may find instructions for the use of this parameter at Template:Citation Style documentation/url. Specifically, it states:

deadurl: When the URL is still live, but preemptively archived, then set |deadurl=no. This changes the display order with the title retaining the original link and the archive linked at the end.

You can find examples at Template:Cite web#Examples under the 2nd & 3rd bullets in the Using "archiveurl" and "archivedate" (and optionally "deadurl") for webpages that have been archived section. Peaceray (talk) 03:54, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Ok, fine business. Thanks for sharing the |deadurl=no syntax. That is new to me. Thanks for adding that syntax to the citation. –Newportm (talkcontribs) 05:29, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
