- Congratulations, Propitheque! This is super solid work, particularly for your first one. I stumbled onto this while doing some back-end work for the Developing Countries WikiContest. If you're planning on continuing to write about topics relevant to developing countries and wouldn't mind a bit of friendly competition, I would encourage you to join! This GA, for example, would be worth around 50 points for being of significance to Madagascar. Let me know if you have any questions! —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 04:43, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for the kind words, @TechnoSquirrel69! This competition looks like fun. Propithèque (talk) 16:33, 28 July 2026 (UTC)

DCWC August update
[edit]The 2026 Developing Countries WikiContest has been running for a month now, so let's check in with the competition so far!
As of the time of writing, our top contestants are:
Vanderwaalforces (submissions) ahead of the pack with 715 points, with two FAs and many GAs on the monarchs of the Kingdom of Benin;- Simongraham (submissions) with 291 points, mostly with GAs on jumping spiders, alongside various GAN and FAC reviews;
- Jaguarnik (submissions) with 240 points, mostly from an FA on the 1945 film Ivan the Terrible;
Grnrchst (submissions) with 215 points, mostly from GAs on anarchist history in various countries, alongside many GA reviews, and;
Vestrian24Bio (submissions) tied for 4th with 215 points, with an FL and four GAs on Indian cricket!
These competitors are in the lead, but if past experience is any indication, big shake-ups might still await us in the contest. If you're looking for a way to boost your position, we got a table of review requests from fellow participants—you can rack up a lot of points through reviews, and it might just convince others to review your own nominations! You can also look through the eligible reviews page to find other articles to review, with highlights for articles eligible for the 1.5× multiplier. The coordinators would like to thank Jaguarnik (submissions) for his work to keep this page up to date.
Thank you so much for all your work in the contest so far, dear participants, and keep on the good fight against systemic bias on our wiki! Have any questions? Leave a message on the contest talk page or send it to one of our wonderful coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), Generalissima (talk · contribs), Magentic Manifestations (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), and TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). You seem to be interested in lemurs, so I am not sure if you saw that someone nominated Lemur for a featured article review. Frankly, I think their concern about the article being too long is nonsense, but to the extent there are uncited or outdated statements, those concerns would be legitimate. Rlendog (talk) 14:10, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for reaching out, @Rlendog! I agree with your opinion about the length of the article, I believe the subject matter justifies itself. I would be happy to work on some of the aforementioned concerns to help maintain its featured status. Propithèque (talk) 15:33, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- OK. I am going to be out of pocket unfortunately for most of the next 10 days, which means I won't be able to do much before a full FAR begins (if it does). Rlendog (talk) 19:11, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Rlendog I have taken a cursory look at the article. My guess is that many of the uncited statements are from LoM, however my copy is unfortunately in a storage unit at the moment, and archive.org only has the 1994 edition available. It might be a good idea to find someone who has it on hand and see if they can help out, although I'm not sure how many lemur editors are still around. Either way, I'll do the best I can with online resources. Propithèque (talk) 18:14, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- I have a copy of LoM. I'm sure it is more recent than 1994, but it is not the latest version. But I won't have access for it for the next week. Rlendog (talk) 01:49, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
