Hey yourself
editHey Russ, Yeah I just started WPing not too long ago. Doubt there is a Multiverse High page, and I wouldn't want to start one (a little too obscure, y'know?). Good to hear from you again. Looks like some interesting work you're doing, based on the articles here. I generally stay on the cleanup side, but I did write a stub on my great-uncle: Ralph Holman. See you 'round the multiverse. Japanese emperors
editThe Japanese emperor double redirect that you fixed will actually be correct, once all of the articles themselves have been moved to the proper titles (about 100 out of 125 have already been moved). Anyway, there are a lot of such double redirects for the Japanese emperor articles, and I just want to make sure you don't waste any time on them unnecessarily. Thanks -Jefu 01:29, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
Done
editSorry about that. A banned user was attempting to use IPs to edit articles contrary to the terms of his ban. It became necessary to lock articles to stop this. The problem has now been solved and the user now realises that he could not edit articles while banned. It is now up to the arbitration committee to decide whether they wish to vary the terms of his ban or even repeal it. I've unprotected the article. I hope it didn't cause you too many problems. FearÉIREANN \(caint) 00:09, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
You tagged this article for merging with Iraq War on Oct 23. Personally, I think the thing should be deleted as it just seems to be the author's personal views.
Cool user name by the way. Reyk 04:46, 11 November 2005 (UTC) Ya, probably should just delete it. I was doing new pages and didn't know how to delete it. Thanks, by the way, my user name is my initials.--Rayc 05:37, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

WikiProject:Nebraska proposal
editSorry it's taken me this long to get back to you. I had given up all hope on convincing anyone to work on Nebraska-related articles; now, that seems like it might be a more realistic goal.

Notability of newspapers
editThanks for your interest in helping out with the list of newspapers. To answer your question...well, when I created the list, I really didn't have a notability in mind, so I simply went on the lists that were mentioned. I wouldn't really even know where to begin for a suggestion, and frankly I'm not sure if the notability information is available for most of the papers, but for a SWAG, lets say 5,000 circulation? That would seem like reaching enough readers to be significant. Weekly papers maybe more, say 10,000. Again, those are just best guesses, from an uninformed user who created the list because he likes creating lists. --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 04:09, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Albion HS reply
editHey. Sorry for the delay in replying. Your idea sounds fine to me. I think if you were to either categorise or maintain a list of these pages as you went it would be very good.
Strangely, I think my objection to the Albion HS page served a purpose, articles very quickly appeared, as did a third Albion HS! Cheers, -Fermion 02:11, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
High School disambigs
editYou really expect people to create articles for all of those high schools? Most high schools are not notable. Some guy 05:34, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. Those pages hadn't already been created, and there's no reason to automatically assume they would be. It seems to me you are just encouraging the creation of non-notable pages. Some guy 05:43, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
They're still schools after all, and categorising places the disambiguation article into a findable location for those who may not know the correct article title to begin with. We've done the same type of disambiguation for Andrew Fraser, an Australian name used by several people. It works ok for us. -- Longhair 05:40, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
editThanks for the Barnstar! Deep maintenance is usually pretty thankless :-) But in all fairness I should point out that clearing the backlog was a joint effort between myself and User:Gardar Rurak, we each did about oh... 600 pages or so. --W.marsh 15:55, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

- not to cast a shadow on the procedings, but with regard to, say, Horace Fairbanks, the box you've added replicates information already included in the "Governors of Vermont" template, which already indicates his predecessor and successor. Marconi merger tag
editWhen editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.
No problem with the Merger tag but I couldn't see how long it had been there. You should have also set up a discussion item on the relevant talk page (click the link resulting from the tag). I know it is an obvious merge but it does help for somebody to say yes I agree, let's merge and then do it. --A Y Arktos\talk 10:09, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Succession boxes
editWell, there isn't really any set of rules as far as I know, but I go by what I see. Succession boxes are everywhere, including in articles that already have templates which may make them redundant. I don't agree with the redundant argument, though. --tomf688 (talk - email) 00:00, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Internet slang
editI would very fully support porting the whole thing to Wiktionary, since, as you say, WP:NOT etc. The links at the bottom have a couple of problems. Firstly, they aren't actually tied to any of the entries. One has to guess which might be where. More importantly, imo at least, Urban Dictionary, THe Internet Spam Dictionary and Jargon Wiki are not sources of any kind of repute and simply do not belong in the references section of any kind of scholarly work. None of them are peer reviewed and, let's face it, none of them take their task at all seriously. So I don't think the article had any references whatsoever, and also I strongly suspect that most terms cannot be verified from reliable sources, even where they probably do exist. An example of how things can improve with some 'firm' editing is List of sexual slurs or, even better, List of sexual slang. -Splash - tk 03:30, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't recall on the spot, no. But that's a good place to start. Let's do this at the article's talk, in case other editors want to join in. -Splash - tk 03:36, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
AID
editUm, you do know that the war ended two weeks ago with the implimentation of the german solution, right?--Rayc 18:06, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Not nesscearily. Many users oppose this because they think it codones userboxes, which Jimbo explicitly opposes. So really, it has merely cooled off, as it has done in the past. Don't be suprised if it heats up again. The Gerg 19:36, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Internet slang
editMUSH says all the supposed meanings for it are just backronyms. Transwikiing it to Wiktionary would be great (though they'd probably hate it as much as we do), but it could only really be accomplished in an AfD, which rejected it last time. --Rory096 20:00, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- Do note that anything can be transwikied at any time without an AfD. It's just the subsequent possible deletion that requires an AfD. That is sometimes helped if it has already been transwikied, because it takes away that slight confusion that often arises and the fear that the 'useful' 'information' might get 'lost'. -Splash - tk 21:10, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- True, but it doesn't help when Wiktionary deletes it because they can't stand the thought of another List of cannabis slang there :o --Rory096 05:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

re: YHBT
editI replied on the article's talk, but on the list of reliable sources there it does have "...where it cites another reliable source", so the question is sort of dodged. I found a Microsoft link for YHBT (I put it on the talk page). See what you think. -Splash - tk 15:31, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
ne unicam senators
editI just live in the district and remember chip maxwell and decided to update the page. It was actually my first wiki update ever. I think, however, that there is a former ne legislators page on the unicameral website at unicam.ne.gov
also, the clerk of the legislature has a huge staff down at the Unicam. If someone called him and asked him to get his interns to update all the wiki sites, he probably would make it happen.
I noticed you've been creating a lot of pages for schools in Nebraska and tagging them as {{US-school-stub}}. Every state in the US (with the strange exception of South Dakota) now has its own school stub (following the format of state-school-stub - except Georgia, which is GeorgiaUS-school-stub). Could you switch to this format when you create to save some stubsorting work down the road? Aelfthrytha 14:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

CTH merge
editHi Rayc. I was looking at your merge notice for Honduras Workers' Confederation and Confederation des Travailleurs Haïtiens. I'm pretty sure they're not the same union. They're not even in the same country! :) one is in Haiti and the other in Honduras. Hi
editHi Rayc, I had started an article called Culture of Himachal Pradesh which was labelled copyvio by you. I have two questions:
- There may also be some other articles in which I had copied some text from other sites though it is changed considerably now. What does one do in such a situation? Is it possible to just delete the past version of an article?
- I do realise the above article is copyvio now that i have spent some time here. So what happens next? Can I just notify an admin to delete the article? In case you are an admin, can you do it please? Thanks -- Lost 01:47, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I think I just figured it out. I have put the speedy template to this one -- Lost 01:56, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Hey -- just a reminder; when you use the {{copyvio}} tag, be sure to remove the text that's a copyright violation as well. Thanks! Mangojuicetalk 02:38, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Regarding UNA Observatory
editFree photos are always helpful, but it wasn't what I had in mind. What I meant was, it needs to be converted to use a standard template, hundreds of which can be found here. I'm not sure which one would be ideal, but maybe I'll take a look at it myself. —freak(talk) 18:46, Jul. 25, 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps Template:Infobox Historic building would be a close fit, otherwise you could create your own template. Just make it generic enough to be reused in other articles. —freak(talk) 19:04, Jul. 25, 2006 (UTC)
Hi Rayc. I know that you've been involved in wikifying articles in the past, so I thought I'd draw your attention to this new project. Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.
Help out now!
edit- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the Civility Barnstar.
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
Decision Making
editThe council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Hello! I'm just letting you know that I've proposed this page (which you created) for deletion. I've done this because this disambiguation page did not link to a single extant article. Let me know if you have any questions, Dar-Ape 23:30, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think Clay Center High School (Nebraska) should be moved to Clay Center High School. First of all, right now there is no Clay Center High School (Kansas) article, and I'm unsure as to whether there should be one as the school does not seem particularly notable. Also, if an article is created on the Kansas high school in the future, the disambiguation page may be recreated. Until then, though, this seems more practical as well as more aesthetically pleasing. Dar-Ape 17:06, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Notability of Clay Center High School (Nebraska)
A tag has been placed on Clay Center High School (Nebraska), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dan0 00 05:17, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- I was just going on my own instincts. I figured that for a high school to be notable, a well-known person would need to have attended/worked there. If I'm wrong, I apologize. We'll just have to see what that admin says. Dan0 00 05:35, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Editing others' posts
editRayc, thank you for your research on MSTing. But I must ask that you not change my posts, as you did for my Cluetrain Manifesto citation (which I have since reverted). Please review Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines#Behavior that is unacceptable for why this is not a good idea. I know you meant well, but you left readers with the impression that I struck the ISBN and put a different one in. In this case, you made an understandable mistake, because the 2000 edition of Cluetrain Manifesto is ISBN 0738202444, a hardcover printing. But the citation I gave was for the 2001 paperback (which is why I took the trouble to provide the detailed citation). Page numbers usually differ between editions, so simply changing ISBNs renders the citation inaccurate and misleading. If you absolutely must make a change like this, at the very least you should (A) mark it with an editorial note, e.g., [Rayc]; and (B) insert a noticeably indented commment just below the end of the post to explain the change and beg pardon. Even well-meaning, accurate edits of others' posts are often considered quite rude because they effectively put words in others' mouths. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 04:26, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

editHi, Rayc,
you left a message on my user page concerning wikiversity. I am indeed very interested. My problem is lack of time, but I hope I can still contribute something. I have been looking arround on wikiversity a little bit and somebody has just started an interdisciplinary school on African Studies. I am intending to start something about African Philosophy and African Music. How can I start a project on African Philosophy an let it appear both in the philosophy school and the African studies school. I anderstand there is something called a portal, and that is probably what one has to put under African Studies. However, I have not yet had the time to really look into the rules and structures of Wikiversity. Nannus 17:06, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Talk:Mount Suhora Observatory, by CiaPan (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Talk:Mount Suhora Observatory fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Talk:Mount Suhora Observatory, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Talk:Mount Suhora Observatory itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 11:49, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on William Fields, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Eachwiped 15:26, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Brian Giovannini
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Brian Giovannini, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Notability not verified. All Google hits for ""Brian Giovannini" "postage due"" appear to be mirrors of the Wikipedia article, or self-published sources such as wikis. The impressive number of mirrors is due to the article's creation date: 2003...
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Senator Beau McCoy
editHI. Thanks for the compliment on adding the photo of Beau McCoy. I have never done anything like this before. I tried to add some important professional and personal information and it was deleted because it wasn't sourced? So I went back and put in links to all of the organizations that had written about him, which is where I got a lot of the information. They deleted it again. I don't know who is deleting it or why. It's really dissappointing to me, as I'm not cyber-blessed and really worked hard to just put in a paragraph or sentence, cite the reference and BOOM...it's gone the next day. Any help in ordinary english? Anglswings6510 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anglswings6510 (talk • contribs) 14:02, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Ray.... Patrolers hunh? I think the one who eliminated my posts should change his name to "god-o" since he believes he can pass judgement so easily. I'm not political, I don't read campaign fliers. I read about Senator McCoy on the internet, in the local newspapers and saw him interviewed several times on TV. I am also proud to know him from real life and what you see is what he really is and what you get. A very honest, patriotic, old-fashioned, non political man who just happens to be a 'Politician' because he believes in America, the constitution, her history, her past and her potential.
Thank you for re-inserting some of the posts the way the 'patrolers' think they should be posted. As for me, I find you a breath of fresh air...and I find those who delete others posts without any 'talk' are just egotistical control freaks. I posted nothing that was gossip or false, and I found the exact quote to the children of why he became a senator and his encouragement to reach for their dreams to be truly inspirational. But I guess that's not acceptable either. From now on I'll stick to newspapers articles, TV interviews, Radio interviews, public editorials etc...and leave Wikipedia because of the "patrolers". It's not worth the time and effort. BUT again...Thank you Rayc. Thank you for having patience and being willing to teach others, and work with them...instead of obliterating their first amendment rights. Good luck and God bless! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anglswings6510 (talk • contribs) 17:47, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

I really do not see how these amateur observatories are notable. If you really think you can show they are, we can try afd, but I suggest you think first whether they're defensible. DGG (talk) 20:10, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Sandy Creek High School (Nebraska)
editThe article Sandy Creek High School (Nebraska) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- extremely unnoticeable, no secondary sources
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Scott Mac (Doc) 12:03, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Rayc! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 698 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Speedy deletion nomination of Sisk Observatory
editYou may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Sisk Observatory requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- φ OnePt618Talk φ 22:01, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Boltwood Observatory

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Invitation to join WikiProject United States
editSuggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Nebraska
editIt was recently suggested that WikiProject Nebraska, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semi-active and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 13:54, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Nomination of Vega-Bray Observatory for deletion
editA discussion is taking place as to whether the article Vega-Bray Observatory is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vega-Bray Observatory until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

The article Echo Valley Observatory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Observatory seems to be a marketing gimmick. No independent coverage, no minor planet cites, no research cites. No information on corporate website.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thetrick (talk) 17:40, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
The article Tyson Larson has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Gtwfan52 (talk) 08:24, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kingman Desert Power House.jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Kingman Desert Power House.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Your admin status
editHello. I'm a steward. A new policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus recently. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing administrators' activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.
You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on enwikiversity, where you are an administrator. Since that wiki does not have its own administrators' rights review process, the global one applies.
If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights, and demonstrate a continued requirement to maintain these rights.
We stewards will evaluate the responses. If there is no response at all after approximately one month, we will proceed to remove your administrative rights. In cases of doubt, we will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact us on m:Stewards' noticeboard.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. The article John H. Witte, Jr. Observatory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This article appears to be a WP:LOCAL observatory and doesn't currently meet WP:GNP since the only source is the organization's web site.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dolotta (talk) 08:34, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Help, making updates to University of Nebraska – Lincoln Independent Study High School
editWe are currently looking for help in getting our Wikipedia page updated with correct information. In short, the name for the online high school changed to University of Nebraska High School over 5 years ago (it was formally University of Nebraska – Lincoln Independent Study High School). We’ve had no success in getting this corrected and it’s presented some challenges when people google us. I was wondering if there’s any way you could help us or direct us to where we can get this corrected.
There was a request left here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Nebraska
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Living Quest
editDear @Rayc: I quested to the Washington, DC Spy Museum and took the photograph of Sandra Grimes, CIA spy. The better photo is illustrating the article about her. Here is a photos of Sandy holding a paper copy of the Wikipedia article. Sandy autographed the paper copy for me.
I flew to Dandong, China looking for a photograph of Ri Sol-ju and [all I got was a picture of her grandfather in law] and was interviewed by the NYT.[1]

2019 US Banknote Contest
editUS Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |
