Welcome to my talk page. Please leave me a message below and I will reply on your talk page. Although my email address is enabled, it is not an address I check often (so I may be slow in replying to email). Please also note that while I am glad to do peer reviews on just about any article, I do not have the time to do copyedits (sorry). Thanks for stopping by and happy editing! WP:PR

If you close Jack Kemp am I stukk over the limit?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 01:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

If I am at four then I am under the limit. However, why is there a 14 day wait after something fails at another review process?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:06, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I misunderstood. You are saying that after closing a PR you can not apply for a quality rating for 14 days. That is still a bad idea. All it does is slow down the process of improving the project. However, often times a PR closes with a backdated closing date, so it won't always be a problem. The real issue is all the articles that show up at WP:FAC and don't know that their PR is suppose to be closed first. We usually just tell them to close the PR and go on with FAC. This would force them to close both for 14 days.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:31, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Worlds End State Park

Once again a section about Worlds End State Park. Your plans sound like a plan to me. I have been very busy IRL. I will be "working" tomorrow and Wed. I shall look over the peer review now and see if there is anything I can fix really quick. Have a good one my friend. Dincher (talk) 01:13, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Okay, cool. Going to bed now. Have a good evening. Dincher (talk) 01:38, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I like the new pic at Hyner View. That's a good find too. Dincher (talk) 19:34, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Do you mind if we wait until next weekend to nominate. Say Sunday or Monday? Dincher (talk) 21:11, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I think I just might wait to hear from them instead of asking again. You can ask if you want. I noticed you've been adding the official state park maps to some parks. I added it to Susquehanna and have the template figured out. What is need to know is how to find out how many Kibibytes the maps have. Are they all the same? Dincher (talk) 21:24, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

It can't hurt to add them to the external links. If somebody doesn't like them we can always get rid of them. I'll do it now. Dincher (talk) 21:49, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

The nomination is in. This time I am pretty sure that I did it correctly. If not I am sure you'll know how to fix it. Dincher (talk) 12:43, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I will look at the Worlds End refs myself. Dincher (talk) 01:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
There are a few that are very similar but I didn't find any duplicates. Did find a spelling error that I fixed. Dincher (talk)

Groundhog

Check out the groundhog at this website. He's eating a slice of pizza! Dincher (talk) 01:21, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh I am pretty sure it would be legal at a Pennsylvania state park. The little critters have the run of the place! Dincher (talk) 02:52, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Why are the whistle pigs held in such esteem? Hunting season for the little buggers is basically unlimited. I got excited about the new pics and hastily added one. I see you fixed the caption. Thanks! I don't plan on adding more, I'll leave this up to you. I do think a pic of Cabin 4 should go "somewheres". Dincher (talk) 20:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

The new geobox pic is quite nice. I like the little dark cloud over the lake. The others plans sound good to me. Dincher (talk) 21:11, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

The pics at Black Mo look really good. I will look at the bridge now. Dincher (talk) 23:08, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't think there is a need to be specific about the seasons. I do like the contrasting pics. It's good to keep some seasonal photos in all the articles. It should be easy with this one since there is over 70 pics of the park on commons. Dincher (talk) 01:47, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

Didn't know about the policy, thanks for the benefit of the doubt and kindness.--Briaboru (talk) 03:06, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Peer review limits

Thanks for letting me know that users cannot submit more than one peer review per day. I will not do that again in the future. However, one of those articles was split off from the other, so perhaps I should have listed both articles on one listing?

On an entirely separate matter, when someone like you leaves a note on My Talk page, should I reply to it there? If they have not clicked Watch, they will not see my response, will they? Thanks again, and Wiki On!--Mak Allen (talk) 02:08, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Bridges

I like the bridge DYK idea. I will try to work on one of them tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be able to do much until Saturday. Dincher (talk) 03:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

I won't be doing any major work on anything on wiki until Saturday. If you want to do the bridges go ahead. Have a good one. Dincher (talk) 21:31, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Okay. I am planning on nominating WESP for FA on Saturday morning. Sound okay? Then I'll work on a bridge or too. Dincher (talk) 01:20, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Check out the flickr pic I found of the Forksville Covered Bridge at Forksville. It's a better picture for the borough. Dincher (talk) 23:26, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

I thought I'd work on the Sonestown Covered Bridge. Dincher (talk) 12:24, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Upon further review I am going to be unable to make any substantial contributions to the bridges. I am just too busy at "work", really, and at home. They are all yours. I'll be happy to do copy edits, etc. But I am just to busy physically and mental to be creating anything worth while today or tomorrow. I hope that the WESP FAC goes well. Dincher (talk) 14:12, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Best of luck with the DYK and the GA. I agree the FAC is looking really good. Dincher (talk) 22:35, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

I hope that your bridges road trip was fun! Can't wait to see the pics. Dincher (talk) 01:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I really like the Hillsgrove Covered Bridge. It's not cute. Cute's good if you're a kid or a puppy, not if you're a bridge. Dincher (talk) 01:34, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the Father's Day wish. We had a nice time. We fed some very aggresive ducks and geese. I saw the bridge change. Good find! Dincher (talk) 13:11, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Something is seriously amiss with the infobox at Hillsgrove Covered Bridge. I am going to check the other infoboxes too. Dincher (talk) 16:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

copyedit request

Hello Ruhrfisch. I was wondering if you could take a quick look at VNQDD for FAC? Tony's put it under the wringer a little. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 05:23, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. I've done some tweaking. you spotted some things that the book didn't :) Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

IIRC you did use to have something on your userpage about knowing some organic chemistry. I wonder if you had ever heard of Buu Hoi - he did some org chem- I was going to look for some help with his cancer research, because I was mostly getting the science stuff from an obit and might need some help making it more accessible later. Phillies peer review

Thanks for reviewing Philadelphia Phillies, Ruhrfisch (as a German speaker, I love that username, BTW). I appreciate your input and have posted several comments to the review page, as well as trying to fix a lot of your concerns. If you wouldn't mind and have some time, I'd appreciate it if you could give the article and the review another quick once-over, just to see if you have any more suggestions. Thanks so much for the time and effort you put in. KV5Squawk boxFight on! 17:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I believe we haven't met before. I'm Nishkid64. I saw you helped out my friend Blnguyen on VNQDD and was wondering if you could copyedit an article I currrently have at FAC, 1965–1966 Central African Republic coup d'etat. I responded to your comment at T:TDYK regarding my nom of To the Stars (novel). Cheers, Cirt (talk) 22:41, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Actually if you could add a response comment and the "verified" symbol that would be helpful. Thanks, Cirt (talk) 13:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you so much, I added the cite to the article. Cirt (talk) 18:28, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your review. The remaining concerns are not actionable in the sense that you wer vague and did not give examples of certain remaining complaints. Feel free to comment further as we prepare this article for WP:CHIFTD.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 23:49, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Page move fix

Hey Ruhrfisch, I have a quick admin task I was hoping you could do. The page U.S. Customhouse (New Orleans) was redirected to U.S. Custom House (New Orleans) instead of being moved there. The new title is the correct name. Can you revert the redirect and do a proper page move? Thanks. VerruckteDan (talk) 13:40, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

As always, thanks for your help. VerruckteDan (talk) 00:08, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Leonard Harrison State Park

I am sure you noticed the changes to the camping info at Leonard Harrison. I looked at the PA DCNR website to confirm it and I can't. I was hoping you could use your persuasive and official sounding letter style to ask the park if indeed these improvements have been made. Dincher (talk) 22:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for finding the info. I found tons of pics of Raccoon Creek and Oil Creek. They are both on the 20 must see list. I will load them to commons now. Dincher (talk) 01:16, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I am doing some general work on Leonard Harrison and Colton Point today. Adding the histories from Worlds End and Black Mo that are pretty much the same. I don't know if the Fair Play Men got that far north, but will look into it. There is some geology info on the Grand Canyon article that could be moved and tweaked. Dincher (talk) 21:02, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

I doubted that they had made it that far. Thanks. I added IBA stuff to both articles. I am concerned that they will be too similar. But I am sure we can work on it as we go. I am going to stop working on both now and do some more inline and GNIS refs. I am nearly finished, less than 12 parks to go. Dincher (talk) 23:06, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I am just working on the similarities now. Leonard Harrison has a longer history and was used before becoming a state park as the "Lookout". There is just so much that's the same about both parks. I sometimes wonder why it isn't just one big park. But I also don't think it would be right to merge them on wiki since they aren't merged within DCNR. Dincher (talk) 23:41, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Millersburg Ferry

My trip around the municipalities of Pennsylvania has finally lead me to page page that I am amazed hasn't been created until tonight. I am currently working on Millersburg Ferry. (I almost created the National Apple Musuem, it's in Biglerville.) Something in my mind tells me that you might have pics of it. I might be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if you have some. Anyway, I am off to work on it some more. There is a long PDF file with lots of info. I am sure I'll get a DYK out of it. Dincher (talk) 00:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I rode it once a long, long time ago when I was really young. I have driven past it so many times I don't even notice it anymore. Next time I am going to notice it, might even stop. Thanks for the hook idea. I am pretty much done with it. Will be off wiki soon, but I will be on it alot tomorrow. I am "working" all day. Have a good one! I'll look at Forksville Bridge now and later. Dincher (talk) 01:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for catching the lead mistake. I am going to call it a night. If you want to make any changes at the ferry feel free. I will work on it some more tomorrow. I looked for an infobox on ferries and didn't really find a good one. Dincher (talk) 02:33, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the fix! Dincher (talk) 18:28, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

It just made the main page. I got on the main page, celebrated my third anniversary and saw the new Indiana Jones movie. It was a good day. Dincher (talk) 02:53, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! Do you have any info on the Grays? I haven't found much on the net. There is a book by Hunsinger that I am thinking of buying. Dincher (talk) 03:12, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Triple DYK

On 12 June, 2008, Did you know? was updated with facts from the articles Forksville Covered Bridge, Hillsgrove Covered Bridge, and Sonestown Covered Bridge, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Forksville Covered Bridge

I am reviewing the Forksville Covered Bridge right now and I have found only one problem so far and it isn't a big deal. The reference in the construction and description section are numbered 6, 5 instead of 5, 6 in the at the end of, (The gable roof is sheet metal). Dincher (talk) 13:22, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Maybe say that T. Corbin Lews is from Hillsgrove Township instead of just Hillsgrove. Dincher (talk) 13:26, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
I would like to do the GA review on it, but I don't know if others will think that we are in cahoots on it. It is a very good article. It should pass easily if someboday reviews it. The nom for the ferry is in. Dincher (talk) 14:40, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes. I think that it is up to FA standards. I won't review it, like you said someone will get to it. I am sure it will pass. Dincher (talk) 18:09, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I made a few changes per the GAR comments. I'll leave the rest for you to do. Hope it was okay. I just saw some really easy changes to make. Have a good one. Dincher (talk) 18:45, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Glad I could help. It looks pretty good to me. I think you'll pass GA soon. Dincher (talk) 20:16, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Something is amiss on the Forksville PR page. I am not sure what is up. When I click on it, it keeps asking me to finish the process of requesting a peer review. I tried to do that and it just kicked me back to where it began. Dincher (talk) 18:48, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I will give it the old red pen edit tonight at work. This time tomorrow I'll be in PA! Woo-hoo!--Dincher (talk) 18:54, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

WV State Parks list

Thank you for the comments. They are thoughtful and useful. And thanks for moving the semi-automated comments. I'm afraid I didn't completely understand the instructions. I will respond to your comments by both making changes and in writing on the PR page. Any additional comments you may have will be most welcome. WVhybrid (talk) 03:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks again for the comments. The last one about the web references is very helpful.WVhybrid (talk) 22:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
About the square thumbnails, your comments are quite understandable, because the click-through function is set to open the original images, not the cropped-to-square images used for the thumbnails. What I'm a bit puzzled about is if the square images will result in future comments when we try to go for FL status, and what to do keep the photos, which I think are pretty neat feature of the list (and took 2 years to accumulate).WVhybrid (talk) 22:36, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Worlds End

I am pretty excited that Worlds End made FA with very little trouble. Do we have enough Pennsylvania state park articles with the list to go for featured topic? Thanks for working with me on this one! Dincher (talk) 17:08, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the info on the featured topic. Dincher (talk) 21:47, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes, could you send them? I am sorry I gave you one and then deleted it. It wasn't worded correctly. I swiped it from your Cogan House Bridge thanks. NHL stuff

Hi, thanks for touching base, and for supporting the Fourth of July or bust NHL drive. I am surprised there is a red-link in the middle of List of NHLs in PA, i thought i had stubbed them all, but i checked back in history and it looks like it was always a red-link. It would be great if you would stub/start that. Obviously since KudzuVine put in a pic for it, there is a HABS site available for the article to include as an external link at least, and there should be NHL summary webpage and NRHP inventory/nomination text and photo PDF files available for it (under its refnum at NPS, as it is an NHL).

About the copyediting for the List of NHLs in NY (which would also involve List of NHLs in NYC probably too), no i have not found anyone. It begins to seem unwise for me and lots of wp:NRHP to be working so far ahead on the list-articles we are doing, without ever getting a single one through FL, but i/we have been just going along that way. I posted at the Talk page of one person in the Copyeditor listing that you pointed me to, but did not hear back. Co-editor Lvklock did finish going thru both the NY and NYC lists to verify descriptions' support in the corresponding articles. I would be very grateful if you would take a look at it, so we could put it up for FL. Thanks! doncram (talk) 20:27, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for starting with the copyedit. I didn't respond about the copyedit so far because i was still digesting it, and concerned about the state of the article. I spent a little time trying to edit ahead of you for some of the same issues your edits raised in the first paragraphs. Then i worry if that is unhelpful, that i would be undermining your having a stable version to edit. I could just wait, or i could print the article and do a more complete cleanup edit that way ahead of you, if you think it is in bad shape and/or if that would be helpful. doncram (talk) 18:09, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Battle of Lissa map

The map looks fantastic! Thankyou very, very much. I have added it to the article and it looks great. PRs and sourcing

I think I hit every open PR that was aiming for FAC, and tried to look them over for sourcing issues that might hit them at FAC. (pant pant pant) I'm going to try to keep up with them better from now on, hoping to do a "pre-FAC" check on them so they don't get surprised at FAC so much. I'd love to do all the PRs, but that's just too much to do along with the FAC work I'm doing. I'm kinda wanting to .. oh... write articles! Hope this helps you out. Ealdgyth - Talk 00:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Your "general proposal" (apologies for missing it earlier)

Hi. I only just noticed, as you deleted it, your "general proposal" at the "FA-Team" page. Sorry I missed it earlier! I'd say, in fact, that your suggestion is an excellent one. The FA-Team has still not quite got into gear following MMM, but that would seem a grand way forward. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 20:05, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Moraine State Park

Thanks for the copy edits to Moraine State Park. I am finished with the history section if you want to finish up any more edits. Now I am going to write about Frank W. Preston, the guy who looked a mess and helped get the park up an running. Hopefully, Dr. Hook, will be able to find a hook! Thanks again, did you get more pics of White Deer Hole Creek? We just discovered that what we thought was a faulty camera was really a faulty memory card. Thank goodness, cards are alot cheaper than cameras! Dincher (talk) 22:53, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

I am finished with Preston. Here's a DYK idea. Did you know that...Frank W. Preston invented the system by which Corelle wear is made and worked to establish Moraine State Park in Pennsylvania? Any tweaks or a better idea will be grealy appreciated. Feel free to add anything too. Dincher (talk) 00:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing the number typos. Sixes, eights and nines have alway given problems when it comes to reading and writing them. This has been a problem since school. I would like to work on Oil Creek State Park after Harrison and Colton. I think it should be an easy FA if written properly. The subject matter is very interesting. Thanks for the hook too! Dincher (talk) 02:42, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

I have quite a few more pics of Oil Creek to add from my flickr faves list. I too had thought about asking Dtbohrer (sp?). I am sure he'll be willing. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Dincher (talk) 03:01, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, Susquehanna would be an easy FA, lots of good history. Little Pine would be more work to get to FA, but certainly doable. Like I said before Upper Pine Bottom to GA would be a great accomplishment. Dincher (talk) 13:19, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Geobox problem

I don't know if you've noticed yet, but the geoboxes on some of the creek articles seem to have gone mad today. Balch Creek and Larrys Creek look the same. Got any idea what could be causing this? Finetooth (talk) 16:54, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Oops. They just returned to normal. Maybe I have magic powers I was unaware of. Finetooth (talk) 16:57, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Glad it was fixed. Dincher (talk) 20:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar. I am worried about the ferry. It might not make DYK. Dincher (talk) 15:45, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Brandywine

Okay, the goal (suggested by another Wiki Administrator) was to have just one Brandywine disambiguation page (rather than Brandywine, Brandywine Creek, Brandywine River, ...)

Brandywine Creek had the most entries, so another administrator asked me to add the additional Brandywine items to Brandywine Creek, and they were going to move it in place of Brandywine.

I really wish you read the Discussion/Talk page before you did what you did; Well, "water under the bridge" ...

I went ahead and added the remaining entries from Brandywine Creek and Brandywine River to Brandywine.

I am in the process of going through all the Brandywine River links and repointing them to the appropriate page, then I will do the same for Brandywine Creek, and update both pages to be ReDirects. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LeheckaG (talkcontribs) 23:09, June 18, 2008

Brandywine redux

Thanks for all the work related to Brandywine Creek (Christina River). You are certainly right that I am not an admin (and I don't present myself as such).

I'm not at all in tune with what User:LeheckaG has done, but couldn't think of a reason that he can't do that (e.g. create several more Brandywine Creek articles). I've kept in touch with him a couple of times but ... It looks to me like a mess that you (and a couple of others) have started to clean up.

Thanks again and sorry for any confusion.

On a completely different question, please check out my comments on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. I'm asking your advice simply because I saw your name on Wikipedia project NRHP, had a couple of "Hellos" with you before, and because I do not understand what the problem is, according to some other NRHP guys (who other than on the "questions" page) look like a couple of standup guys. Maybe a simple translation is al that is needed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Smallbones (talk) 03:42, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks on both topics. Translation more or less understood. From other flogging around, (for me) the key concept seems to be "public record does not mean public domain." Amazing but true, the government can (indeed must) distribute it, but nobody else can. Smallbones (talk) 23:30, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

About my list.

Hello. My question is about my list. I've been working on several list for latin music in United States here in wikipedia, por example the Hot Latin Tracks and now I am working on Billboard Top Latin Albums, and the first one is the number-one albums of 1993. I read the message you left when I asked for a peer review and I put the list on an infobox, but I have a problem for the lead section, how big it should be?, because in 1993 only one album hit the number-one on the list and it won the Grammy but in 1994. I really need you help so I can be able to continue with the rest of the lists. Thank you so much, I enjoy writing in wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaespinoza (talkcontribs) 00:40, June 19, 2008

After another look, it seems all of the real issues were addressed (thanks to Dincher, as well), so I passed it. Good work! Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 23:41, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Congrats on another GA! Dincher (talk) 01:11, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I actually don't think going for FA is a bad idea, and I was going to mention it when I passed GA, but I forgot. There's plenty of history, which is good. I'm sure people will find minor things to complain about that I can't see, but the writing is certainly close if not up to FA standards. It may be slightly short, but as length isn't a FA requirement and it's longer than other FAs, I think it could easily pass. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 01:37, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Alright, I'll see if I can find some comments when you put it at PR. One more thing – is it possible to include information (or more) about why the bridge was needed? Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 01:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Er, I guess why they built it was pretty obvious. What I meant was is there a way to find out why the built it there and not two miles downstream or two miles upstream, but that's not really important. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 12:34, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks.

I read all your comments regarding my list. I've made some changes, please check it out and let me know your feedback about it. Number-one latin albums of 1993 (U.S.).

Thank you so much for all your help.

Lake County Courthouse

I'm really disappointed by all this: not because you did anything wrong, but because Jm0371 uploaded and posted a lot of good pictures of Ohio county courthouses, and now I wonder how many (if any) really are taken by this user? Earlier today, all I saw was someone posting a name on the images, and I figured that it was someone just graffiti-ing the image. Thanks for resolving the situation! Nyttend (talk) 04:31, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

About the airport map: it looks like FAA maps I've seen while a passenger in a light aircraft (it's nice to sit next to the pilot!), so I'd guess it's FAA. I'll try to follow up on it. Nyttend (talk) 04:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

I think a majority of the user's pictures are suspect, but I don't have much proof (or time for detailed sleuthing). Take a look at Image:Buckeye lake aerial.png‎. I doubt the user flew his or her own airplane to take the picture. Besides that, the coloring, space, and ground layout is the same as how Buckey Lake looks in Google Earth. The color is enhanced somewhate and the black bar at the top right of the image makes be believe the image was photoshopped in someway.

Some others:

These are the only one's obvious to me so far. I would like to assume good faith, but if you've been burned once it's easy to get jaded.Dcmacnut (talk) 17:30, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Aside from these problems, if you look at JM0371's talk page history, s/he has a long history of receiving (and then removing) warnings for copyvios. JM hasn't edited in a couple of weeks, but s/he tends to edit in spurts sometimes weeks apart, so there's no guarantee that this won't continue at some future point. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I'm inclined to block permanently for the extended history of copyright violations. Nyttend (talk) 03:10, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Check out my ANI request, and (especially if I've misunderstood your position on this) offer a comment. Nyttend (talk) 03:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
By the way, I've never gotten anything back on that airport image thing; I'll remind my friend to look at it :-) Nyttend (talk) 03:24, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I had decided last night to give a long block if no more comments were added after jonny-mt, but since (if I understand you right) you think the other course is better, I'll refrain. Still, with this edit history, this talk page history, and Kevin's stern warning, I'm likely to give an indefinite block if (1) a newly-created copyvio is discovered, and (2) I find out about it before any other admins do. Also: I still think that airport diagram is a PD-USGov, so I sent a note to my friend to look at the source for the Wikipedia image; it looks like a useful image, so if it really is FAA, I'll likely reupload it. Nyttend (talk) 12:52, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for all of your work on this one, guys. I'm afraid there's more to do, though, as there are still over 80 of Jm0371's images that remain untouched. Most of them seem to be aerial photos of airports, images of county courthouses, and pictures of the Hiram College campus. Should we let them stay or delete them? - Eureka Lott 02:41, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
I agree with your assessment. The aerial imagery definitely needs to go. Since so many of the courthouse images have already been identified as copyvios, I don't see a good reason for allowing the remainder to stay. Actually, I wouldn't object if somebody deleted all of the user's image contributions. - Eureka Lott 03:13, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Very good. Just let me know if there's anything I can do to help. - Eureka Lott 04:08, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Lost World

Thanks for watching St Kilda. As you may have gathered, the BBC have just screened the first of a short series on the subject. I don't know if it works internationally but you may be be able to watch it at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ - "Britain's Lost World". Wonderful photography. Williamsport Bills

Thanks for the copy edits to the Bills article and the image fixes. Luis Medina, Mark Higgins and Dave Bresnahan thank you too.

I just created an article for the Williamsport Bills. A copy edit would be great and if you can think of a hook that would be great too. Something to do with the potato throwing would be cool. I will think of one too. I wish I could include how dark and dreary Bowman Field was in those days. We played Pop Warner games in the outfield. The locker rooms and bathrooms were grosser than gross. The whole place was a wreck and the Bills were horrible. I usually gave up on them by the end of June. I did swipe an official Eastern League ball from the bullpen. Dincher (talk) 13:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

DYK idea... that former members of the Williamsport Bills include World Series mananger Clint Hurdle, all-star Tino Martinez and Dave Bresnahan who threw a potato into left field? Dincher (talk) 16:37, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the tweaks. Enjoy the semi-wiki break! Dincher (talk) 01:32, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the congrats on Frank. I think that the Bills might come up for DYK while I am at COH. Could you keep an eye open for any possible problems? I've been looking and looking for the Bills logo and can't find it anywhere. Not one that's big enough that is. Thanks again and have a good one. Dincher (talk) 02:56, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

I just remembered that I have a three ring binder, that houses part of my football and baseball card collection, that I got at some point with the Bills logo on it. I have it scanned into the computer. Now I am working on fixing it. The scan is pretty rough. I am working on it now. Dincher (talk) 03:38, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

I have the logos up pretty much as they appeared when the team was affiliated with the Indians. The logo stayed the same with the Mariners and Mets, the colors just changed to Mariners and Mets colors. Do you think the licensing, summary, etc., are okay? Dincher (talk) 14:52, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Cool. I am getting Williamsport baseball fever. I am going to buy Hunsinger's book or books as soon as I can. Dincher (talk) 15:04, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, it looks like somebody didn't like my use of the Bills logo on our user pages. That's just plain silly of you ask me. Forksville is on my list for reviewing tomorrow. Have a good one. Dincher (talk) 03:18, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

The potato is great! That whole caper was so funny. Gary Chrisman on KISS - FM arranged for a massive delivery of potatoes or potato chips to be sent to Orlando Gomez's office. I think Bresnahan paid the fine in pennies. Thanks for the laugh! Dincher (talk) 03:33, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Lake County Courthouse

Hello Ruhrfisch,

Thank you for the Welcome.

The photo of the Lake County Courthouse is my photo with the branches edited out. I have it posted on Flickr under my username of "amlapedalemaap". I was never asked and never gave permission for anyone to use my photo. I would like to upload my photo to the Lake County Courthouse page on Wikipedia but I can not figure how how to do that. Can you help me with that?

I really appreciate you taking the time to research this and am sorry it took so long to answer. I am new at this and did not realize I had a message.

Thank you, Pdepalma Pdepalma (talk) 23:27, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Lake County Courthouse

Hello Ruhrfisch,

I downloaded my photo of the Lake County Courthouse. It took me a few tries but I think I got. Please check to be sure it looks ok and I didn't mess something else up. Thank you again for your help in this matter. Pdepalma (talk) 03:09, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you again Ruhrfisch. I like the photo at the top of the page. Pdepalma (talk) 03:29, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi

Long time no talk

...so I thought I should drop by and say "Hi!" Haven't been doing too much with Wikipedia lately, aside from the usual noodling with succession boxes, although I did finally get Bellefonte Furnace turned out. I am teaching at one of the local tech colleges right now, which keeps me busy but is very exhilarating. I'd like to ask you a question about state park-related articles, since I know you and Dincher have been working extensively on those. Would you expect Natural Areas to get their own articles, or is Snyder Middleswarth Natural Area an exception insofar as it used to be a state park? And if so, where would I find additional information about them? A chance discovery while sorting through my wildflower pictures from Mount Cuba has me working on a rather nice (if I do say so myself) botanical article offline; I'm wondering if I can break the natural area out into a separate article and get a double DYK. (Encyclopedic appropriateness comes before "scoring points," of course.) Choess (talk) 03:34, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

The natural area in question is Hoverter & Sholl Box Huckleberry Natural Area, Tuscarora State Forest. The scientific history of that patch of box huckleberry is pretty easy to document from the literature, but I'm having trouble finding out when it was declared a natural area and who Hoverter & Sholl were. (I think they're the landowners who donated to form it, but I'm not certain.) Choess (talk) 17:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
I've seen that, but I'm a little leery of that particular date. I've managed to tease out two references from Google Books (one recent, one 1968) that give the date of founding as 1929. I can cite that, but that still leaves me with the problem of Hoverter & Sholl. Maybe I should write to the Perry County Historical Society? Choess (talk) 20:43, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
You're a genius! "Smallest NA in Pennsylvania" would make a great addition to the DYK hook. Thanks so much. Choess (talk) 15:21, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
That's OK, I think I'm well-enough sourced on the standard stuff. Thanks for the offer, though. Choess (talk) 15:29, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

William Speirs Bruce - FAC

You said to let you know when Bruce is at FAC. I've just nominated him; after your kind support at peer review, I thought you'd like to see him there. I've done a few tinkerings since, and am reasonably satisfied with the article's present state - so I expect it'll get a mauling. We shall see. Thanks for past help. Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814

I just wanted to stop by and say thankyou for doing the peer review for the article. Thanks! The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 02:54, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

So have I converted you into a fan? haha. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 07:24, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
How do I link the archived review into the Article History? The Bookkeeper (of the Occult)
(Butting in) Click the last edit of the peer review, particularly the moment it was closed, then at the URL, look for the "oldid" part. Like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Peer_review/Janet_Jackson%27s_Rhythm_Nation_1814/archive1&diff=222243909&oldid=221790255. Then add it in the ArticleHistory. =) --Efe (talk) 09:12, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Peer review

Sorry i took the football one and left you to do a wrestling one! On a similar note - Why don't we just scrap peer review and replaced it with a new mechanism "Ask Ruhrfisch" or even the snazzy sounding "Ruhrfisch Review". That way it's a lot more transparent on what's actually going on. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 04:25, 28 June 2008 (UTC) (ha ha)

Thriller (album) peer review

Hi there, would it be possible if you could close and archive this peer review (I mess it up everytime I try). Im ready to nominate the article for FA. Unless you personally would like to add your ideas I would appreciate it if it were closed. — Realist2 (Who's Bad?) 17:32, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Cheers, thankyou. — Realist2 (Who's Bad?) 01:06, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion

Any chance we could get this tool thrown onto the peer review pages automagically? It sure helps me check links/etc at FAC. Ealdgyth - Talk 03:09, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

County courthouses

Thanks for getting it all sorted out; I really appreciated some of the new pictures, especially the impressive Erie County Courthouse. I've been rather busy with other county-related matters — on that subject, could you please look at the mess with Burlington, Ohio? It's been moved to Burlington (CDP), Ohio by someone who is apparently arguing that the CDP and the community named Burlington are two different places. Nyttend (talk) 19:45, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

There are thirteen communities in Ohio named "Burlington":
  1. Burlington (Uninc.), Ohio in Fayette Township, Lawrence County
  2. Burlington, Ohio in Fulton County
  3. Burlington, Ohio a census-designated place in Lawrence County
  4. Burlington Township in Licking County
  5. Burlington, Ohio in Marion County
  6. Burlington, Ohio in Stark County
  7. New Burlington, Ohio in Clinton County
  8. New Burlington, Ohio in Hamilton County
  9. Bristol, Ohio in Perry County also known as Burlington[1]
  10. Burlingham, Ohio in Meigs County also known as Burlington[2]
  11. Florence, Ohio in Belmont County also known as Burlington[3]
  12. Homer, Ohio in Licking County also known as Burlington[4]
  13. Marseilles, Ohio in Wyandot County also known as Burlington[5]
My issue with "Burlington" is that other Wiki pages linked to it as the Southern-most point in Ohio, and the CDP coordinates/wording were inaccurate from that point-of-view. i.e. "Burlington, Fayette Township, Lawrence County, Ohio" (as opposed to the CDP) refers to the original 50 acres on the Ohio river to the South and West of the Census area. The CDP refers to a much larger area (resulting in it NOT being the Southern-most point). I attempted to update the CDP article to correct the inaccuracies (there were/are several), and someone undid my edit(s). With other Burlington, Ohio(s) (whether there are already Wiki articles for them or not), the CDP should not take precedence ("Burlington, Ohio") over the others. In the process, They deleted historical information which someone else had in the Burlington, Ohio article basically leaving the Census information which is pretty "pointless" (when it is already available on the U.S. Census Bureau site).
