Hi you are right, I'll remove the Peshawas pic, its a struggle to get pictures for the article I am afraid. The british library has a great picture of the Battle which I put up but has been removed, I can't find another map of Durranis Empire, I was looking around for maps and I just glanced at that one so I guess I'll remove that as well..

Request to move article Madhavrao I Scindia incomplete

edit

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Madhavrao I Scindia to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 08:05, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lok Sabha constituencies

edit

I just heard on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Notice_board_for_India-related_topics#Lok_Sabha_constituencies that you are working on the same. I have only done 3 so far to finish Assam and Punjab. Ill probably get on Karnataka next. Just giving you a heads up so we can co-ordinate. Lihaas (talk) 16:15, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gauhati is fine, consistently that way by the election commission. But Jalandhar ought to be Jullundur. I was thinking of creating a forwarding site for the latter to the former. Is it possible for you to do that? I've never made a forwarding/redirect page yet. Lihaas (talk) 14:29, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

what are you working on next? I had a prob w/ karnataka b/c some of the constituencies on the list are not on EC's list.

The following are not on Wikipedia: Kanakapura, Mangalore, Chikmagalur, Kanara, Dharwad South, Dharwad North

The following are not in on the EC list: Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Bangalore Central, Bangalore Rural

ps- I'll probably go to Madhya Pradesh next. Is that cool? Lihaas (talk) 18:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just saw your Lucknow page, it has some wrong info. I updated it a bit (1951 was 2 seats from Lucknow, not sure how your doing that so I left it). Vajpayee was in Gwalior, MP in 1971. Lihaas (talk) 00:38, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest

edit

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Speedy deletion nomination of Khalilabad (Lok Sabha constituency)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Khalilabad (Lok Sabha constituency) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. - Mfribbs (talk) 00:55, 14 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav

edit

The article Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Please delete to make room for the far more extensive Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav which has been in process for some weeks now, whereas this stub (formerly a copyvio) just jumped in a week back. MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:18, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:18, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

/* Proposed deletion of Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav */ please restore the prod so we can publish Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav

Why did you remove my PROD? There's a much longer and properly footnoted version at AFC, so we should move it to replace this version. And then if you like you can incorporate any info you have into the new version. Please restore the PROD so we can move along with this, or give a clear reason why we should not make Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav the main article? Copyvios

edit

You appear to be an experienced editor, so I'm a little surprised to see that there are copyvios in your contributions: Harbilas Sarda and Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav are two recent examples. Can you explain why this happened and how many other articles are similar copyvios. If this extends beyond these two articles I'm afraid your Autoreviewer flag will have to be removed and a review of your contributions may have to be initiated through the WP:CCI process. Please let me know. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 18:02, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

[1] is another copyvio problem. —SpacemanSpiff 18:21, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
[2], [3]. That makes it five copyvios in the past few days. I have to remove your autoreviewer/autopatrolled flag as we do need reviews of your contributions. —SpacemanSpiff 18:26, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but you can not just create articles by copy pasting text from elsewhere and say that you will reword it, that's a foundational copyright problem and derivative text is unusable. Please stop doing this. I've just noticed that K. C. Neogy also suffers from similar problems. Please go through a list of your contributions and identify the copyvio problems so that we can sort this out. —SpacemanSpiff 18:35, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • As I have mentioned before, please list out you contributions and check for copyvios before proceeding with other actions. If not, we will have to go the WP:CCI route and if that's the case, any and all copyvios will have to be deleted. —SpacemanSpiff 03:35, 27 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Harbilas Sarda

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Harbilas Sarda requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.indiaclub.com/shop/AuthorSelect.asp?Author=Har+Bilas+Sarda. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". —SpacemanSpiff 18:03, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kapurthala State, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Randhir Singh. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
