edit
The image you uploaded, Image:Byers.jpg, has no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

Hey dude thanx for such a cool update! I was thinkin of updating the music information a while ago, but I don't really have much time right now. Anyway, try to get the cover art for both cds, I guess you can find those easily (but please good quality) and don't forget to fill the respective license.

Nice job!

Thanks for uploading Image:Clubhel.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Where did you get this image? I just got a nicely worded yet firm email from somebody from Warner Brothers saying that an image of Superman in the same yet-to-be-released film has *not* been released to the media yet. The rep requested deletion of that image and I complied. This is potentially very serious if Wikipedia contributed to the spread of these images before they were officially released. At the *very* least we all *need* to say exactly where we get images when uploading. --mav 18:52, 23 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Lone4.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 11:04, 1 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Request for edit summmary

edit

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 2% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits outside the Wikipedia, User, Image, and all Talk namespaces.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear inpolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 04:20, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Lex-luthor1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

I've removed the no source tag. You should read the tag which you added. It says images should quote a source, copyright info and fair use rationale. The image now shows the source, but nothing else. I've removed the tag so that you have a chance to fix it without anyone coming along and deleting the image. You should also read the articles linked from the message I sent you relating to copyright so that you understand Wikipedia's stance on copyright. You're right - 6 months ago things were more relaxed although these rules have always been applied. It's become stricter simply because there have been so many flagrant breaches of copyright and Wikipedia has been criticised for it in the mainstream media. Under copyright laws both Wikipedia and the contributing editor (ie you) can be legally liable for any breach in copyright, and although nobody has tried to sue Wikipedia, the aim is to remove problematic material when detected. Everything you need to know is in Wikipedia:Image description page, Wikipedia:Fair use and Wikipedia:Copyright. If you make yourself familiar, you can't go wrong, and let me know if you are not sure about anything. Thanks. Rossrs 21:37, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

James Bond character template

edit

As someone who works on a number of the characters, do you think we should have an "age" field in the template? I know 24 got rid of it and Alias doesn't have it either. Most villains don't have any specific data. I'm just calling attention to this because it seems like these ages get changed almost everyother week and now someone just went through and gave them all specific ages that can't be calculated.

Is there any other field that could replace this that might be an interesting fact? K1Bond007 22:20, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't know. Some of those you mentioned, like Henderson, I knew worked for Omnicron and CTU (just as an example). For people where they have no clear job, I would say make that field optional in the template then just blank it for that character so it doesn't show. K1Bond007 20:30, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:Rchapelle.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rchapelle.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Oden 04:25, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading Image:Kbauer.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Bob 22:53, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Kbauer.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Kbauer.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:53, 14 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bob 22:53, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:GeorgeMason.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:GeorgeMason.jpg.

Thank you. Bob 22:59, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

I have redirected the article to List of Prison Break minor characters as the character is a minor character in the show and has not made many appearances in the series. The subject would deserve its own article if it had a more significant role in the series and if more behind-the-scenes information could be added. Please see WP:Writing about fiction and WP:Notability for more details. Regards, Ladida 07:59, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:PresidentKeeler.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:PresidentKeeler.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Fair use rationale for Image:Normal 009.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Normal 009.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Resurgent insurgent 00:25, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Minor edits

edit

Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' If you can, please take a look and offer input on improving the article. Thank you. Equazcion /C 18:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

TFU expansion

edit

I removed your good-faith expansion of the The Force Unleashed plot. I'm sure there will be -- or, perhaps, are -- reviews of the text that offer plot details. However, as the talk-page of this article and a corresponding one on Wookieepedia suggest, there are some discrepancies somewhere in the German print of the text, and some blogs/sites are otherwise passing on inaccurate story information. I think it is best to either wait for an English-language text to come out and, for the time being, cite it as a primary source or simply to offer salient details offered in third-party reviews (or perhaps even encapsulating the dust jacket summary). Many thanks! --EEMIV (talk) 02:20, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

You are now a Reviewer

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. Orphaned non-free image File:70salbum.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:70salbum.jpg.

You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 06:26, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. When you recently edited List of Assassin's Creed characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Juno (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A kitten for you!

edit

Hi. Your words "Prior to his murder, Palmer had discovered a traitorous conspiracy involving Logan's Chief of Staff Walt Cummings and ex-CIA agent James Nathanson. " were edited into Martha Logan's page on Wiki on 15 February 2006‎. That edit's stayed there until now. I wanted to send you this kitten because I hate you because that edit also happens to be the quoted text when you Google "Logan 24", which spoiled Palmer's death for me since I'm in season 4. That is all.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Count Vertigo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shado (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
