Hi there, using subst is always a good idea, I sometimes forget to do that, but you're right that especially in warnings it looks nicer (the beginning user won't see the template). I will read the new suggested templates, thanks - I sort of mechanically transfered my editing behaviors from pl-wiki, which naturally is not particularly wise ;) Pundit|utter 21:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Good job!

Hey there! I just noticed you reverting about a gazillion edits, so I figured I'd encourage you; nothing's worse than sitting, fighting vandals with nobody to talk to. :) Anyway, keep up the good work! Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 23:12, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

I'd like to say that adding "*!?wassup?!*" to every page that comes up when i click on the random aticle button should NOT be considered vandalism. I'm just trying to leave my mark on the world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcky00 (talkcontribs) 00:57, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Help!!!!!!

I want to help wikipedia and become an Autobot operator and an Administrator. Please try to make me one!:) User:Russell777 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Russell777 (talkcontribs) 20:17, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Admin

I noticed you are an admin scout. I have pondered if that is something that my future might hold. With barely 500 main space edits, I know I am a loooong way off but I was hoping you would offer your wisdom to a newbie and maybe share what you look for in a potential admin and things I can be working on over the coming months (or years). Admin nomination

I have decided to accept the nomination, but would like a few days to work on the answers to the questions. My understanding is that you make the RfA page for me to work on, but then don't list it right away, right? Also, User:Dincher and User:VerruckteDan have both asked to be co-nominators. Thanks again for asking, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:52, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

It isn't listed until you sign it in the I accept section. Prodego talk 03:13, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up - where do we go from here? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I have answered the questions on my RfA, and Dincher has done his co-nomination, but VerruckteDan has not weighed in yet, and has not made any contributions in a few days. How long do we wait? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:30, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

i think it good —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.70.254.193 (talk) 11:03, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I think I will give VerruckteDan three days from the the first notice on his talk page, at which point I will formally accept - assume you want to transclude the nom (or should I?). Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:41, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
OK, thanks - I guess I will transclude it then (once I formally accept). I will let you know when I do accept and transclude. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 19:19, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
I am going to go transclude the page now - thanks again for nominating me and good luck on your own RfA, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:25, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

(unindent) Thanks for the nom again and for the support - assume I did it all OK< was not sure about the time, so I used the time I accepted for the seven days. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Redirect of Charlie keene

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Charlie keene, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Charlie keene is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Charlie keene, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 08:30, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

CSD on User:Garry-punk

You tagged the User:Garry-punk as db-bio. However, it's a user page, and the criteria you have used applies only to articles :) You don't have to be notable to have a userpage, otherwise I think that 95% of us would have a red link ;-) Snowolf How can I help? 16:13, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

*facepalm* Damnit, I did it again. Yeah, I know user pages aren't subject to that criteria. I'm just completely brain-dead today, evidently. I've hit them by mistake a couple of times today. Fortunately I caught myself before now. Thanks for the note and (presumably) the removal of the csd tag.

You are now an administrator

and your speedy deletion patrolling is a great way to start-- but you perhaps should keep in mind some clues that there might be something there behind even a very low-quality article. John A. Rich‎ is a MacArthur fellow, and such are always notable--there's always lots of news coverage. At the minimum, it is an unquestionable assertion of notability, no matter how little is said otherwise. (CSD A7 is only for no assertion at all.) Laura Kasischke is a prize winning author. The article didnt say so--in fact it didnt say much of anything, but the b.1961 indicates someone might have a reason & Google shows quite a bit. Ideally, you could undelete and add a little. (this is often the case with authors--people just enter the name and go one.) Alternatively, undelete and I will. DGG (talk) 03:56, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey snow

Hey snow... i talked to you about unblocking our School IP. I have found out who was vandalizing. I saw him in the library. I told him to quit because wikipedia is awsome... well he said he will so we will see... another thing... Apparently it wont let you permanently ban our school IP because each computer has a different IP or it resets every day... One of the two...

But i was just telling you

My NPWatch application

Hi Snowwolf! Congratulations on becoming an admin, but in all honesty I think you have just made your first mistake. After being approved for NPWatch, the second automatic tool I have received approval for -the other being AWB-,you seem to have thought it was necessary to remove my approval because I have to little experience with CSD tagging. Can you explain that to me, as I have never tagged an article that was re-tagged or not deleted that I am aware of and have done so on enough articles to consider using NPWatch in the near future. And also, knowing WP:CSD off-by-heart I thought I was all set. I think you have made a mistake and would also like to know how you check if somebody has enough CSD experience - as these are deleted edits and do not show up on the edit count or anywhere except my own preferences pages afaiaa. WP:AIV

Hi, thank's for the notice about AIV. The most recent "final warning" for the IP was on Sept. 6th, and the user vandalised here, and here that I could find. I didn't quite notice how old the notices were, so thanks for the note about that. --θnce θn this island Speak! 19:56, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

I just saw that you reverted that troll account's edits on my user page. I was in the middle of writing something long and drawn out, a sort of "help the newbie" essay, and hadn't yet realized that the user was indeed a troll. --GoodDamon 20:36, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

re:Adopter

Thanks, Snowolf. I updated my name and activity. I'm currently a bit inactive due to a hectic school work schedule, the Christmas holidays and other reasons. For these reasons I am a bit inactive at the moment, but I hope to be back soon. Thanks for informing me, and sorry for forgetting! Jack?! 23:31, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I completely forgot! :P I recently adopted someone, but he's not that active right now so I could take more. Thanks for the reminder ~ Bella Swan 00:28, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Double redirects

Hey, you recently reverted one of my edits, and commented in my talk page. I had originally made that edit to prevent double redirects when I moved the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends to Thomas and Friends. After all that work, however, it still said there were double redirects. If you would like to help, I would be greatful. Thanks. Tavix (talk) 23:49, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello Snowolf, can you look again if this edit was planned in that way? Looks like editconflicting. The second person this article is about needs a separate article, but doesn't seem to be notable (google endorses this theory), that's way I reverted further back. A new flavor of SALT

Hello, I'm dropping you a note because you are listed on Wikipedia:Protected titles/Specific Admin as an admin that is maintaining a personal SALT page. Recent software updates now allow deleted pages to be protected just like other pages. Please consider migrating any pages on your personal list to normal protections, and clearing them off of your list. There still may be situations where a personal list may be the best way to handle a page though. Thank you, — xaosflux Talk 02:50, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Dear Snowolf/Archives, here is a little note to say thank you for your kind support on my request for adminship which succeeded with a final result of (72/19/6).

Now that I am a sysop, do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you have. I would be glad to help you along with the other group of kind and helpful administrators.

Thank you again and I look forward to editing alongside you in the future. — E talk 12:17, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

NPW bug

Hi there- long time, no chat! I'll hopefully be getting back on IRC some time soon. Anyway, I have recently downloaded the new NPW, and I am having problems with AfDs. I have nominated two articles for deletion so far, and I have had to clean up the nominations afterwards. I'll show you the diffs- [5] [6] [7] [8]. My concern comes from the all the +s and the fact it is adding the AfDs at the bottom of the list. Is that a problem at my end, or do I need to wait for Martinp23 to return? Alternatively, can you do anything about it? Thanks. J Milburn (talk) 17:25, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks very much. I'll nominate manually for the time being. J Milburn (talk) 17:29, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

hey

can you explain me why you accused me of having mutliple accounts? please read the coments I left on my talk page. I am not Darko Trifunovic, I am only writing and editing the article about him. I see that in recent weeks a muslim hacker caled Afan Pasalic is leading online campaign against Dr. Trifunovic and are constantly trying to change my article inputing false information. As I've been told I have no right to protect the article from editing (even though I am the creator) and honestly I am tiered of changing it back to original and engaging into the edit war. If you have any other solution to offer me I would appreciate it. In the meantime please look at the link for verification:

http://www.terrorfinance.org/the_terror_finance_blog/2007/12/al-qaeda-media.html

muslims are continuously having the campagn against antiterrorist intellectuals and are trying to misinform the public.

if you know how to help, please do so. otherwise dont accuse me without knowing the subject previously.

Cyric the One

Thanks. --Jack Merridew 15:51, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello again!

Sorry to continuously bother you, but I was wondering what I should do in this situation; I suspect a user of sockpuppetry (specifically, User:Lastchild being the master and User:Rzgofv being the puppet). The evidence is that Rzgofv participated in an AFD of an article they never even edited,[9] and that was their first and only contribution. I find it hard to believe that a new user would make a beeline for AFD.

The thought crossed my mind to report this at Suspected Sockpuppets, but I didn't think that was necessary; after all, the puppet isn't being used malevolently, and the user is fairly new, so I don't want to WP:BITE him. I instead will leave a message on their talk page letting them know.

I brought this up here to ask your opinion on whether I've taken the right action. Hope you don't mind, and cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 05:35, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Sidenote Here's my diff of the message I left on the user's talk page;[10] Basically, I tried not to point too much blame, but just sort of get them out of the habit. Master of Puppets Care to share? 05:43, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I always do, just this time it seemed a bit too unlikely to be separate users... thanks for leaving the note on AFD though! Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 19:17, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, at least now I know what I am being accused of. I'm not a meat or sock puppet regardless of what my "master" thinks. Thank you for at least Assuming Good Faith, Snowolf. Ya'll can take down my article if you wish, but the snide accusations do leave a bad taste. I don't know or care who Rzgovf is but I would assume he is another user of the program. Sorry to crap up your talk page, but I was being discussed here. edit in. By the way, I like Wikipedia and believe in what it is trying to do. I always use it as a starting point when I'm trying to find out about something. I've tried to edit in an appropriate way, and I'll not let this tiny controversy color my future usage.
