The article is making a ridiculous claim only sourcing Jonah Falcon himself via a tabloid. No scientific or photographic visual verification exists to back up these claims. The evidence that is out there such as provided suggests that it is a bold and inaccurate exaggeration. --174.0.34.231 (talk) 13:11, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

I think editors who are attempting to contribute across a language barrier are brave, and should be given assistance. I have seen discussions you've been in and been to your page before. I make plenty of formatting errors and typos on my own, but am pained when I see native English speakers make and leave their mistakes. While I couldn't help with the situation, I'm glad to help. Good luck. Dru of Id (talk) 04:21, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
protection tag on THUNDERSTORMs?????
Dear Tbhotch, I am like you. Why have a protection tag on a page titled THUNDERSTORM?????? If you ever find the out the story behind it, could you post something. No reason, other than a case of none-of-my-business curiosity. If you think it not wise to post something, that is ok too. Jack --Jackehammond (talk) 05:16, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Alright how come you undid the images I posted? Did they have a copyright issue?

I don't have time to look into this right now, but I noticed you were the user who started the ANI thread on User:Noozgroop's improper edits and refusal to react here. It looks like they're still making the exact same type of edit now for which they were blocked earlier this year, as far as I can tell.--Yaksar(let's chat)16:46, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok, cool. I just noticed that a ton of those changes were being made (not all of them which seemed to match the article's style, but I honestly didn't check as much as I should have) and that the user was oddly non-responsive so I thought I'd tell you just in case. Thanks.--Yaksar(let's chat)16:57, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I recently had a run in with a pretty obnoxious IP vandal and I notice he's been attacking one of your user-pages since June 2011 (removing "Small Soldiers"). I did some more digging and discovered that this character has been around since at least November 2010. I'm wondering if you can shed some light on the person. Do you know why he's doing this? He seems to be completely non-communicative and I have begun to wonder if he isn't a vandal bot. I assume you've had plenty of interaction with him, but has this interaction all been one-sided? Has he ever made a comment in talk or in an edit summary that you are aware of? -Thibbs (talk) 13:48, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
Noooo why did you remove the protection template from Guns N' Roses hahaha. Now every Tom, Dick and Harry is going to be able to edit it however they like. :) MiMiN (talk) 08:29, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi. I was checking the RFUB category, and there was an unblock request from a guy you warned recently. It might get a little out of hand (it already kind of has). Just thought you might be interested. The user' name starts with loser, followed by a string of numbers. 71.132.140.246 (talk) 23:38, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Hello, don't take this as a complaint, more just curiosity. You recently edited my user page. I had inserted an infobox and apparently had inadverntently copied and pasted some uneeded code along with it. ({pp-semi-blp|small=yes}}{{pp-move-indef}) Your edit summary simply said "removing a protection template from a non-protected page" How does that string affect my page? And, how did you become aware of it? Thanks, - thewolfchild14:12, 6 May 2012 (UTC)(I will look for your reply here)
Nope. Thanks for the 'non-answer'. I guess you have jumped around editing other people's user pages so much that you have to resort to creating a standardized faq response to fend off all the users you have annoyed? I thought it was pretty clear that I didn't protect my page. As for the small line of code, you could have simply messaged me to point it out. As well, your faq states "A5: while there is no specific policy against that, I believe this is generally considered wrong...", so it is also pretty clear you had no business editing my user page. I'll thank you to leave it alone... - thewolfchild01:09, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes, perhaps you should provide an "essay". It would interest me to see you explain why you didn't address the simple question I put forward to you in the first place. Then you can go on to explain why you need to put the focus on my bolding of the word my when referring to the user page that I do not own, (the one about me that I created and maintain) instead of addressing the real issues here such as why you feel it's so important to quote policies such as WP:OWN while at the same time ignoring others such as WP:CIVIL. And lastly, I'll ask again why you felt the need to edit MY user page, instead of just messaging me? You are a perfect example of what's wrong with Wikipedia. You had an opportunity for a positive exchange of co-operation and education (see [2]), but instead chose to just march it and edit with only the most minimal explanation. Even when I politely tried to ask you for more information, you simply direct me to a useless faq. Considering all the work you claim to put into the project on your user page, I am somewhat surprised at your rude and dismissive arrogance. I look forward to that essay... - thewolfchild12:01, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
"...And for the essay above I'm not going to do so, if you are an "expert" in sarcasm you should know when someone is being sarcastic, even in written text. (This is amusing...) Obviously there is a discrepancy between your recognition and use of sarcasm. But that's not the issue here. Perhaps you need to re-read my original question, which I posted both directly and politely - no sarcasm at all. You removed a string of protection template code from my user page. I advised you that I had inadvertantly copied and pasted it along with the infobox I had added (check the Hx if you like). So, to be clear - I had no intention of trying to 'protect' my page. I have no issue with that template being removed. If I was aware of it, I would have removed it myself. I wasn't aware of it because there was no padlock icon or any other indicator showing on my page. Hence the reason I asked you "How does that string affect my page?". I then asked "...how did you become aware of it?" You failed to answer either question. Your response was just as minimal as your edit comment, which could be considered somewhat impolite. Instead of answering the actual question I asked, you chose to focus on the fact that I referred to my user page as just that, (instead of Thewolfchild's user page?), and go on to lecture me about ownership. This has nothing to do with the issue at hand. And, while I did not state you required "permission" to edit my page, I did however, point out that you seem to lack the policy to do so - by your own words. I further pointed out to you that I had no intention of trying to protect my page, (a fact you seem to continually ignore,) and I commented that perhaps you could have messaged me about the template beforehand. (you know, communicate on the issue, perhaps educate a little...) But instead, you chose to be arbitrary and belligerent. This is hardly the conduct of the admin wanna-be that you clearly are. Your user page brags about your 110 million contribs in only 2½ months. You rollback, review, autopatrol and fight vandals, (all while being a mild mannered reporter by day) yet you don't seem that well versed in concepts like WP:MYOB, WP:EQ, WP:AGF, WP:NOCLUE, WP:BITE, WP:ETC, ETC...
- Also, please note that I will not consider ESLan excuse a factor. Your user page claims that you are an "advanced" user of english. You willingly and extensively contribute to the english edition of the project. So, let's not play that 'card'...
- Now, why don't you take a moment -focus- and try answering the simple questions I originally posed. Can you do that? - thewolfchild00:09, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your help with the Horse racing rename. Yep, I sure didn't know what I was doing, but it seemed no one else on the project did either. I guess diving in and screwing up stuff at least gets the problem noticed! Thanks for your patience. Montanabw(talk)02:15, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
polite?
Does this fit in with WP?
"As you have read, the rules are simple; it all depends on whether you want to play by them. As I see it there are only two options: either help me or (sorry to say it so boldly) just shut up."
People can be offended by just about anything, if they choose to be. As the text stands, it doesn't insult anyone or attack anyone, but it is rather bold, as noted by the bracketed section. Really this is up to Tbhotch, so I'll leave it to them. CMD (talk) 12:29, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
If you find "shut up" offensive, I find many other things offensive. As Chip said, people offends by anything. If you found it "offensive", others will not. And for the essay above I'm not going to do so, if you are an "expert" in sarcasm you should know when someone is being sarcastic, even in written text. I don't need your permission to edit a page that belong to the community, even if you don't like it. Furthermore, even if I don't remove the templates, the respective bot would do so or somebody else. If you don't like people editing a page that doesn't belong to you, create a monobook version of your page, transclude it, and ask full protection. Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it!See terms and conditions.19:02, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Let's keep things simple, shall we? This section is simply to address your demand that people 'follow your rules or just shut up'. Do you even care that some people might not find that to be an appropriate comment for Wikipedia?
Also, let's not be lazy. Your response to the template issue should be posted in the appropriate section. (see above) Let's take it there, shall we? - thewolfchild22:56, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
"Do you even care that some people might not find that to be an appropriate comment for Wikipedia?" Please care yourself in not adding material "that some people might find [inappropriate] for Wikipedia", like:
I AM YOUR FATHER (just ask your mom...)
This user is laughing at YOU
This user is a native speaker of Bullshit.
This user is able to contribute with a professional level of Sarcasm.
Fine... if I answer your question, will you (finally) answer mine?
I AM YOUR FATHER - is a parody.
This user is laughing at you - explain how that's offensive? (or are you just reaching?)
This user is a native speaker of Bullshit. - this is a pre-established userbox/humour template in wide usage.
This user is able to contribute with a professional level of Sarcasm - this is a pre-established userbox/humour template in wide usage (it's also true).

Deaer Tbhotch,
Thanks for you interest on the Mexican Presidential Elections article. I still work on the polls section and soon I am adding the results of the polls carried out by surveying companies (in almost all of them the leading candidate is Enrique Peña). Unlike, in the independent or academic surveys the leading candidate comes out López Obrador. This contradictory reality should be registered in en.wikipedia. I am adding to this article the polls as published in the Spanish version of wikipedia. Noteworthy is the fact that in Mexico there ARE NOT official polls carried out by the election's authority, but only in the day of the election (the so called PREP tally). So, we should not use a header such as "Offical Polls".--GabEuro (talk) 04:13, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your remarks, Tbhotch,
I am one of the authors collaborating in the polls table of the Spanish article. All the content is public domain information released by the surveying organisations. I will translate the name of the parties now. I am not yet done with this work and hope not falling asleep soon.
We can follow the style used in the English version using bold case for the leading candidate.
Hope that you, and other wikipedians could help improving or correcting the grammar of this section.
--GabEuro (talk) 05:23, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Nobody in the list of wikipedia's copyright that you show me is original author of the information contained in the Spanish article. I am also listed there.
I have not transferred a whole article, but a table, which at the end will look different that that of the Spanish version. I am more concerned about the templates because I will not have time to correct them tonight. --GabEuro (talk) 05:53, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi again, We are not reproducing, translating or transferring any TEXT from Spanish composed by he authors. Wikipedia copyright policies clearly refer to texts. We are using punctual information that, at previously, has been also reproduced by some of the editors/autors of the Spanish version of the article(me, among them). In fact, we are using the information released to the public by the original sources (polling companies, institutions and media) and we are crediting them in the reference list. I know that I must yet correct the templates, but I need to go to sleep now. I will do it tomorrow.
Thanks! Have a good time!
Shin Megami Tensei is one of the most important role-playing franchises both in Japan and internationally. Shin Megami Tensei 4 is the first main-franchise game in almost a decade.
The game is being announced on Famitsu, the leading Japanese video game magazine with a full two-page spread. What you are doing is continuously shooting down an article before it can even get on its own feet. You are being purposefully dismissive and are clearly not in touch with how relevant this title is. Von Karma (talk) 21:18, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
If you simply were to take your time and check sites such as IGN, Siliconera and literally ANY VIDEO GAME WEBSITE you will see that the hype for this game is huge. Please, come up with a better argument next time. Von Karma (talk) 21:23, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
I included a source in my latest edit, one which you swiftly took down with no consideration. I was gathering more information in the process and then realized that yes, once again, you walked right in and deleted it.
PS: That was a really cute ad hominem of yours, very classy. If you have no clue about the topic you are talking about, I suggest next time you try and do some research. Von Karma (talk) 21:33, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Taking this personal now? At no point did I call you ignorant. I mentioned that doing your research and seeing that Shin Megami Tensei is one of the highest-selling role-playing franchises in the world would have enlightened you enough to realize that yes, an article is necessary. Von Karma (talk) 22:03, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
I read your reply on my talk page and have removed what I think won't pass per the citing rules you have pointed me to. I do have a question, as a youtube interview was released which points directly to the issue, under what circumstances would that be allowed to be added to the page? (These rules are a little confusing to me)
I wanted to add Synthpop, that was deleted, and the genre stayed in genre section for many years.
what about edits to Fred Durst, he doesn't play neo-classical metal or progressive metal, he's vocalist of Limp Bizkit that plays nu metal, rap metal, alternative metal not neo-classical metal.
about EBM, i decided to add alternative dance, because of stylistic origins (look at section of stylistic origins in alternative dance article).
about Groove Metal, the same reason: look at stylistic origins section at nu metal article
about Glam Rock, synthpop and Hi-NRG were influenced by glam rock (look at stylistic origins section at both articles), so i've decided to add to devirative forms
yes, i did original research, but i did it for good faith, i wanted to helpful and i'm not a vandal or troll or even crazy fanatic.
Hi, Tbnotch, your contributions to this article are awesome. I see that you're interested in grammatical corrections, so here you go:
You changed "A poster in which can be read" to "A poster in which it can be read". The first sentence is correct but clumsy, the second incorrect. However, the best phrasing would be "A poster which reads" or "poster stating".
Unlike Spanish, English is less strict about requiring the indefinite article, and it is unnecessary in the latter phrasing. Good English writing avoids the passive tense when possible, and good writing always uses as few words as needed. ʝunglejill04:48, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
M. Jackson himself said that the films of Robert Wise (e.g., West Side Story) heavily influenced his music video direction on Thriller (case-in-point, 'Beat It'). Also, I take it you've never seen Somebody Up There Likes Me? If you watch it, you'll clearly see scenes taken straight from the movie that were used in the Michael Jackson 'Billie Jean' music video.
Grammatical corrections
I feel terrible doing this. Tell me if I shouldn't!
Contentious? Yes; poorly sourced or unsourced, notno, in fact it is well-sourced. If the problem is the neutrality, the article already has a POV tag, and that should be discussed.
ʝunglejill22:54, 16 June 2012 (UTC) Have another one then:
It was created with the purpose of notifying readers that the page is widely visible and edited at the moment they are reading the article, and manymuch information may change rapidly. Also it is used if an event, like a disaster or a spaceflight, is continuousongoing. Another option to add itfor adding it is what users did at Occupy the Farm (adding the category "Current events" without the template), but I don't know the validityif it's valid to do that.
Better yet:
It was created with the purpose ofto notify readers that the page is widely visible and edited at the moment they are reading the article, and many information may change rapidly.

Latin music article inclusion opinion?
May I have your opinion on the inclusion scope for the Latin music task force? This is for tagging and assessments but I want to be cautious on song articles that are not really for Latin music. Erick (talk) 16:07, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I refer to anything in Spanish. A rule of thumb I use is the Latin Grammy's and the Billboard Latin music's eligibility. They require a recording at least 50% in Spanish or Portuguese, but so far, only Brazilians have been been allowed to receive nominations and awards from them. I thought about the songs you listed. Manos al Aire (as well as Mi Plan) is okay because it's in Latin pop and in Spanish. I'm okay with any artist that releases a song in Spanish version as a single since they're targeted to the Hispanophone audience especially like Christina Aguilera's songs "Genio Atrapado" and "Ven Conmigo (Solamente Tú)" since they were released as singles from Aguilera's Spanish album. This would also include artists like Laura Pausini since she also records in Spanish and it ranks the Billboard Latin chart, so Spanish version would be covered under the task force. If an album doesn't have 50% of content in Spanish or Portuguese then it's simply not included regardless of the artist. Originally I had only included artists from Latin countries such as Sepultura from Brazil, but they don't fit because their albums are in English and are not considered Latin music by sources. I even removed Marc Anthony's English albums a while ago since it didn't meet the requirement. Then you have Alejandro Sanz who is from Spain but performs in the Latin pop genre. To put simply, I'd say the task force covers Latin music as a genre rather than as simply only regional music. Erick (talk) 17:56, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
Looking back into the artists from non-Latin American countries with the examples you provided, only recordings from Spain would be in since neither the Latin Grammys or the Billboard Latin charts include artists as you say "the Philippines, some African countries, and some other regions". I'll be honest, song inclusion criteria is harder to than album inclusion. I can't say any song that ranks in the Latin Songs chart because English-language songs are there too. And I do iffy about "Si Fuera un Chico" especially since it rank on any Latin charts Any suggestions on how to approach this EDIT: I just realized something. The real problem is the Latin pop genre. It's easy to include any artists that perform Latin music but the problem arises when a recording is a Latin pop genre but is done by someone who isn't from especially like Italy. This is where I need help on deciding what to include. This isn't a problem for other genres like Regional Mexican or Tropical. Erick (talk) 13:36, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
I found two very use articles by Carlos Quintana of About.com on what Latin music is about that would help out what is included in the task force. This article explains how Latin music is defined and this article defines what is a Latin music artist. Erick (talk) 04:03, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Why are the styles under allmusic not allowed to be used as genre citations when they clearly mean genre, being so specific is just being narrow minded since style is a synonym with genre.
Hey, Tbhotch. Just to be clear about this, since the same discussion was just opened on my talk page, I'll just respond here as well, if that's okay.
First, 72.89.197.34, let me say that the genre is not a big deal, and not worth all of this trouble you're going to to try and sway people's positions on it. Secondly, just because something is cited a certain way on other Wikipedia pages does not make it policy. You don't seem to be understanding this, as every time you get into this time-wasting crusade of yours you say something along the lines of "Genre and style are synonyms," or "Other pages list styles as genres, so why can't this one?" Those other pages are not precedent nor policy, so please stop bringing them up as if they were. As for your opinion that "style" and "genre" are synonyms, read WP:V. If you can't understand that, stop editing Wikipedia. Just stop. It's the single most important policy that this website has, so if you can't understand how to abide by it, you should just stop completely. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but there is no place on this encyclopedia for people who ignore something so simple.
As for your accusation posted on my talk page that I am, in your words, "slowly changing every my chemical romance genre to pop/rock", that's not true, even if it looks like it from my reverts. Really, what I do is very simple. If an article's genre is being disputed, and a reliable website lists a genre for that article, I put it in the infobox. That's sufficient. If it lists something else separately as a style on the exact same page, it would be ridiculous to say "well, they mean genre even though they explicitly say it's something different." Find a good source that supports your argument, or quit bothering people about something that is, in all honesty, quite pointless.
Also, please sign your posts in the future. It's not hard and frankly, the fact that you still aren't doing it after all this time is annoying. When I see that I have new messages, I expect the last edit on my talk page to be from the user that edited it, not SineBot. It's just the polite thing to do. Also, I would appreciate it if you would mention that you're opening the same discussion on someone else's talk page, such as here.

Move protection
Hi, Tbhotch, help me out here. Homo is indefinitely move-protected by non-auto-confirmed accounts. After you reverted, I started wading through the various templates. A couple seemed possible, but every time I tried to add one that seemed appropriate, I got an error message about page exceeding expansion depth (which I think is a bug). Anyway, I gave up, but perhaps you could shed some light on how all this is supposed to work. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 04:55, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for being an admin and semi-protecting the page Colossus of Rhodes. As a very minor point, I did not notice that the article was being attacked all that much. "Indefinite" time frame seemed a bit large in proportion to the vandalism we've experienced IMO. If you are sure you had the correct page, fine. But we all know that determined vandals just go somewhere else. Cheers! Student7 (talk) 20:51, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
This is to let you know that an ongoing poll is taking place to move Burma to Myanmar. I know this happened just recently but no administrator would close these frequent rm's down, so here we go again. This note is going out to wikipedia members who have participated in Burma/Myanmar name changing polls in the past. It does not include banned members nor those with only ip addresses. Thank you. won't take a hint
Hi! Sorry to bother you, but this guy's at it again. He's just come off a block and gone straight back and reverted some of the stuff he got blocked for in the first place. He's been blocked like 5 times and keeps coming back and reverting the same stuff over and over again. Please ban the guy permanently... Thank you.
p.s. He's done it from other ip's as well, like this one, (same changes to the same articles, same Detroit-area IP location, etc.), so he's got a long history... BigSteve (talk) 06:19, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
SPI
It will save you a lot of hassle if you at least ping me on MariaJaydHicky's SPI reports. I missed that you opened one, and just issued the block when I saw that it was being declined despite being pretty obvious.—Kww(talk) 14:01, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Please explain exactly why you are convinced. I certainly can see that it may be her, but I can't quite find a smoking gun that convinces me that it is her.—Kww(talk) 17:57, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
Too many dynamic IPs on too big of ranges for blocking to be much good. Did a lot of semiprotection instead.—Kww(talk) 04:28, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
Most likely it's not Futoncritic but one their advertisers or affiliates that's causing the warning. The traces seem to point via .ru sites to one particularly nasty network: http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=AS:15169 My conclusion is that futoncritic either doesn't know about this or does not care. In either case, links to futoncritic (or any other similar sites) is not ok on wikipedia until they clear the issue, IMHO.
Since you are most likely better wikieditor (seriously, i don't know the syntax yet..) it would be wise to remove those links until they are reported safe.
Hi try seeing the talk page for the korn album for my sources

at Karl Blossfeldt. For a tiny article about an obscure German photographer, remembered pretty much for one book, this article receives a large amount of vandalizing. How do they (whoever "they might be) even learn about him? Anyway, I appreciate your watch. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 00:16, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

To Tbhotch
I can post what I put because it is verifiable, you do it yourself if you know how, all you have to do it verify it and list a reference. I know it is real, search it up in YouTube. All I am asking is for you to reference or verify it for me because I don't know how on the "Dead And Gone" page. (Moultage 22:12, 21 October 2012 (UTC))
