Five Pillars of Wikipedia
Float around for awhile until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. There are also many great committees and groups that focus on particular jobs. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English and Wikipedia:Cleanup for sloppy articles. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy.
There are a few crucial points to keep in mind when editing. Be civil with users, strive to maintain a neutral point of view, verify your information, and show good etiquette like signing your comments with four tildes like this: ~~~~ If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page or ask the true experts at Wikipedia:Help desk. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 03:58, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Austrian economics
editHello!
I ran across your name while reviewing the history of the "Austrian school" page. I read what you said about that article, and I'm interested in understanding your specific criticisms a bit better. Please post a message on my user page, or send me e-mail at davidbryant@att.net.
Oh -- I read through the "Zar Points" article, and I did notice a few small grammatical errors. It's been a long time since I played much bridge, and I'm unfamiliar with this particular system, so I'm not really competent to comment on the accuracy of the article, or its completeness. But I will patch up the grammatical errors in the next day or two.
Back to Austrian economics ... I'm a regular participant in an Austrian economics study group in Denver. We meet once a month. I've put a summary of the first few chapters of Mises' Human Action on the web. You can access that stuff at
http://davidbryant.home.att.net/economics.htm
to see how well I understand the epistemological basis of Austrian economics. So far as I'm aware, adherents of other schools of economic thought don't put nearly as much emphasis on epistemology as the Austrians do.
Have a great day! DavidCBryant 22:02, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Re: Soekris
editSorry for the very late reply! Anyway, I'm afraid I really don't know anyone knowledgeable on the topic. You might consider putting it up at WP:Requested articles to see if there are any takers, though, as it sounds like a reasonable thought to me. Well, not that you couldn't do it if I didn't find it reasonable. I'm just saying I think it's a good idea. - Vianello (Talk) 04:33, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Soekris (and apologies for my long absence)
editAt another user's request, I've "userfied" the old version of the deleted article on his sandbox page, where I'm certain he would welcome your insights and contributions. Sorry this has taken so obscenely long, but thanks very much for your view on the matter and your politeness. I'm sure once you've tightened it up a bit it'll be hunky-dory for resubmission. Thanks! - You know, it'd help if I told you where it was, wouldn't it? Go to User:Hobart/Soekris Engineering. If you want to copy it to your own sandbox or whatever else that's fine too. I've marked where the original article text begins, below the user's stub version. - Vianello (Talk) 05:24, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
