I am on a break at the moment, but after seeing a need to rejuvenate myself, i begun working on the article of director Sukumar. Your work on Mani Ratnam was very helpful to me in this regard. Currently, the raw version is in my sandbox. Please visit it once and give me few suggestions to improve it, esp. "Craft, style, and technical collaborations" section. Yours sincerely, Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:15, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- Don't follow the Mani Ratnam article. It wasn't great when it was promoted (to GA) almost four years ago - the quality has further deteriorated since then. A better example would be Christopher Nolan. Good luck! —Vensatry (Talk) 10:50, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks Vensatry. But i am not aiming for a GA at the moment. I wanted to make Sukumar's filmography a FL and since the parent article was very small, i intended to develop it. By the time i completed this, i could see that nearly 30K+ content is on board (without archiving). But, i am afraid that whether a list with just 8 entries can be eligible enough to be a FL or not. What do you think? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:25, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- Pavan, I guess you can wait until he releases more films, and that will make the article larger. Then an FLC may be discussed. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:29, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- Agreed. But he has announced that he shall retire after directing a couple of films. One includes DSP's acting debut and another with Ram Charan. I shall wait, but if he indeed retires, then i may have to go ahead with the FLC. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:15, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- Sometimes it may be possible to nominate a director's filmography for FL even if he has directed only a few films. Although Quentin Tarantino hasn't directed many films over the past two decades (he has announced plans to retire), his filmography has great potential for FL. I guess Sukumar filmography could be in a similar situation. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:34, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- 8-10 films surely constitute a 3(b) violation. —Vensatry (Talk) 14:36, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- It's okay. At least, i will have the satisfaction of expanding the article of a director, few of whose works form part of my all-time favourite films. It was only a plan to rejuvenate myself. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:43, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks to some timely help by Ssven2, i've completed expanding Sukumar's article. Needless to say, it looks very much better now. So, i'm back to rest, though not completely. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 18:08, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

@Pavanjandhyala: Nice work on the article thus far - GA? —Vensatry (Talk) 09:52, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Didn't aim for anything such initially. I really wanted to make it something above 12k+ with FLC intentions. The scope began increasing and it reached this level. Now that FL is not possible, i may try to aim it for GA. That too may be late as 1: Nenokkadine and Kanche, my current GA plans, are lying at the GOCE. If one of them is done, i shall add Sukumar there to polish the prose and other MOS-related issues. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:58, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Looks good enough for a GAN. —Vensatry (Talk) 10:02, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hmm. Let me see. If it becomes a GA, it shall be my first BLP-based one as all my GAs are films only. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:05, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Any plans on this article? It had trouble at the FAC but I have seen you improve it even after the failures. I hope someday you turn it to an FA. PS I have to admit something: I initially disliked the criticism you made on my certain edits and reviews but I can say that I have improved as a reviewer. Oh BTW the Sonam Kapoor article, on whose FAC you brought up an issue with my past edit, is now an FA. -- Frankie talk 13:10, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

- Appreciation, Righteousness, Sarcasm - I seriously don't understand why these words were used here. Secondly, it's you who is trying to be sarcastic (by calling me 'Mr. Self-Righteous'). Thirdly, why the heck should I be blocked? Lastly, if you feel like verbally abusing someone (so as to get blocked) please go ahead. But this isn't the right venue! —Vensatry (Talk) 18:48, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

The GA conspiracy
Hey V, a question, since you've been around for a while in the world of GA noms. I'm noticing a lot of brand-new accounts nominating Indian film articles and similar for GA. Got any conspiracy theories about this? Are they doing it because they're paid editors and GAs look better on their resumes? Or are they promoting articles to GA in the hope of driving more traffic to spam links that they'll later add? I'm curious. I noticed that JO Bieson, a relatively new user, nominated Bangalore Days for GA. It passed, but twice I've found him adding garbage references [1][2] to the article. After the first addition, I left a very detailed explanation on his talk page for why this wasn't cool, so doing it a second time is putting him fast-track of being looked at like a spammer. Anyhow, I'm curious if you have any thoughts on what the push for GA is lately. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:19, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: I'm not an active contributor to GAs. And it's been a long time since I reviewed one. This thing (brand-new accounts opening GANs and FLCs) isn't new; it has happened in the past. I'm seriously wondering how can someone (who's been here for close to seven years) pass the article. The article is largely dominated by the 'Plot' section. The second para of the 'Release' section and 'Asianet Film Awards' are totally unsourced. It clearly doesn't meet criteria 2 (a), 2 (b) and 3 (a). As for the paid-editing thing, you might want to contact Dharmadhyaksha and SpacemanSpiff. —Vensatry (Talk) 18:47, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

DYK for List of international cricket centuries at the Green Park Stadium
On 9 March 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article List of international cricket centuries at the Green Park Stadium, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Shahid Afridi's 45-ball century at the Green Park Stadium in 2005 is the fastest by a batsman in One Day Internationals in India? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of international cricket centuries at the Green Park Stadium. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Equating WP:DENY with rape shaming
Your statement here, where you equate my suggestion that you deny the trolls recognition to the hackneyed argument that if women want to avoid rape, they shouldn't dress sexy, is patently asinine. Words vs. words is not the same thing as clothes vs. rape. It's not even an apples-to-oranges comparison, it's apples-to-automobiles. Not even in the same ballpark. Equating me to a rape advocate because I had the audacity to suggest you keep a cooler head, is just nonsensical and isn't the way to earn lasting respect among your colleagues. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:01, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
- How can you expect me to keep a cooler head when disruptions continue to happen? —Vensatry (Talk) 16:46, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
- I understand that you have other 'crap' to deal with. Can you please do me a favour by staying off from me? The community doesn't revolve around a single editor (even with the case of vandals). Sell your ideas of self-righteousness elsewhere, nobody is willing to buy it here! —Vensatry (Talk) 17:22, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

63rd National Awards
I hope you'll be better aware before reverting further edits! Nothing serious though, happy editing! NumerounovedantTalk 10:36, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- Sure. Unfortunately, media in the south (for some reason) didn't mention the Bollywood winners in their articles. Later when I checked other articles (published in the north), they too seemed to have followed the same pattern (barring the ones that won in the major categories). —Vensatry (Talk) 10:43, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, it's a shame that the National Awards don't get the proper coverage, and circus shows like Filmfares and IIFA's are so well covered and promoted. Anyway I was glad that Kalki Koechlin won the Jury Award. Did you have a chance to see Margarita with a Straw? I think the award was well deserved! NumerounovedantTalk 11:06, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- Indeed, but we can't wholly blame the press. The DFF should take steps to promote the ceremony and possibly increase the transparency in the selection process - by at least announcing the nominees. As for the revert, I initially thought some fans might have added Vikram's and Kalki's win. I haven't seen Margarita with a Straw, but saw the trailer a year ago. I even read an interview of the director. The theme was pretty interesting (in the Indian context). But her win surprises me because, I thought the makers won't submit it for the NFA. It looked like an independent film shot mostly with lesser-known actors. I wasn't really able to recognise anybody except Revathi and Kalki. —Vensatry (Talk) 13:11, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes it's funny that you mentioned that, I was reading an article on how Ritika Singh was shocked on winning because she didn't even know that she was nominated! Anyway it is how it and you're right we cannot wholely blame anyone for that! NumerounovedantTalk 17:26, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
