Sock figuring out w/o CU
How are you able to figure out who is sockpuppet without a checkuser right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.109.220 (talk) 06:41, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
- It depends on the particular user. In general, behavioural evidence. Most sockpuppet accounts are blatantly obvious. --Yamla (talk) 11:19, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
Help needed
About my block due to open proxy issue... I am not so good explain in English and and i am not some computer genious so i need your help. I found that other user on my PC instaled some VPN Proxy Unblocker and i am not sure why but i think he was watching some sport game. As soon as i realised this i uninstaled the app and now i dont know how to fix the issue with my IP address. I checked my IP online and it says that my IP is 95.86.40.235. Please can you tell me how to resolve the problem and my IP on my PC to be unblocked? As you see my IP from my phone is OK. As i understand that IP is not my real IP adress even if the VPN app is uninstalled? How can i refert my real IP adress? Can you help me? Dellux mkd (talk) 20:27, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- I think that i resolved the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience. Now my IP is 95.86.40.176 and now i can edit on my PC again. Dellux mkd (talk) 06:21, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Excellent! Sorry I was unable to respond sooner, though there probably wouldn't have been anything I could do. --Yamla (talk) 11:27, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Zesty?
Hi Yamla, I hope all is well with you and yours,
Just wondering Realityshowslover99 wouldn't happen to be Zesty would they ?, Just seeing them make lots of edits to various seasons of a reality tv show has made me wonder,
I know you can spot them easily so figured I'd ask just in case :),
Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 22:08, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
- I don't think so. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I don't think so. The edit history doesn't overlap with ZestyLemonz (at least on that account, though there were a lot of other accounts and I haven't checked them all), but more importantly, there's a long history of edits from that account and no history of inappropriate edits, unlike the ZestyLemonz socks. Primarily based on the history stretching back to 2014, I don't think it is a sock. --Yamla (talk) 11:31, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Brexx
Hi Yalma, this is Brexx, you blocked me way back in 2008, and ok, yes before i deserved it, because i wasn't very familiar with the rules of wikipedia…but now im different …i total changed….I pledge to not put anything that i didn't personally write and not upload images or other media that are not entirely my own work. I understand that copyrighted material should not be put in wikipedia and that there will be consequences if users don't follow the rules of wikipedia and of the law. Anyone who wishes to edit wikipedia should follow their rules and take them seriously.
I have read the relevant policy pages on Wikipedia and some Wikipedia articles on the subject of copyright, i read the Wikipedia:Copyrights and the Wikipedia:Copyright violations articles several times and understand them completely. Wikipedia is very dear to my heart and now i fully comply with the rules of copyright and the rules of wikipedia and i will only assume good faith…….if you see all my edits from all my recent accounts, you will see that all im doing is adding reliable information with reliable sources…….please, i don't want to keep going from account to account…i want stability……ill do anything….i admit i should not have created all these new accounts, but what's done is done, and im begging for forgiveness and closure………if your still spectical, you can unblock me and have someone monitor my edits, im more than ok with that because i know that im now editing in good faith and adding reliable information with relialbe sources…..please open a discussion about unblocking me here and see what other admins think: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:AN
side note about my brexx account: I forgot my Brexx password and the e-mail i registered when i created the account got deleted because i did not use it for a long time, , so i cant recover my wikipedia password, so i can't use the brexx account anymore...everytime i create a new account, i get blocked.....
Thank you, Yamla!
Much obliged for terminating the collateral damage! I have to tell you that, despite my annoyance, I've gotten a huge laugh out of this--these guys are the rudest possible tenants of an office building with a shared common area, but to think that on top of leaving ramen noodles in the sink drain for others to clean up, they SPAM WIKIPEDIA!? and GET ME AUTOBLOCKED!? You couldn't pay a Hollywood writer to dream that up for some sitcom. I appreciate your good faith very much! -
Hello?
Have you been to the Teahouse?

Earlier unblock of 110.175.234.251
If the main account of 110.175.251.234 is unblocked this year, will the IP address be unblocked earlier? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.109.220 (talk) 01:56, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- I have no idea what you are talking about. Be specific. What account? What is your interest? --Yamla (talk) 10:43, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
How can 110.175.251.234 be unblocked earlier? 27.33.109.220 —Preceding undated comment added 04:20, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- If SamuilKrasavtsev is unblocked or if we are sure this block-evading sockpuppeteer has stopped editing, yes. --Yamla (talk) 11:00, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oh for crying out loud. It's you. Still evading your block. Go away. Each time you edit, you show you are unwilling to abide by Wikipedia's policies. --Yamla (talk) 11:05, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
Comments on my talk page for Edit to Oru Adaar Love
Thanks for taking your time to providing editorial comments new users to improve their contributions.
Can you please clarify disruptive editing or vandalism? Her page was redirecting to the movie. I created a open stub for her to get her own article. Her profile had been deleted earlier that she didnt have the film released. Now that the film is released and she had enough references, thought she is a notable person to have her own profile page. Also I dont understand need for the language from you in my talk page. Here is the policy on vandalism. There is no malicious intent other than to create her own page which had been deleted earlier even though she is an extremely popular personality. "On Wikipedia, vandalism has a very specific meaning: editing (or other behavior) deliberately intended to obstruct or defeat the project's purpose, which is to create a free encyclopedia, in a variety of languages, presenting the sum of all human knowledge.
The malicious removal of encyclopedic content",
Here is the original update details I made. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Oru_Adaar_Love&type=revision&diff=883552101&oldid=883396826
Also please explain further on disruptive editing . This was a single edit to a page. see above for change made. Not sure if there is a pattern extending over a long time. There was no maliciousness, no harrassment to anyone.
"Disruptive editing is a pattern of editing that may extend over a long time on many articles, and disrupts progress toward improving an article or building the encyclopedia. " — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arasksk (talk • contribs)
- That page was deleted as per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Priya Prakash Varrier, so by community consensus. You modified a redirect to point it to a non-existent page and did so in violation of the comment listed on the page, warning not to recreate the article. So, you ignored the comment and broke the redirect. And this after many previous warnings on your own user talk page, warning you about WP:NOTE and other violations. Given that, your edits did not appear to be constructive. --Yamla (talk) 18:49, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Block evasion
Fly high in the sky? Why have I been blocked? I’m baffled. TrottieTrue (talk) 18:34, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- If you are able to edit my talk page, you are not currently blocked. --Yamla (talk) 19:28, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Well when I had Wi-fi, it let me edit again. Then when I was using my phone data, the block message came back. It currently does let me edit again, but it said I was blocked until 23 February earlier on. - TrottieTrue (talk) 22:05, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Okay. If this continues to be a problem for you, please let me know! In particular, I need to know your IP address when it's a problem. You can find this using WhatIsMyIP. Note that you are not the target of this block, it's someone else, a rather annoying and persistent someone else. --Yamla (talk) 23:10, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- I noticed earlier when trying to edit that I was blocked. I was using my mobile phone data. I turned it off and on, and the edit then worked. I saved a screenshot of the message. I have no trouble editing using Wi-fi. The IP was 185.69.145.94 — TrottieTrue (talk) 03:26, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
- That's not my block. That's a global block by Arjaddatz, blocked globally for long-term abuse. --Yamla (talk) 11:20, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2019).
Interface administrator changes
|
|
- The RfC on administrator activity requirements failed to reach consensus for any proposal.
- Following discussions at the Bureaucrats' noticeboard and Wikipedia talk:Administrators, an earlier change to the restoration of adminship policy was reverted. If requested, bureaucrats will not restore administrator permissions removed due to inactivity if there have been five years without a logged administrator action; this "five year rule" does not apply to permissions removed voluntarily.
- A new tool is available to help determine if a given IP is an open proxy/VPN/webhost/compromised host.
- The Arbitration Committee announced two new OTRS queues. Both are meant solely for cases involving private information; other cases will continue to be handled at the appropriate venues (e.g., WP:COIN or WP:SPI).
- paid-en-wp wikipedia.org has been set up to receive private evidence related to abusive paid editing.
- checkuser-en-wp wikipedia.org has been set up to receive private requests for CheckUser. For instance, requests for IP block exemption for anonymous proxy editing should now be sent to this address instead of the functionaries-en list.
- The Arbitration Committee announced two new OTRS queues. Both are meant solely for cases involving private information; other cases will continue to be handled at the appropriate venues (e.g., WP:COIN or WP:SPI).
- Following the 2019 Steward Elections, the following editors have been appointed as stewards: Base, Einsbor, Jon Kolbert, Schniggendiller, and Wim b.

Closure
Thanks a million for title=Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents&diff=prev&oldid=886453975 this. I think you meant "inappropriate", just in case you want to amend it. --MarchOrDie (talk) 11:30, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- I actually meant "appropriate" in this case. The appropriate locations in this case are the user's talk page and the topic ban board. I may be short of coffee this morning but I'm pretty sure I did indeed mean "appropriate" instead of "inappropriate" here. It would be inappropriate for Awardmaniac to continue editing articles around Michael Jackson, but the appropriate place for me to tell Awardmaniac of this is their user talk page. :) --Yamla (talk) 11:43, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, it was the second instance of the word I was flagging up. "If Akhiljaxxn continues edit-warring or engaging in appropriate edits, a topic ban and/or 1RR restriction is a likely follow-up." Thanks again for doing the heavy lifting. --MarchOrDie (talk) 12:24, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Oh. Yes. I'll go fix that. --Yamla (talk) 12:36, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Awardmaniac
Despite ban and warnings Awardmaniac has posted again on a Michael Jackson page today:

175.143.166.187 keeps putting Rumors in Geforce 16 series
On the geforce 16 series page, 175.143.166.187 keeps putting the GTX 1650 ti and GTX 1650 even though that hasn't been announced by Nvidia. This has been going on since February 25, 2019 and he keeps doing that even though it hasn't been officially announced. he has also edited other pages including Nvidia Purevideo and High Efficiency Video Coding implementations and products to put the geforce gtx 1650 and geforce gtx 1660 which don't officially exist. He has ignored his talk page where people have been telling him that his edits don't have a source but he proceeded to blank the page. TurboSonic (talk) 14:37, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for the unblock. I really appreciate it and won't let you down. --Andrewbankson (talk) 00:55, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Right now I am just going through random articles and trying to find things to fix so that I am more comfortable editing. Its a little different when an editor is here without a specific focus or topic (like I was before). --Andrewbankson (talk) 01:30, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Warnings on articles
When are warnings on articles removed? I added categories to the article Joel Geddis but the warning is still there. Did I not add enough or does it get reviewed at some point? --PiePellicane (talk) 23:40, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- If you believe it has enough categories, you can remove the warning! There's no schedule for this, we are all volunteers and the warning would be removed when someone noticed. --Yamla (talk) 11:20, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will remove. I figure someone will add it back if they disagree. Thanks for the help. --PiePellicane (talk) 22:41, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
Block of 141.226.195.0/24
I just unblocked 141.226.195.18 following a discussion at User talk:Zvikorn where SQL said that this likely is not a webhost but a regular ISP (which also offers hosting services and doesn't clearly separate the IPs for both services), just to see that 141.226.195.0/24 is also blocked, for longer, for basically the same reason. It appears that there is some collateral damage here. Am I missing something, is SQL mistaken, or should the rangeblock also be lifted? Huon (talk) 03:11, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
- According to ipqs, that whole range is Triple C Cloud Computing. All IP addresses in that /24 show up as proxies according to ipqs. Could it be a mistake? Yes. According to their website, they offer cloud computing services, hosting, and ISP services. So then, I'd run an nmap on the specific IP to check if it was part of the cloud computing services (in which case a number of the ports would be open) or part of the ISP services (in which case you'd expect all ports to be closed). Running against just that single IP address shows now that all ports are closed. That's good enough for me, I have lifted the /24 block. I'm obviously not going to scan all 255 addresses in that range. Also, I wish ISPs would stop calling themselves "Cloud Computing" and showing up as proxies in ipqs. --Yamla (talk) 10:01, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks! Huon (talk) 17:17, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

It's great to see and makes it worthwhile for me to continue with the unblock request reviews. :) --Yamla (talk) 10:43, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

As you can see I'm unblocked now. The disruption leading to my block happened on @CaradhrasAiguo's talk page. I therefore believe you might want to semi protect his talkpage for a few days so I cannot continue the disruption. What I want answered (and was trying to get @CaradhrasAiguo to answer, even reverting an archival bot) I will post on the Teahouse as soon as possible after posting the message. You may wish to notify the user about this post. If you reply (please assume good faith), message me at my talk page. Thanks.111.220.164.171 (talk) 11:10, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

He's back
Just so you know, User:Martinkopperudandersen, whose unblock request you denied a couple of months ago, has returned to the scene of his original crime at Cristiano Ronaldo and is again making disruptive edits. I suggest another block might be in order, unless this user can prove they can play by the rules. – PeeJay 17:22, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
I provided a reliable source to his height a while ago, which was the official release by Fifa for the World Cup in 2018. There his height was 185 cm. And an exact measurement of Ronaldo done by a science team for a sky sport documentary statet his height as 185,1 cm. Here is a short clip from the documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM4EiYo2zvA
My last edit before this was approved and was listed on wikipedia for a while before the listing og 1.89 cm was added. This listing is not valid, since he has never been decribed or been given this height ever before. Remember he is 34 years old and has not grown 4 cm since last measurement. Martinkopperudandersen (talk) 18:48, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Martinkopperudandersen: That’s not the point. You rolled back the article to a very old version just so you could restore your preferred height data. You appear to have learned nothing from your prior block. – PeeJay 07:48, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Interface administrator changes

|
- In Special:Preferences under "Appearance" → "Advanced options", there is now an option to show a confirmation prompt when clicking on a rollback link.
- The Wikimedia Foundation's Community health initiative plans to design and build a new user reporting system to make it easier for people experiencing harassment and other forms of abuse to provide accurate information to the appropriate channel for action to be taken. Please see meta:Community health initiative/User reporting system consultation 2019 to provide your input on this idea.
- The Arbitration Committee clarified that the General 1RR prohibition for Palestine-Israel articles may only be enforced on pages with the {{ARBPIA 1RR editnotice}} edit notice.
- Two more administrator accounts were compromised. Evidence has shown that these attacks, like previous incidents, were due to reusing a password that was used on another website that suffered a data breach. If you have ever used your current password on any other website, you should change it immediately. All admins are strongly encouraged to enable two-factor authentication, please consider doing so. Please always practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.
- As a reminder, according to WP:NOQUORUM, administrators looking to close or relist an AfD should evaluate a nomination that has received few or no comments as if it were a proposed deletion (PROD) prior to determining whether it should be relisted.
Unblock IP address 186.137.218.201 request.
Hello there. Could you please unblock the IP address of 186.137.218.201 right away? He has already stated that he won´t go into the Wikipedia ever again in his life and has admitted that everything that he has done was wrong. He has also learnt that he can´t change the Wikipedia article of One Piece and will accept the way it is. But, however of all of this, he also wants to get unblocked because he can´t stand the idea of being blocked. Also, being blocked out of nowhere, witouth the ability to speak and for 6 MONTHS is out of proportion. So, I repeat once again, could you please unblock the IP address of 186.137.218.201 right away? If you can´t do it yourself, then contact Yamla, who´s the user who blocked him up in the first place. Thanks! Suspicious user
Hi , I recently reported a user named Repixel for having a username which is similar to a website. The user also created pages related to that site. Now what makes me suspicious is the fact that all the other edits by this user are only typo corrections, and suddenly he comes up with a page on "Repixelling". Repixelling is something that is related to digital marketing, something that is very much a concern on wikipedia. My opinion on this is that the user is affiliated, if not an employee in that company "Repixel" and edited the typos to create some kind of edit count to get autoconfirmation, he can very well be already a part of a sockfarm, or will be part of one soon. Not adding link to the userpage, as I don't want him to find out Daiyusha (talk) 13:32, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

ClappedCuck
Hello. I am disappointed by the lack of adequate consideration given to ClappedCuck. I also made similar remarks at User talk:NJA. I think you did not adequately study the user's edits. You said "None of your contributions have been productive", and that is simply false. Their edits to both List of school shootings in the United States and George Faulkner (ice hockey) have been constructive, as has been their interaction in discussions on their User talk page. That is most of their entire edit history, so it should matter. When pressed, they provided independent reliable sources to justify the edits. That is not the behavior of a vandal. Clearly, they are new to Wikipedia and not familiar with its customs, but they are making an effort, and that should be appreciated. —BarrelProof (talk) 19:02, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- I strongly encourage you to post the above on that user's talk page. I may have made a mistake here. Hey, it happens, and I encourage people to ignore me when I'm clearly mistaken. By posting that to the user's talk page, you can encourage them to make another unblock request and will serve as a vote of confidence, when the next admin reviews the block. --Yamla (talk) 19:04, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will do that. I have also cleaned up the edit of George Faulkner (ice hockey). —BarrelProof (talk) 19:43, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)
ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.
For the Arbitration Committee, -Cameron11598 21:04, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – May 2019
News and updates for administrators from the past month (April 2019).
- A request for comment concluded that creating pages in the portal namespace should be restricted to autoconfirmed users.
- Following a request for comment, the subject-specific notability guideline for pornographic actors and models (WP:PORNBIO) was removed; in its place, editors should consult WP:ENT and WP:GNG.
- XTools Admin Stats, a tool to list admins by administrative actions, has been revamped to support more types of log entries such as AbuseFilter changes. Two additional tools have been integrated into it as well: Steward Stats and Patroller Stats.
- In response to the continuing compromise of administrator accounts, the Arbitration Committee passed a motion amending the procedures for return of permissions (diff). In such cases,
the committee will review all available information to determine whether the administrator followed "appropriate personal security practices" before restoring permissions
; administrators found failing to have adequately done sowill not be resysopped automatically
. All current administrators have been notified of this change. - Following a formal ratification process, the arbitration policy has been amended (diff). Specifically, the two-thirds majority required to remove or suspend an arbitrator now excludes (1) the arbitrator facing suspension or removal, and (2) any inactive arbitrator who does not respond within 30 days to attempts to solicit their feedback on the resolution through all known methods of communication.
- In response to the continuing compromise of administrator accounts, the Arbitration Committee passed a motion amending the procedures for return of permissions (diff). In such cases,
- A request for comment is currently open to amend the community sanctions procedure to exclude non XfD or CSD deletions.
- A proposal to remove pre-2009 indefinite IP blocks is currently open for discussion.

Multiple accounts
Is leaving {{User alternate acct | name}} template on user page all it takes to be permitted to use multiple accounts? Is this sock puppetry? --49.195.42.215 (talk) 07:13, 7 May 2019 (UTC)

Banned user User:Binit14 making sock edits
Sir, banned User:Binit14 is making sock edits through IP at Semwal. This by Binit14 and this by IP. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:54, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
- Yeap. I have protected the page from anonymous editing. --Yamla (talk) 10:30, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

You made this edit to Jamal Badawi, a biography of a living person. Are you under the impression that investigativeproject.org is a reliable, independent, published source "with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy"? A cursory look at their website would tell you that the organization is partisan and very clearly agenda-driven. 2601:243:903:3F5B:254F:CE78:74E5:1209 (talk) 14:22, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- I have started a discussion over on Talk:Muslim Association of Canada. I added a link to an article from the Edmonton Journal, which clearly is a reliable source. I make no claim as to investigativeproject.org and did not introduce that link originally. Let's move the discussion over to the article's talk page! --Yamla (talk) 14:23, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- Sure, I've responded there. Thanks. I just want to add that the same argument I made above regarding investigativeproject.org also applies to your use of the Clarion Project. 2601:243:903:3F5B:254F:CE78:74E5:1209 (talk) 14:43, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
User:OdRajput
Sir, User:OdRajput is using cuss words against me in my talk page (even after I warned him) after I reverted his unsourced changes here. Now he is re adding those unsourced content. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:47, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- Blocked for the legal threat. Note that I can't read most of what that user posted, though. --Yamla (talk) 14:56, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. Actually he was using a Hindi dialect. And in coarse language, he told me to visit different states of India, he is a Orh himself and was directing me to various facebook and blogs. He called me criminal and used this cuss word among others. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:20, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

Added image
@Yamla: I've now added image File:Build SSHS.jpg to Saint Solomon High School article. Please look if there is any sort of violation. Chinar (Message | Contribs) 08:58, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- I understand you took that picture yourself. If so, great! No violation. --Yamla (talk) 11:12, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

Revert
Why did you classify my edit as unconstructive and vandalism? It would be helpful if you provide reasoning. Thank you. 156.205.224.196 (talk) 23:52, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- You falsely claim the citation shows the Mountain gazelle is the official national animal of Palestine. You provided this citation which indicates an organisation is trying to make the gazelle the national animal, but not that it currently is. Your second citation doesn't even mention the gazelle at all. You need to show the gazelle is currently the official national animal of Palestine, and you need to do so using a reliable source. --Yamla (talk) 00:22, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for finally providing feedback. Firstly, I will do my best to search for a better source since the citation I provided is admittedly inadequate. However, using aggressive language to describe my edit is not fair as I did not make any unequivocal claim regarding the citation, false or otherwise. With regards to the second citation, it was for the sunbird, not gazelle, and I mistakenly left it beside both. 156.205.224.196 (talk) 00:51, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- I found a few other sources however none of them appear to meet Wikipedia's reliability criterion. I'd like to restore the edit by excluding the gazelle and leaving the sunbird as per the source (second citation) provided but would like your input first. 156.205.224.196 (talk) 01:05, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- The first citation you provided is probably sufficient. The second citation clearly wasn't, so I removed it. But that's okay, your edit stands as you provided a reasonable citation. --Yamla (talk) 15:59, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
Access to create page
Hello Yamla i want access to create an article on CarryMinati. I saw it was a protected page and editing it wasn't allowed. Chinar (Message | Contribs) 05:57, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- You can see the explanation at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:CarryMinati and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Carry Minati. It looks like WP:NOTE has never been demonstrated. If this person is still only notable as a Youtuber, you probably shouldn't attempt to recreate the article. If they are substantially notable outside of Youtube (that is, not just because of Youtube) and this notability happened in the past two years, there may be a path forward to getting the lock removed. --Yamla (talk) 11:11, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

- A better citation is the Time Magazine article itself, which appears to be [this]. That appears to me to mean the situation is radically different than it was two years ago. I have removed protection from CarryMinati which should allow you to create the article. You are probably better off starting at Draft:CarryMinati. Note that several people are likely watching both locations, so please be very careful to firmly establish WP:NOTE right from the beginning. --Yamla (talk) 16:05, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Yamla: Thanks. Chinar(Message) 16:33, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Topic Ban
If you recall a few months back, I was topic banned for creating a page about the company I work for. I have conditions per my unblock to meet before I am able to edit on that topic again, but was approached by my company and asked to recreate the page. At this point, I want nothing to do with creating the page and told them that. What I went through was kind of embarrassing and don't feel like going through something like that again. As of now, I am simply enjoying my time here (what little that has been). I just wanted to give you the heads up since you have been good with working with me through the situation. --PiePellicane (talk) 02:37, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
How to flag sockpuppets
Hi Yamla. Can you give me some advice on how to indicate that an account may be using another account as a sockpuppet? -- Doctorx0079 (talk) 23:53, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
- I think you are trying to flag an IP address. You can use Template:IPsock ({{IPsock|blocked user}}). That's already been done in this case. If they are using another account, you can follow WP:SPI to open an investigation. --Yamla (talk) 00:08, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

Regarding unblock review of User:HugoNite
I seriously doubt HugoNite's account was broken into, and I feel that he was using it as an excuse to regain access to his account and continue vandalizing. ElectricBurst(Electron firings)(Zaps) 14:59, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
- I agree, that's the most likely explanation. Either way, it won't lead to the account being unblocked. :) --Yamla (talk) 15:03, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Guy Smith
I note you’ve removed a lot of the updated information I added on the Guy N Smith page, and reverted amended information back to showing incorrect information. Why have you done this? Removing titles, updated information, and changing correct information to incorrect information is surely against the point of Wikipedia?! Please can you undo your amendments to the Guy N Smith page, or justify why showing incorrect and outdated information is better than current and correct information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.250.93 (talk • contribs)
