"Characters of x" vs. "List of x characters"

I've noticed that the "characters" articles on Wikipedia seem to be titled in two different ways: "characters of x" and "list of x characters". "List of x characters" end up being lists, while "characters of x" articles are just, well, articles. For example, why is list of characters in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow a list, while characters of Kingdom Hearts not a list? They both appear to be lists. Vlore article is offensive to the citizens of vlore

hi!

i am a representative of the municipality of Vlore which is an town in Albania. Recently during my visit in USA i was shown the Wikipedia page of vlore. i personally felt offended by Greek the propaganda and i was surprised on how such incorrect information about a town that is clearly more than 3000 years old was allowed on Wikipedia.


Errors that i found in the article: 1- Vlorë or Vlora (Greek: Αυλώνα, Avlona) is the second.... Greek is not the official language of Albania nor it is a second language. as stated in the CIA world fact book. (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/al.html) In my opinion there is not a more accurate source then CIA itself. The Greek name of vlore should be removed.


2- in the history section of the page it states"Vlorë is one of the oldest cities of Albania. It was founded by Greeks in the 6th century BC and named Aulōn, one of three such colonies on the coast of Illyria,[1] mentioned for the first time by Ptolemy (Geographia, III, xii, 2)." Ptolemy which is the only source supporting this statement is not a believable source because of his Greek origin. Source to support historical fact should be independent, while Ptolemy is not.

Vlore article is offensive to the citizens of vlore and Albania, and if changes are not made i will contact the media and high government officials and in response there will be a law suit against wikipedia at international court level.Based on international law in protecting Cultural Heritage, history and dignity on any stated country.

Please, no legal threats, it's a blockable offense. User:Municipalityofvlore should read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Controversial articles. Ptolemy is a reliable source for the opinions of Ptolemy. Ptolemy's claims themselves may be controversial, but we may have reliable sources to document that Ptolemy made such claims. If we have reliable sources to document claims by other people which contradict Ptolemy's claims, then we document all sides of the controversy. User:Municipalityofvlore should understand the key distinction between two types of claims, for example:
Lots of people would dispute the first claim, but we have reliable sources to back up the second claim. There really is (or was) a Flat Earth Society and it really did publish literature claiming that the Earth is flat. --Teratornis (talk) 15:23, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Creating an infobox

Hi, I would like to create an infobox for UK university rankings, similar to that already in place for US universities, however i'm a little unsure as to how to go about creating an infobox, and moreover am having difficulties locating the code of the aforementioned Infobox "US university ranking". Potentially libelous entry

Please read the section Scandal in the article on Woodstock High School, Woodstock, GA. In this poorly written article, the author accuses the former principal and school board of collusion to cover up an accident but provides no documentation of the charges. Current page bold

Hi, I'm working on the following code but I've run into a problem. The code is for this:

How can I make a link display in bold when it is on a certain page? For example, if this is on the page Wikipedia:Reference desk/Archives/Miscellaneous/2008 August 1, how can I make the word "Miscellaneous" appear in bold? That suggestion works for the parent pages, but I'm pretty sure it does not work for their subpages. Links to redirect pages do not appear in bold on the redirected-to pages, so your suggestion is correct to that extent (for example: WP:HD is a redirect to this page, and its link does not appear in bold, but Wikipedia:Help desk does). However, I don't know how to make a link to a parent page appear in bold on one of its subpages, and I don't think we would want it to, because that would violate the behavior of self-links everywhere else. Normally the way one determines whether a given page is a subpage of another page is to use a magic word. However, Help:Magic words#Page names and related info does not list any magic word that evaluates to the ultimate top-level parent page of a given subpage which is more than one subpage level down. There is a {{BASEPAGENAME}}, but it only evaluates to the immediate parent of a subpage; that immediate parent page could itself be a subpage of a higher-level page, and so on. Thus I don't know how to write an expression that would determine when the current page is a subpage more than one level down from a given page. Someone who is expert at template coding might know a way to do it, but even if a way exists, I would recommend against violating the normal formatting behavior of self links. --Teratornis (talk) 15:12, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

creating a new page...

This is quite hard! I created a page about Adam Jarvis as my user page, I think I'm meant to do that before submitting it? But now when it's been saved it appears as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Newfacesonline and not http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/adamjarvis? As your Adam Jarvis article doesn't appear to be completely ready for the main encyclopedia area (still needs wikilinks, section header for external links, etc.), I suggest just creating a subpage for any other articles you'd like to write. In your address bar, where it says http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Newfacesonline, just add /new_page_name_here to the end. What I would do is use my user page as a link board with links to all of your subpages. Also, when you feel that articles you have written are ready, you could post a link to them at WP:AfC to have a more experienced editor officially create the articles, or you could move them to where they belong. New page- backlisted hyperlink?

Hi,

I am trying to create a new page for the group Fuck the Facts. The old was one deleted a while back, and I have been working to create a new one. I am finished it now, and it has been sitting on my talk page. I was now attempting to put it at here (by just copying and pasting from my draft) but it says I have a backlisted hyperlink. I took a look at the link it gave me, but I didn't find much help. Does this mean that I have a link in my page somewhere that is, for some reason, not supposed to be there? Template format

For some reason, template navboxes will not work on Template:Hey Arnold. I've even tried copying and pasting already made navboxes into the page, and editing to the subject of the template, but I still am not able to figure out why it will not display. Please help. Leaving fields empty in an infobox template
