Missing parts of page

I have been editing my page in sandbox but when I either save or preview the changes a lot of the work that I have entered is not showing up? What is the problem and how do I fix it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Corma014 (talk • contribs) 00:08, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

The problem is unclosed <ref> tags. Every reference should be surrounded by opening and closing tags like this: <ref>[reference]</ref>. There are several instances to fix in the text you've saved. -- zzuuzz ^(talk) 00:16, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

Gale Group documents

Dear editors: This draft: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Patty Friedmann appears to have a lot of references, but they are not accessible. I'm finding this confusing, since some of the publications seem as though they should be available without going through Gale Group; for example, I was able to find the Publishers Weekly items on line. Referencing errors on Private Parts (book)

@QuentinUK: You replaced an opening named-ref tag (see WP:NAMEDREFS) with a plain <ref> tag, which left a reference further down in the article undefined. I think I've fixed it. Deor (talk) 07:21, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

Problem with grammar

In the page Our Lady of Miracles I am not sure if I need to use the article "the" (Our Lady of the Miracles, Madonna of the Miracles) or not (Our Lady of Miracles, Madonna of Miracles). Could you please help me? Thanks. --Daniele Pugliesi (talk) 07:46, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

I believe it is grammatically wrong to use an article such as "the" before a designation beginning with a personal pronoun, such as "our saviour" or "her majesty". Maproom (talk) 08:19, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

In English, either could be correct. But you are looking for a translation of the Italian "dei miracoli". I think that means "of miracles". Maproom (talk) 10:02, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

VERY BIASED, VERY INNACCURATE, FIX OR REMOVE UNTIL CORRECTED.

You have someone who intentionally reported an incredible amount of inaccurate information. If you do not correct this immediately, I will have you charged for information falsification and attempting to destroy a fruitful environment.

You could not even get the elevation properly. Your Native American population is incredibly insulting and intentional, so is your African American count. White people did not create the pictographs in the park and 1.1 % Native American's is FAR FROM A TRUE comment. Those are comments are biased in order to change local land ownershio and approve the theft of land problem in the area. The homesexual vs straight comments are very inaccurate and so are your common law statistics.

I expect this to be posted with your corrected statistics or removed until such is corrected.

I failed 16 students for using your information and will continue failing students who choose you as a source.

Legal threats are not a good way to go about asking for changes to be made on Wikipedia. You will also find your request is more likely to be answered if you provide a link to, or at least the title of, the page the you are complaining about. Yunshui ^雲_水 10:00, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello, anonymous teacher. I get that you are angry, but please calm down and stop shouting at us. Wikipedia is edited by thousands of people (like you and me) because they want to. There are sometimes biases in it because of who tends to get involved: if you have a different perspective from many of the editors, your ideas could be valuable to us, if you chose to help rather than come in with all guns blazing, and demand something that it is impossible for any of us to do (because you haven't told us just what you are talking about). How about you come back to us with specifics: which articles are you unhappy with, and what changes would you like to see made? It's quite likely that many editors will agree with you, especially if you provide published references for the material. Oh, and if you come here assuming good faith, rather than accusing thousands of people of posting illegal, inaccurate information. --ColinFine (talk) 10:20, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

We have thousands of articles with population statistics for American places. I see your IP address geolocates to Joshua Tree, California. Is that the article? It includes: "The 2010 United States Census reported that Joshua Tree had a population of 7,414 ... 84 (1.1%) Native American". Those are the numbers given in the reference. The United States Census is considered a reliable source by Wikipedia. You haven't given another source or even said which place the post is about. PrimeHunter (talk) 10:43, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

How to Move a Protected Page

My company has two pages that we need to merge. However, we do not know who in the company created these account years ago; therefore, we have no way of logging on to those accounts. Can you please list the two article names. Just as a point of clarification, your company does not own any articles here. Any editor can add to or change an article and you can perfectly well merge the contents of two articles provided that you have discussed it on the article talk page and reached an agreed consensus with others. By the time you have reached agreement, you will have made enough edits to be an auto-confirmed user. But the articles still won't be owned by your company. Assuming by "your company" you mean "Nityam Software Solutions Pvt Ltd" (which is who you're drafting an article about), then the reason is because the article hasn't been created yet, it's only a draft. Although the draft, Draft:Nityam Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, is an unambiguous violation of copyright infringement, see WP:COPYVIO, and therefore will be deleted unless edited. If you mean to create pages in other languages, you should check the other language wikipedia to see what the policy is on using Google or other non-human translations. the English Language wikipedia doesn't allow for pages *into* english being created in that way.Naraht (talk) 14:30, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

If you are talking about creating articles in the Nepali Wikipedia: I don't know the specific policies of the ne: Wikipedia, but in general, creating articles in one Wikipedia by translating them from another is encouraged, as long as the origin is attributed (though as Naraht has indicated, using Google translate is not a satisfactory way of doing so). Fixing multiple username and title of article problems

Hi Dear All, I am Mesganaw Andualem. I have recently created a Wikipedia article and have been editing it. Unfortunately, I have created two or more usernames and titles. Because of this my article, "Evolution of altruism in humans," is considered for being deleted. This is because it was a redirected link from one of my username to the other, and the edit confusion with another article title "The Evolution of Human Altruism" which I no more edit it. I would like the latter to be deleted and the former identified with the current username I use, Mesganaw Andualem. Please delete all of my usernames and associated links with it. I only want to develop more the article which is considered for deletion, that is, 'Evolution of altruism in humans." I want this not to be deleted because I have made a lot of effort on it. Please make this article linked with my username and help me be able to edit it in Sandbox and then posting on Wiki Encyclopedia. To precisely explain, I need my username Mesganaw Andualem and the article already developed "Evolution of altruism in humans." Cancel all the stuff which is beyond this two things. Evolution of human altruism is being considered for deletion, the other title now redirects to that one, and a copy has been made in another user's sandbox, so the content will remain available to be worked on some more. I can't tell what other username you have used, but if you just put a note on that user page that you are no longer using that account, it should not cause any trouble. You have evidently worked hard on this topic, and I hope that you can develop it so as to be accepted on Wikipedia: Noyster (talk), 13:04, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

I Can't find an article (draft) I worked on 3 years ago

I would like to retrieve a draft I worked on 1/29/2015. I've read that there is no deadline on Wikipedia, but this is the only article/draft I have on Wikipedia (so it should be easy to find!), yet it is missing in my profile(aidawedo). Am I missing something? Why can't I find this old draft. I would like to make revisions and post it for approval. @Aidawedo: When did you last edit it? 29 Jan 2015 or 3 years ago? If you edited it within the last 6 months, it shouldn't have been deleted. If it was over 6 months ago, then it will probably have been deleted as a stale draft. Don't worry, you just have to request undeletion- the place to request undeletion is Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:53, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

@Aidawedo: Your account has no edits to deleted pages. All edits by the account are shown at Special:Contributions/Aidawedo. If you were logged out when you saved it then you can try to search for it at [1], but if it was really three years ago and not 1/29/2015 then it may have been deleted. If you know the precise title or the IP address or account which made it then I can look for it. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:41, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

I'm guessing that your edits were made on 29 Jan 2012 (the day after you created your account), but they were not made under your user name. I've looked for a similar user name in case you created two accounts, but can't find a likely one. If you don't know what IP address you were using at that time, or what user name you might have used, or the title of the article, then you might want to try converting the PDF to text. Outdoor sculpture in New York City

Hello friendly editors. Several years ago I happened upon Fernando Botero's Trunk of a Woman in Manhattan. The name of the sculpture is from memory.

I found the sculpture on the web, bookmarked it and today oh no--dead link. Botero on the Avenue. (Fernando Botero) (Park Avenue, Manhattan, http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-14642468.html

The Wikipedia entry Outdoor sculpture in New York City states "Some of the best known outdoor sculptures in New York City are presented below."

The Wikipedia entry Fernando Botero states, "...his art can be found in highly visible places around the world, such as Park Avenue in New York City...", which is where I saw it, in the upper 50s? just before Central Park.

I'd like to see this Botero presented in the Outdoor sculpture in New York City entry. Maybe its presence would become better known? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I find nothing by that name at en-Wikipedia or at Wikimedia Commons. Considering that the World Wide Web seems to have never heard of it, either (Google), I'm not sure it qualifies as one "of the best known outdoor sculptures in New York City". However, you could submit a request at Wikipedia:Requested_pictures, and perhaps a Manhattanite Wikipedian will go take a photo and upload it; it could then be considered for inclusion in the list Botero article. It's not clear to me whether inclusion there in the list requires a work to be notable enough to merit its own Wikipedia article, however. Good luck. ―Mandruss ☎ 21:48, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

@Ann.landrey: I saw a temporary exhibition of Botero sculptures installed in the median of Park Avenue way back in 1993, one of which was named Torso (Woman). But a Google Street View trip down Park Avenue isn't showing me any Botero sculptures there now (or whenever the Google camera was rolling by).
