Wikipedia is one of the most accessed websites globally, and often the place where people turn to first to discover information about something new. GLAM institutes across the world, traditionally where many people would turn to for local information, can use Wikipedia as a positive force for signal boosting research about topics they specialise in.

Come see how at this GLAM-focused Wikipedia professional development event, hosted by the Auckland War Memorial Museum Wikimedian In Residence, covering such topics as:

  • Boosting visibility of GLAM content and information through Wikipedia.
  • Issues relating to uploading or using material on Wikipedia.
  • Practical tips: how to add references to Wikipedia pages, how to upload files to Wiki Commons, and how to add Wikidata

This event is part of Auckland Museum's Wikimedian in Residence project, funded by a Wikicite Grant.
