Please verify that you are getting notifications

edit

Hi, everyone,

I'm leaving this message on the course talk page, because I want to make sure that you are all watching this page, and that you are getting notifications from your watchlist. Soon, you will be assigned to groups, and start collaborating in earnest in the Wikipedia environment, so it's very important that this notification feature is working for you. Please verify that you got this message by going to Special:EmailUser/Klortho, and sending me a quick email note via that form, just to say, "got it".

Thanks! Klortho (talk) 01:33, 3 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Klortho,
The email notification does not seem to be working for me as I didn't receive any email though I checked my preferences and everything seems fine there. I don't know where I went wrong. Please help me figure it out.Shivani (talk) 17:24, 5 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Klortho- I seem to be having the same issue as my classmate. Myaworsk (talk) 00:59, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Mine's working fine. Have you checked your junk mails? I remember a couple of my notification emails ending up in my junk mail folder for our unit 2 assignment. Jpark623 (talk) 03:21, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I got it but I did not get the email notification. Please help me figure it out. Thanks. Dgambrah (talk) 01:51, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure if it'll help but here's what I did:
(1) Make sure you're logged in.
(2) Put the page that you'd like to receive email notifications on watchlist by highlighting the star at the top of the page.
(3) Go to "My Preferences" and check all four boxes under "Email Confirmation".Jpark623 (talk) 18:40, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks jpark623. This is helpful. Dgambrah (talk) 21:52, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Glad it was useful, dgambrah :) Jpark623 (talk) 19:20, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'm also receiving email notifications now after I clicked the * icon on my page. Thanks Jea.Shivani (talk) 18:25, 9 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Articles selected

edit

Great job, it looks like each group has selected an article to work on. Each of you, please make sure that the article is in your watchlist. I just added a template to the talk page of each of these articles, informing the greater Wikipedia community that these articles are the subjects of this project. If the page is on your watchlist already, you should have seen a notification about this update. If you didn't get the notification, then please go to the article, and click the star icon to begin watching it.

I just want to add, that I hope you have fun, as you venture outside of the cocoon of this project and each other's talk pages, and into the wider Wikipedia world! Klortho (talk) 16:33, 18 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Reviewers assigned

edit

Per Dr. Ogg's instructions, I assigned groups as reviewers of others' articles in a random fashion. The only rule I imposed was that I didn't allow reciprocal reviewing: if your group reviews group X, then group X can't review your group. Please make sure that the article you will be reviewing is also in your watch list. Thanks! Klortho (talk) 17:38, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
