Title of Wheelchair Handball World Championships

Hello @Alibene567, Kante4, Edin75, WorldSportsEdit, and LeFnake:

I created a year ago the page IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship. In September there was the first "Four-a-Side" 2022 Wheelchair Handball World Championship and next week the "Six-a-Side" 2022 World and European Wheelchair Handball Championship will start.

Me question is now do we want to split the main page to "four and six a side? And what should the titles be? Because the four has the official title "1st IHF Four-a-Side Wheelchair Handball World Championship 2022". The six a side has the same title at wikipedia as EHF and IHF call.

If I'm not wrong there should also be in the future separate events for men's and women's. So you see we will have like 5 difference version of wheelchair WCs.

I hope we can agree on a naming scheme now. So we have not to rename all competitions in the future.

What are your thoughts? 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 17:26, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello,
To be honest, I never have been concerned to wheelchair handball which seems to be very very confidential. In my opinion, since there is only a very few played tournaments, I think that the best for now is to have only one page. And in a few years, consider to split. IP vandalism

@Kante4 and LeFnake: The IP 2001:8F8:1471:37C1:DD75:F431:36AE:478F removed content from the Asian Club League Handball Championship and EHF European League. Other edits looks for also not really ok. Could you please look over it. LeFnake especially about PSG. Another IP 2001:8F8:1471:37C1:D152:297A:E418:725E has as well removed contend from Asian Club League Handball Championship. I warned both IPs at there TalkPage, but I think we have to look and if the behavior is still bad we have to report them. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 16:48, 23 February 2023 (UTC)

Same was removed at the IHF Men's Super Globe a couple of times. Kante4 (talk) 16:51, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
This IP have similar behavior to remove Cancelled edition cause of Covid. The start of the IP have a similar start and are from United Arab Emirates. If you have more IP's with similar behavior please add them to my list. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 16:58, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
ok, thank you for the warning, I've checked what he did and also reverted some. I also checked on wiki.fr but I already had reverted some (Zein and Mamdouh to PSG). LeFnake (talk) 09:03, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

Result page of South and Central America

Hello

This is about South and Central America because you two @Almagestas and Argemiro1975: are active there, I pinged you.

For South and Central America there exists the result page http://torneoscoscabal.com.

Now I saw that the content from the tournaments from 2022 was deleted.

For example the junior and youth competitions from last year.

The same with the match reports:

In conclusion: Please save all pages, documents (mach reports etc.) from this website at https://web.archive.org or else we will lose this information.

If you have question how to save a link please ask. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 07:45, 5 March 2023 (UTC)

Handball at the Goodwill Games

Hello,

I created Handball at the Goodwill Games but I just saved it from cleaning because of "not enough in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources to pass WP:GNG".

I did not managed to find sources in french but I don't know where to look at for sources in english. Maybe @Kante4 or @Malo95? Thanks LeFnake (talk) 17:10, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

Sorry @LeFnake: for the late answer. Here are the main sources for me of some of the countries witch participated at the Goodwill Games.
At the moment I'm writing at my Bachelor thesis and I also will have some holidays. Therefore I'm not able to help you a lot with the good will games in the next couple of weeks. I hope this sources will help you and in June I'll have probably more time to help. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 10:01, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for all of this and good look for your thesis, it's the most important for sure ! LeFnake (talk) 13:38, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

Seha League

The season article's name problem

Hi co-editors,

I am an old editor, I registered about 13 years ago and I have 20000+ editing, but mostly in Hungarian Wikipedia. I created now the first articles in English language, my loved club's missing articles: 2022–23 DVSC Schaeffler season and 2023–24 DVSC Schaeffler season.

The club's real name is DVSC Schaeffler, but the club's main article is Debreceni VSC (women's handball). The old season's article name is: 2019–20 Debreceni VSC (women's handball) season.

What is the custom? Which is the better solution?

So:

  • 2023–24 DVSC Schaeffler season, or
  • 2023–24 Debreceni VSC (women's handball) season

I hope my question was understandable, what I am asking.

Regards, Cakesam (talk) 17:13, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Hey @Cakesam: Sorry for the lat answer and thank you for your contributions.
Is it my assumption correct that Schaeffler is the name of the sponsor? The Schaeffler Group.
If yes. In Wikipedia in general (German and English versions) the sponsor is normally not wanted in the title of a club or league. Like Vive Kielce as the article name and Barlinek Industria Kielce as official name.
In my eyes 2023–24 Debreceni VSC (women's handball) season is the preferred version. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 12:49, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
Hey @Malo95: No problem, thank you for your reply and your professional opinion. Then the articles created by me must be renamed. But who can rename these? Like me too? Regards, Cakesam (talk) 19:06, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Discussion at Wikipedia:Content assessment

You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Content assessment#Proposal: Reclassification of Current & Future-Classes as time parameter, which is within the scope of this WikiProject. This WikiProject received this message because it currently uses "Current" and/or "Future" class(es). There is a proposal to split these two article "classes" into a new parameter "time", in order to standardise article-rating across Wikipedia (per RfC), while also allowing simultaneous usage of quality criteria and time for interest projects. Thanks! CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 20:59, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Resources

Hey

I created a page with Resources about handball. (Books, newspapers)

Some books and newspapers I have scans.

Please add resources if they will help. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 15:22, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Another RfC on capitalization of all our articles

I thought this was a done deal back in this 2022 RFC but obviously not. A handful of editors did another rfc with no sports projects input at all. And it's being challenged because we just noticed it. This could affect almost every single tennis and Olympic article we have, and goodness know how many other sports. Some may have already been moved it you weren't watching the article. And not just the article titles will be affected but all the player bios that link to the articles. Sure the links would be piped to the right place if thousands of articles moved, but if the wording in a bio still said 2023 Wimbledon Championships – Men's singles or Swimming at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's 200 metre backstroke that would likely need to be changed by hand. There is also talk of removing the ndash completely.

Perhaps this is what sports projects want and perhaps not. Either way I certainly don't want projects ill-informed as the last RfC was handled. Express your thoughts at the following rfc. Fyunck(click) (talk) 20:53, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
