There are no descriptions of interest to average citizens,

e.g. who pays pensions in the Ukrainian lands occupied by Russia? Kiev or Moscow through their banks and in what currency? What about pensioners who do not accept the Russian occupation in occupied Ukraine and do not want to accept Russian citizenship? What is the medical care like in the occupied areas? What is the interest rate on housing loans and how do Ukrainians repay them in the occupied and unoccupied lands; what about loans if houses have been demolished, residents killed or injured or have gone abroad? Good afternoon, I would like to request a review of the section structure in the article on Ukraine. In the forth paragraph of the introduction, it is mentioned corruption remains significant problem. While corruption is an important issue, I have noticed an inconsistency in how it is presented in other countries Wiki pages. For example, according to Corruption Perceptions Index (2023) Turkey has a lower score than Ukraine. However, the introduction of the English Wiki article on Turkey does not mention it in introduction, which most people read. This raises concers about neutraility and uniformity in what way information about Ukraine is given, and how it shapes readers mind, especially in the context of Russias war against Ukraine, and hybrid attacks, espcially intended on engslish speaking countries and audience, which help Ukraine. To ensure consistency and fairness, I propose either, moving the mention of corruption in the Ukraine article to a more appropriate section such as Politics or Economy, where it can be discussed in detail alongside other issues. Alternatively, if corruption is to be included in the introductiory paragraphs according to you, then for neutrality a similar mention should be add to all country articles where for example CPI score is equal or lower than Ukraine's, for exaple Turkey, Serbia, Brazil, Bosnia and others. This would help maintain neutrality and ensure fair corruption related remarks accross different pages or stop giving the negative conotation especially for so called "West" audience which helps Ukraine the most and others. Territory problem

Second Hetmanate

On sources, please see the relevant entries in the Encyclopedia of Ukraine (these needn't be cited) regarding Ukrainian National Republic (an alternative translation) and Ukrainian State. Second Hetmanate is an alternative name per this source but is clearer to readers and fits well in the context. This is a fundamental part of Ukrainian history and it shouldn't be glossed over. Request to add information to the Language section

Hello! I think that the Language section needs to be expanded to include both more of the past and the present. For the past, I think the following file will be relevant, as it includes important census data:

During the post-WW2 period, the Russification of ethnic Ukrainians, as well as the mass immigration of ethnic Russians, significantly changed the ethnic and linguistic composition of Ukraine's population. The change was especially evident in Donbas, where Ukrainian speakers became a minority.

And for the present, the following is relevant:

Since 2014, during the Russian-Ukrainian war, Russia has been pursuing a policy of forced Russification of the territories of Ukraine it has occupied — schools teach only in Russian, even in entirely Ukrainian-speaking settlements. Ukrainian school textbooks have been banned, and those who wish to study in Ukrainian are forced to do so in secret from the occupation authorities. Ukrainian-language literature is also being destroyed on a massive scale. According to the report "Ukraine: Forced Russified Education Under Occupation" by Human Rights Watch, the Russian occupation authorities and other high-ranking Russian officials have taken and continue to take measures to eradicate the Ukrainian language in the occupied territories. Ukrainian children forcibly deported to Russia are also subjected to Russification.

What territory constitutes infobox Ukraine?

Apologies I've been away from Ukraine-related content for quite a while. I would like to understand under what rationale the map of Ukraine shows Russian-occupied territory, which is a dynamic entity. That belongs in an article on the occupations/war dating back to Crimea, not on a diagram of "this represents sovereign Ukraine." That is inappropriate application of geopolitics to geography and international boundaries.

Since it's bound to come up, I would note that the case of Israel and territory it occupies—in terms of making an infobox map distinction—does not apply since not all of Israel is defined by "internationally recognized borders". (That description should be amended in the infobox.) Borders can only be established by treaty, thus the only "borders" Israel has are with Egypt and Jordan. Hi VєсrumЬа. I have a hard time understanding what you mean, because the map does show Ukraine’s internationally recognised borders. The country outline and boundaries are unchanged and represent sovereign Ukraine; the colours show an overlay indicating current military occupation, not a redefinition of borders, and therefore does not mix geopolitics with geography. I am simply stating that whether a fluid or static situation, showing territorial control in a war is not appropriate to the map shading of a sovereign country in its infobox. The territories shaded in light green are Russian occupied territories that have been annexed in late 2022 and proclaimed as federal subjects by Russian authorities and therefore as part of the Russian Federation (de facto), that's illegal, but maybe that's what the whole thing is supposed to signal; with the separate coloring. What do you suggest, painting the whole area dark green while there's currently a "peace talk" ongoing about land swap or territorial control over the area and what not? Change "Russian occupied territories" to "Territory claimed but not controlled"

It is more neutral, as in the Japan article, it says "Territory claimed but not controlled", not Russian occupied territories. South Sudan is at war with Sudan, yet it shows them "not controlling" the territories. ~2025-41695-24 (talk) 20:27, 20 December 2025 (UTC)

Sudan and South Sudan are not directly engaged in a war. They both have their own problems, they would both be devastated if they started fighting each other (though they have in the past). Also, calling the territories "claimed but not controlled" subtly discredits Ukraine's argument. The vast majority of the international community supports Ukraine's territorial integrity.
