Hey Finn. Just to let you know that we only count reviews started on 1 June. So, the Neptunium(IV) oxalate review will not count. I've removed it from the drive page. Cheers, Vacant0 (talk contribs) 19:28, 27 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello!

[edit]

I spotted your contributions to Wikipedia:The UK and Ireland 20,000 Challenge and wanted to say hi! I'm also on a bit of a mission to improve the coverage of Dublin's northside. Recently I created some street articles trying to rebalance the bias towards coverage of southside streets. I'm interested in working on getting articles to good as well, inspired in part by looking at the old Irish Monopoly board and the work of User:Ritchie333, which might pique your interest too. Anyway - keep up the great work! Smirkybec (talk) 21:05, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello! This is a nice surprise, I honestly didnt think there was anyone else who was interested in editing northside articles lol, so its nice to meet you!
If you like improving articles on streets, would you be interested in collaborating on an article about the Ballymun Road? Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 22:35, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Definitely, count me in - I'm happy to create a start article this week, and we can both try to expand as best we can? I added a section on Collins Avenue to the main R103 road (Ireland) which could include the previously named Ballymun Avenue as well. Smirkybec (talk) 20:16, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Making a start article and then expanding from there sounds like a good idea Draft:Ballymun Road
I have gathered information on it before for a rewrite im doing for the Ballymun Flats at User:Finnfrog99/sandbox3, and think that it is notable enough for its own article
I've also been saving Ballymun related newspaper clippings at User:Finnfrog99/sandbox5, so some of those might be of use Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 20:40, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Turns out I was back sooner than expected lol. Have you had a chance to start on a draft yet? Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 10:00, 1 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Smirkybec: Hi! Dont mean to rush you or anything, but are you still interested in doing this? Fine if you arent ofc Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 16:34, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hey! Sorry the past month has been a bit more hectic than usual. Definitely still interested, and might have some capacity this week to get a start article together :) Smirkybec (talk) 20:55, 16 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Welcome back! Glad to hear you're still interested :]
I realized that I never asked you if you plan on publishing the start article or incubating in a draft. I dont mind either option, but thought I should clarify Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 21:14, 16 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't mind either way - I'll take a look at your sandboxes you linked to earlier and see how far I get :) I do tend to publish rather than sitting on a draft for too long (as I tend to forget about the drafts and get distracted with new Wiki rabbit holes instead!) July 2026

[edit]

Hi Finnfrog99, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Sohom (talk) 22:52, 18 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello Finnfrog99:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 5000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Re: MissingNo.

[edit]

There was a previous discussion here regarding using the 'free' image or not, with the general consensus being that the screenshot provides the most context. There's little reason to include the stand-alone sprite as is, and it's questionable if it's really a simple enough shape to not be 'copyrighted' given how hawkish Nintendo is about their media. Kung Fu Man (talk) 21:35, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thats not why its free, nintendo didnt design or create it, it was created as a result of a computer bug and thats why its public domain Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 21:37, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's still using graphics from the game itself to create, well, itself though. The images of MissingNo. like that are in turn based off its 'design' in-game.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 22:43, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

DYK for St Patrick's Bridge

[edit]

On 2 August 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article St Patrick's Bridge, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that an Irish legend says that St Patrick's Bridge (pictured) was created when Saint Patrick chased the Devil into the Celtic Sea? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/St Patrick's Bridge. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (St Patrick's Bridge), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Thx (and pings)

[edit]

Thanks for the recent EotW nom. Completely unnecessary. But thanks anyway!

FYI, but this didn't work as you likely intended. I just happened to see it in history/watchlist. I received no "ping". As Jnestorius has to explain to me not too long ago, to "ping" someone in an EDSUMM, we need to use the format given in "mentions in edit summaries" help doc for notifications. Those "Mention templates don't work in edit summaries" apparently...

Good article nominations RfC

[edit]

Hi Finnfrog99,

There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.

By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.

Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:02, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for informing me about this! I'll have a look and share my thoughts Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 16:13, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for undoing the tag

[edit]

Hey, thanks for undoing that tag. Tagged the wrong article. The blocked user has tagged some drafts that weren't their own and I'm removing the wrong tags that I applied. gurkubondinn 16:19, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 16:19, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I suppose I should go back and finish and publish that article lol, so some good came out of this Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 16:20, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah sorry about that. Looks like the user went around and tagged a bunch of other user's drafts for no good reason. They had been submitting their own ai-generated drafts to AfC and I incorrectly assumed these edits were on their own drafts. Guess I got played for a second, been going and undoing my tags and removing these incorrectly applied tags as well. Glad I poked you to your draft though, I've got some I should work on myself instead of doing this dreary work. :) gurkubondinn 16:25, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Tobago stubs

[edit]

Hi Finnfrog99! I ran into these stubs that it looks like you made in March, and I'm wondering if you had a project in mind, or if they should be redirected to Tobago until somebody wants to build them out a bit with reliable sources:

Dreamyshade (talk) 22:48, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, yeah I made those. The've been mentioned to me a few times, and I honestly dont know what i was thinking. I havent figured out anything to do with them, so I've just been ignoring them
Feel free to redirect! Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 22:50, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
All good! The easiest approach is probably for you to tag them for speedy deletion, as the author (WP:G7), since it looks like the only incoming links are from disambiguation pages. Dreamyshade (talk) 22:53, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
could I just replace all the text with "#REDIRECT Tobago"? Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 22:55, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, you can do that. See WP:BLAR for a few tips for doing a "blank and redirect". Dreamyshade (talk) 22:57, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Coultry

[edit]

Hello, Finnfrog99. This message concerns the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "Coultry".

Drafts that go unedited for six months are eligible for deletion, in accordance with our draftspace policy, and this one has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission, and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you read this, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the draft so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your contributions to KuwaitSat-1. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it consists of machine-generated text. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

AfC August Backlog Drive: Only ten days left!

[edit]
Our pending drafts!

Hi Finnfrog99, thanks for participating in the Articles for Creation August Backlog Drive! We've done amazing work so far, dropping the backlog by more than 3000 drafts already. We have around 1300 drafts outstanding, and we need your help to get that down to zero in the next 10 days. We can do this, but we need all hands on deck to help make it happen – if everyone who signed up to the drive reviewed just 1–2 drafts a day for the next ten days, we'd be down to zero in no time! A list of the pending drafts can be found at WP:AFCSORT, where you can select submissions in your area of interest, or you can find a random submission here. Thank you so much for your work so far, and happy reviewing! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:20, 21 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rebecca Burgess

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rebecca Burgess requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is:

  • a disambiguation page with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" which lists only one extant Wikipedia page (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • a disambiguation page that lists zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" whose target is neither a disambiguation page nor page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. (Oinkers42) (talk) 02:21, 22 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
