Mark Suzman moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Mark Suzman, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ─ The Aafī (talk) 18:09, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Abhay Kant Pathak

Hello, AltruisticHomoSapien, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Hatchens, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Abhay Kant Pathak, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abhay Kant Pathak.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

COI check

edit

Hello. Do you have any links with the people whose biographies you edit? Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle (talk) 20:37, 4 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would say "no." Do you have any specifics? Since I create or edit pages related to people who might be recently dead or alive, they are somehow or the other in the 'news' and which is how I get to know about them. When I create a page, I am generally more interested in the page staying live rather than the page getting deleted as has happened with some of the pages that I have created.

I also read a lot of news. I am familiar with international news as also local news. These news items travel in different orbits. Some editors only appear to be interested in NYT or WSJ or BBC or CNN hits. Which is not realistic when some news is essentially 'local' in nature. If it's local and still big, it deserves to be in Wikipedia. And meets Wikipedia's standards regarding news such as 'in depth,' persistence,' and so forth.AltruisticHomoSapien (talk) 03:27, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Irma Dryden

The article Irma Dryden has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:BASIC. She wasn't a Tuskegee Airman, she didn't attend the Tuskegee Institute and never flew, just being married to an Airman doesn't make her notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If you are connected to someone or something you have written about (a few examples are writing about yourself, your business, your band, a member of your family, your client) then you should be aware that Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages you from writing about that subject. The main reason for that is that experience over the years indicates that editors with such a connection to a subject they are writing about are likely to find it very difficult, or even impossible, to stand back from their writing and see how it will look from the detached perspective of an outsider, so that they are likely to write in ways that look promotional to others, even if they sincerely think they are writing in a neutral way. Also, if your editing forms all or part of work for which you are paid, whether as an employee, as a contractor, or in any other capacity, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to state who is paying you, and what your connection to them is. (To avoid the possibility of a surprisingly common misunderstanding, editing is part of paid work if it is done as part of normal employment or as part of a work to a contract, whether or not a specific payment earmarked for editing Wikipedia is made.) While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. bonadea contributions talk 18:43, 26 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
