Hi, I am not an admin, but I closed your recent MfD because it was the wrong venue. Articles go through WP:AFD and redirects go through WP:RFD. Please take time to read our deletion policy more closely. Thanks. Aasim 13:10, 3 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Pronouns

edit

Since I've been seeing you at the reference desks, I have to ask: In your signature, shouldn't it be "they, them pronouns" rather than "they, then pronouns"? Deor (talk) 14:05, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

How did I not notice that! Thank you! Amousey (they/then pronouns) (talk) 20:20, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Martha Mitchell effect munge

edit

Not sure what you did, but could you fix the messed up style at Martha Mitchell effect resulting from this edit? Search on page for 'innocent colleague' to find the spot. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 06:59, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for notifying me and sorry for the error. I used the wrong template to mark up a questionable source. Have now fixed it. Amousey (they/them pronouns) (talk) 18:18, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Notice

edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

This covers the article on multiple chemical sensitivity, it also covers the topic of "chronic Lyme disease" and any other fake disease, plus "recovered memory". Guy (help!) 08:02, 24 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Guy I don't follow what this means or which pages are included - is this only for pages that are in the Fringe or Pseudoscience categories? Or might this involve any mention an administrator deems to be "fringe" on any page? I have an interest in Alternative Views rather than the bizarre evidence-less ridiculous topics in Fringe.
I do not understand what this "recovered memory" thing refers to because it's vague. One of the mainstream PTSD criteria is inability to recall parts of a trauma - which is well known in combat - would that be under "recovered memory"? Could any recognized diagnosis with either amnesia or memory issues be interpreted as "recovered memory"? Like TBI.
What are these sanctions and conditions?
I notice that you previously misinterpreted several comments I have made including you removing a comment about "pushing my view" on CFS when I posted about a different topic entirely, and replying in a way on the MCS page that seemed to suggest that you thought I disagreed with the content of the page. Not so! I was simply pointing out it was better not to use certain terms to respond to those with entirely different views. No need for that when the science is clear and that's all we are following. I was looking at WPMED-related pages, and I don't think that LDAM should be handled as a separate subject. Would you consider adding that information to Lyme disease#Society and culture and redirecting the title there? (This page isn't on my watchlist, so ping me if you need me.) WhatamIdoing (talk) 15:33, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your suggestion User:WhatamIdoing. There shouldn't be an issue with notability since I resubmitted it since the CDC has been running a Lyme Disease Awareness Month campaign for a number of years now, focusing on prevention and early diagnosis but mostly prevention - it seems prevalence is increasing and affecting more areas. It does appear to have had significant notable sources deleted since I submitted it. It's also on the List of month long observances, most of which have their own pages eg Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the health ones in the WP:MED project - although perhaps that is for those with prevention / health initiatives only. There's also already categories for the pages for many other May observances, US observances, environmental ones, etc. I haven't edited the Lyme Disease page since I don't know the topic. - Amousey (they/them pronouns) (talk) 02:27, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
It'd be normal for an ongoing notable social event to be mentioned in the article, and the fact that it's not might encourage reviewers to believe that it must not be notable.
I've never been convinced that Breast Cancer Awareness Month should have its own article. I just stripped some information out of it about events that didn't happen during that month. That section was almost all outdated primary sources (think: Komen has a fundraiser, sourced to Komen's fundraising website). It should probably be merged to Breast cancer awareness instead of being kept as a separate article. WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:20, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm ජපස. Your recent edit(s) to the page Clinical trials on Ayurvedic drugs appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been removed for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Inserting fringe claims like this can be grounds for sanction. You have been warned. jps (talk) 14:36, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

talk - I have noted your false accusation of POV pushing and false accusation of adding incorrect information - and your removal of the message above from my talked page is something I decided to revert. I have commented on the article's talk page. I suggest you consider whether your baseless bad faith accusation - which you repeated on the talk page - is conducive to the editing environment on WP and why you repeated it after realizing that my edit was entirely accurate. Amousey (they/them pronouns) (talk) 22:44, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have become convinced that my first instinct here was correct. I just undid a number of edits you made on Satanic ritual abuse that represent a naked WP:POVPUSH. I suggest you take a break from editing WP:FRINGE articles. If you do not, we can report your actions to WP:AE and ask for sanction. jps (talk) 20:21, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
In sociology a moral panic is not the same as a hoax, and two reverts of a categorization set by another is not a "POV push" since it's returning the page to its previous consensus. When edits are well supported then attempts to report usually lead to a WP:BOOMERANG. Amousey (they/them pronouns) (talk) 00:22, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Amousey. I see that in this edit, you said you were removing a reference to a study, but instead, you reverted me changing a link to Magnesium to Magnesium (medical use). I'm indifferent about whether this study stays or goes, but please check the page to make sure you edit was what you intended. The Quirky Kitty (talk) 02:58, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Neurasthenia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stress. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
