Lecaplan Type B Pre-cast concrete homes

Angus, I am insulted that you think I swiped the article I wrote from some other work. The words are all my own, and an expansion on a simple and single entry in the BRE reference I cited (correctly) which, for copyright reasons, I obviously cannot send to you as evidence.

Nonetheless, I take the STANDARD advice that the article needs to be neutral and not written as my professional opinion on these house types.

The edited version will be resubmitted for review.

Adrian J Singleton, please read WP:NOR. Wikipedia isn't to publish your own findings and summaries of the material. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:09, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

re-review octoprint

Hi AngusWOOF, can you re-review Draft:OctoPrint? There are an excessive number of refs now, some are a little shameful for a mini-article but there's a lot of fodder for improvement, and it should be sufficient to meet GNG. tedder (talk) 03:35, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

  • tedder, excessive citations should be trimmed down or grouped if they support the same statement. There shouldn't be so many that it clutters the article. WP:Citation overkill. Articles from non-notable blogs about 3d printing should probably not be cited unless they present some new information. Please identify the sources that you think will meet WP:GNG, that is, they are secondary reliable sources independent of the subject. You need at least 2 to satisfy the "multiple sources" If all the article does is mention "I run Raspberry Pi with OctoPrint", then that is a passing mention, and should not be included. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:27, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
Yep, I know what you mean. To me, the only place with "ref overkill" is on the security flaws, and those are directionally different- the coverage from Internet Storm Center is much closer to being a primary source, while Gizmodo and The Register are certainly covering it from 'secondary'. But I tend to over-reference when writing articles, see South Park Blocks as an example. For sources that are best for GNG, those just mentioned, plus the multiple references on Hackaday, ZDNet, Electronics Weekly, Linux Journal should be sufficient. After the article goes out of draft space I'll move the "further reading" entries to the talk page as "future sources". tedder (talk) 19:05, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
tedder, can you clear out the other ones to the talk page in the meantime, and then in the comments for the submission, cite what you told me like, "These are the references that should enable it to pass GNG: (list of references)" AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:16, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Disappointed

Hi AngusWOOF, with thanks for looking over my article “Draft:Alliance School Kermanshah”. I have to say yes I am disappointed to see it remain in draft. I think it has got enough sources where, just like this one, I also translated” Alliance School in Tehran” from Wikipedia Farsi. The theme of my articles is history and not schools. These were the first Jewish schools in Iran which belong to more than 100 years ago and probably don’t exist now. And K8 or . . . does not fit in Iran’s school system of those days. This is, of course, the second time I am disappointed. Last time an editor did not give me a chance to click the publish and that is how it got into draft. At that time, I discussed that in Teahouse. I have put in it as much sources I could find and I appreciate if you could help me with this. By the way I’m happy you picked up my article as I may have more subjects to discus in Teahouse .Regards, Alex-h (talk) 21:32, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

Alex-h, if you can dig up some news articles about the school to show its notability, that would be helpful. Try to find ones that aren't from the school's website. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:14, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Ernest Walker Simons article declined again

Please point me in the correct direction. I corrected the redacted portions pointed out to me earlier today by another editor. This site is a bit cryptic to me. Everything that was supposedly in copyright violation earlier today has now be put back in my own words, in a non-similar fashion, with citations to the works I had quoted previously. Is there more that I need to do? This is a simple little history, and all of the sources are at least 100 years old. Thanks, -Jon Jgcolcord (talk) 20:46, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

Jon, there's some work that the admins need to do to the article to clear out the copyright violations, so that would have to be done on some of the older revisions. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:13, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF Thank you. Does this mean I should wait it out and wait for admins to do their work, or is there additional tweaking that I need to take care of?

192.190.16.1, maybe you can identify up front which references would meet WP:GNG, then we can see whether the person would be notable? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:52, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Subten

Good Afternoon Angus I Hope you're well. I was just after some advice regarding my rejected Article for 'Subten.' I am fully confident that all the information is correct as I know him personally and I am also his manager. What could I do better to get this article verified. There are no pages online displaying his DOB etc. There is another artist who got his Wiki approved recently called 'Yizzy', and the pages were quite similar hence my confusion.

Any advice would be welcome. Thank you very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sikh Milly (talkcontribs) 15:53, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Sikh Milly, you need to provide references that meet WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. That is, they need to be news sources independent of the subject. Please also read WP:COI. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:27, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Dundo Maroje - draft review

Hello AngusWOOF, could you please review the draft: Draft:Dundo Maroje? Thanks in advance. 141.138.39.213 (talk) 22:08, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

141.138.39.213, I've approved the draft. It's now in mainspace. There are still some things to clean up but the sources look pretty good for now to establish notability. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:33, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
141.138.39.213, can you review the news articles again to see which ones were written in Croatian or Serbian or whether that's the same thing. If it's incorrect, please fix. Also the essay in Slavic Review needs further detail on what Ante actually wrote about the subject so I threw in a placeholder. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:38, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

Help in Making the Article Acceptable

Hello, I was hoping you could help comment more in depth on the article that I have written and you've recently reviewed. Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Aglaia_Kong I have rewrote it to be factual based on the website cover and articles that I have read about the subject. I was wondering if you could specify where or what references are not suitable to be approved and any other comments to help be approved. Thank you so much! Vivian0314 the ones that are company profiles or convention speaker / panel profiles would be considered primary or self-published sources, so you would need something else instead of those. Also Q&A interviews are primary. If you can find detailed news articles or journals that cover Kong's career, please use those. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:46, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF Hello, I've resubmitted the draft with references changed to new articles instead of convention profiles and was hoping you could take a look or offer some additional advice. Thank you! Vivian0314 (talk) 17:07, 15 February 2019 (UTC) Vivian 2.15.2019
Vivian0314, can you identify up front on that article, which of these news articles meet WP:GNG? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:49, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF Hello, I've just identified the sources that meet WP:GNG on the top of the article! Thank you so much for helping and reviewing. Please let me know if this suffices. Vivian0314 (talk) 14:11, 19 February 2019 (UTC) Vivian 2.19.2019
AngusWOOF Hi, just wanted to check in again and see if the article can be reviewed and approved. I posted the following on the top of the drafted page:

" Articles that meet WP:GNG: (1) https://mpea-plus.org/theme-project-20180704/ , (2) https://asiasociety.org/global-talent-initiatives/diversity-leadership-aglaia-kong-%E2%80%93-cto-cisco-china, (3) http://network.cnw.com.cn/network-carrier-ethernet/htm2013/20130826_281359.shtml , (4) http://macaodaily.com/html/2018-05/19/content_1266775.htm " Thank you so much! About the declining of Draft:Atari Flashback Classics

The comment regarding why the page was declined has to do with not having enough WP:VG/RS 'reviews' on the package. I am not sure how to interpret this comment, whether it be reviews (as in reception and rating scores) or just information in general. Could you clear this up for me? That would be most helpful. Thanks!

User:CreeperDudeBro (talk) 17:07, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

CreeperDudeBro, you need reliable sources that discuss the compilation series in reviews or previews. Those sources should be news articles coming from websites that are considered reliable as per the WP:VG/RS. Metacritic summary isn't enough. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:06, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

I Need Explanation

    • NOTE: READ CAREFULLY, PLEASE. Please do not misread.**

I was wondering about and questioning the fact that the article "Vietnamese name" says that a "middle" (and hence, MIDDLE) name does not exist [at all] in Japan. What about the fictional character Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma in the Kuromukuro series??? Yes, his Japanese name is Ouma Kennosuke Tokisada, not Ouma Tokisada Kennosuke. But couldn't back then in Japan at that period Japanese people just had "pseudo" "middle" name? Like a "pseudo middle" kind of name? Just a different direction. Even though his English name is Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma, could the latter name just be a mistranslated name?

It confuses me. Please unconfuse me. Please? It just makes poor logic and I know, even though I am a Westerner myself, some Westerners just mistranslate a lot of Asian names and words, especially the East Asian languages, even deeper into the "Eastern" World; less understandable than South Asian countries, perhaps. Japan, Vietnam, China, and North and South Korea are in East Asia, not South Asia, North Asia *OR WEST Asian!*. I don't want to be barbaric, but people need to tab into things deeper before they assume what a correct translation is? Frankly, I believe, myself, personally, that if Japanese people who create the characters can speak, understand, and read English, they themselves should show the correct name translation that is in the English language or any other languages.

Thank you for your time! :)

--Yours, Wake The Dead 09 (talk) 21:59, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Wake The Dead 09, I would follow WP:JATITLE if it's a Japanese name for a real person. But as you're asking about a manga/anime character, I would apply MOS:ANIME which says use the common name of the character as listed in the English manga (or anime). If the character is historical, they usually have an Eastern order (familyname givenname) but modern characters usually follow Western style for English name while retaining an Eastern order Japanese name. Rina Satō (佐藤 利奈 Satō Rina). Some Japanese artists even insist on retaining Eastern order for their English name as with Koda Kumi, but most fall under the Western convention. As Kuromukuro is a Netflix anime with an English website, I would use that: http://kuromukuro.com/en/chara.html which shows Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma. Is it different in the actual Netflix presentation? If so, then use the Netflix presented name. The Nihongo romanization is in the order of the Japanese characters: 青馬剣之介時貞 青馬 romanizes to Ouma or Aouma; 剣之介 romanizes to Kennosuke; 時貞 romanizes to Tokisada.
As for middle names, that depends on the person as well. Most traditional Japanese names don't have middle names or maiden names, they either take one or the other parent's as their family name. But when it comes to anime characters, it can vary. Some use a Western name convention with the dots like Evangeline Athanasia Katherine (Kitty) McDowell (エヴァンジェリン・アタナシア・キティ・マクダウェル Evanjerin Atanashia Kiti Makudaweru) or Negi Springfield ネギ・スプリングフィールド AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:28, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Thank you. By the way, "family name" and "given name" are each two words: there is no compound word called "familyname"; it is only "family name"; same with "givenname" being wrong/incorrect. Also, by the way again, the "dot" is called an "interpunct". :)

Cyphoidbomb, thanks. I'll nuke her other request. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:03, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Wake The Dead 09, you again missed the point of the example. It is to show the order of the names and their spacing not to say that the phrase "familyname" is proper. Also, sometimes the Japanese names are written with a space between family name and given name – Rina Satō (佐藤 利奈 Satō Rina) – and sometimes they are not – Rina Satō (佐藤利奈 Satō Rina). Chinese names, Korean names, and Vietnamese names all follow different conventions, as well as Asian names in the United States, so don't cross them up. If you're trying to convert kanji to romaji and how to romanize diacritics then that's a different subject. Anyways, please don't bother Wikipedia editors with your own linguistic interpretations. You lost that chance for appropriate and meaningful discussion years ago with your sock evasion. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:15, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

Request on 19:19:15, 26 February 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by CLStarlet

Hello,

I have added some updates to the Racelle Kooy page listing several articles independent of the subject in references. I am just wondering if these changes are acceptable? Thanks!

Thank you for the response, I have just added two new sources. Could you take a look? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CLStarlet (talkcontribs) 01:19, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

CLStarlet (talk) 19:19, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

CLStarlet, are there more secondary sourced new articles about Kooy herself? A lot of the ones posted are either passing mentions (shows her speaking a line or two about the situation as part of the organization) or primary sources (her political intentions, in-depth interviews). Reviewing Draft:Divya Dhayal

Hi Angus! Thank you for reviewing Draft:Divya Dhayal. I've made substantial improvements to the draft. If you have the opportunity to revisit it, I'd be thankful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sangsa (talkcontribs) 12:13, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Sangsa, see my comments on that draft. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:56, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi Angus! These are replies to the questions you have asked:

Question 1. "I don't see Divya's name on the winners / medalists for the 2017 World Cup or 2018 World Cup articles"?

Answer: Archery World Cup is held in 4 stages (4 times a year at different locations). It's pretty confusing, please bear with me:

For World Cup 2017 Wikipedia link to "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Archery_World_Cup#cite_note-27" Here Under "Mixed Team" Round "2", India won the Bronze medal due to "Divya Dhayal and Abhishek Verma" as per official link: "https://worldarchery.org/competition/15915/antalya-2017-hyundai-archery-world-cup-stage-2#/team/IND/CX/team"

For World Cup 2018 Specific Wikipedia link is not yet available for 2018 World Cup and the general World Cup link below is not updated: "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archery_World_Cup" The official link shows her winning Silver in Compound Women Team catagory as under: "https://worldarchery.org/competition/18116/antalya-2018-hyundai-archery-world-cup#/team/IND/CW/team"

Question 2. Please specify which news articles cover her career in detail that aren't interviews.

Answer: The span of her career is just about 3 years as yet and she has made quite a mark being an Archery player (Archery being an uncelebrated sport in India)

These are the three best articles I could find:

https://www.hindustantimes.com/pune-news/pune-s-30-under-30-part-1-young-achievers-aiming-for-the-stars/story-lwXL2wA5P3yrpmGiZSaz5J.html (this newspaper is read by ~1 million people https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindustan_Times)

https://thebridge.in/looking-back-2017-divya-dhayal-raised-bar-archery-asia-cup/

http://www.espn.in/espn/story/_/id/19597329/india-win-bronze-compound-mixed-team-event-world-cup

Thanks for your time! Sangsa (talk) 09:48, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Sangsa, the ESPN one is a passing mention and wouldn't be notable for athletes. The 30 under 30 is borderline as it is only a brief paragraph. The Bridge one is better as that focuses on Divya Dhayal specifically. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:34, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

You're right AngusWOOF. All other articles that I found were Interviews. Non Interview mentions for a Compound Archery Player in India is pretty rare! She became the no. 1 Compound Archery player (national champion) out of 1.5 billion people at just 15 years of age. And that was for the 1st time it had happened. Still there were no tall mentions in media. It would have been different if it had to do something related to cricket. That is the main reason such players need to be published. There's no money in the sport, no celebrity status fame (like Cricket in India), no mentions of achievements or the amount of hard work these players go through. Let's give such players a fair chance so that many more follow the sport. Thanks for your time again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sangsa (talkcontribs)

Sangsa, if some of the interviews are more like The Bridge article (not so much Q&A), then you can highlight those for notability. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:38, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

AngusWOOF, here are three articles worth mentioning to have her considered for notability purposes: Mention of Divya Dhayal as a prodigy in Hindustan Times: https://www.hindustantimes.com/pune-news/pune-s-archery-prodigy-divya-dhayal-brings-home-two-medals-from-manila-asia-cup/story-hpGpFw480FoYy7vkakLAkN.html Mention in another very reputable newspaper: https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/pune/dhayal-sisters-qualify-for-youth-world-championship-4829422/ And a more detailed article in the bridge: https://thebridge.in/everybody-excels-in-their-own-time-you-just-need-to-be-patient-by-divya-dhayal/ Other Women Compound Archery players from India for your reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madhumita_Kumari https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trisha_Deb https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muskan_Kirar ThanksSangsa (talk) 18:22, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Sangsa, the first of the three might be okay. The second is half passing mention but can be used to bolster her career section. The third is written by Dhayal so that's primary/self-pub. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:26, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

You're right AngusWOOF. The first one clearly distinguishes her as a subject for notability and I have mentioned it as a reference in the Draft. Currently reference no. 18 in the Draft. Now if all seems alright to you, what's the next step for me so that the article is published? Thanks again Sangsa (talk) 18:37, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Sangsa, I would resubmit it and add to the comments the sources that you think will meet WP:GNG AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:40, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch AngusWOOF for your inputs and time! I'll mention the article in my comment for WP:GNG. If time permits, it would be highly appreciated if you could review the article for acceptance after that. Looking forward to more inputs from you on other humble edits form me towards wikipedia. Thanks Sangsa (talk) 18:49, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

AngusWOOF, I have added the references as a comment in the draft for WP:GNG and published it as a minor edit. The article is already under review so I didn't resubmit it. If you want me to resubmit it then i'll do that. Thanks Sangsa (talk) 19:08, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Sangsa, it looks like it's been approved. Congrats! AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:37, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

BluesteelGA (talk) 18:42, 4 March 2019 (UTC) hi! The RefrigiWear website wasn't used as a reference - all references used were newspaper articles or magazine articles about the company or its products themselves. They are not online, but I can send you scans if needed. I don't understand your comment about needing sources outside the company website when the website wasn't cited at all. There are 7 references, including some from national publications like Field & Stream, for a relatively short article so I am not sure what else is needed reference wise.

Any guidance you could provide would be appreciated because it seems like the requirements were met and then the goalposts were moved.

thanks so much!

BluesteelGA, there are word choices that are copied from the company's history on its website https://www.refrigiwear.it/en/history, namely the "convinced" and the "lack of capital". Hi - I'm obviously very new at this. I would like to know what I can do to get my recently submitted article up to standards. It appears the major issue is lack of independent sources of coverage for the subject. I'm not sure how to cite things like podcast and youtube appearances, and 4,000+ Twitter followers, et cetera.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Apologies for having to put up with my learning curve. :)

NobleBrown (talk) 15:30, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

You need to cite news and magazine sources that are independent of the subject. YouTubes and Twitters from Brown himself isn't going to help. Also please mind WP:COI if you are writing on behalf of Brown. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:24, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Visa requirements for Chinese citizens of China–Myanmar border areas

Hi AngusWOOF,

The Draft:Visa requirements for Chinese citizens of China–Myanmar border areas is similar to Visa requirements for Chinese citizens of Macau in content. The only difference is the former holds the "People's Republic of China China–Myanmar Border Areas Exit and Entry Permit" while the latter holds "People's Republic of China Macao Special Administrative Region passport". They are both passport-like documents (you can check the screenshot of the former document here) and have different visa requirements. Both are based on international treaties, so there's no reason how the latter should be included while the former not. --173.68.165.114 (talk) 03:35, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Is there anything especially unique about those border areas compared to Visa requirements for Chinese citizens? Can you start a discussion on Talk:Visa requirements for Chinese citizens on whether that needs a split from the main article as with Macau and Hong Kong? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:44, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
As far as I can see, this only applies to entry to Myanmar, so this can be covered by Visa requirements for Chinese citizens in the entry for Myanmar. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:49, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
The issue is that the CMBA Entry and Exit Permit is a passport document issued to residents of a specific region. Any country may have separate policy of Entry and Exit Permit holders. Right now, I am not sure whether Thailand has any special policy to those holders entering Thailand via the Shan State-Thailand land border, such as via Tachilek, but the locals seemed to travel quite freely (I am not a local there and can only get the official information from China). This is like, a mainland Chinese holder of ROC passport do not enjoy any of the visa free policy assigned to those Taiwanese, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu holder of the ROC passport.
Also, there are plenty of bilateral agreements signed by China and various documents. Including them all in Visa requirements for Chinese citizens would make the article too long and unreadable. --173.68.165.114 (talk) 04:05, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
This can be added as a single sentence that "Residents of the border provinces can request a CMBA Entry and Exit permit that grants (brief list of special visa privileges)". I don't think that would be unreadable. It can also be added as a footnote in the Myanmar entry if it is. But having a separate article for each exception would be rather excessive. AngusWOOF (bark • :::sniff) 04:10, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
"* A China–Myanmar Border Areas Exit and Entry Permit is available for Chinese citizens of China–Myanmar border areas which grants visa free access." AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:24, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
173.68.165.114, can you rewrite it so it is more like Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents. It really shouldn't need an entire Visa system for those border cities/provinces. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:41, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

I dont know what to say... The Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents is a domestic travel document, while the PRC CMBA Entry and Exit Permit is an international travel document. Their difference is essential.

  • Plus, there are certain similar documents which will allow a Chinese to travel in Myanmar. AFAIK for the converse trip for Burmese citizens there are at least two bilingual Burmese non-passport travel documents recognised by China. Also, the China-Myanmar border is full of rebel territories, some of those are coordinated between a local party of Myanmar and a local government under the acknowledgment of the Burmese and Chinese central government. De facto policies are changed sometimes on a daily basis. There's indeed too much information for a single travel document article or to be included into the main article. IMHO the best way now is to remove non-Burmese parties in the table in the article and give the reader a {{see}} reference. --173.68.165.114 (talk) 21:46, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
173.68.165.114, I've added a line in the article. It doesn't need to be detailed down to the fine print, just that there are special documents that expedite travel between the countries that can be done like with the online check-ins. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:18, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Clarification on request for draft approval

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Halloween_2:_Creatures_Collection is not a compilation album. It is an original studio album which had no individual page on Wikipedia. I created that page and included references to both AllMusic and MusicBrainz. So, this is a page to be included just like this is a page to be included: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween:_Sweet_ToothSpica66 (talk) 17:29, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Spica66, it still needs reviews and such to indicate independent notability from the discography per WP:NALBUM AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:15, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Spica66, I've accepted it into mainspace based off of the number-one charting on Billboard New Age Albums. Please help detail the track list, there are quite a few songs that are covers of television/movie theme songs so the songwriting credit should go to the appropriate person with arrangements by Mannheim Steamroller where appropriate. David Bursteen Article for Review

Hi AngusWoof, I submitted the article for David Bursteen on behalf of him. He's one of my clients who also has an AboutMe page. Please let us know if you can reconsider accepting his article.

Thanks, Shama — Preceding unsigned comment added by David Bursteen (talkcontribs) 16:55, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Shama, it has to be fundamentally rewritten so as to not use verbiage from his AboutMe page. It also needs to be sourced to news articles independent of the subject. Also please read WP:PAYDISCLOSE AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:58, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Help in Making the Article Aglaia Kong Acceptable pt.2

AngusWOOF Hi, I previously asked for help in making an article approved and you asked to identify the sources that meet standards. I just wanted to check in again and see if the article can be reviewed and approved. For your convenience, the previous section I left for you was #10 Help in Making the Article Acceptable, and the article is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Aglaia_Kong . Thank you so much! Vivian0314 (talk) 17:24, 5 March 2019 (UTC) Vivian 3.5.2019

Vivian0314, I added my feedback on the sources on the article. Some of them appear to be written from within the industry so it is hard to tell if it is a primary topic / co-written by company. Also the first one is close to Q&A so it is primary. Do you have more sources that go over her life? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:35, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Request on 08:17:46, 6 March 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Henrysask

Thanks for your detailed comments on Alison Phillips page - I will try to improve the references. However, in terms of her notability, she is THE top editor of one of the largest newspapers in the country (as per the Mirror's own article) You suggest 'editor in chief' but in the UK the title 'editor' is simply that title's top editor. Note Geordie Greig's article for example (the editor of the Daily Mail). What else can be done to establish notability? Henrysask (talk) 08:17, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Henrysask (talk) 08:17, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Can you provide references that focus on Phillips? See WP:THREE, and list them at the top of the article for review. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:01, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Henrysask, regarding Editor, got it. Maybe change title to Editor as that's the equivalent of Editor-in-chief for non-UK papers. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:07, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Henrysask, it looks like it's been accepted. Congrats! AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:35, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Kari Wahlgren needed for "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

Would anybody please want to consider Kari Wahlgren doing a voice role or two for an upcoming episode of "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"? 2602:306:31FD:5AE0:850D:8826:5E95:3EEB (talk) 15:37, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Angus, the previous reviewer asked for a less dense and more conversational tone to make the stub more accessible to readers, hence the updated version you now see.

How do I go about getting consistent guidance - I suspect if you reviewed the original document you would have had a different view. This is by no means a criticism, just trying to navigate the system.

David.m.donohue (talk) 01:44, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

David.m.donohue, the opening paragraph should be a summary of what "Emergent coding" is, when and how it was conceived and where it applies. Then you can have a background, development, or history section on the concept, and perhaps some applications or reception showing how it is being used. Draft: Alisa Pomerantz-Boro article

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the article does not qualify under notable music-related topics. However, that is not how I think the wiki should be evaluated. She should be evaluated as a spiritual/religious leader. Alisa Pomerantz-Boro is a member of the Jewish clergy, an ordained Cantor, and one of the first 14 woman to be ordained as such by the Conservative Movement of Judaism. She is only the 2nd woman ever to head the Cantors Assembly, the largest organization of Cantors in the World. The Cantors Assembly has a website as well, where Alisa is referenced as the President. https://www.cantors.org/officers-and-staff/

I deliberately avoided self-published sources. The first of the three citations I share with you is from Hadassah Magazine. The print version has a circulation of 250,000 monthly, and the web reference is to an article that was in the print magazine. http://www.hadassahmagazine.org/2018/08/21/sacred-music-female-key/

The second article was also printed, however in our regional Jewish newspaper The Jewish Community Voice has a circulation of 50,000 in the Delaware Valley of Pennsylvania/New Jersey. This talks about her leadership as clergy in her synagogue. https://www.jewishvoicesnj.org/articles/wednesday-mornings-are-a-special-time-for-women-at-beth-el/

The third source is a concert review from the Washington Post, retrieved from ProSource.

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Sboro (talkcontribs) 23:04, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

The Hadassah Magazine source isn't significant coverage on Boro herself as she is only mentioned in passing in two sentences or so. Jewish Voices NJ is borderline, again she is incidental in coverage as the leader or representative of the group, but it doesn't dive into her career. Do you have more detailed sources that aren't from the primary organizations? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:00, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Excellent point. As a spiritual leader, there are not career retrospective publications, nor many scholarly journals period. Many web-related sources are from PR materials provided to the publishers. Here is another recent article from Jewish Voices NJ, which is independent and has a staff of writers who don't rely on press releases. https://www.jewishvoicesnj.org/articles/jewish-women-as-agents-of-change-event-raises-awareness/

She has a variety of op-ed pieces, but they don't fit the bill either, do they? This piece, co-authored with Rabbi Debra Newman Kamin (the current President of the Rabbinical Assembly and also the 2nd woman to hold that position). https://www.jta.org/2018/07/06/opinion/conservative-movement-closing-gender-gap-still-work-done

Additionally, the Jewish Community around the globe is not a unified body, it is, by it's nature hyperlocalized.... There are multiple organizations which act as umbrellas for the different areas, so there are no Oscars or Nobels for Cantors and Rabbis. Perhaps the closest is that Alisa has been an award recipient from Masorti Olami - the umbrella organization of Conservative Synagogues globally. http://masortiolami.org/december-2011-kislev-5772/

Related, as far as notability goes, a case can be made for her qualifying as a creative professional. She is well regarded and credited in print by colleagues...Her composition "Modim" has been performed around the world by many other Cantors in concert and added to their liturgical services... I can provide examples, if required, such as, Alisa, as President of the Cantors Assembly, was asked to install Cantor Rabbi Jeffrey Myers at Tree of Life Synagogue in June 2018. In addition to installing Cantor Rabbi Myers, the Divas on the Bima provided the entertainment. This was just a few months prior to the mass shooting there. https://issuu.com/pittchron/docs/_180615 (page 6).

Ultimately, thank you for your consideration. Sboro (talk) 15:17, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Sboro, see if you can find sources that would meet WP:THREE or WP:GNG and you can list them up front on the AFC reviewing part of the main page, so that other AFC reviewers can consider them. The ones that she personally authored only show that she publishes or contributes to those publications. https://www.jta.org/2018/07/06/opinion/conservative-movement-closing-gender-gap-still-work-done is a passing mention as a footnote, okay for establishing her position but not towards GNG. http://masortiolami.org/december-2011-kislev-5772/ also shows she got the award, okay for listing as a sentence but not a GNG source. https://issuu.com/pittchron/docs/_180615 is also good for showing her singing at an event, but not enough for GNG. Deletion of Draft "Wayne Albee"

Hi AngusWOOF, thank you for reviewing my page. You deleted it for reasons of Copyright infringement.

Please note the following:

  • The main source for the article was the Seattle Camera Club page on Wayne Albee. That site has recently been deleted, and exists only at archive.org. It was properly sourced and cited in the article.
  • Even though I used it as my source, I rewrote all the content. The only section that remained as it was in the original was the following:

Albee produced numerous photographs for Washington State publications, including three major series for The Town Crier: “The Rubaiyat,” December 13, 1924, pp. 17-25: “The Kings, an Interpretative Study of the Artist, a tribute to the poet Louise Imogen Guine, December 11, 1926, pp.17-22; and “Camera Studies by Wayne Albee,” December 14, 1929.

I did not rewrite this because it is just a listing of work by the artist. That does not seem to me to reasonably be copyrightable content, but if it is, it can easily be rephrased.

  • The page you listed as being copyright infringed is just copied from the original Seattle Camera Club page, and is specifically cited as such on that page where it is quoted.
  • There is no copyright notice on the original page.

I believe your deletion was in error.

Kitoba (talk) 15:15, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Kitoba, see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. The Seattle Camera Club page shouldn't be assumed to be public domain or copyright free just because they don't have a copyright symbol on it. You can still refer to the archived version of it on cite web or wayback machine. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:56, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

VivianC02 (talk) 18:14, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

VivianC02, she's not meeting WP:ENT for significant roles in multiple productions. Guest / minor recurring judging on a single show isn't enough to make her notable by that criteria. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:20, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Improving Discovery

Hi, Angus! I'm wondering if you could help me understand what would better constitute a body of independent references pertaining to notability. I've read the notability entry and at a cursory glance, the subject seems to pass muster... BUT, you're clearly very experienced in this regard and so I'd like to learn more, so I can make improvements! (I'm dogged if nothing else. HA!) Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Reeveskd (talkcontribs) 21:40, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Reeveskd, I would look at WP:ORG which is the notability criteria for schools. Elementary schools end up being redirects to the school district unless they have something unique that is notable, and that is significantly covered in independent sources. Feedback Request - Draft:Safety Sign

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my draft article Draft:Safety sign to identify any glaring holes or faults that would cause a failure when resubmitted for consideration.--The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 01:46, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

I think the main thing is convincing AFC reviewers that the topic isn't a content fork, hence the split discussion, and that it meets WP:THREE with regards to reliable sources. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:51, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Okay, as requested, I believe these to be my three strongest sources. (Admittedly the sheer number of sources is partly due to proving that a standard or former standard 'exists' and it's unable provide much information beyond that. Frustratingly not a lot of those are floating around in an accessible way.)
  • American National Standard Institute (November 15, 2011). "ANSI Z535.4-2011 - Product Safety Signs & Labels" (PDF). ANSI. Retrieved 22 November 2018.
  • European Economic Council (24 June 1992). "Council Directive 92/58/EEC of 24 June 1992 on the minimum requirements for the provision of safety and/or health signs at work". EUR-Lex. Retrieved 17 November 2018.
  • Wogalter, Michael S.; DeJoy, David M.; Laughery, Kenneth R. (1999). Warnings and Risk Communication. Philadelphia, PA: Taylor & Francis. ISBN 0-7484-0266-7.
I guess I'm a little perplexed as to how to handle the split discussion, since it's just not generating any feedback, even after posting on the discussions of several projects that seemed like they'd be interested parties in the discussion. Am I allowed to try reaching out to editors directly via their talk page, such as ones listed in the article history as having edited the page? --The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 06:34, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Yes, you can contact any of the editors. Maybe they have ideas. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:03, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. I just resubmitted the article via the 'Resubmit' button.--The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 00:50, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Seika Hosokawa

The article Seika Hosokawa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This actor does not meet notability guidelines: no evidence of substantial coverage, significant roles, fan base, or unique, prolific or innovative contributions

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vizjim (talkcontribs)

This was reviewed in a few minutes requesting additional sources. The sources were FOX Business and a local newspaper, and for dating the business the Secretary of State and BBB. Please let me know what other types of sources this would need.

Dadventurefamily (talk) 16:09, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Dadventurefamily, you need some sources that are independent of the subject. The Fox Business video is a "paid content" video, so it is connected to the business or the insurance company Hiscox. Review of Draft:Amber_Studio

Hello AngusWOOF, and thank you for the review of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Amber_Studio

I restructured the references and included a major new reference (non-interview, independent, international article about the games industry in Romania, which includes significant details about Amber). I believe references 1, 2 and 4 are the most relevant ones for the company. Arguably the references to the industry awards and nominations received should also count as proof of notability.

Looking forward to your feedback on the above, before I resubmit.

Thank you! Kthan75 (talk) 10:41, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Kthan75, please see if you can find some more sources. The first one you posted and the VentureBeat one is promising. I found a wall-street.ro one that has some details as well. Also I removed the services section as that didn't add much. Can you review the tone of the article so that it is not advertising in nature? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:48, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

AngusWOOF, thanks a lot for the quick feedback. I found several other sources which seem quite good (check [6] and [8]), including a major piece by a local TV channel, written and video, with interviews from several people from the company. I also added a bit to the history, thanks to some additional information from the new sources. Finally, I made some slight corrections and revisions to the text, to give a more neutral tone. I hope it's ok now, I resubmitted the draft.

Cellemetry Review

Please take another look at this article. I have addressed the citation concern as follows:

The Wikipedia article submission contained a reference to a book by Thomas F. Evans [1] that has an entire chapter on Cellemetry. Another book that covers Cellemetry is “Wireless Crash Course” [2] I have added this to the Cellemetry article on Wikipedia. The book ‘the Comprehensive Guide to Wireless Technology’ has a short section on Cellemetry[3]. I included it in the article as well since it establishes a date when the network started operations. Another book that talks about Cellemetry is the guide to utility automation [4] Here is a link to an industry newsletter at the time [5] The reason I reference it is that it shows the extent of the coverage Cellemetry had achieved at the time. I did not include the link in the article. If you think it should be placed in there I can find a place. Also, Cellemetry is addressed in the ‘Wireless Data Handbook’ in section 4.4.2.1 [6] I did not include this reference in the Wikipedia article because the section is difficult to see / link and the book is $135. You can see the index of the book and if you search the book for “Cellemetry” you can see part of the section. Here is a SEC 10K [7]filed by Numerex (now a part of Sierra Wireless) that talks about Cellemerty. Please let me know if these are enough references. If not, the Google books site have a lot of newsletters, trade publications, technical manuals, and more books that talk about Cellemetry — Preceding unsigned comment added by CSYguy (talkcontribs) 18:00, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

References

CSYguy, can you organize the article more so that it has some organized sections such as History (details on the founding of the company, and the acquisitions/mergers with Numerex), Technology, Products? I think there's probably enough from those textbooks, but it needs to be a little more clear what is the company and what is the technology. Also you can rename it to just Cellemetry instead of CellemetrySM which makes it look like corporate literature trademarks. I'll throw in a stylization note. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:50, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
CSYguy, please help rewrite the lead paragraph to summarize what the company is and what it does. Also list the WP:THREE sources you mentioned here on that AFC reviewing section. Thanks AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:56, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Help List of Winx Club characters

Hey, I see you're familiar with List of Winx Club characters - I've been working on cutting the fluff, what do you think of tabling the selkies/fairy animals? I just copied and pasted what was already there into a table. How did my cutting introduce more fancruft than was there before? Originalmess, you've also commented in all their pets/helpers individually in each of the character's description. That's way too much. You can cut the redundant hobbies, traits, signature colors. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:44, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
If you look at the diffs, I moved the pets/helpers from their own sections (which I deleted, along with trivia about the pets etc) to test if that would flow more logically, following the featured lists of cartoon characters which emphasize relationships/plot points instead of personality traits. I can move them back to the bottom if you undo your revert, but it’s way too much copyediting and cutting to redo by hand for an article which badly needs copyediting and cutting. originalmesshow u doin that busta rhyme? 19:02, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
I'd simplify each one to a bullet list, like: Lockette, Pixie of Portals, is Bloom's pixie or Lockette, Pixie of Portals. (Bloom) AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:20, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

Fyi on Sally Smart

FYI I came across the draft for Sally Smart that you had declined October 18, 2018. In the meantime, RebeccaGreen had added an enormous amount of sources, including multiple museum collections, which clearly demonstrate notability. I therefore moved it to article space.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:38, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

ThatMontrealIP, okay, as long as she's got enough secondaries to meet WP:GNG. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:40, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
Yes, Rebecca Green took care of that!ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:42, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi,

The draft i'm working on is a start article so that I can get a hang of Wikipedia. I do have more content to add. However, as I'm new to the community, and I didn't want the article to be flagged off as advertorial, is the reason I have kept it short. Please let me know what changes can I make. Nwalavalkar786 (talk) 18:17, 25 March 2019 (UTC) Thanks.

"Wikipedia is not a memorial service or a legacy resume listing." I'm not sure exactly what your problem with the article I submitted is. Wikipedia is filled with biography pages just like this one. Johnston was a key NASA employee who had an impact on the American manned spaceflight program over the span of twenty years until he retired. His name is listed on the NASA Distinguished Service Medal page, as are dozens of others of equal stature. Most of them DO have biography pages, which are no longer than what I created for Johnston. Since I was already doing research on my for another project, I thought I'd add a page for him.

MichaelWBay (talk) 23:05, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

MichaelWBay, you need secondary sources that are independent of the subject or the companies that he was an employee of or the museum. The way it looks now with the bare bones profile is like a resume WP:NOTRESUME AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:10, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Infinite Energy (company)

Hello, AngusWOOF, I need guidance. The last notes posted by you on my attempt to have this article published say that it reads like an advertisement, but I think I've written this from a neutral standpoint. Perhaps you can show me where, in particular, in needs to be fixed? The sources I've used are all "independent, reliable, published sources." In fact, all three organizations are news outlets with good reputations--two are owned by the NY Times Co. And these news organizations are in three different locales--Gainesville and Ocala, Florida, and Atlanta. None of the source material was created by me or by Infinite Energy. Not in the last draft, anyway. Any other help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

14:44:06, 24 March 2019 review of submission by TownesVP

My draft was turned down because "none of the bands Farley is involved with are notable at this time" and a lack of notable sources. I disagree based on the fact that he's been featured on The Tonight Show and played on NPR. Beyond that, he's legitimately the most prolific songwriter of all time, recording and releasing over twenty thousand songs over three hundred albums. The sources I referenced include Wired, Vice, and Medium. I also have an article on him posted on The Guardian, which is listed under reliable sources. I didn't use it in the original draft, but I've added it since. https://www.theguardian.com/media/media-blog/2014/jan/29/spotify-how-a-busy-songwriter-youve-never-heard-of-makes-it-work-for-him

Aside from this, he's been featured on Bloomberg, Fox News, several local news sites and made commercials for Android.

Sorry for any confusion, this is my first time using wiki and I spent a good amount of time learning about how to make an acceptable page before submitting. What can I do to properly fix these issues to prove notoriety? Thanks for your help.

TownesVP (talk) 14:44, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

@TownesVP: - the reviewer may be right that the individual doesn't pass standard musician notability, however there's an interesting case to be made that his prolific work or spotify work might qualify him under the general notability guideline for his newsworthiness.
I'm currently very busy, but I'm interested to see other reviewers' thoughts. I'll be free from Thursday onwards and if no-one else has, I'll take a look then (feel free to poke me on Friday - just hit the talk in my username!). Nosebagbear (talk) 11:55, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

Hello AngusWOOF, I've posted above the post I made on the Wiki Help Desk in regards to Article creation as well as the response I received. I acknowledge that none of Matt Farley's bands are notable in and of themselves, but after Nosebagbear's comment, I looked into the qualifications for general notability and am interested in your response on that. I have articles about Matt Farley going back nearly a decade from The Boston Globe, Vulture, The Guardian, The A/V Club and also Vice and Wired, which I cited. He's also been on a lot of local news stations across the country as well as in NZ and Australia. He's been covered on NPR and featured on The Tonight Show. Could any of these contribute towards his general notability status? I don't mean to be confrontational, this is just the only article I've made and I spent a lot of time on it because I really do feel he meets all the requirements. If you disagree, please let me know if there is anything further I can do. Thank you.

TownesVP (talk) 23:04, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

TownesVP, if you can provide the best WP:THREE articles that show his individual notability and not that of the bands, then the reviewers can focus on that to see if he passes notability. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:07, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
TownesVP, it still has a huge number of non-notable tracks and album contributions. That list needs to be removed. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:08, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Ray Orlando Williams (Submission declined)

Hello AngusWOOF, thanks for the review of my Wikipedia submission on Ray Orlando Williams.

I have removed the additional links/sources, as requested, and replaced with more valid sources where relevant.

  • The previously provided source to the subject's age: Williams' age is referred to in numerous of the sources I initially provided. I had thought the YouTube link (from a verified YouTube account), and/or the FamousBirthdays.com link, would be the most current and easy sources. (His age is quoted in several articles, however, they are provided as his current age at that time, so one would have to calculate/approximate his current age based on the article's timestamp.)
  • As for the other "pedia" site: I have removed that link. The information shown there was also visible in the other sources I had provided (I was attempting to provide more source points).

I had thought that minor details such as "the subject's age" would be inconsequential towards having the entire submission declined (as it is only meant "bonus" info, and not the subject of the article). I do hope that after these new adjustments, the submission now meets Wikipedia standards for approval.

Thank you & kind regards, - Andrew.E.Davis (talk) 14:45, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Andrew.E.Davis, YouTube self-verify might be okay if it's one of those Draw My Life kind of videos, but yes, news articles would be better. If you can provide WP:THREE of your best sources that establish the person's notability then AFC reviewers can check those first. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:56, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Thanks very much for the feedback, AngusWOOF. What you said makes sense.

I have now included in the article submission, much more reputable sources, such as: TheSun.co.uk, a .EDU website, as well as other College/News/Article pages, discussing Ray Orlando Williams' accomplishments, as stated in the article draft.

Additional links:

There are very many articles referencing Ray Orlando Williams, I didn't want to spam the submission with too many (I was attempting to provide the most recent & visible sources). However, I understand now that priority is placed on the reputation of the sources, which makes sense.

Hopefully this would now be enough reputable/verifiable sources, to meet Wikipedia's criteria.

Thank you. -Andrew.E.Davis (talk) 15:56, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Andrew.E.Davis, The Sun's not a reliable source. WP:RSP, UTM article is a student newspaper article, and letsgoicc is a primary source. The other ones you listed are either random blogs or company press releases. Can you find other news articles that detail his career? Demopolis Times is good, you can use those articles, and AL.com AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:42, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Andrew.E.Davis, try to add these. I think this would help:

Thanks, AngusWOOF! I think the article looks great now, with reliable sources. I've just included a few of the others you mentioned (theblaze.com, westalabamawatchman.com, wtva.com), while trying to minimize clutter.

DemopolisTimes.com definitely seems to be a top source for this topic, though I was trying to get as many unique sources as I could find (avoiding repeating one source/entity).

I saw mentioned for "The Sun" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources - "Some editors consider The Sun to be reliable for sports reporting." - So that's great that we were able to keep it (as weightlifting falls under "Sports").

Thanks much for your help and guidance! Kind regards. -Andrew.E.Davis (talk) 18:37, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Andrew.E.Davis, see if you can craft a paragraph summarizing his biography and career chronologically. Where was he born and grew up (I'm assuming Demopolis), where he went to school, when did he start powerlifting, what competitions did he enter. He was a player too, and a coach? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:49, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi AngusWOOF. I'd be very happy to work on those additional details! I definitely will do.
I have some urgent business project deadlines due this coming week, so I'll have to be off for a bit.
I'm noting this as urgent priority, to resume within about a week, improving this article further.
>>"He was a player too, and a coach?" - It does seem that way. I've never met/seen him personally, but his story and achievements are really interesting to me. I'll thoroughly research these details, and include the most reliable supporting sources I can find. I'll be back soon, thanks! -Andrew.E.Davis (talk) 04:54, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

Could you provide such a link please. I did see her comment before the link disappeared. She said Susanna Vernon was "An ordinary hard working woman". However, as the article states in its last sentence ; "In 2018 her life was one of a dozen featured in an exhibition at the University of Salamanca “Pioneer female interpreters (1900-1953), Bridging the Gap”." A link to the exhibition can be found at; https://saladeprensa.usal.es/node/116691. Could she reconsider, or at least contact me Gervasevernon (talk) 17:12, 17 March 2019 (UTC) References

Article rejection

Hello,

I understand where you are coming from with your rejection but that guy lived 4500 years ago or so. The amount of data available is rightly scarcer under the circumstances, but he still got a place in the Giza cemetery. The intent was to document most of those persons who were the highest layer of the Egyptian society of their time to produce a whole mass of information which seemed relevant. I started to edit the Giza East field but there is too much for one page even if apparently there is too few for one page. Infraneka (talk) 12:00, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Infraneka, if there are multiple different sources that describe this person, then that should be okay. I wasn't sure given that the reference was pointing to the same document. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:07, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

A response to the refusal of Zack Snyder's Justice League cut page

This page is separated from the main Justice League (film) page for several reasons:

- The main Justice League page is protected.

- This is an intial page, and it's planned to be expanded in the future, since there's alot of ongoing information about the cut; it's history and confirmed differences from the theatrical cut, for example.

-The search for Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League is trending, since it's confirmed by the director himself, therefore, there's a potential release for this cut in the future.

-The cut is speculated to be completely different movie from the theatrical cut - similar to Richard Donner cut of Superman II, which has it's own page on Wikipedia - for several reasons: -The cut uses different soundtrack, visual effects and tone (similar to those seen in first Justice League trailer, before the departure of Zack Snyder). -Several scenes are completely reshooted by director Joss Whedon (rather than Zack Snyder). -The cut has different length. -Several characters made an appearance in the cut, but did not appear in the theatrical cut (most notably: Darksied), additionally, the cut uses completely different design for the main vilain Steppenwolf.

Snake Fisher (talk) 16:41, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Snake Fisher, you'll want to discuss it at the main page's talk page then. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:43, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

AngusWOOF, Pardon me, I'm still a beginner, and I still don't know how to open a discussion in the main page.

Snake Fisher, go to Talk:Justice League (film) and click New section, and you can paste your plan to split off the Snyder cut and reasons. And then you can see what editors there think of that plan. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:53, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

General

Hi angus hope you're great My article went live two months ago https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_786 as it was reviewed by legacy as per your suggestion you told me to add more further links & references , i added three references from news site which was published last month, but someone put deletion tag, I'm not blaming him but it sounds like he don't like the content as the deletion tag guy looks like indian & the film is showing few anti indian scene such as befitting response to india over ceasefire violation. According to Wikipedia movies should have references & I've added three news references which is showing in google news then how come it is nominated for deletion? I see this article "evil marriage" it has two reference & not from news but from random website & it is live.

I'm dissapointed kindly suggest. MemonBhai (talk) 11:36, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

RADII: DRAFT Prior to Resubmission Inquiry

Hi there!

This is my first time pushing through an article and asking for help: I submitted a draft a while ago under Yina1999 about a new media outline focused on China and had some trouble finding mentions of it deep enough that Wiki would accept. I found 2 or three extras I could use, and am wondering if they would be sufficient to satisfy the issue raised with my draft submission of RADII. Would you be willing to review them briefly: http://chinafilminsider.com/film-and-tv-in-2019-what-will-china-be-watching/ and https://technode.com/2018/12/20/china-scandals-internet-2018/ .

Thanks Lena Yina1999 (talk) 05:19, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Lena, both articles are written by RADII staff, and don't really discuss the company. What the draft needs are news articles that discuss RADII. The one currently on the draft only mentions the company in passing. The others are from the company itself or one of the key people's linkedin page. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:36, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Eren's name Spelling

Hi, I've had to deal with a certain user who refuses to believe that non-english sources, even if they are from the episodes themselves, count towards it. ( for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Suite_PreCure&oldid=890821305 ) I've dealt with him before, but I can't do it by myself. May I ask for your help? --OmoriP (talk) 00:27, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

OmoriP, I asked about it in Talk:Suite_PreCure#Spelling_of_Ellen/Eren back in 2016. Any news since then? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:33, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

I've discovered since then that official info from canon sources (Official spelling from Toei: http://i.imgur.com/odgy6kx.jpg (in-show evidence), http://i.imgur.com/efPpy1E.jpg (commercial card game evidence) ) that it is spelled Eren, and that fansubs have called her that, before the official spelling was revealed. Again, this user has been harmful before, belittling me for being a new user. But I refuse to back down, since the article referred to her as Eren before he messed it up. --OmoriP (talk) 00:38, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

OmoriP, you can't use in-animation spellings as they can be Engrished. Is there other evidence they are using it as the English official spelling? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:49, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
OmoriP, are there official English subs, like released by Crunchyroll or Toei, that spell out the character's name? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:51, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

I showed you the other Spelling from the official card game, which spells it as Eren, Alongside an official book scan from the 10th anniversary special booklet. https://yande.re/post/show/283182 And guinness world records spells it as Eren, too. http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2018/11/55-anime-characters-unite-in-anniversary-film-to-achieve-unique-record-547166

There are no official subs yet, however. --OmoriP (talk) 00:57, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

OmoriP, those aren't English websites though, except Guinness World Records. And you'll need to convince Sk8erPrince, not me, about it. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:05, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Initial D Wiki Citations

It's kinda hard to write episode names or volumes as sources for citations, as Funimation hasn't licensed Fifth or Final Stage (both are licensed to Avex Entertainment Inc.), and there are no Youtube videos that I'm able to link it to. I am a little new to Wikipedia editing now that it's been so long since I've edited anything(I had a previous account before this one a long, long time ago), so I'm unaware if there is a way to cite it without having to cite a Youtube video or other online video type, since Avex Entertainment blocks all videos including clips of Fifth or Final Stage. I also have no volumes of Initial D manga, so I'm unable to cite that either unless I can find what volumes certain scenes are from.

Hawk Studios Gaming (talk) 02:54, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Hawk Studios Gaming

Hawk Studios Gaming, you can cite the episode like this {{Ref|Anime|S1 ep 2}} for season 1 episode 2, which generates S1 ep 2. I'm going to move the others away from the older citation format in favor of this one. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:00, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

A bit confused. Whenever I try to copy/paste that into the page, it creates this box with the link inside of it instead of just the small attachment. A little help? (Also, I have the feeling you're using Source, while I'm using Visual Editor judging by the look of the thing I keep copying (S1 ep 2). (EDIT: Nevermind. I now see that you were using source.)

They are located in the same building but are two completely separate schools so that is why I wanted to make a separate page . (Ina0124 (talk) 21:21, 10 April 2019 (UTC))

Can you find some more news articles about Collegiate, and expand upon the two different schools? See also talk page for Talk:Green Run High School. If it's going to be split, then the Collegiate stuff should not be on the High School page, unless they are affiliated, like students can attend either classes / programs? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:26, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Hey I made the changes you recommended am I good to go now or is there anything else that needs to be clarified? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ina0124 (talkcontribs) 23:36, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Ina0124, it's up and running now. Please see the refideas on the talk page. I need to find some articles that confirm when Patricio took over. I'm guessing it was in 2018 sometime. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:39, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

THANK YOU !! I will continue making needed adjustments:) (Ina0124 (talk) 12:55, 11 April 2019 (UTC))

DYK nomination for Sarlacc's Pit cave

Hello, I have completed a DYK review for an article which you made substantial contributions to. I noted some questions at Template:Did you know nominations/Sarlacc's Pit cave. If you are interested, please respond there. Thanks. Flibirigit (talk) 15:33, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Danny P. Dietz

Hi, I can't thank you enough for the help with my draft: Danny P. Dietz, It's greatly appreciated. I noticed that you stated possible glowing praise for the soldier, upon going through the draft with this perspective in mind, I realized you were right, I was showing a lot more support and nearly becoming somewhat biased. I have done some cleaning up of the draft, it would greatly be appreciated if you could go over it again and tell me if anything else is faulty. Thank you! User:Delta fiver (talk) 20:01 , (UTC)

Hi thank you again for the edits on the draft, is it clear for resubmission or are there things that need to be fixed, Thanks! User:Delta fiver (talk) , 5:46 (UTC)

Thank you for investing your time and helping me publish my first article. Greatly appreciated! User:Delta fiver (talk) , 19:08 (UTC)

Robert W. Stallman

Why isn't the Award reference and the items under References adequate for showing reliable secondary sources? I have also posted my COI on my page.

Dan — Preceding unsigned comment added by DanStallman (talkcontribs) 22:48, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Dan, the award page is a Wikipedia page so it can't be used as a reference per WP:CIRCULAR. The rest of the material you cited come from Stallman himself which is either WP:SELFPUBLISH or WP:PRIMARY. We need sources that are secondary and independent of the subject. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:42, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Ok, one last stab at this. Can the number of authors that cite his work count as "secondary and independent of the subject"? ........................................................................................

My apologies for dragging you through the minutia, my attempt is to highlight his work without boring the reader with his technical content. I am beginning to think I do need to add content about how much he published and was cited.

"Wikipedia is not a memorial page. You need articles that are not self-published or the standard obituary to show notability." You are correct, I did not read this. Let me add the correct content, within 2 weeks.

Examples of Concerns on Canada and the Armoured Combat Vehicle (ACV)

Thank you for your comments on the subject draft article.

As this is my first ever article, could you provide some examples of where the draft fails to meet the following requirements?

Submissions should summarise information in secondary, reliable sources and not contain opinions or original research.
Please write about the topic from a neutral point of view in an encyclopedic manner.

Thank you,

Bluenose Gunner (talk) 20:44, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Bluenose Gunner, please see WP:NOTESSAY, as the article is formatted like it's coming from someone's research and opinions on the subject rather than a description of the subject. If you want to talk about ACVs in Canada, then the intro paragraph should describe what that is, and then provide sections on history, reception, legacy (if no longer in used) AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:50, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Bluenose Gunner, also note there is already an article on Armoured fighting vehicle and Tanks of Canada. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:53, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Audiodog

Hi AngusWOOF,

Thank you for reviewing my submission so quickly. I'm having a tough time figuring out what it will take to get Draft:Audiodog to pass muster with regard to references and/or album reviews. I've modeled my article after one about another album by the same artist (Transformer (Bruce Kulick album)), and at this point mine parallels the example in most ways (including references and such); StraussInTheHouse seemed to think the beefing up I had done to my draft after he first declined it would allow it to pass upon resubmission (please see User talk:StraussInTheHouse#Draft:Audiodog for additional details).

Your comment was, "Need more album reviews." Would it suffice to add and cite an excerpt from the review here, and/or add a reference to the rating here in the Professional Ratings box? Can you say whether the Transformer article has something mine lacks, or suffers from the same problem?

Thanks for your guidance,
Lardofdorkness (talk) 19:10, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Lardofdorkness, it needs a paragraph section where it summarizes some of the major reviews by music journalists. Not just a corner rating box. Regarding allmusic you could write "Greg Prato of Allmusic said that (criticism detail)" Discogs is not a reliable source. You'll need more reviews. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:15, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Lardofdorkness, you can also add the Greg Prato part where they compare songwriting styles with the other members as per [1] That it's being reported from a Kiss Encyclopedia book is helpful. Also, can you can also add a paragraph about the origins of the title being named after his dog Joe, per [2], I know it's a primary source but still useful for background information. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:10, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
Will do - thanks for the review and additional suggestions. Lardofdorkness (talk) 15:27, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. I pushed the article through. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:27, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

Request on 18:27:34, 15 April 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Giantsarethebest

Hey AngusWOOF - the sources are from independent and well established news orgs. The articles are also written about the subject and not just mentioning in passing. Jenny Lam will be running in SF's first ever special election for school board commissioner. Do I need more content + sources?

Giantsarethebest (talk) 18:27, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Giantsarethebest, sfmayor.com is a primary source / press release, so it is connected to the subject. The other article is a secondary report on it, but attributes statements made about Lam from the mayor's statements and not from its own research, so it is echoing the press release. You need to find some more news articles that aren't either. But SF Chronicle otherwise is okay for one source. You need more. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:38, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

angusWOOF, Pulled some more sources but they all generally reference the same day/topic/events as Jenny Lam is new and there's not much published info on her.

virtual kitchen brand

Thank you for your suggestion. I added it as category for ghost restaurant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Isybells (talkcontribs) 14:45, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Isybells, it needs to be condensed a lot more and not be as redundant as the main article. How are the three types defined? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:52, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Help with new page

Sorry, this is my first time attempting to do anything on Wiki. I'm trying to create a page for the Police Department for which I work. I know LOTS of facts and I personally am the Historian for the department but it's difficult citing facts.

For example, I cite the City Clerk of Owasso as the citation for when my Police Department was officially formed. When I cite Owasso City Clerk, do I need to specifically write her name at the time? Or how else would I cite that person/position?

Also, I list many facts regarding changes through the decades. I make statements based on photographs I have of the decades, for example I make statements regarding uniform changes because I have pictures to back it up, but how do I cite picture that I have?

Lastly, I make statements on the page I'm trying to create because I was here for them, or personally interviewed the people that worked here at the time. How do I make a citation based on an interview of someone that was here at the time?

Sorry for all the questions — Preceding unsigned comment added by Owasso940 (talkcontribs) 22:19, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Owasso940, thanks for drafting the page. A lot of the details are coming from within your organization and would be better suited for writing up for your organization's website. Wikipedia needs sources that are independent of the subject to show notability, so consider outside media such as newspapers or local television websites. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:40, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
Owasso940, kindly check WP:PSCOI as well to help self-disclose your connection to the group. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:48, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Paulo's many articles

Hi Angus! FYI, an AfC you declined a couple of weeks ago Draft:Paulo Victor Soares, which the author has re-submitted and is currently pending, is duplicative of an article we already have called Paulo Victor Costa Soares. The mainspace article (which was created after you declined the AfC) is at AfD, and the article's creator is currently blocked for creating too many unsourced BLPs and editing while logged out. Also note that the editor who is creating the draft also has another draft going of the same article, Draft:Paulo Victor, and has also !voted keep at the AfD of the mainspace article. I wasn't sure how to post a "heads up" to reviewers that these two drafts are duplicates, as I've never done anything in draftspace before, so I figured I'd give you the heads up. Please let me know if there's something further I should do, like post a template or something on the draft articles' talk pages. Thanks. Levivich 15:10, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Levivich, If they're created by sock evaders, you can CSD them for that. I'll comment that they are duplicates of the one that's currently in AFD. I think they can end up being redirects to that article if it stays and they can be deleted if the AFD results in delete. Or delete for housekeeping as the creating editor is now working on the mainspace article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:06, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. I guess I'll see how the AfD shakes out and go from there. Good to know it won't be taking up reviewers' time at AfC. Levivich 01:41, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Levivich Paulo's article survived AFD so I converted both of the drafts into redirects. Thanks again for tracking these down. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:42, 19 April 2019 (UTC)

Clarification

Hi AngusWOOF, thanks for reviewing the draft article Draft:FutureBrand. I would be really grateful for some clarification on the reasons for declining the submission if possible?

The draft article includes references from AdWeek and Fast Company (detailed articles on their American Airlines rebrand), The Wall Street Journal (article on their acquisition strategy) CNBC, Forbes and Fast Company (describing their research and findings) and Creative Review (full feature of their work rebranding NatWest).

Sorry to ask but given the status of these publications, the nature of the content in the articles, and the focus on the company in question, can you help me understand why in your opinion they don’t establish notability or show more than a passing mention?

Having looked at other pages in Category:Branding companies for reference, could you also help me understand why the following examples show notability more effectively than this draft?

Moving Brands, Lippincott (brand consultancy), Prophet (company), Brand Union, Lambie-Nairn, Traction (company), Brand Institute, Master-McNeil, Tinsley Advertising, Saffron Brand Consultants, Interbrand.

Appreciate your help.

--Woollara (talk) 16:06, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi AngusWOOF, are you able to help clarify the above? Thank you.
--Woollara (talk) 10:19, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
Woollara, I see a ton of passing mentions of the company as it collaborates with other companies, so need your help to identify WP:THREE articles that best cover the article. Forbes should not be from contributor section. You can post those three at the top of the article and resubmit. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:53, 19 April 2019 (UTC)

Anil K. Chauhan Page

Hello,

I hope your day is going well. Thank you for taking the time to review my page. I am really needing some specific recommendations on changes that should be made so that I can get this page approved. I am open to any suggestions that you might have. Thank you! RYANMICHAELMILLER (talk) 22:30, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

RYANMICHAELMILLER, the main thing is that it should not read like a resume statement, but be more of a biographical description. It should also be supported by external references that are independent of the subject. If there are news articles that write up about him, use those, not the ones within his immediate research groups and communities. As it stands, it reads like it was copy-pasted from an academic profile, so of course it will contain a lot of resume-stuffing activities and positive things to say about the person.I suggest rewriting the career section completely and in somewhat chronological order. In (year), he worked at (place) where he studied (main topics). While there, he published several papers that were (recognition by the community). (further recognition). He also founded (organization) in (year). Have another paragraph on Try to explain briefly what topics he worked on and link those to other Wikipedia articles. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:53, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
RYANMICHAELMILLER, the article was deleted for being too promotional / advertising. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:00, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

Bradley Cooper (politician)

you have rejected the publication of the article Bradley Cooper (politician) and you gave reasons such as not enough references and not proving him to be a notable politician. You said in a comment you made that him serving the school board doesn't make him a politician and I would agree but he has done a lot more than working for the school board he has worked with campaigns of some of the biggest politicians in Missouri and even the president would it help if it were to say political activist. and also how many sources would you say is enough to make it good enough? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smallman1093 (talkcontribs) 00:50, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

See WP:GNG and WP:NPOLITICIAN But if you have WP:THREE that you can clearly indicate are secondary sources independent of the subject, post those. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:56, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

would it help to change politician to political activist because brad is heavily involved in politics and the campaigns while maybe not being a politician himself he has been involved in them — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smallman1093 (talkcontribs) 01:06, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Smallman1093, when I look up "Bradley Cooper politician" or "Bradley Cooper activist" I get mostly political stuff concerning the actor, unless I add in Missouri, then I get "student" as occupation [3] [4] and it doesn't seem that notable. We need more sources that give him an occupation besides being a student that's appeared in the local news. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:58, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Well of course the actor is going to get more coverage than him and he is a student but the Kansas city star article talks about him being involved in the campaigns of both josh hawley and Donald trump and the columbiam article mentions him as a volunteer with the Greene county republicans neither of those are just saying student — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smallman1093 (talkcontribs) 03:22, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Smallman1093, I renamed the article to (activist) AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:08, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

Urigamer, can you add those into the article for Reception, especially any where the video game website meets WP:VG/RS as reliable? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 13:52, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
Urigamer, it looks like Hahnchen pushed this into mainspace already and bypassed AFC together. Jovanmilic97 has since added a decent number of WP:VG/RS reviews so you can continue developing it there. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:19, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

Request on 18:10:42, 17 April 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Doinashalaru

I've edited the Dr. Beth Shubin Stein page a few times already and have also added the Creative Commons license on her site in order to use images from there. Is there anything else that I should do for the page to be published?

Thanks! Doinashalaru (talk) 18:10, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Doinashalaru, you need to rewrite the biography in your own words, not copy-paste it from her public profile at https://www.drbethshubinstein.com/our-office/dr-beth-shubin-stein/ You also need news sources independent of their website to show Stein is notable.
