Hello Athaenara. I am new to Wikipedia and have learned a lot in the past weeks but specially today. I submitted my first article today and even though I read a lot and saw tons of tutorials I still was missing some things that very kindly some more experienced editors have pointed out in the café, my talk page and and admin's talk page. I understand that the book I chose for my article needs more exposure and reviews so I can reference it to outside reliable sources. I was wandering if I could get my work back on my sandbox or any private space so I can rework it, fix mistakes and maybe in the future publish it if it meets the requirements.
On the other hand, I was told that my page and 2 other pages (that I didn't create) were deleted because of conflict of interest. At least that's what they told me. There pages are: Susan Peirce Thompson and Bright Line Eating. I edited these pages (minor) because they had errors and were missing accurate information. example: last names or actualization of info. Apparently, because I edited on those pages and they are related to the book I was writing. I read that I can't work for the company or be close related to the author or the publishing house and I confirm that I am not receiving any type of compensation. I can also confirm that this topic interests me and that I follow the author's work and have read her books, same books that were needed for me to be able to write. I read in the guidelines that writing as a volunteer and NOT writing in a promotional or advertising way is welcome in wikipedia. I believe that everyone that writes about something needs to have interest right? Specially with how hard this was for me and writing as a volunteer haha. Can you please explain why these pages were deleted? I feel bad that because my article was not qualified, pages that are valuable and that have contributions from the community have been deleted. Can you please share with me your thought on this? Thanks so much for your time and help. Marianti21 (talk) 13:57, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- They weren't deleted "because of conflict of interest", as you said, but because they were WP:SPAM. Yours was not the only account involved. – Athaenara ✉ 15:46, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Can you explain? What does my contributions have to do with other accounts? Thanks a lot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marianti21 (talk • contribs) 16:41, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- Probably nothing. It's not about you, it's about the various pages. It occurs to me at times that some new editors have the idea that Wikipedia isn't really an encyclopedia, that the term is some sort of euphemism. It's not. – Athaenara ✉ 18:31, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. I have to admit I'm still in learning and therefore confused about if the problem is that books shouldn't be on wikipedia? At the same time, I found a lot of books when I was creating my article. Regarding the article I created and was deleted, the other editors gave me some pointers like the need for more external references or receptions, which I will take in consideration for next time. Any additional feedback is very welcome. Regarding the Susan Peirce Thompson article, I want to ask you to take a look at the notability of this person. She is a two time best selling author (with one of her books translated into 15 languages) and she has a lot of media appearances. I went back to get some of the latest mentions and appearances. I really think that that article is valuable for the encyclopedia and would kindly ask you to reconsider un deleting it. Yesterday she appeared on national television. I think this is notable right? I'm sharing below some links that I believe will reference this person's work and trajectory. Thank you for your help and for taking the time.

Decora Blind Systems Deleted
→ in re: Decora Blind Systems (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), Draft:Decora Blind Systems (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Hey, I'm wondering how come Decora Blind Systems was deleted? I'm not sure if you read the article, but it was focused on the history of the company back to 1979, up to the recent investment of £10 million by the Business Growth Fund. It included references to many local newspapers discussing the company's growth, references to the owner's on the Irish Rich List by The Times, Irish politicians praising the business in the BBC, and their recent acquisition of several significant retailers across Europe and Australia. Decora don't offer any online retail, so the article was not created with the intention of advertising. I followed the same format as Hillarys Blinds and Hunter Douglas, should those be removed? Regarding the deletion of "IndieGala"
→ in re: IndieGala (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
The original IndieGala page was removed out of lack of references and low content. I researched and remade it in its entirety, by taking inspiration and even adapting other existing pages from the same industry branch, such as HumbleBundle, GreenManGaming etc. some were taken word by word. This page stood up, just like others for years until then. It is an over 10 year old site with a certain reputation already. The updated version contained information about the evolution from a small bundle retailer to an independent publisher/developer, charity contributor and involvement in various controversies, all factually documented by reputable sites and sources. I am not sure in what way can the article be considered Promotional when factual information is presented as well as negative criticism brought, as well as various sources to support it. Unless counting sourcing 10 year or articles that present their first bundle as promotion, of course.
Please advise upon what part constitutes "promotion" in what way can it be improved in order to not go against the rules. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StevenCojo (talk • contribs) 23:50, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- Undeletion of recently published article 'Sobhan Mukherjee'
I would like to state that as the writer, I am just a third person and am not paid by anyone through any means for writing the article. The article has been written by me considering nothing but facts that are true and authentic and respective references were also added. However the article was deleted after it was nominated for speedy deletion. I requested to know the areas having problem and needing revision in the contest to deletion section but wasn't answered and the article was deleted. I request the undeletion of the article and clarification regarding the areas that need revision so that the article can be published. Thank you. Anonymous Atronauch (talk) 19:56, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
I would once again request sincerely that the article 'Sobhan Mukherjee' be undeleted because everything written in it was nothing but true and authentic facts without any intention of being biased by me. Furthermore, the search traffic had increased greatly for the search of the article since its publication because there are many individuals who want to know and read the article on Sobhan Mukherjee. If there was any area which seemed promotional, biased or spam and posed a problem towards its publication, it was unintentional and I wish to know the areas so that it could be revised. But I would once again like to kindly request the administrator to undelete and restore the article 'Sobhan Mukherjee.' Also, in reply the above given link with the 'Sobhan Mukherjee' has no article linked to it as can be seen. I sincerely wish the restoration of the article. Renuar Locaj draft
→ in re: Draft:Renuar Locaj (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
This page is not unambiguously promotional, because Locaj is a well-known artist in Albania. He is an ambassador for his country and it seems his last work on migration documents the pain and sacrifice of refugees. - @WikiEDDE: On the contrary, it was very obviously promotional, which is another way of saying what is meant when a page is tagged {{db-g11}} for deletion as "unambiguous advertising or promotion": it was not written in the appropriately neutral encyclopedic tone which Wikipedia policies and guidelines require. – Athaenara ✉ 10:00, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
Venus Remedies Deletion
→ in re: Draft:Venus Remedies (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), see also User talk:SaffronHeart, User talk:BhargavKrishna97
Thanks for your deletion of the article I nominated! To me, it was clear that you deleted it using G11, which is evident from the deletion log. However, the creator, BhargavKrishna97, insisted that the article was neutral and informative (which seemed the contrary to me as it was like an advert), and said you invalidly deleted using G8 (however, that is because the page was dependent on the deleted G11 one). I believe those assertions to be incorrect, hence, could you look into this and kindly advise the editor? Many thanks. VickKiang (talk) 08:53, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
- @VickKiang: Your tagging was correct, it was an advertisement which the company would have been happy to have on their own homepage and should not be undeleted. – Athaenara ✉ 09:09, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
- Can you please share more details on what makes my draft an advertisement. Please, I request you to help me understand why you believe the article would be tagged as an advertisement? BhargavKrishna97 (talk) 09:16, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Athaenara
- I am 100% sure that the nominator, @VickKiang did not take the right decision by nominating my draft of Venus Remedies Limited for deletion under G11. Upon enquiring onto why he came to the specific conclusion that it is an advert or promotional write up, he just mentioned that I have used the word "Innovation". Truthfully there is not even one mention of the word in the main company description, the one he is pointing at is actually the name of few awards which are received by the company. I believe as people, we are no one to change or modify the names of awards which are officially awarded to specific entities.
- This shows that editor did not review the article from a neutral mindset and he did not pay attention to various segments or where exactly certain words are placed which may be questionable. As a person who is dedicated towards contributing to the decentralization of Wiki, I strongly believe in incorporating only neutral and independent information onto Wiki space.

- @Mambablaq.1: Consider the following passage as just one example:
- Rivera claims the throne of King of Fashion with his unorthodox approach to fashion. He is quoted as saying “There no limits in fashion, I see it as art. Every piece is special and everyone observes it differently. I push the boundaries with my work and I want my audience to have a visual experience unimagined.”
- That kind of writing may be suitable for a fan magazine or in the subject's own advertisements. It does not belong in an encyclopedia. – Athaenara ✉ 18:00, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Athaenara, you deleted Navi Group as a G11, immediately after Graeme Bartlett restored it as a deleted PROD. I would assume Graeme would not have restored it if he saw it as problematic. I have declined the second undeletion request, but I wanted to know why you think the article was not neutral? Hello Athaenara! I am new to Wikipedia and i submitted my first article yesterday : Draft:New European Bauhaus. Few times later it was deleted, and I noticed you tagged G11 and G12 on. Is it possible to get back the article and edit it ? If you say that the presentation seems directed by a promotion purpose, i obviously need to write differently some paragraphs. The purpose of this page is not to promote a company or a product, but to present an artistic movement launched by the European Commission, which makes date and reference like the historical Bauhaus movement. The point of view of this page is neutral because it's about providing information to the Wikipedia community about the context in which contemporary artistic projects emerge these last two years in Europe, so i think it totally deserves to be included. Hello Athaenara,
May I please be given a copy of the material on the deleted article for Jessica_Corr? I don't know if you'd be able to give this to me as a draft or in a talk page? As far as I remember the overall structure of the article might be salvageable as brief but well referenced biography, so I figured it may be good practice for me to try and work on point of view/neutrality with the help of the teahouse community. Speedy Deletion of Page created for Pratik Sen

Hi Athaenara,
I received the notification of speedy deletion of the page created for Pratik Sen, who is a very popular actor in Bengali cinema. I would like to know the reason(s) for the speedy deletion as there was no unambiguous advertising of the person - rather the complete profile on Pratik Sen. All information is factual after much research and validation.
As much as possible I have provided the reference links to articles keeping in mind the plagiarism guidelines as well as to corroborate the information provided.
Happy to update references which is possibly the only column that is incomplete for all works listed and/or clarify any information that comes across as incorrect or questionable.

- It looks like Athaenara undeleted this based on your request. The CSD tag was still on it, and I ran across the material during a routine search for junk sources. I re-assessed and re-deleted the material as purely promotional and poorly sourced. If you need more details than that, let me know on my talk page. Otherwise, please use the draft article at Draft:Pratik Sen; fix it there and have it accepted through the AFC process. Kuru (talk) 11:44, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

- Please Reinstate my MahaDAO wiki
Hello there,
Recently you sent my draft of "MahaDao" for speedy deletion under the pretence of "unambiguous advertising". Can you clarify on what grounds this is advertising or promoting a company/group/product etc..? My draft was simply providing information on a notable topic regarding MahaDAO. If possible can you give me an in-depth explanation of how to avoid having this type of post deleted as the criteria for speedy deletion is not clear. My tone throughout the draft was neutral.
Any information on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Regards,

- @LexB77: The page you refer to as "my wiki" was straight up WP:SPAM and not a valid encyclopedia article. It's really rather appalling of you to try to insist that it was. – Athaenara ✉ 01:41, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- Apologies for not using the correct nomenclature. Can you help me differentiate what the difference between my contribution was, to something like Cardano? The link you provided to WP:SPAM doesn't provide any insight, and I would like to learn where I went wrong, and what I can do to improve the contribution.

- "Articles considered advertisements include those that are solicitations for a business, product or service, or are public relations pieces designed to promote a company or individual. Wikispam articles are usually noted for sales-oriented language and external links to a commercial website. However, a differentiation should be made between spam articles and legitimate articles about commercial entities."
- "When an article on an otherwise encyclopedic topic has the tone of an advertisement, the article can often be salvaged by rewriting it in a neutral point of view. "
- Again, forgive me but I don't see the difference in what was presented, and what is presented in this article Cardano . I modelled my format after this to ensure it was as neutral as possible. Additionally, my first contribution to wikipedia was this article, so it seems pre-mature to label me a " Wikipedia:single-purpose account ". LexB77 (talk) 00:51, 15 May 2022 (UTC)Lex

You recently deleted a draft post (Draft: Qamar Khan) after it was flagged for speedy deletion. I understand the reasoning and I'm currently attempting a rewrite and identifying proper secondary sources to reference. I'm not sure if you are able to still see the deleted draft, but do you think that stripping back the information to the basic facts and reducing the referencing to only those solely focused on the referenced fact (as identified by nearlyevil665) would suffice in helping this article pass review? As the subject has recently been added to the Dambulla Giants Wikipedia page as the owner, I was trying to provide some background to him, but due to my connection with the subject I wanted to make my COI transparent. Hi Athaenara, Regarding the deletion of Draft:Globee Business Awards
Please consider -
- A similar article - Stevie Awards on Wikipedia encouraged me to write about the Globee Awards.
- The article I started writing is not meant for their promotion or advertising, nor am I being paid to do so. Though I have a connection as a previous judge and winner of the Globee awards, I need to declare my conflict of interest.
- Several noted people having their biographies on Wikipedia are awarded the Globee Awards, e.g., Julie Meyer, Bill Conner, and Julia Skupchenko
Since this is my first Wikipedia article so my tone may not be accurate, can you allow me to re-write it from a neutral view? Regards, Ambar.Prajapati (talk) 23:12, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Ambar.Prajapati: That wasn't an encyclopedia article, that was a promotional blurb sourced entirely to the company's own website advertising itself. – Athaenara ✉ 02:00, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Athaenara: Understood. However, can we ignore important activities around the globe by private entities? Renowned organizations from many countries have been participating in the Globee Awards for the past two decades. In my deleted article, you may see I researched and provided data on 35 countries winning Gold in the past five years. You may find hundreds of web pages besides the company mentioning them. Should we categorize writing about them as promotions? I don't want to be biased but be able to document and present facts as they stand. Your thoughts? - @Grattan33: I'm not going to question your qualifications. I must simply point out that there was nothing encyclopedic about the page you wrote. - (talk page stalker) Grattan33, I just wanted to add that Wikipedia standards have changed a lot in the 11 years since you wrote the Levenger company article. There are plenty of articles that were put directly into the main space of the project 10+ years ago that would be tagged for deletion or moved to Draft space if the same article was created today. There is less allowance given for improving articles over a long period of time and, unless the article is a stub, there is an expectation that the articles will be adequately sourced pretty soon after creation. That's why we encourage editors to take advantage of creating articles in Draft space, an area of the project where drafts can be developed over time and are less likely to be tagged for deletion. There they can be submitted for AFC review or moved to main space when the page creator thinks they are in good enough shape to pass review by a New Page Patroller. Liz Read! Talk! 22:55, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, think of how much smaller and less helpful Wikipedia would be today if the standards hadn't been so reasonable before! :) It has become so cumbersome that if there is a Wikipedia article about a person, and that person themselves wanted to fix an error about themselves, they literally cannot do that unless there is "sourced" material. I tagged this page for speedy because it has all the signs of being a corporate maintained article. I agree it needs cleaning up; the problem is, I've cleaned it up before and it's all been reverted to "peacock mode" by a sus account. I've already reported it to Project Spam and put a COI message w/ evidence on the talk page. Anything else I should do to make sure the right people see it? → in re: Draft:Astera Software (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Hi,
My draft page for the company Astera Software was deleted for being promotional. I have since then reshaped the entire content of the page and removed all links that lead to the company's website. I have now only included that information for which there are citations that are from 3rd party websites and authors. Please let me know if the draft is fine now; its very brief and will only take a minute to go over.Draft:Astera Software.

- Hi. Could you kindly let me know how this company page can be made without being promotional. Is it the language use? or the lack of reliable sources? Is the company simply not well-cited enough by reliable 3rd party articles to warrant a page? Please do let me know what the issues are. Millions of company pages exist without being struck for promotional content, and I've gone through all of Wikipedia's guidelines to figure out how to achieve that. I would really appreciate your help. Abdullahmehta (talk) 05:30, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, Abdullahmehta. I am just passing by, but your references appear very weak to me. At least one is overtly based on a company press release so is worthless. Another is "reader supported" and relies on "affiliate commissions". That is also of no value. Then we have "Customer Success Report", which shows no evidence of reliability. The Bloomberg reference is to a routine database entry and does not constitute significant coverage. Acceptable Wikipedia articles summarize significant coverage by independent reliable sources. When I look at your draft, I simply do not see that there is any such coverage, at least as shown in the draft at this time. Cullen328 (talk) 05:41, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi Athaenara, you deleted a sandbox that I had created which I was using as a space to draft a new article. I understand from rsjaffe that you did this with good reason, as I had inadvertently breached Wikipedia's copyright regulations. As an inexperienced Wikipedia contributor, I was unaware of the rule against including direct quotes or close paraphrasing, and so I am glad to have been alerted to that, and will ensure I don't do it again. I would like to ask if you could kindly reinstate my sandbox as a Draft, minus the quotation, as I was still in the early stage of drafting and had intended to provide external sources for the text in every row of the table I had created. I will do my best to follow correct Wikipedia procedures and will send it for review when ready.

Dear Athaenara, Hope you are well. You have deleted the entries for Southern Guild, Marjan van Aubel and Emily Gernild. All three are aligned with Wikipedia's policies on neutrality, reliable sourcing and biographies of living people and galleries.
Southern Guild In order to optimise the representation of African art and artists, I have created the page for Southern Guild which is the only African art gallery on Wikipedia. It is the most important and prominent gallery on the continent. They are represented at international art fairs and championing African artists. I have looked at Western galleries on Wikipedia and followed the same formatting and references. Is there a reason why you aren't interested in African art? Please recreate the page as this is an important contribution to the history of art on the continent. The gallery is as important as the White Cube in London.
Marjan van Aubel Dutch designer Marjan van Aubel co-designed the winning pavilion at the global architecture fair Expo last year and the founder of the solar biennale. Her innovative work is part of the permanent collections at MOMA and some of the most important museums around the world. She has developed designs and solutions with universities and brands - and even given a TED talk. I do not understand why you have deleted the entry. Please recreate the page. The photographer has been in touch with the Wikipedia team about the portrait, giving her permission to use it. I have used https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daan_Roosegaarde as a reference to create the page. There were so many articles backing up all the content, from credible newspapers.
Emily Gernild One of the most important female artists working in Denmark today. Her work is owned by the Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and the Prince of Belgium. Her work has been exhibited internationally and she is part of a new movement of female artists in Denmark. It is extremely important that people know about female artists, including https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mie_Olise There are so many male artists featured on Wikipedia and it would be good to raise awareness around more female artists. Please recreate the page.
All three are aligned with Wikipedia's policies on neutrality, reliable sourcing and biographies of living people and galleries.

Hi Athaenara, You deleted my newly created page ‘’HighPoint_Technologies,_Inc.’’. Is it possible to assist me with the information, so I may work on how to add this back. We are a storage solution company, that works with many integrated solutions for Mac, PC, Linux, etc for PCIe controller cards, mother boards, and solutions for HBA, USB, SAS/SATA products. HighPoint has been in business since around 1995, and is positioned well among it's competitors and integrated solutions partners, that have pages on Wikipedia. Some of these companies are dominantly on Wikipedia, and we need to show up as we are not getting a lot from Wikipedia. That is why I marked it as paid content writing, because we have a content writing team, and I work for the company directly in Marketing or IT related activities for our website traffic. Can you please let me know what I can do differently to not have the page deleted. When I posted it I noticed an error about 'paid' writing content, perhaps I put the tag in wrong, I read that it was a 4-month review process, and that if I continue making edits it will likely stay alive. We are not a spam company, and as far as things like RAID controller cards go we are leading the marketing, almost everyone who has seen HighPoint turn into what it is today, to present are avid customers and proud of our product. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.114.102.58 (talk) 20:27, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- The page was extremely promotional and had zero references to any sources at all, much less the WP:RS required on Wikipedia. It doesn't matter how notable the company and it's employees think it is, any article about it here must show real notability as per this encyclopedia's policies and guidelines. – Athaenara ✉ 20:37, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- Can you please try to explain how other business organizations that have been around less, or are even our partners are able to maintain pages?
- A lot of our products are our own inventions, and most people in the industry that use our PCIe cards find the products a singular product that is irreplaceable.
- Communities in computer science, and engineering would gladly say it is an underestimated product, that belongs on wikipedia and information communities. What do we need to do differently?
- We listed our twenty year history in innovations, none of it was promotional.
- I can go back and add citations again, I had added dozens of internal linking sources like SAS, HBA, SATA, PCIe etc. And, I did think this was a feature which would automatically populate. Would you please be so kind as to explain how to add citations? Please give our page another article submission. Any of our competitors and smaller organizations in the community we are headquartered in maintain pages, and we are likely a much more informative source as an OEM, ODM, VAR category company, where people constantly use our product throughout industries and scientific verticals including machine learning, AI, OCP, etc. 23.114.102.58 (talk) 21:54, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
