Check this out

User:Kemmsy joined few days ago and the first was here, inputing to Chris Ifediora. Puff & image here. As if not to mention the other disruptive edits, the editor on their talk page here issued for the removal of the "paid tag" on the article. Here comes User:Sonnie Nwosu Abuja relatively new with maybe a day or two after Kemmsy. This user edited the same article adding almost the same context -related words here. Plus that, they have created/submitted a draft Draft:OCI Foundation here which happens to be that of "Ifediora". Now, the sock there is that when User:JarrahTree welcomed Sonnie Nwosu Abuja, and after two discussions, the editor affirmed a relpy here with "we" and here again (it shows there is sock..ing). After my warning to them because of their edits to "Ifediora", they replied here with the same response exactly as Kemmsy and was repeated here again. Thanks! — Safari ScribeEdits! Note that I tend to welcome in WP:AGF even apparent problem editors on the basis that a welcome comment has least a cooling effect on some, but in this case it looks like a circus... JarrahTree 11:50, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
Both accounts are socks of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BrookeCook.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:33, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

Looks like User talk:FeldmarschallGneisenau is a sock of Urabura: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Urabura/Archive

They were previously SPI'd, but was too soon to say. The overlap in pages edited is suspicious now. Some of them are very niche.

Zenomonoz (talk) 11:33, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Another piece of evidence since the SPI: FeldmarschallGneisenau was edit-warring to keep the phrase "prime minister" in the lede of Donald Tusk without capitalization [1]. This formatting appears to have been originally introduced by Urabura's sockpuppet HetmanWL. [2]. NicolausPrime (talk) 11:41, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
I forgot to explicitly add these two now-blocked accounts to the list of sockpuppets during the SPI investigation: User:Shqian User:Retois. This comment made me suspicious: [3]. NicolausPrime (talk) 11:48, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
Even more obvious is that they decided to return to my talk page to troll there.[4]. I never interacted with FeldmarschallGneisenau before but I have interacted with Galehautt who left personal attacks due to the same article that got them indeffed.[5]. Mellk (talk) 11:51, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
More evidence: FeldmarschallGneisenau is now edit-warring in Czech Republic, reinserting changes to the infobox [6] that have been previously placed there by HetmanWL [7]. NicolausPrime (talk) 23:58, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Even more evidence: FeldmarschallGneisenau edited Serbia to make it not be Central Europe [8], which was what HetmanWL attempted earlier but was reverted [9]. NicolausPrime (talk) 03:27, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
I don't even know who Urabura is or where from. I'm autistic about country pages. There's nothing more I can add.FeldmarschallGneisenau (talk) 11:51, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

Please see Draft:Articles for deletion/Wrightspeed X1

This appears to be an attempt to create an AfD for Wrightspeed X1 which the editor has attempted before in several ways, at least one of which you have reverted. I was considering moving it to the correct place. There is some merit in the (potential) nomination because of lack of sourcing, but the topic appears to me to have notability. Your thoughts would be welcome. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:41, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

I've deleted the AfD, removed the tag, and blocked a wider IP range than last January, and this time for 3 months. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:55, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
Good call. I think it is a borderline qualifier for an article but I have no strong feelings about it. if someone feels strongly then they may create a fully formed deletion discussion, or ask for help in doing so. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:59, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Template:European Coach of the Year

There is no such thing as European Coach of the Year, so the template is false in a way, 100% rubbish hoax. Surely that's covered by WP:G3? Govvy (talk) 20:16, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

I'm not going to delete the template as a hoax when it's transcluded in so many pages. Work it out at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/European Football Coach of the Year.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:28, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Hiya Bbb, I've removed the template from those pages, is it viable for G3 now? Govvy (talk) 19:44, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Decline g-11 speedy

Hello. Why did you decline this speedy request [10]. The sources are promotional and promote the trailer. The filter for this article said it was Spam and I agree. What is your opinion? ---Steve Quinn (talk) 00:17, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

What matters is the language of the article, which was not promotional. Sourcing is irrelevant.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:21, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
I don't want to disagree but - where in our guidelines, policies or essays might it say sourcing is irrelevant when it comes to potentially promotional content? Or, what are you basing that assertion on? ---Steve Quinn (talk) 00:43, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

About Draft:Protests to Japan's New Immigration Bill 2023

@Lebenton and Bbb23: @Bbb23: Could you possibly specify which "entity, person, product, or idea" your CSD G11 tag on this draft refers to? @Lebenton: this draft is quite frankly a huge mess. A "WP:BEFORE" for "Protests to Japan's New Immigration Bill 2023" yields only that draft. Presumably the "New Immigration Bill" you refer to is a 2023 Bill (law) of the Japanese National Diet. Could you possibly link that particular bill? Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 11:34, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

Shirt58, it looks like a poorly written advertisement for the downtrodden.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:35, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
@Lebenton, Bbb23, Black Kite, and Deb: To be honest here, my initial (emotional, not rational) response to this is: "I don't know what to write about this." On further reflection... please see the "VTEC just kicked in, yo!" meme and replace "VTEC" with "CBT". Sort of.--Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 09:48, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
The subject of the article (if that's what you're asking) seems to be "protests". Deb (talk) 10:17, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I see you G5'd Rachana Shah yesterday, and now it's back. Btw Santhosh? Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 14:12, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

I noticed Brosscreater when they removed the AfD, but then, as now, I was reluctant to block without technical confirmation, mainly because I don't believe any of the socks has ever used the mobile platform for editing. Do me a favor and file a report at WP:SPI requesting CU. FYI, the Shah article created by Bross is almost identical to the one created by the recent sock. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:13, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Given DP's current tendency to use proxies, it interesting that the current suspect's edits to John Burgess (actor) came immediately after those of 149.88.108.4 and 149.88.108.8, both proxies/VPN belonging to Datacamp. They fall in the 149.88.96.0/20 range, a subset of which, 149.88.96.0/22, is currently blocked. Am I the only one tempted to hard-block the full /20 range? Favonian (talk) 16:53, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for looking into the evidence and blocking Dellvell's sockpuppets! '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk|contribs) 13:38, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
Who's Darnell? BTW, as long as you're here. A couple of comments about SPI and one comment about your signature. First, SPI is very structured, so we don't generally create subsections that aren't part of the normal structure. Second, unlike other administrative noticeboards, it is not required to notify the suspected socks of the report; it's not prohibited, but more often than not it's better not to do so. As for your sig, every time I see it I find it off-putting. Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of customized sigs and yours, AFAIK, is not a violation of the rather lenient guideline we have for sigs - it's the the bolding of your username with the apostrophes and all - makes me think of an article rather than a username. Thanks for the barnstar.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:46, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
Whoops, typed the wrong name. Thanks for the notice! I'm relatively new to SPIs and will be more careful next time. As for my signature, I do plan to change it to something... less custom in the future. Thank you for your great work! '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk|contribs) 01:03, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Query

Hello, Bbb23,

I realize you are no longer a checkuser but I just came across an incident that I think might be a compromised account. User:NE Ent has been an editor for 18 years but they basically retired in 2023 except for some editing over the last few days. Today, they created a draft and moved it to Wikipedia:SAE J2807 with am edit summary, "Move to mainspace". The only editors I've come across who think moving drafts to the Wikipedia/project namespace is "main space" are very new editors who are not familiar with the project. That leads me to wonder whether this account is compromised. Do you know any functionaries who are active who can check out this very old and established editor account? It just doesn't seem like a mistake a longtime editor would make. Thanks for any help or advice you can offer. Liz Read! Talk! 01:48, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

News to me

…been away for a bit but it’s news to me that non admins can officially decline a G5. I knew about contesting, so I guess thanks for your “attempt” to inform me. :) GRINCHIDICAE🎄 19:21, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Heh. How are you? The practical reason that a non-admin can decline a G5 is because assuming the article is deleted, anyone (within reason and depending on the article) can ask that it be restored. It's sort of like taking responsibility for an edit that was reverted solely because of it being a sock edit (I do mass reverts all the time) and restoring it. Based on the edit summary of the editor declining the G5 I got the impression they thought it was a viable article. Whether you agree with them or not, they are an experienced editor, so... Thanks for reading my long-winded explanation.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:18, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
I honestly feel bad that I made you go through that explanation. I was intentionally being a shit stirrer for old time sake. I appreciate you though. I get the concept.
I’m on the struggle bus with my kid (lots of health problems) and probably wrongly took it out with my sassy response. I hope you’re doing well, though. (But also I think “decline” should be reserved for admin use only.) GRINCHIDICAE🎄 19:00, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello

Follow up on User_talk:Bbb23/Archive_61#Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/UniBrill/Archive and User_talk:Bbb23/Archive_61#New_Simon_Ekpa-org. You feel like admin-deleting Prime Minister of Biafra and Who is the Prime Minister of Biafra?. I've been agf-ing that this user is maybe not a sock, but it's harder now. Possibly related: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Democratic Republic of the Yoruba. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:02, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Ha! I'd been watching this user a while ago trying to decide if they were a sock, but at that time, they'd only edited Simon Ekpa a little and nothing that I found smoking gun-like, so I let it alone and stopped watching them ("watching" users on Wikipedia is a pain in the butt, something I've complained about for years). Anyway, they are now blocked and tagged, and all their creations deleted per G5 - thanks! --Bbb23 (talk) 13:10, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

I've never started a SPI, but I'm considering doing so on this editor [12]. Any wisdom? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:14, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
If you wish to allege that Fugabus is part of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/UniBrill, it's been done once before, in October 2023, and the CU found the account to be unrelated. A lot of time has passed since then, and it's possible that the technical data now might reveal something useful that wasn't apparent last year. If you do go ahead, you should note the history in the case and that you are still filing because of the behavioral similarities, which you would of course have to list with diffs.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:35, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
Ah, didn't know about the previous one. Seems less worth the effort then. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 16:10, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Draft:ENCRYPTED MESSAGE

I saw you deleted it under G1. However, it was really an encrypted message, not gibberish. It can be cracked quite easily. Maybe it should have been left as a stale draft and deleted in 6 months. 14 novembre (talk) 🇮🇹 16:08, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

What does say after it is "cracked"?--Bbb23 (talk) 16:10, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
It is an opinion on the functioning of Wikipedia. 14 novembre (talk) 🇮🇹 16:18, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Um, doesn't it translate into actual words? In any event, the IP who created it is a vandal, and the draft is vandalism, even if it's not a G1.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:22, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
@Bbb23 Yes, I remember it could translate in real words. Anyway yes, I agree it has nothing to do with Wikipedia, I was just thinking that it didn't actually comply with that criterion. 14 novembre (talk) 🇮🇹 16:25, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Do you mean that you're going by your memory so cannot now see the encrypted text? I don't know how to decrypt, but the text was included by the IP at the bottom of this page. Can you decrypt it? I'm just curious. Also, if you know of a website that will decrypt it, please let me know. I looked at several, but they were all too complicated and didn't work for me.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:34, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
There are apparently no websites which can successfully do it. Anyway the message says that "many blocks of different duration are wrong, and this is implictly accepted by the Wikipedia community due to the fact that unregistered contribution are welcome, implicitly accepting and encouraging block evasion". I personally don't agree with the IP, but anyway I think I've answered your question. 14 novembre (talk) 🇮🇹 16:43, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

the editor cabal looks similar to me. Could you explain how?--Bbb23 (talk) 21:43, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Similar in there's an organization in the subject's background that continues to promote the subject after departing the organization, here the The American School in Switzerland (in the other article it began with the Abu Dhabi water authority per the COI statement on the main sock's userpage), and relatively closed set of editors promoting or trying to manufacture consensus on the related subject(s). There's more than one article of concern for the pending COIN discussion. But it looks like sock puppets for alumni to me. JFHJr () 00:07, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Hi! I saw this cleanup. Given the existence of List of Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance candidates for the 2024 Indian general election, is the draft acting as a sock catcher? Yavarai/Michaellko

Just wondering about this one. I requested an admin RM of Vijay Pal (politician) to salted Vijay Pal yesterday, wrongly thinking that it had previously been about a film director. No, another admin said the last one was about a politician, but moved it anyway. You previously deleted that in 2018, " Mass deletion of pages added by कलमकार per G5".

The same new account Meetupinfo (autocreated 25 April) has in a batch of politician article creations yesterday recreated Anil Parashar (same mass G5 by you as Vijay Pal) at Anil Parashar (politician), and Vipul Dubey at Vipul Dubey (politician): that one was G5'd by User:Explicit as a sock of User:Syed amjad08. Topic focus of Meetupinfo is the same as both masters: Indian politics, and Yavarai was especially focused on Uttar Pradesh.

Prior to ENwiki autocreation, they were unusually busy with precocious edits at Wikidata (primary account, created 24 April), with 657 manual edits there so far. I started looking at their oldest edits, which were all for articles that were AFD'd then recreated, or other iffy creation history, and gave up when my head began to ache.

Logs will obviously be stale for User:Michaellko, but not for User:Syed amjad08 (last SPI March 2024). Do you think this is worth an SPI? And if so, then for which master? Thanks for any advice. Wikishovel (talk) 10:14, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

I made it easier for you, deciding that they are more like Michaellko than Syed amjad08, although Meetupinfo's English appears to be more limited. Pretty obvious sock, though, so if I've gotten the wrong master, I'm not all that fussed about it.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:35, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Reverting Speedy Deletion of Sacks and Co.

Hello. I noticed that you reverted my wp:speedy recommendation for Sacks and Co. and I'd just like to understand why. The article has no inline citations as references. It is clearly promotional in that the only link is to the firm's website. Further, the article does not establish that the subjects meets wp:n. That is why I selected G11 and A7. If I am mistaken or unclear about this, please take a moment and let me know why. If you think it would be better suited for wp:prod, why would you not recommend that, rather than simply decline the edit? I look forward to your insight.Volcom95 (talk) 03:19, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

The G11 was completely misplaced, but, as I stated in my edit summary, the WP:A7 was "borderline". You're welcome to take it to AfD. As an aside, sources - or the absence of them - are largely irrelevant to A7 ("The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines.").--Bbb23 (talk) 13:25, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Could you take a look at this SPI

Hello @Bbb23! You had previously blocked TechnicianGB so I was wondering if you could check this [13]? I have been monitoring for behavioral evidence close to a year now and it's obvious to me that they are all the same person. Would you mind taking a deeper look? Thank you! Sockpuppet advice

Hi Bbb23, I would appreciate your advice on how to proceed with this issue:

It looks to me as though User:Cirt – a user who you permanently blocked – has created another sock-puppet: user:Polygnotus.

This user came to my attention with two posts on September 25th, 2023: [14] and this [15], claiming NPOV violations while demonstrating a clear personal POV on the subjects by describing Landmark as a "weird cult." Having a history of less than 100 days active editing at that point, Polygnotus demonstrated a sophisticated grasp of WP procedures and practices which it is not plausible to have acquired in that time. Also an extensive and very detailed knowledge of the editing on these subjects over the past 20 years, and of the editors involved.

The editing pattern prior to coming to prominence last September looks like an attempt to game the system by artificially building an appearance of significant involvement. Around 3,100 of those edits were done in a six-week period between September 8th and October 22nd, 2022, and are almost all 0, 1 or 2 letter edits, done in bursts of one to five hours per day at a rate of 6 - 10 edits per minute(!).. [16] Then the account was largely inactive over the next 10 months, with just 18 edits in that time, followed by about 200 during August and early September 2023.

Since then, I have observed tendentious editing on the Landmark and Werner Erhard articles, including extensive edit-warring. For instance, this deletion was repeated several times without any constructive discussion or explanation: [17]

The phrasing and style are strongly reminiscent of Cirt, especially when aggressively confronting other contributors or resorting to wikilawyering. In any case, the editing pattern is not at all normal for a new editor, regardless of whether the sockmaster is Cirt or any of the other editors who have been editing negatively on these pages over the years.

What actions do you recommend? Nwlaw63 (talk) 15:48, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

If you think the user is a sock, file a report at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cirt.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:00, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
thanks Nwlaw63 (talk) 16:35, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Sock

Hi Bbb23,

This user Jessephu edited an article on Ben Okri's book and left an edit summary saying, "edited #everybookitsreader". Probably was a new user. Here again, Olaasunbo edited that page I why same or almost edit summaries here and here. However, I don't think these same user has done bad with it or maybe didn't know the implication og shocking. I'll suggest giving them a warn or blocking the alternative. Regards. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 11:09, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

@SafariScribe@Bbb23 i am sorry about this, i was logged out y the network over here, hence the mistake. will take note. Jessephu (talk) 11:14, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
@Jessephu, the thing there is that you have to disclose all other accounts you've created and list them here so that Bbb23 will help analyse them and block them as well (it is his decision). You will be left with one account to avoid socking. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 11:17, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
Olaasunbo is a new account actually which does not belong to me , was taking the user on how to edit on Wikipedia Jessephu (talk) 11:21, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
I will leave Bbb23 to see that. I have no talk here. I will also advise, if it belongs to you, disclose that. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 11:26, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

Something fishy going on here!

Just found a cryptocurrency enthusiast article of Waqar Zaka. It looks promotional, and looks being updated by paid editors and being sued by some paid editors. Even after being two time AFD they saved it. Looks like this cryptocurrency enthusiast got another Article, and this one advertise him in different way. (This )

I only found this source reliable, but the content is just a short chit-chat interview. Other than that, not much was found. This seems old page which encourages COI culture. What do you think we should do?

Question

Hi. I asked this question on Courcelles talk about opening an investigation. It's been over a week now with no response, and I noticed Courcelles hasn't been editing since early April. If it's ok, could you look at my comment and tell me if I should open an investigation? Thanks. Vanezi (talk) 07:22, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

Looks like there's a lot of bad blood flowing among various editors in a rather contentious area. I looked at your post to Courcelles's Talk page a little, but it's way too complicated for me to evaluate easily, and I have no interest in spending the time to review it more deeply. If you do file a report at SPI, you should use diffs as evidence, not links.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:24, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
I understand if you're not interested to review it more thoroughly, the AA2 topic area is quite tiring at times. I opened the investigation for clerks/admins to review. Thanks for your time. Vanezi (talk) 19:57, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

Why revdel

Why did you revdel me blanking the page User:I would be bias if it was allowed? If you keep the blocked user's content visible on the page, there is nothing worthy of hiding from the public view in my edit. Air on White (talk) 20:59, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

By the way, would you also consider adding the sockpuppeteer template to his page as a compromise between blanking and keeping? His current userpage is an expression of his intent to troll and vandalize. In other words, it stands as a monument to his trolling. I thought it was pretty standard practice to blank or delete the userpages of vandals, especially if they themselves constituted vandalism just as we would delete vandalism-only pages in other namespaces. Air on White (talk) 21:03, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
I don't know who you are. What other accounts do you have? I didn't rev/delete anything. I reverted your edit. It's not your job to mess with other editors' userpages for any reason. Don't do it again.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:56, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
Sorry, I have the gadget that strikes through the names of blocked users. It also strikes through links to the cur/prev links in page history. I interpreted them as a revdel. Air on White (talk) 22:05, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
Air on White, You still shouldn't be blanking other editors pages that way (or doing other administrative type tasks), as Bbb23 said. Your inexperience and unfamiliarity with the tools demonstrate that. Leave tagging and blanking to admins or highly experienced users who are familiar with the policies regarding these things. Dennis Brown - 03:22, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Undeletion request

Hi Bbb23, please can you undelete User talk:216.15.18.224? You deleted it under G6, but that criterion is for uncontroversial deletions - and given multiple editors had opposed deletion at the MfD, deletion in this instance was not uncontroversial. All the best, ‍—‍a smart kitten[meow] 10:44, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

Wikipedians sure know how to waste time. The Talk page was created by Mandiace seeking help. Their request was moved to their own Talk page. Here we go again

Hi Bbb23 could you please take a look at this one [23]? Same behavior all over again. Weatherextremes (talk) 17:44, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

As far as I can know 2 admins have proven your fallacies wrong here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/TechnicianGB (as we can check in where you kept accusing me and @Farell37: of being sockpuppets) just because you want to impose your own non-neutral WP:POV and you get reverted or warned about that, it doesn't mean there is some kind of conspiracy or sockpuppets targeting you. Why do you want to se us blocked so hard? So you can monopolise Wikipedia as you want?? I have been lenient with you despite your extreme defamatory personal attack saying I was someone's else sockpuppet. But you are almost crossing the WP:DISRUPTIVE line on 2 different wikipages already. WikiEditor1890 (talk) 17:54, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

A question about SPI

Hi, I created an SPI request (including 3 accounts) a while ago. I would like to mention one thing here. While other two have no activity, Shinadamina is actively doing random edits (sorting, adding citations). Seems like trying to reach 500 edit count after my warning on talk page. I believe WP:GAMING should be considered here. Sincerely Aredoros87 (talk) 21:12, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

Addition of unsourced or improperly cited material, unexplained removal of maintenance tags, advertising or promotion

Hi Bbb23, Can you check the accuracy of this article? Many IP addresses come from the same person. 2 IP address ranges 2001:1388:A44:0:0:0:0:0 and 2001:1388:A45:0:0:0:0:0 Addition of unsourced or improperly cited material, unexplained removal of maintenance tags on Nine (singer)

All edits from the IP address found to be the same person. Harassing and deleting content in other articles which had administrators warn and rollback more than 40 disruptive edits Found the latest edit, redo it. 2001:1388:A44:E5F7:24AC:CE3C:BE06:1E4A [24] 2001:1388:A44:EDDB:98F3:C8BE:82C6:175D [25] Repeatedly adding unsourced content and deleting maintenance tags by correcting them and not explained in the article Nine (singer) in terms of being a fan club Due to adding content to live broadcast activities to sell products Duplicate content is added which is not important. As with most of the content in this article

The entire article was edited by the same person, unexplained removal of maintenance tags, and recently used a new IP address to add a lot of unsourced content. The history reveals many IP addresses from this person who has been harassing for a long time. [26] [27] [28] [29] [30] [31]

Edit history Nine (singer) has only one person, IP addresses starting with 2001:1388:A45 and 2001:1388:A44 all are the same person The edits will be made in the same way, namely adding information to the article without the source in Nine (singer) and deleting and disturbing other articles. which always has admin rollback This person made repeated changes with new IP addresses like this.

Administrators address disruptive IP address user behavior issues. Continuously adding unsourced content to Nine (singer) A single person from Lima, Peru, used the IP address to reverse an update notification. Unexplained deletion of maintenance tags Modifications were not performed according to the maintenance tag instructions. Please disturb other articles as well.[32]

repeated addition of unsourced content I think examining a person is difficult. This person from Lima, Peru uses a different IP address every time they resolve. Every time delete and add information to another article. will be reversed Then edit again with the new IP address.

This person created information in the Nine (singer) article and also caused mischief in other articles. Add information without references Administrators always roll back edits that this person deleted on other articles. Editing that disturbs another article and edited and added information only to the article Nine (singer) The person using all IP addresses in this Nine (singer) article is the same person who removed the maintenance tag without editing it.

The person using all the IP addresses I attached is the same person. I'm only giving examples because there are many. The entire article Nine (singer) has an IP address from the same person from Lima, Peru, but the IP address in the update is different every time the information is added. This person deleted the maintenance tag notice. Delete without correcting Most articles lack references. As I looked at the article's history, Nine (singer) has been doing this for a long time, but no user has come to check on this person. MeetHoneyBee (talk) 19:30, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

No idea why you've come to me about this; nor do I understand what you expect me to do about it.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:17, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

Accusation of being a Sockpuppet of TheCurrencyGuy

Bbb23, in the first fortnight of April this year, an IP server made many edits at British currency in the Middle East and at Egyptian pound. The editor using that IP server was me, and I can assure you that I am definitely not TheCurrencyGuy. Whatever, I was nearly finished what I had set out to do when I found myself blocked and accused of abusing multiple accounts. I'd be most grateful if you could take a second look at this. An editor called classicwiki reported me to the sockpuppet investigation noticeboard as having been carrying out what he termed as "serial edits" at British currency in the Middle East. And because there is a blocked editor called TheCurrencyGuy, this seems to have convinced Classicwiki that me and TheCurrencyGuy must be one and the same person. But surely you must know that the editing style is different, and that the focus of interest is different, and that the IP servers are different. Were the IP servers even geographically close to each other? My IP server was blocked at the same time as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jahor12345 who was simulataneously accused of being a sockpuppet of TheCurrencyGuy. I don't know whether Jahor12345 is a sockpuppet of TheCurrencyGuy or not, but the account was editing at exactly the same time as me on different articles during the morning of 3rd April 2024. My IP server began with detailed edits about the Egyptian pound, and then around noon, switched over to British currency in the Middle East. Meanwhile, editor Jahor12345 was editing across a wide range of currency topics, mainly reformatting. The editing styles are completely different. My IP server carried out edits at 1204hrs and 1206hrs, while Jahor12345 carried out an edit in the middle of that two minute period at 1205hrs. We couldn't possibly be the same person. I really would be most grateful if you could take a closer look at this matter, because otherwise I won't be able to edit on Wikipedia currency articles again without being accused of being a sockpuppet of TheCurrencyGuy. Socking/upe/move warring

Bbb23, you recently asked me to refrain from move warring, even though those articles were created by UPE. Now, here is another possible sock/meat puppet, Dafydd y Corach, moving declined drafts to the main namespace after my draftification and using your warning as a shield. How to deal with such cases now? GSS💬 08:37, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

@Zzuuzz: Thank you for taking care of them. Would you mind reverting their move? They might have violated WP:SOCK, as your block reason describes, and those articles are not yet ready for the main namespace, with one of them recently being declined. Thank you, GSS💬 09:01, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

Page protection request

Hello Bbb23; I hope you are doing well. Can you please reconsider your recent decision (diff) regarding my request for the protection of List of oldest continuously inhabited cities? Again, besides the page suffering in general from frequent additions that violate WP:OR (including improper editorial synthesis), there is a persistent range of IPs that have been trying to add original research since the middle of February; their activity is clearly disruptive, and has been going on for months now. Unfortunately, I cannot be active on a daily basis, and the aforementioned range of IPs doesn't immediately disrupt the article following my reverts; this might give the appearance that there isn't enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Besides my proposals for a semi-protection or a range block (specifically for the aforementioned page), I believe that a pending changes protection should also be considered. If you have any other alternative proposals, please share them. Demetrios1993 (talk) 02:10, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

False Accusation of Sockpuppetry relating to TheCurrencyGuy

Bbb23, I'd be most grateful if you could tend to the request above to check out what made you think that I am the same person as TheCurrecyGuy. You must know that we were using different IP addresses and editing with a different focus, mostly on different topics, albeit we both have an interest in currency related matters. I can assure you that I am not a sockpuppet of TheCurrencyGuy. I have no idea who he is and I have never interacted with him. Specialrequestaccount (talk) 00:47, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

I have nothing to say. Please don't post here again on this subject. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:49, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

LTA

Hey, I trust you’re doing well. I would be grateful if you could block the first account I’ve reported here or evaluate the report. I have already created an LTA report, but it doesn’t currently seem to speed up the process in any way. The sock is basically benefitting from the huge SPI backlog, and I have zero doubts about this account. Thank you, Aintabli (talk) 06:19, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

I admit having unintentionally provoked User:M S Hassan while trying to remind him of the three-revert rule which had got him blocked. But maybe you could have used WP:PROVOKE as a reason for reverting my edit. I probably wanted to show whether I was well-versed in the rules of Wikipedia or not. Apologies. Kind reminder

First of all, thanks for responding on my talk page when I couldn't on my behalf. I really appreciate it. However, when you do, I politely ask that you use {{tpw}} or {{tps}} when you do, so other users can discern when I am responding and when someone else is responding on my behalf. (I have updated my editnotice too with a reminder to use these templates.) Thank you, though. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 21:24, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

I'll try to remember, but I don't make any promises. It's really not necessary: I sign my posts.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:28, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

Antonio Ferrara (criminal)

Hi, I'm just writing as I did the NPP review for this page before it was deleted per WP:G5. I remember it being a well written and sourced page. I'm just wondering, is there any way the page can be brought back? I checked WP:REVDEL but it seems the process does not apply here. Broc (talk) 08:40, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

REVDEL is irrelevant to page deletion - it addresses deletion of individual edits. The policy closest to this situation is WP:BANREVERT, meaning generally if an editor asks that a G5-deleted page be restored, usually it is. In this instance, my view is the article is reasonably written and sourced, but I'm not sure the person is sufficiently notable. There isn't much to it, really. He's a criminal...he escaped from prison. What about my restoring it to draft space? It looks like it could be beefed up based on the article at the French wikipedia: fr:Antonio Ferrara.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:40, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for replying. While the page was rather short, I saw the French Wikipedia entry and was convinced of the notability of the subject. I would agree to restoring it to draft space, I could expand it a little based on the French article. Broc (talk) 07:45, 25 May 2024 (UTC)

"Frivolous" Reports

Interesting to note you said "many of these reports you file are frivolous", and yet when I clicked on every report I made to AIV/UAA on the first and second page of my contribution history as a sample, only one was not blocked because it became stale (the one you declined was subsequently blocked by another admin). I then expanded my history to randomly click on reports and detected no obvious issues with my reporting.

I might have taken your comment if you had said it should have gone to UAA instead of AIV (although this has also been debated with many admins in the past). We can agree to disagree on that one report but respectfully your accusation does not quite standup to my editing history. Unless I am mistaken, I am also not aware of you bringing any concerns to my attention either on my or your talk page in the past.

The amount of spamming on this site (esp. stealth spamming as opposed to blatant spamming) has exploded exponentially over the past few years and yet good faith reports like mine appears to be read as I am the one that's the problem, which is rather bewildering. Admins like yourself are the reason why many long time editors are abandoning the project, and I am on the verge of retiring myself. Cahk (talk) 21:26, 25 May 2024 (UTC)

Apparent block evasion

Bbb23, can you please deal with 93.40.209.94, which is apparently being used to evade a recent block you applied to User:Arbe21 21? Their problematic edits in Epirus and Dorians are identical to those of the aforementioned user. Thanks in advance for your time. Demetrios1993 (talk) 07:04, 26 May 2024 (UTC)

Besides 93.40.209.94, now there is also User:Rakovic123hamzi, who was created less than an hour ago, just to restore the same problematic changes that were formerly attempted by User:Arbe21_21 and 93.40.209.94. Some form of page protection might also be warranted at this point. Demetrios1993 (talk) 08:20, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
I've blocked and tagged the named account as a sock. I've blocked the IP for one week for block evasion. Now they are blocked, I'm not comfortable protecting Epirus because I don't know if the edits by other IPs are disruptive. You can always request protection, though, at WP:RFPP. Dorians is a no-brainer; no protection is needed at this point.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:52, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for dealing with this. I should have elaborated that I was referring to Epirus when I suggested for page protection; indeed, Dorians hasn't suffered a similar scale of disruption. If it continuous, I will heed your advice and make a formal request via WP:RFPP. Epirus was actually a mess, following a mix of disruptive and constructive edits. I also don't know what to make of 46.99.251.6, who restored the same problematic versions (both in Epirus and Dorians), but geolocates to a different country than the blocked 93.40.209.94. The user's edits don't strike me as vandalism. Are they unreliably sourced? Hello, Bbb23,

I just wanted your opinion on a new editor, User:Zenon.Lach. I came across an article they PROD'd and I don't think they've been editing long enough to understand Wikipedia policy though they've racked up quite a lot of edits in a couple of weeks. But it's the comment on their User page that gave me pause, that made me think that they were a returning blocked editor. I know you don't have CU goggles but I hope you can offer me your spidey sense. Thanks for any opinion you can offer. Liz Read! Talk! 00:36, 28 May 2024 (UTC)

It is a PA

What purpose does it serve for you to reinstate a personal attack? I think it is very unfair of you especially because you reinstated it in your capacity as an admin. Lightburst (talk) 02:09, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

Bbb23, you restored my edit probably about one nanosecond before I tried to do the same.
Lightburst, I don't think I can access my edit summary without completely screwing up that page but here's my best recollection of what I said: "This edit contained no policy violations. To the contrary, it was made entirely as a good-faith effort to protect this site from the harm it'll suffer if you lose the right to contribute at RFA. If you want to discuss this somewhere else, let's, but an edit war here won't benefit either of us." City of Silver 02:36, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
We are on Bbb23's talk page because they reinstated your pa, but I do not expect a response from. Bbb23 do better. I struck all of my comments and will no longer participate in these pre-rfa discussions. SOS, you personally attacked me twice in the thread. I attacked no-one in that discussion and was only commenting on the candidate's 0-100 knowledge of the project. For your part, your comments were accusatory and sarcastic; you said things like Lightburst is "at it again" and "disrupting RFAs" and you called for my ouster for not providing diffs. It is clearly best if I just steer clear of vetting the candidates at RFA. I will simply vote without a rationale and if it gets no weight, that is fine. Also I encourage you to strike the comments yourself as I find them hurtful and provocative. Lightburst (talk) 03:00, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
Respectfully, I'm not convinced to strike because as I explained in the italic text in my previous message, I don't accept that anything I said was against any policy or guideline. I suspect Bbb23 will be most unimpressed to see this discussion continuing here so if (either of) you has anything more to say, let's take it to my talk page. City of Silver 03:27, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

I would delete it as an attack page just based on the infobox listing a victim with no conviction, saying he had stalked a woman in wiki-voice, the false charges in wiki-voice. It's TNT level shit. Voice of Clam, what did you see that looked like this should exist? It's not a public figure, and there's no conviction. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:13, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

Blocking me for edit warring would be an abuse of the admin tools. 3RR exemptions (and I'm not at 3RR anyway), "Removing contentious material that is libelous, biased, unsourced, or poorly sourced according to Wikipedia's biographies of living persons (BLP) policy. What counts as exempt under BLP can be controversial. Consider reporting to the BLP noticeboard instead of relying on this exemption.". No idea why BBB23 has no issue reinstating BLP violations and considers blocking the one that removes them, or how none of you seems to have any idea how to deal with things like this. Fram (talk) 15:12, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

@Fram: Disruptive editing by reapplying a declined speedy deletion tag is not the answer. What about WP:AFD? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:14, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
WP:BLP doesn't wait for AFD. Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—must be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion. Almost this entire article is a BLPvio. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:18, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
No, declining an A10 speedy without addressing the BLP violations in any way at all is not the answer. Please get your priorities straight and care first about the important issues instead of "oh no, someone reinstated a CSD tag, block them". Do you truly believe someone readding an A10 tag is worse than claiming someone is a murderer without them being convicted? Fram (talk) 15:19, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
(edit conflict) You're a good editor and one with whom I agree frequently. That said, you can be extraordinarily willful and edit Wikipedia as if you are the supreme commander of policy and what should and shouldn't be done. I reverted you simply because of the policy against retagging once a speedy has been declined. I'm bowing out of this and let other administrators more masochistic than I deal with you and "it".--Bbb23 (talk) 15:17, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
WP:AFD is the way to go on a declined CSD. But, I too lack sufficient masochism for this level of drama. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:19, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
I G10'd it, as the entire article was essentially about a non-public figure accused of a crime with accusations represented as fact in wiki-voice. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:21, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

This user is blocked as a sock of User:Swagotalaxmi Deb but cannot locate the actual SPI. Came here since you were the blocking admin. There is now user User:শ্রীমদ্ভগবদগীতা who has picked up where the other has left off. CNMall41 (talk) 16:52, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

There is no SPI. I've blocked and tagged the new account.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:13, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting my talk page message

Yeah, what the title says.

Appreciate it too...I don't think the user knows how to properly send warnings to other users on Wikipedia. GoodHue291 (talk) 19:04, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Reporting a User

Hey, i would like to bring to your attention the Yupsguts, the user is the suspected sockpuppet of Jha09 (talk+ · contribs · deleted contribs · tag · block user · block log · CheckUser). Take a look at the user contributions, the user is creating article Shehzad Sheikh, the lead actor of the show Mehndi Wala Ghar, which is deleted again and again due to sockpuppet creation and activity by Jha09. Also the user is editing Pandya Store , which was one of the main target pages of Jha09. Please take the required action. Imsaneikigai (talk) 20:13, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Jha09 has a huge number of deleted edits, and I haven't been able to find the Sheikh page that has been "deleted again and again". Do you have a link to it?--Bbb23 (talk) 20:26, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
Oh my bad, i meant Mehndi Wala Ghar article which was deleted again and again due to sockpuppets of Jha09 and this draft Draft:Shehzad Sheikh (Indian actor) is of the actor in the series which Yupsguts is drafting. Imsaneikigai (talk) 20:40, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi, on the off chance that you hadn't already noticed, User:Akalowtrippy and Apathetic132 are posting the same attack pages about someone who runs a games server, with accompanying doxing info. Thanks. Wikishovel (talk) 16:12, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Nope, you're the one who notices everything. Taken care of, thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:16, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

I'm sorry

@Ergzay harassing me and reverted my edits. i'm sorry. Rahio1234 12:44, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

You're the one who harassed me. You reverted my sandbox edits in the middle of my work on figuring out a bug with wikipedia. Further your edits all over wikipedia have repeatedly harassed other people with your incessant use of tools that you don't know how to use. Don't ping me on other people's talk pages. Misunderstanding on User talk:PickleMan500

Hello, Bbb23,

I think you misunderstood, I was not trying to post on the blocked user's talk page, I was just trying to remove the help me template because it's a waste of my time (I monitor the category too), and of others. Sorry though, my 9pm brain was trying to revert the help me edit and reverted the most recent one, which wasn't it. Sorry for any misunderstandings. Also, could you consider removing TPA for that user? They're just wasting the time of helpers like me. Thanks --- thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 13:59, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

No basis for removing TPA at this point.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:38, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

Please do not remove my comments This goes against Wikipedia policy. Please restore my comments. --evrik (talk) 17:20, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

You can restore your own comment, just don't re-order the chronology of other users' edits as you did.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:21, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
You've now deleted my comments twice. The one above, and this one. Now, I checked Wikipedia:TPO earlier, and I didn't see anything that said that moving the "delsort-notice" to the top of the discussion was disruptive. Now, you have twice removed my comments and accused my of disruptive editing. When I made the second edit where it would have been in the discussion. Since you are unhappy with what I did, I would appreciate you restoring my comments as they where in the discussion. Thanks. --evrik (talk) 02:58, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

I noticed an article I just wrote was previously deleted

Good day Bbb23, I just noticed an article I wrote about a comedian was previously deleted by you and I noticed it after i moved it to mainspace. Before I started writing the article I searched it to see if it was previously deleted or it was kept in a draft in the search area but i didn't see any, I noticed it was previously deleted through the New page Feeds. I'm asking for your permission if I would delete the article or you granting me permission to leave it. 75DD (talk) 14:43, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

UniBrill?

Would be interested in your opinion on this, thanks. Wikishovel (talk) 14:15, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

I thought about blocking on my own, but there are a couple of things about the user that made me reluctant. However, I think you should file a report at SPI and request a CU - there's certainly enough behavioral evidence to warrant a check.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:49, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

HI I dont know how to provide links in admins notice board on edit warring. Pls tell me how to do it after adding the template. just providing this diff diff diff we cant understand anything, where can we get links for diff diff diff?

Hate to say it Ustadeditor2011, but if you're so good at edit warring, maybe you can practice on your other skills. See Help:Diff while I have a look at what you're doing. Drmies (talk) 01:26, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
This template is very bad, how can some one get link on diff diff diff has to be provided. If you are that expert tell me instead of criticizing. There is no clue here Help:Diff from where to get url — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ustadeditor2011 (talkcontribs)
Mind your manners, Ustadeditor2011. You take the URL and put it in square brackets, like this: [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dehydroepiandrosterone&diff=prev&oldid=1220713136]. BTW that's the diff of one of your strange and unverified category edits about muscle things. Drmies (talk) 01:44, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi thanks but you were little late, I already figured out how to add. Check over there. I am SME in the muscle things, Ataluren is a muscle stabilizer it protects and stabilizes the muscle fibers in patients who lack dystrophin, the natural muscle stabilizer and protector.Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 01:51, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

About Deletion of an article

Hi,

The new page uploaded last time about a celebrity was deleted. Is there any reasons to it? Can you suggest me on how to re-write it accordingly? KannappaSara9 (talk) 13:15, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

Potential mistake in deleting TNT Music talk page

Hi there,

I noticed that you deleted the talk page for TNT Music due to it "being created by a blocked or banned user" (per G5). However, I wanted to clarify that I translated the page from the Russian Wikipedia (to the extent that I could) and created a talk page for it. If the page was deleted before, I did not see it; I just thought it would be a good idea to bring it over to the English Wikipedia. I think you deleted the page by accident or due to a misunderstanding, but please let me know if I'm wrong on this. Thank you! Losipov (talk) 02:11, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

You must be confusing something you did with some other page. The sock created Talk:TNT Music on June 8, and I deleted it on June 17. There is no earlier history.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:34, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
Yeah I realized I was mistaken after I posted this message; that's my bad. Just so you know, I created a new talk page for the article (to prevent any confusion on how or why it reappeared). Thanks again. Losipov (talk) 14:33, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Requesting undeletion

Hi @Bbb23, as you might recall during my indefinite block you had deleted an article titled like 'Monastery of Our Lady of Seeds' that I had created while I was, regrettably, block evading. I am placing this message inorder to request you its undeletion, if it is possible to do. If not can you please let me know if there is any way to access the content of that article? Regards. Logosx127 (talk) 09:01, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

This one: Monastery of Our Lady of the Seeds, Alqosh? Although not really relevant to your request, I find it disappointing that some of your conduct has been disruptive since being unblocked by Jpgordon in January after making many promises to improve your behavior, the most recent of which is your battle with Pbritti at WP:ANEW#User:Logosx127 reported by User:Pbritti (Result: ).--Bbb23 (talk) 13:17, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Yes. Exactly that is the one. Meanwhile about my interactions with Pbritti, as you can see I have explained about it in detail there. As you can see it was just a issue of an addition of a name, actually a longer version of the original one, in the infobox. That dispute could have been easily solved with a third opinion but, unfortunately, the adversary thought it is better to have me blocked instead so that there will be no more discussions needed. Logosx127 (talk) 13:26, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Pbritti is not an "adversary". The fact that you view content disputes that way is a problem in and of itself. As far as I can tell, you unilaterally changed the name in the infobox and should have followed WP:BRD when it was challenged by Pbritti. Instead, you edit-warred over it. It's true that you and Pbritti have been discussing the dispute, although not very civilly, on the article Talk page, but it was your burden to use another form of dispute resolution if the Talk page discussion could not resolve the dispute. I suggest you self-revert your latest change and do that now.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:43, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
By using the term 'adversary', I didn't mean it in a sense of 'opponent', but simply 'the opposite side' of the dispute. I think there's more of a language gap here. Meanwhile I was thinking of restoring the status quo ante too. With this being said, I can't help but say that Pbritti has repeatedly demonstrated article ownership behaviour along with non-cooperative attitude and attempts to misread and manipulate the content of the sources that I provided. While the bylaws (canons) of the institution (Syro-Malabar Church) clearly say 74 times the title Syro-Malabar Major Archiepiscopal Church. Still Pbritti cannot agree with me when I add it in the infobox. Removing unsourced content is justified but clearly this is not the case here.Logosx127 (talk) 14:41, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

At this point I must inform you that this talk has diverted from the original subject. So, what about my original request? Logosx127 (talk) 14:41, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for self-reverting at Syro-Malabar Church. I just noticed that I did not delete Monastery of Our Lady of the Seeds, Alqosh; it was deleted by JBW - any objection to my restoring it, JBW?--Bbb23 (talk) 15:04, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
I'm perfectly happy to let you make your own decision, Bbb23. Since the deletion was just because of block evasion, if the editor is now legitimately unblocked I don't see any compelling reason to keep it deleted. JBW (talk) 20:49, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, I've undeleted it.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:56, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, Bbb23 and @JBW Logosx127 (talk) 00:17, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

I'm not sure what to say or do, as I've butted heads with this editor a lot and I don't want to anymore. However, after I reverted yet another change they made (this time to Eastern Catholic Churches), they said every reliable source that disagreed with them was citogenesis and then added their changes back to not only that article, but also two others. What can I do? Also, apologies that this is taking place on your user talk page, but it seems to be the fastest way to get someone to notice. ~ Pbritti (talk) 13:36, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

In this particular instance, you could take the issue to WP:RSN. I don't know how often you're finding yourself at odds with Logosx127, but if you think their overall conduct warrants sanctions, you'd have to take them to WP:ANI. The question is are you willing to put up with the ensuing drama, especially if you bring Logosx127's history into the complaint (as you did at ANEW), which some might see as poisoning the well.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:49, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
Your insight is appreciated and I'll consider the options. If they revert again on Eastern Catholic Churches without consensus for such a change, should I repost in ANEW (sans mention of prior history)? ~ Pbritti (talk) 13:57, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
Depends on whether there's a violation of 3RR or you're reporting a slow edit war, which is always a bigger problem at ANEW. Also, if you're the one who reverts them each time, you may be sanctioned as well.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:00, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

The problem is that Pbritti is not trying to read the sources that I add along with the my edits. Instead, they tend to revert everything and remove even the reliable sources see this. They have been constantly and blindly assuming bad faith and that's exactly why there is frequent edit conflicts. As you can see, I have never went after Pbritti's edits, but instead, it was always Pbritti who always tends to do so whenever I edit. When a dispute erupts, they disregard the sources that I provide. They keep assuming bad faith in me, stalk me wherever I edit and always carry the 'rope' just in order to strangle me in case I continue to hesitate in hanging myself. This behavior is also evident against other users who tend to edit these articles, exhibiting sort of article ownership. Logosx127 (talk) 16:34, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Category:Beirut in the Israel-Hamas War or Category:Shootings in 2024

Hello, Bbb23,

Just a reminder, some of Azavaza's category creations, like these two, were populated and that means that they are not subject to CSD G5 (just like transcluded templates) (see WP:G5: G5 should not be applied to transcluded templates or populated categories unless they have been transcluded or populated entirely by the banned or blocked user; these edits need to be reverted before deletion). Deleting populated categories leaves red link categories which are not permitted. Could you check the categories and empty them before deletion? Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:42, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

I usually do, but this time I just spot-checked a few because they were so numerous (I did a mass delete).--Bbb23 (talk) 22:04, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Congrats! I'm still struggling to understand why two experienced editors responded to the IP rather than just reverting the thing.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:33, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
People who are not as jaded as you and I are will often default to "clueless newbie" instead of "troll". Which we're probably supposed to do too, except I know Drmies has a history of being harassed, and maybe they don't. Floquenbeam (talk) 13:37, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
In some instances I can understand that reaction, even if I disagree with it, but here the IP hadn't edited anything except AN, and if they wanted to ask Drmies a question, why not go to his Talk page? And the kind of question - why would anyone, including an IP, ask a technical question of Drmies? I mean, why did the IP even pick Drmies? Sorry, but in this case, trolling/disruption/harassment (whatever you want to call it) is obvious, even to the AGF crowd.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:43, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
Oops, I forgot, Drmies's Talk page is protected. Some people object to semi-protection of admin Talk pages, and good old (sorry for the pun) Drmies pushes the envelope with EC protection. :-) --Bbb23 (talk) 13:51, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
I do like the undertone of "why would anyone, including an IP, ask a technical question of Drmies". I imagine that question in your most incredulous voice. heh. Floquenbeam (talk) 13:55, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) Ah, tryna go back to the infamous monkey scene in Toy Story 3? SCREECH!!! (cymbal clangs) NoobThreePointOh (talk) 16:07, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

Floquenbeam, I feel like "why would anyone, including an IP, ask a technical question of Drmies?" is harassment. I mean, it's a valid question, but it's kind of mean. Also, can you help me log into Hulu? The Dutch are playing today. Drmies (talk) 12:57, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

@Drmies: Bbb23 said it, not me. Would you like me to block him for personal attacks and harrassment? Also, I do actually know how to log into Hulu: Step 1. Hand remote to a nearby kid. Step 2. Ask them to do it. Floquenbeam (talk) 13:58, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Floquenbeam, of course I want you to block him. Drmies (talk) 15:26, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
@Floquenbeam Um... I don't think that's how it would work since the kid might not know the username or password. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:01, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Silly Noob. Kids somehow always know ways around it. They are way more techno-competent than Drmies or me. Indeed, it's one of the few actual benefits of kids. They're cute as babies; they can help with technical stuff when they're older; they can provide grandchildren. Everything else is pretty much on the "debit" side of the ledger. Floquenbeam (talk) 14:09, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
@Floquenbeam When I think about it, it's super easy to hack into a computer. The process? Just hold Shift while selecting Restart to boot into UEFI. For TVs, I'm not so sure as I've never experimented with that type of technology. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:14, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
I have no idea what you just said. You must be a kid! Can you please log into Hulu for Drmies? Floquenbeam (talk) 14:15, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Floquenbeam, same here. My son talks that way. So does my Canvas instructor. Just discovered Canvas has a page called "Badges" which apparently is like reward stickers. We don't need no stinking badges! Drmies (talk) 15:26, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Me, a kid? Nonsense! I'm an adult, but definitely don't know the credentials. Hey Doc, does Rosie know how to log in? NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:29, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Ahem, you are an adult, or you wouldn't be suggesting that a child would know about Hulu. That's like network television and boring stuff like that; they do Netflix because it has the Avatar. NICTON t’s block

Hi Bbb, I don’t understand your NOTHERE block of NICTON t. Their outburst about Doug Weller is certainly weird and a waste of time, but do you really believe this person can’t possibly have anything to contribute to the project? Their behavior seems to me like that of an overzealous, trigger-happy newbie who doesn’t yet understand how to interpret standard template warnings and communications on Wikipedia. I remember when I started editing I thought every CTOP alert I got was a passive-aggressive flick. But I picked it up, and the odds of me raising a similarly baseless complaint to NICTON t’s at ANI went from nonzero to zero. Would you consider amending their indef block to something shorter or more targeted? Zanahary 02:05, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

Adelsoft

If you examine their user talk page on the Persian Wikipedia (I used Google Translate) you will see that their interactions there are similar to those here. I have also found wikiversity:Adel shirazy, which I have asked to be deleted as out of scope. I see a determined attempt at (probable self)-promotion. You view may differ. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 11:46, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

Looking at their global contributions, I wonder whether the threshold has been reached for global locks for spamming/advertising. I hesitate to request such a stringent measure without a second opinion. I am pretty sure they are Shirazy, or are paid by Shirazy. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 11:54, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Further research has shown the extent of cross wiki spamming. I have made the request to the stewards. They are wiser than I am so will decide what is appropriate. Related to this editor and person, please may I have your opinion on the following:
  • This website has a wikipedia logo at its foot
  • Clicking that logo leads to https://wiki.sts.ir/Adel_Shirazy.html which purports to be a WMF site
  • While it has most of the lookj and feel of a Wikipedia, that is incomplete, thus I feel it may be "Passing an Off" as a true WMF site. I am aware that any text on a real WMF site is able to be used under the the CC BY-SA 4.0 License and GFDL, but WMF may have technical reasons for objecting
I have no idea where to go with this information. I'm asking you because I trust your opinions. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 10:33, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

Potential sock farm

Hi Bbb23. You blocked Richweller10 recently for spamming... I am certain that they're the latest sock in a group I reported at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/DannyEddy20. Every one of them has edited about this "Concordium" cryptocurrency company. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 20:58, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

Article for the Bulgarian domain register

I saw that my article about the Bulgarian top-level domain registry "Register.BG" has been deleted. The reason given is that the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly state how or why the topic is important or significant. My desire was to create an article about the 20-year history of the organization, which has actively participated in the development of the Internet in Bulgaria. For the country of Bulgaria this is very important topic and has a significance for the Bulgarian community. It is a history that is important to preserve and make available to the public. Any help from you on how to get the article published would be greatly appreciated. The article is saved in my profile page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Nickpetersen2023/Register.BG I tried to publish the article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Register.BG Please help me !!! Nickpetersen2023 (talk) 10:18, 5 July 2024 (UTC)

Help you how? The page was not ready for article space and was deleted accordingly. You still have it in your userspace. I suggest you move it to draft space and go through the WP:AFC process where experienced reviewers can give you feedback.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:23, 5 July 2024 (UTC)

A little question

Hey, I've looked at your edits. I am not a sockpuppet of any account whatsoever, I just want to get into editing Wikipedia. Normanhunter2 (talk) 22:08, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Hey, I looked at your edits. I am a sockpuppet of many accounts altogether, I just want to get into editing Wikipedia by repeatedly evading my block in blazingly obvious fashion. (fixed it)-- Ponyobons mots 22:25, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
Thanks! I wish it had been "blazingly obvious" to me. I almost came to you in the first instance, but I thought you might not want to stick around. Just curious: did Norman's post here attract your attention or something else?--Bbb23 (talk) 22:58, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
Ponyo, lucky you, you've given me time to come up with another question: did you recognize the account behaviorally?--Bbb23 (talk) 17:21, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
I recognized the behaviour in general, not specific to the master though. -- Ponyobons mots 17:23, 5 July 2024 (UTC)

Confusing revert

Why did you do this? The template documentation says to use it if someone has been gone for 3+ months and someone may plausibly post to that person's talk page looking for a response. Sure enough, you wrote exactly that: "He hasn't been here for three months, so he may not respond". Why remove the template? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 00:34, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Because of the language that the template generates about "leaving Wikipedia". Drop it.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:35, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
Per the template, parameter 1 could have any arbitrary text. Do you have a proposal of what language would be better? Or after x period of not editing you would stop reverting adding the template? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 00:37, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
Courcelles is a long-term administrator and functionary. This is not the first extended break they've taken. If they choose to announce their break, as some do, that's their business, but it's not your job to do it for them. My last response.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:46, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Sock

Just by looking at Special:Contributions/ItsCruelSummer reverting your edits, they're definitely disruptive. I've reverted them. Also, they made an unblock request. Myrealnamm (💬pros · ✏️cons) 15:42, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Possible sock

You recently blocked User:CltzC. Before he was blocked, he vandalized my user page, so it seems he has a grudge against me. Now a freshly created account with no prior edits has shown up and left the comment "Karma is bad." on my talk page. I can only assume this is the same person. I'm not sure how to proceed. Do I need to go to SPI or can you handle this? Un assiolo (talk) 20:40, 7 July 2024 (UTC)

I blocked the new user and noted in the block log that they were a possible sock of CltzC. If you want more, i.e., confirmation that they are a sock and, if so, to look for others, file a report at SPI and request a CU. If there's more of this, feel free to alert me here.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:27, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. I don't think a CU will be necessary unless something new happens. --Un assiolo (talk) 21:31, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
One thing I forgot to do was to look at the edit filter log of the new account, which I did just now. I thought I had only one edit to go on, which is always dicey without technical corroboration. The edit filter log, though, is much more convincing that the new account is a sock. I still agree with you, though, let's wait and see if it stops.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:34, 7 July 2024 (UTC)

Sanguinity

Hey, I wanted to ask away from that user's talk page. Do you just mean you think it's likely they won't agree? Or likely they'll agree but won't be able to keep the promise? Or I'm being too harsh? Or too lenient? I'm a little unclear, and since I'm toying with trying something similar with other blocked users of this type (i.e. saying all the right things, but unlikely to actually be unblocked by anyone ever) I'd love some feedback. Floquenbeam (talk) 14:48, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

None of the above. :-) I'm just generally against unblocking users if the only way to prevent them from being disruptive is to impose sweeping restrictions. Why saddle ourselves with a crippled user? I see this sort of thing at the noticeboards occasionally where instead of blocking a user, the community imposes multiple bans. And that's not to mention the fact, depending on the restrictions, it's tough for the user to keep track of what they can and can't do. They'd have to set up a floq flowchart and check it before every edit they make.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:01, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
OK, I see. Well, you gave the go-ahead in this particular case, and they just accepted, so I guess this will be an experiment. But I do understand your concerns. I'll try to keep a close eye out to minimize disruption for others. My main thought here, without spending too much time explaining myself, is that at any one time we have dozens of blocked editors in CAT:UNBLOCK who compose perfectly-worded unblock requests, but no one believes them. I completely agree with bringing down the banhammer early, but for a new user, they're kind of in a Catch-22. Just trying to experiment with ways to break that logjam. Thanks for the feedback and the grudging ok. Floquenbeam (talk) 15:08, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
Not a "grudging" okay, just one replete with skepticism.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:24, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

User:RadioActive66/sandbox

I don't think User:RadioActive66/sandbox should be deleted. It's a userspace draft and could probably become an articlespace article. Vladislav Blazhevich already exists, but the text in the userspace draft could be merged into the existing article. LeapTorchGear (talk) 16:43, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi Bbb23, you had recently undid the edit made by M S Hasan who nominated the page Naveen Pandita for speedy deletion. He has now redirected the page to a drama named Pushpa Impossible. However, I believe there was no need to redirect the page and there were enough reasons to keep a separate page for Naveen Pandita. Kindly have a look at it. Thank you! Nothing. I don't know who this person is. But, a few days ago he wrote a comment on the talk page of Naveen Pandita. Dimitrimascarenhas (talk) 15:31, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

What do you mean?

My article, Eduard Elbogen moved to Draft:Eduard Elbogen, is based on the book of Th. Venus - supplemented with 33 citations from reliable, independent sources. Which one are you missing? --Virtualiter (talk) 11:09, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the script used for moving articles to draft puts a canned notice on the author's Talk page about sources, even if it's moved for other reasons. I moved it because I thought the article needed a lot more work before being in article space. To be honest, I don't remember how I even ran across the article. I suggest you submit the draft through WP:AFC and an experienced reviewer will give you feedback or move it back to article space themself if they disagree with my decision.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:56, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
You didn't come across the article because you quickly deleted my article on "Emil Kahane" seconds before - while I had just asked an experienced user to take a look. Or is it moved for other reasons?
Now specifically: What kind of "a lot more work" does Eduard Elbogen need, being in article space?
I'm keen to learn more. --Virtualiter (talk) 20:28, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
Ah, that explains how I came across the Elbogen article. As for my view, generally I think the article is WP:UNDUE with way too much not-noteworthy detail. It needs a lot of trimming and editing. Despite the sources, there are some parts that are unsourced, but personally I wouldn't worry about sourcing until after it is substantially trimmed. As I said, I recommend using WP:AFC for the draft because the people who review articles have far more experience in that area than I do, but policy-wise, nothing prevents you from moving the draft back to article space on your own. Some editors consider that disruptive, but technically it is not, and in this instance, I would not find it so. Your decision.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:37, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

Why did you remove your Dheerendra Singram article?ee

That article was remarkable, it is the article of a living person which is verified. You have removed it without any reason, please restore it. Chutiya1 (talk) 01:57, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Remove what?

I noticed your edit as I was looking through Special:NewPages/User, and I'm pretty confused. That's the first entry in the page's history, and there's nothing in its log either. The user has no contributions, no logged actions, and no filtered edits. What did you mean by remove what would be a U5? jlwoodwa (talk) 02:54, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

The user has one edit on Meta, which was to create a userpage; you can see it if you wish. The user set up the userpage so that it was displayed on en.wiki. They don't have to edit at en.wiki to do that. Frankly, I'm not sure how it's done, but it's not important. Another user can edit the userpage at Meta but it cannot be edited anywhere else. Sort of like a transclusion I suppose. However, you can create a "local" userpage on en.wiki, which is what I did and I made it blank. In my view the text of the page qualified for WP:U5, which is the reason for my edit summary.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:17, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

DivineWave

Hi Bbb23, thank you for dealing with @DivineWave. As you may have seen, I have taken at face value their assertion of being a long-time editor who happened to have switched to a new mobile device and thus had to create a new account. My request to disclose their previous account remained unanswered. Now, WP:SOCKLEGIT says that "Alternative accounts should always be identified as such on their user pages, unless where doing so would defeat the point of the account". Obviously, simply changing one's device doesn't meet the latter condition. Is it actionable then if an editor refuses to disclose the older account? Just curious (without prejudice). Austronesier (talk) 19:41, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

It's not "actionable".--Bbb23 (talk) 21:20, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Justification for Edits on Mawj Aldarraji Article

Hello @Bbb23

I wanted to provide a detailed explanation for my recent edits to the Mawj Aldarraji article, as you requested. The primary reason for my edits was to address the significant amount of unreliable and unverifiable content present in the article. Here are the specific reasons for the changes I made:

  1. Unreliable Sources: A significant portion of the article (approximately 90%) was sourced from unknown YouTube videos, Facebook posts, or citations that were no longer working. According to Wikipedia's guidelines, content must be verifiable and come from reliable sources. Social media and unreliable videos do not meet these standards.
  2. Verifiability: The information in the article must be supported by reputable sources to ensure accuracy and reliability. Removing content without verifiable citations is essential to maintaining the integrity of the information on Wikipedia.
  3. Relevance and Clarity: Some of the content and images I removed did not contribute to the article's subject matter and were not relevant to the overall narrative. Ensuring that all included information is pertinent helps maintain a clear and focused article.
  4. Compliance with Guidelines: My edits were made in an effort to bring the article in line with Wikipedia's content guidelines. This includes ensuring all claims are backed by reliable sources and that the article maintains a neutral and factual tone.

I understand the importance of consensus and collaboration on Wikipedia, and I am open to discussing these changes further to reach a mutual understanding. I have this article under my watchlist and will not let anyone add content with Facebook Posts or other unreliable sources as Citations. Here an explanation of my edits under the talk page of Mawj Aldarraji. Lustigermutiger21 (talk) 08:02, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

Gatekeeper of Arslan

I've been watching the digital footprints of @Erich rommel for two days and I am certain that he is a sockpuppet of the previously blocked user @Heinz guderian123. Both Heinz and his sockpuppet @Roberto walker1453 are obsessed with the word 'Arslan' and are attempting to portray this Turkish word as Persian

You can see the same patterns. Both of these account are not capable of speaking basic English. Instead they use Turkish for summaries. Please see: [1] [2]

Now let's get the Erich Romel. He has been vandalising the "Arslan" page as an IP user for some time. You can see the IP revisions are disruptive, misleading and IP used same Turkish explanations just as Roberto and Heniz did. Please see [3]

Just after few weeks, the account of "Erich Romel" appeard and he started to keep this "unknown IP" user's revisions. Romel also keep the revision of Roberto Walker in page of il Arslan.[4]

He is using misleading summaries, distruptively changing pages, using multiple sockpuppet. At this point we can also agree this is a single purpose account. Onoghuren (talk) 14:14, 24 July 2024 (UTC)

"apparent crusade to delete Korean writers"

Hi Bbb23, I'm not seeking to delete Korean writers per se, but I have been scrutinizing the many pages created by Special:Contributions/Jparker0721, which are by and large essay-like and questionably sourced. The minority of those articles which don't appear to meet the notability/significance threshold, I tagged for deletion. Risedemise (talk) 18:14, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

Deletion of NLDC page

Not sure why this page was deleted, when WP:SIGNIF clearly states that 'If the references within the article discuss the subject or provide a possible claim of significance', then 'the A7, A9 and A11 tags should not be applied'. Please don't nominate pages for SD without checking for this (I see you did the same with Deep Tempo) KitDaCatsun (talk) 14:26, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

You mean "references" to Instagram, Soundcloud and YouTube, including a donation link? No, that's not a credible claim of significance.Acroterion (talk) 14:31, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
@Acroterion Why not? KitDaCatsun (talk) 14:41, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
They're not independent sources with editorial oversight and a reputation for fact-checking. Please read WP:RS for more. Self-generated and user-generated content isn't acceptable for sourcing much of anything on Wikipedia. To establish notability, a subject has to already have been noticed by significant independent coverage. See {WP:NOTE. Publicity campaigns and promotion don't count. Acroterion (talk) 15:39, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
Personally I can't think of a better source for someone receiving donations than a donation link, or hosting mixes than a link to their hosted mixes. KitDaCatsun (talk) 15:44, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia doesn't host fundraising campaigns (apart from its own) for any reason. But you're missing the point, the entire notability of the event is unsupported. Mere existence isn't sufficient. Acroterion (talk) 17:08, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
"Wikipedia doesn't host fundraising campaigns (apart from its own) for any reason": I'm confused where I suggested that this was the case. Are you suggesting that stating that someone is hosting a fundraising campaign is the same as hosting one yourself? If so I think a few charities' articles might need your attention.
If you won't accept it in its current state, it would be helpful if it could be moved to draft or user space so I can improve it. KitDaCatsun (talk) 17:14, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
Don't link to fundraising campaigns for any reason; that should not be a startling requirement. Draftspace is available if you can show that there is some kind of evidence that there has been substantial notice in reliable sources (you have read WP:RS and WP:NOTE by now, haven't you?), it's not a permanent home for non-notable topics. Sock

Hi there. I think blocked user A. Landmesser is back as user Totaltruthfullness. SLBedit (talk) 12:35, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

Either file a report at SPI or at least present some evidence here.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:03, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

Deletion request

Hi Bbb23, I just discovered a draft (Draft:Stresser Mountain Club) that was written in Indonesian and the subject (club) was not notable enough to be included to Wikipedia. Can you delete this draft immediately? Faldi00 (talk) 16:23, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

You really shouldn't be doing this. Whpq declined both your tags, correctly, in my view. That said, I think the draft qualifies for WP:G11 (not a tag you used), so I've tagged it myself.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:59, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

SPI

This was an odd decision. It's clear block evasion from a long-term talk page troll. What difference does it make if it's only one comment? (By the way, it's not just one - as is evident from the other IPs I posted.) — Czello (music) 15:51, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

And now it continues [33]Czello (music) 17:43, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
Well, that's twice as many edits as before. :p I've blocked the IP for 6 months. No doubt they'll hop to another IP. In case you didn't notice, another admin deleted the SPI itself.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:56, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. — Czello (music) 19:01, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

Check this out

Asking you to please check this out, has gone on for far too long where this user has been reverted by me and another editor for baseless additions for first removing sources (especially under false edit summaries such as "SEE:WPINDICTSCRIPT"), and then claiming he is cooperating by then tagging the sources as unreliable without actually going to the talk page per WP:ONUS to explain why. Me and another editor, @User:Someguywhosbored have constantly reverted his edits only for him to readd it.

I made an ANI incident thread but the evidence there is what's just there, if you look at the pages theres a plethora more revisions. Here is the thread: [34]

I have also opened two RFPP's. [35] [36].

The pages being disrupted: Alauddin Husain Shah and Hussain Shahi dynasty. Noorullah (talk) 18:09, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

Other than their silly insistence on using italics, I don't feel that I understand the merits of the problem well enough to be helpful.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:14, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
The issue is that despite being hounded to use the talk page, he’s been actively engaged an edit warring and disruption. If it was just a simple disagreement, it would have been fine, just needs to be hashed out on the talk page. But the user refuses to explain his reasoning behind marking certain sources as unreliable. He’s just pushing his viewpoint without trying to find a solution or compromise. Someguywhosbored (talk) 18:37, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

Thoughts please?

Hi! When I saw Vilnae created this with old maintenance templates, the ongoing CIR flags with this user went red. I ran this, which seemed too close for comfort. Any thoughts since you blocked the first? Also @Hammersoft, ToBeFree, Rosguill, and Yamla: who have declined the current account's many unblock requests. Vilnae seems to have a desperation to edit, and just lacks the English language competency to edit here, but I didn't suspect socking until now. Not sure there's enough for an SPI so more thought gathering. Thanks either way! Star Mississippi 12:53, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

Unfortunately, Burma Naing is stale. They look very similar behaviorally, although AFAICT Burma Naing always used a mobile platform, whereas Vilnae never did.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:31, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, as always. Star Mississippi 01:35, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

Gggggg

Thanks for blocking the Ggg... 45 user just now.

I wondered if they might be connected to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Nizam Alif/Archive, what do you think? They have that single-letter edit note thing in common with Mi Mi Game, and looks like both are from Indonesia... although, so are another ¼ bn people, of course. I don't want to burden SPI if you don't think there's a possible connection or otherwise don't see any point. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:51, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

The latter, I don't see any point. The whole thing's kinda weird, and from an en.wiki perspective it's not like we're dealing with the reincarnation of an LTA. Finally, as you say, SPI is hopelessly backlogged. Thanks for asking.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:47, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Glad I asked. :) -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:30, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

Discussion at User talk:Kuru § Draftification of WestNet Inc.

You are invited to join the discussion at User talk:Kuru § Draftification of WestNet Inc.. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:40, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi Bbb23. I'm just letting you know about this as a courtesy because you previously deleted on article by the same name per G11 on June 22, 2024. I wasn't aware of that when I draftified this latest attempt and can tell whether the it's just another recreation. If it is just another recreation, it seems like the creator has received enough warnings already and might warrant additional sanctions. The multiple refund requests by various IPs and other newly created accounts like this on Explicit's user talk (that's how I noticed WestNet Inc.) over the past month or so seem to indicate that the attempts at recreation are likely to continue, and there might also be some MEAT/SOCK issues. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:55, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

Restoring a deleted article from a sock

Hi. You deleted the article: Taberon Honie under G5 because it was created by a sock account. I do think though that the article is about a notable subject and should be on Wikipedia. Is it possible to restore the article as it was when you deleted it and allow me to make some changes to it so it can be re published please? Not sure what the protocol is for this. Thanks. Inexpiable (talk) 08:28, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

I've restored the article and its talk page. You published it before it was deleted, so I saw no need for it to go through all that again. For the future, your "protocol" is fine.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:45, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

August 2024

Greetings, Bbb23. I hope you are doing well. I recognized that you protected the subject while I was creating an article for Jean Paul Laurent. Here is its draft, I would like to know if they are on same person. If yes, I would request the removing of protection. Happy editing! 12eeWikiUser (talk) 08:37, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

Rollbacks

Why did you roll back all my edits? In the two railway subjects most of my edits were just rearranging information to try and make them clearer and use terminology that is more commonly used on railways. In addition I actually read the sources and rewrote the sections in line with the source. Lastly I used infomation from other Wikipedia pages with links to expand the articles a little.

With croquet I answered the call for an expanded introduction, using information found in the rest of the article.

If there were no sources you can put that down to the original editors. Corythaeola (talk) 16:06, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for this deletion. This user is a cross-wiki highly disruptive abuser and is to be blocked in every way possible, as of now he's continuing to vandalize in his own talk page. Cosma Seini (talk) 17:47, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

Tracey Emin Foundation

Hello, you deleted my article because you deemed it 'advertising'. I had edited in the same style as other similar organisations and it is in no way advertisng. its a charitbale art school. I would like the opportunity to resubmit my edits, please. Alexmargate (talk) 13:55, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

Suspected sock

FYI the page history of Mister Belgium Personality points to a possible fresh sock. You and another administrator have already blocked two pageant SPAs that have been there. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:59, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

@Bri: Beyond the creation of the article (the history is in the draft, not the article) and just generally the topic area, I'm having trouble finding evidence strong enough for me to block. Therefore, if you believe there is enough evidence, you should take this to SPI with diffs supporting your beliefs. As an aside, I'm surprised the user hasn't been blocked for their username.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:43, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

WOW

It flew completely over my head that Claudio di Roma was a sock of JamesOredan/Venezia Friulano 'cause he was going around removing sourceless things introduced by James Oredan/Venezia Friulano and I even avised him to be aware of him. He was however acting very weird and he was such a biased anti-Spanish user (basically the opposite of Spanish chauvinistic user James/Venezia) that I had to revert him twice for being a biased anti-Spanish extremist. I don't even get the point of doing that, except he was probably not expecting that I was going to be principled on the matter...so I think Claudio di Roma is the distorted image JamesOredan/Venezia Friulano has of me and he was setting that account up to accuse me of using socks. Otherwise it was just weird, pure trolling, creating flames for fun? I don't know which of the two it is. Still, that's really incredible. Now that's new. Thank you, cause really I had NO idea. Well,

I certainly hope they "desert this website forever". 😜. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 13:09, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
