Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.

Disambiguation link notification for February 13
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ferguson Ridge, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pioneer. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

editCareful when editing
editI see that you are working on some of the Television Project maintenance categories. Please be careful when editing to make sure that you do not make invalid edits as those may be considered disruptive. One of your recent edits removed the title parameter of a citation template, which is a valid (and important) parameter. ButlerBlog (talk) 12:58, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the suggestion. Will be careful while editing. Ensconce (talk) 15:05, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- Since I ended up coming across a couple of other edits by you, I reviewed some of your previous edits. A couple of other suggestions to note: First, as someone else already noted above on your talk page, don't overlink place names. But second, the opposite is true - don't just remove red links because they are red links. I noticed a lot of your edits removing red links for "readability". Readability is important in Wikipedia, but so is knowing where there is need to expand new articles. Red links are one way that we do that. Only remove a red link if it is something that wouldn't meet notability standards of Wikipedia (see: WP:NOTE), but don't remove it just because it's a red link. Does that make sense? Another suggestion was that on your early edits, you were doing a lot of individual edits on a single page that were the same - one such example was capitalizing words. Each was done as a single edit. These should have been combined in a single edit rather than 20 or so individual edits. Lastly, when responding on talk pages, use the ":" notation to indent. This means you are responding to the existing thread and not starting a new discussion. Note how I applied this to your response, and then my next response was a double "::" indent. These are all suggestions just to help you along the way, so I hope you take them in the spirit in which they are intended - to help you. Thanks! ButlerBlog (talk) 15:23, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

- @Atlantic306: Thanks for your suggestions. I have added some other references apart from Times of India. It will be really helpful if you review the article once so that we can decide whether the tag can be removed or not. Ensconce (talk) 05:54, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
Removal of name parameter in use of infobox television
editHi! I noticed in your recent edits you've been removing instances of the |name=
parameter of {{infobox television}} where the parameter value matches the article title. I'm not sure that these edits are an improvement. The template documentation states that the parameter Need not be used if the name is the same as the article title as the infobox handles this automatically
but it doesn't say that it shouldn't be used. This sounds to me like a matter of convenience rather than a recommendation. When I previewed the article Hey Lady! with and without the parameter name, the Parser profiling data (at the bottom of the preview page) always showed significantly higher values for CPU and LUA time usage, which I believe indicates a higher server load for the version not using the |name=
parameter.
Am I missing something? Is there a reason for your edits? I've also expressed my concerns at Template talk:Infobox television#Bot needed. – Reidgreg (talk) 13:00, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @Reidgreg,
- These edits are part of Maintenance category under WikiProject_Television project. The main aim of these edits are to reduce total number of wiki pages under maintenance category Category:Pages using infobox television with unnecessary name parameter .
- With regards to your point The template documentation states that the parameter Need not be used if the name is the same as the article title as the infobox handles this automatically but it doesn't say that it shouldn't be used, I do agree with your point that there is no hard rule set to not use the name parameter in infobox television section but these edits were done because the maintenance category page clearly states that Usages should be removed as the infobox already performs this task automatically. Hence as part of maintenance activity, these edits are being done.
- With regards to higher values for CPU and LUA time usage, I do not have sufficient information and hence I cannot mention any statements regarding increase of time usage. Ensconce (talk) 13:36, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- I hear you and I believe you're acting in good faith. Ultimately, we're each responsible for our own edits. If edits like this could be done automatically, there'd be a bot to do it, which led to the discussion now underway. I would note that a maintenance category isn't a policy or guideline. Any editor can create a maintenance category, or edit the category's instructions, and they may not have community consensus for doing so. (The same goes for templates and their documentation.) I'm going to pursue discussion at the infobox television talk page. I'd suggest you hold further editing on the maintenance category until this is resolved, which might take a couple weeks or so (longer if a formal RfC is called). BTW, even if these edits end up being changed back, this bold action was probably a good thing because it attracted the attention of more editors, allowing for a broader discussion of the issues involved. Thanks for your time and efforts, and happy editing! – Reidgreg (talk) 14:39, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
