- If anything, I think there is too much content included from that source. But the subject is clearly notable and several sources are used. I'm not really sure what the issie your having is. Feel free to make any improvements to the article you think are warranted. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:38, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry this is heavy-handed, as I am figuring out how to use AFC as a reviewer, and trying to sort out what to draw the line on or not. I don't really care, but I pointed out that you just put in a placeholder reference to the NRHP document with no link to the actual NRHP docuemnt, instead of copy-pasting the fully-formed one with links to document, with author, date of preparation, etc., which I assume you saw at the Arctic Building article. I don't get why you would put in such a crummy version of reference. I have the impression you have been criticized for using bare URLs as references before. This is like that. I am not sure if it is quite proper for an AFC reviewer to draw a line about referencing quality like I am doing, but here we are, oh well. Please put in the higher quality NRHP reference. And provide a footnote for your birth and death dates, I also raised that. --Doncram (talk) 22:49, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- I included the link when it was pointed out to me that I had left ot out and I included exactly the same information I saw noted in the external link where it was included in the article, weirdly named Arctic Building, you pointed out. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:56, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- The NRHP reference should be moved inline in that article by I'm tentative to make many changes as I've been attacked so often. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:59, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- Okay I see now that you did make a change and put in a link to a version of the NRHP document, in your reference which is exactly this:

<ref name=nrhp>[https://web.archive.org/web/20120218025437/https://fortress.wa.gov/dahp/wisaard/documents/RN/0/1/1068.pdf The Arctic Building, National Register Nomination Form], 1978</ref>
- The fact that you improved it is making my request silly and obtuse maybe, but what I want is for you to put in the full NRHP reference that is in the Arctic Building article, with authors and linked photos and more, i.e. the following:
<ref name="nrhpdoc">{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=78002749}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Arctic Building |publisher=[[National Park Service]]|author=Lawrence Kreisman |author2=Florence K. Lentz |date=June 1978 |accessdate=June 11, 2018}} With {{NRHP url|id=78002749|photos=y|title=accompanying three photos from 1978}}</ref>
- I guess it could be improved further to incorporate the copy of document that you found, so:
<ref name="nrhpdoc">{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=78002749}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Arctic Building |publisher=[[National Park Service]]|author=Lawrence Kreisman |author2=Florence K. Lentz |date=June 1978 |accessdate=June 11, 2018}} With {{NRHP url|id=78002749|photos=y|title=accompanying three photos from 1978}} (text also available [[https://web.archive.org/web/20120218025437/https://fortress.wa.gov/dahp/wisaard/documents/RN/0/1/1068.pdf here])</ref>
- I do understand your feeling under fire, and I do feel petty about going on about this. But, still, why not use the best available version of a reference. In general I guess I think you should try hard not to appear to be taking a shortcut that makes work for other editors, like using bare-url references and in this case using a lesser quality version unnecessarily. I certainly hope we will quickly get past this picky point, and I do hope/expect to be more constructive on other articles. --Doncram (talk) 23:13, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- On my browser the whole references section is quite small. But I did see the NRHP doc listed in the External Links section which is what I used. Happy to improve the ref or any other issues upon request. If I had seen that cite I would have used it instead. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:19, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- And I didn't see that External Links version at all. Now deleted that. Thanks. I am sorry about the confusion. --Doncram (talk) 23:33, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

I'm troubled that the Empire and American Bank building are treated as two in the sources but seem to be one in the photo. Is there a separate American Savings Bank building? Source says it's "adjacent". Gone now anyway it seems but I find it confusing. As best I can tell ot is one building. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:23, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
Elberta peach
Elberta Peach currently a redlink, article is needed. See Willow Lake (Marshallville, Georgia). One online source. Who is going to create Draft:Elberta peach? --Doncram (talk) 23:39, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- YWCA Building (Seattle) needs creating. (YWCA Building--Seattle, 1118 Fifth Ave. Seattle, WA) covered here. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:51, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- Yes about that. The source you have seems to indicate it is merely NRHP-eligible, but it was in fact listed on the NRHP. It is a redlink in National Register of Historic Places listings in Seattle, and in List of YWCA buildings. --Doncram (talk) 23:58, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

- 1) I don't see where it's covered in the targeted article. 2) The settlement predates Suffolk. Notability does not expire. 3) It is on the border area of Suffolk and Chesapeake so redirecting to one or the other would be improper. FloridaArmy (talk) 06:13, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- Compare for example to Driver, Virginia which is also part of Suffolk, closer to the city of Suffolk, and no part of which is in Chesapeake.@user:Legacypac FloridaArmy (talk) 06:26, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- If you feel strongly about it youbcan simply edit over the redirect at this title. You don't need AfC approval. Legacypac (talk) 06:28, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- I don't think that would be the correct approach. A proper move and either a proper merge or leaving this historically African American community as an independent article subject would be the only policy consistent outcomes. FloridaArmy (talk) 06:35, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- And as I've noted, a merge doesn't make much sense to me because there are other communities in Suffolk that have their own articles and this one is especially notable and along a border area with part of it in Chesapeake. 06:37, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

- I understand that it must be frustrating to have a bunch of articles moved to draftspace, and honestly some of them already assert enough notability as is. But would you mind working on some of them in draftspace? I've been improving my fair share to move to main, and doing so will help you get back in the good graces of the community. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 19:14, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note and for your help Eddy. Very much appreciated. For the moment I am trying to take things slow. But I hope I can help restore as many of the subjects as possible. I wouldn't have created them if I didn't think they were worthwhile and I am sorry to see them disappeared. FloridaArmy (talk) 21:35, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- A lot of the articles that I moved to draft space do make significant claims to notability but the sourcing was not sufficient to back up the claims. With a bit of work the sources have been added and the articles are back in mainspace. The trouble is that you were creating close to 100 articles a month at a rate of sometimes nearly 20 articles in a day. This created a massive workload for other editors especially new pages reviewers and editors participating in Afd and the closing admin. All of that could have been avoided if you'd slowed down and concentrated on correctly sourcing an article before creating another. You've seen what editors like Editorofthewiki and Carole have done to bring the articles up to scratch, it takes a bit of effort but now the articles are quality articles and pass review with flying colours. I hope this hasn't discouraged you because you seem to have an eye for finding useful and interesting encyclopedic subjects that enriched Wikipedia. They are way more useful than some of the promotional crude they we deal with from COI and PAID editors. Dom from Paris (talk) 04:41, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:John James (U.S. Senate candidate)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:John James (U.S. Senate candidate), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. AaronWikia (talk) 23:45, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- WTF? It's bad enough we don't have an article on the primary winning Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Michigan but how was this deleted as advertising out of my draft space? Substantial coverage of James includes an entire New York Times article that was cited. This place is fucking nuts. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:43, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
- I agree that it is very unusual to delete a draft article. I hope that you know that it is not really deleted but only hidden, so that you could request that an administrator un-deletes so that you can continue working on it. --NearEMPTiness (talk) 06:42, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

- I believe the international boxing titles and substantial coverage establish notability. An AfD would be a more appropriate venue to determine notability. And I'm not sure what about the articles covering him, his matches, a controversy over a fixed bout, and an obituary don't establish notability. Seems like more bias. A title holding boxer West Indies and Jamaican champion during his career isn't notable according to whom? FloridaArmy (talk) 23:54, 23 August 2018 (UTC)

- My understanding is that inhabited places are considered inherently notable. This one is discussed in a variety of sources although the depth is somewhat limited. It seems to me to be suitable for a stand-alone article. I also added some content to the Lake Hancock article in the meantime. The Draft approval process if very slow and quite broken. Legitimate drafts where notability isn't absolutely 100% clear cut re never taken to AfD for community input. They just languish. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:26, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

DGG ( talk ) 03:02, 27 August 2018 (UTC)- FYI, for a brand new NRHP listing, there is always an official announcement within a weekly listing from the NPS which can/should be used as source for info to go into an infobox, in addition to the type of local newspaper announcements which you found already. Much of this infobox-type info is already quickly put into the corresponding NRHP county/city list-article without link to the official announcement. The list-article includes the exact date of NRHP listing; this can be used to find the specific weekly listing in the NPS's list of weekly announcements in 2018. I added this type of reference and an infobox for the Twelfth Street article. Cheers, --Doncram (talk) 00:50, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- P.S. From past experience, having a starter infobox helps get AFC approvals more quickly, and they're pretty easy to adapt from any existing NRHP article or from running the NRHP infobox generator. I suggest always creating one. --Doncram (talk) 00:53, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note @Doncram. I generally avoid fooling much with infoboxes. But perhaps I can try to copy one over for future NRHP property articles. If you can offer any help with Draft:Isaiah T. Hatton (Isaiah Hatton) and Draft:Romulus C. Archer I would appreciate it. I used the tool to look for NRHP listed properties but only came up with ones I had already included. Also, the campus of Virginia University of Lynchburg is a historic district but another editor objected it being called ... Virginia University of Lynchburg Historic District. What is the historic distrixr called? Also in the county listing it doesn't seem to be listed as a historic district which sems weird an unhelpful to me. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:58, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- The weekly listing doesn't seem to inckude much info. FloridaArmy (talk) 01:14, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- Right, the weekly listing is extremely minimal, but for Twelfth Street HD still had a few bits that your starter article did not have. And it is the definitive, authoritative source for the date of NRHP listing and for the NRHP reference number. Note that an NRHP application document usually doesn't have the date of eventual listing.
- The NRHP infobox generator shows that the campus is listed as "Virginia University of Lynchburg". It suggests link to NRHP document at NPS that fails to find anything; i have to follow wp:NRHPHELPVA suggestion to find the state-supplied document, here, which verifies that the name does not include "Historic District", and I would avoid coining a new phrase. wp:NRHPHELPVA includes a sample reference to be completed out.
- About the NRHP county list-articles and the individual infoboxes failing to note that a district is indeed a historic district, even when "Historic District" is part of the name of the place, yeah that happens. It's a general (though not too horrible) problem that the NRIS database field for that is quite imperfect, passed on to the tables and infoboxes which were directly generated from NRIS originally. You could just change it, e.g. by adding "hd" as the type in the infobox. --Doncram (talk) 01:32, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- I don't really see how calling a historic district a historic district coins a new term. When is a historic district not a historic district. Anyway, hopefully the compromise edit I worked out holds. FloridaArmy (talk) 01:37, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

Do we really need to explain this? You link notables, esp. when it says "notable". If you think a draft is ready, move it. Yourself. Don't demand others do it. Meatsgains, is there something I'm missing here? Drmies (talk) 02:27, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not allowed to move the draft or I would. Systematic bias (ie. bigotry and discrimination) are big problems here. I added 2 cites noting RDX as key players in the daggering phenomenon as well as having recorded the hit song daggering. Excluding them from the article would be inappropriate. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - MrX 🖋 19:52, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
- Always the edit warriors serving up the misguided warnings. You removed longstanding content from the article. You were reverted. You did it again. Now you've taken the issue to the talk page. It's an interesting argument that we should exclude a person's legal career and service as a JAG attorney from the lede. FloridaArmy (talk) 21:57, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
