Canada Marine Act

Could you review article Canada Marine Act for what I think is a non-sequitur typo? In that article it uses the word 'downloaded', which seems amazing for a governmental act. Could it have been meant to be the word 'downgraded'? Shenme (talk) 03:33, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

• @Shenme: Hmmm. Here in Canada "downloaded" is used this way. Our Federal government balanced the Federal budget by shifting the responsibility for some expensive services, like housing, to the Provinces, which in turn shifted responsibility for some of those services to municipalities. This shifting of responsibility is referred to as "downloading". It is definitely not referred to as "downgrading".

Neat. Thanks. The varieties of English do interest me. Such as 'metalling' used for paving roads - invented by the English but preserved by those in India till today. Or rather 'to-day', as was commonly used only a hundred years ago! One language, but squeezed through time and space... :) Shenme (talk) 05:13, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
