Betty Blue Eyes
You removed a summary i never added at Betty Blue Eyes also you haven't said where it is a copyvio of which you should of, especially since there isnt a source there to indicate what it might of been of.Blethering Scot 17:11, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
- Reply at Did You Know as i am not contesting removal i actually agree. However you really should say what its a copyvio of in summary or on article talk page. Too prove i never added it see [1] i only moved its section location.Blethering Scot 17:44, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
- Fair enough. It was a copyvio from multiple sources (what one would expect from a press release). If you search for a string of text from the synopsis it is easy enough to find. IronGargoyle (talk) 19:19, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
removed content
My original edit DID clearly explain why I removed content from the article on "Killing Season." I don't understand why people can't just read the edit history, where my reason was stated quite clearly. If people disagree or object to my reasoning, that's fine and I actually won't fight it, but "you didn't explain why you removed it" is just objectively wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.83.191.181 (talk) 20:03, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Majdelyoun
Hi. Thank you very much for the review of majdelyoun. I am philbous. Can you please remove the redirect from majdelyoun to Sidon District when I go and search under google for majdelyoun, you see it as a link; when you click on it, it redirects your to sidon district. Majdelyoun is a town within the Sidon District. It should not be redirected to any page. Please help me with this. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Philbous (talk • contribs)
- You don't need to blank the page as a first step before creating a page from a redirect. Just create the page from the redirect. Redirects are generally useful, and it's rare that one should ever be outright blanked. I see you've already created the page though, so I will leave things as-is for now. Bonkers & Nigg*rs DYK
Just an FYI, but ☯ Bonkers The Clown has been indefinitely blocked, partially for articles like this that were promoted in DYK. The "community" in AN had a very different understanding of his fondness for the N-word. This particular article is also involved in a heated AfD discussion. So, yeah, there was some backlash. Liz Read! Talk! 17:00, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- ...and he was unblocked shortly thereafter. I don't think a block was out of line, given his trolling and/or general obtuseness through the course of numerous discussions (although the length certainly seemed unreasonable). I know about the AfD because I participated in it. In my opinion, the problem was his behavior during the discussions, not his creation of the article itself. When you raised concerns about the article on the nomination I politely suggested the possibility of opening a thread at WT:DYK to get wider input (which you declined to do). I'm not understanding the "I-told-you-so" vibe you're giving off. Sorry. IronGargoyle (talk) 17:11, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for the vibe and I didn't know Bonkers had been unblocked today. I see that the conditions of his unblocking are that he not work on articles similar to Niggers in the White House.
- I do think my concern about the title and topic were dismissed in that DYK discussion and this post to you was not a "A-ha!" but just a post conveying the hope that when an Editor offers the opinion that a DYK nomination is offensive, that it will be considered to be a valid concern and that the visibility of a DYK placement for such an article might lead to a backlash. This is not about censorship, it's about the power of words and the power of Wikipedia's main page.
- No need to apologize to me. I raised my concern, I brought it to your attention. I'm not a regular at the DYK area so I won't be opening a thread as I don't think similar articles will be proposed as DYKs or FAs. Again, my apologies for the "tone" of my remarks. I really meant this exchange to be informative, not provocative. Liz Read! Talk! 17:25, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- No worries. I'm sorry you thought I was being dismissive. While I didn't agree with you completely, if I thought your concerns were without merit I wouldn't have raised the possibility of a wider discussion. To a certain extent you were right about the controversy, but I doubt that the controversy would have been nearly so intense if Bonkers wasn't being, well, Bonkers. On 28 September 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Bandit (Yomiuriland), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Bandit, formerly the world's fastest roller coaster, races by hundreds of blossoming cherry trees and is called the fastest "flower viewing" in the world? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bandit (Yomiuriland). Trillion Dollar Coin
Do not touch ANYTHING that I edit on the Trillion dollar coin page. We are the school of thought that PUSHED the trillion dollar coin and the reason the wikipedia page for it exists at all (due to us pushing it and getting it popularized). I was surprised to see that some idiot and not someone associated with us wrote the part on inflation, which was completely wrong and actually talked about QE instead of the coin, which is simply ridiculous. And you want to revert to that? Come on now, why don't you actually stick to the things you actually understand, and leave the rest to us PhDs. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DaRkJaWs (talk • contribs) 21:23, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- So, let's get this straight: Not only are you removing other reliable sources and replacing them with an unencyclopedic-toned paragraph sourced only to an unreliable source (a blog), but you are also admitting that you have a conflict of interest in the matter (pushing your own theory). Also, by telling other people not to touch anything your actions are in clear violation of Wikipedia's policy on article ownership. Plus, you're edit-warring. Sheesh. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:29, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
They are not "reliable sources". The content you are defending doesn't even talk about the inflationary effects of the Coin. It talks about the inflationary effects of QE. If you don't know the difference, then maybe you should leave it to an expert to decide. As I told you elsewhere, I'm an ABD PhD candidate at UMKC, and if anyone would know about the mechanics of the coin, it's those of us associated with UMKC. There is no conflict of interest, the conflict is about facts. Why don't you actually read the content you're defending instead of consistently blocking my attempts at fixing what are huge factual errors? I'm not the one edit-warring, you are. You have no way to ascertain whether an article is "dubious" or not unless you actually did some research. Did you bother to look up Joe Firestone, the author of the article I linked to? Did you see what other articles he's written on the Platinum coin option? I didn't think so. Why don't you do that before you start problems. DaRkJaWs (talk) 22:41, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Moringa
Hi, you removed my edit, with the following message:
"User talk:132.248.13.5 From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia October 2013[edit]
Hello, I'm IronGargoyle. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Moringa because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. IronGargoyle (talk) 20:25, 2 October 2013 (UTC)"
I am an academic and the world authority on the Moringa family Moringaceae (I'm the only specialist :), so it isn't hard). Please see my publications at http://www.moringaceae.org/moringa-publications.html
and my Moringa Home Page at http://www.explorelifeonearth.org/moringahome.html
My new moringaceae.org blog is designed to answer numerous questions that I receive daily regarding moringa, and is designed to be an authoritative source of information regarding the family. Such a resource is currently lacking, even from Wikipedia, because of the enormous volume of either uniformed and well meaning users uploading erroneous information, e.g. on the distribution of Moringa oleifera, or because of the intentional uploading of misleading or unproved information on the part of vendors.
Thanks and best wishes

- Alright. The websites have spammy-sounding titles, but they seem to supply a reasonable amount of scholarly information beyond what is included in the article. They should be ok then. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 01:04, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi,
I have added the links back as well as a cite. I wonder about the link
because, while it does have links to some useful primary information, there is a lot of hype on it and it is essentially a commercial site (with ripped off images from my site!).187.195.53.130 (talk) 16:18, 6 October 2013 (UTC)

Grant Balfour
IronGargoyle, I hope that I am responding in the right section. No one has ever contacted me about my editing before. This has to do with the Grant Balfour article, which I felt was opinionated in spots. One of the things that I did was change "He acts like a baby" to something like "He has a reputation for acting out..." I just changed it to remove the bias. I am not an A's fan and not a fan of his, but if I see something like that I change it. Opinion articles should be saved for blogs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.65.124.68 (talk) 16:48, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

why I deleted the last section about Chang'e 3 mission
I deleted the section below
"The descent of the Chang'e 3 spacecraft is expected to increase the content of lunar dust in the tenuous lunar exosphere, as well as introduce gases from engine firings during landing. This provides an opportunity for the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) mission to examine possible changes to the baseline readings of the Moon's exosphere and could allow it to study how dust and spent propellant gases settle around the Moon after a landing.[25][38] For example, one of the combustion byproducts will be water vapor, and LADEE may be able to observe how lunar water is deposited in cold traps near the poles."
because the Chang'e 3 descent hasn't started yet.The possible consequences mentioned in the section are just personal views by some academics. They're not proved facts and these consequences haven't been verified. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mentor of mankind (talk • contribs) 15:36, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- That section notes a scientific hypothesis that will be tested. There is nothing wrong with its mention in Wikipedia. CHeers, BatteryIncluded (talk) 19:22, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

- You should generally avoid editing articles on your own organization, as doing so often violates Wikipedia's guidelines on conflicts of interest. The specific reason I reverted your edits was that you were adding an excessive number of links which seemed to be purely promotional in nature. - The relevant policy to this issue would be Wikipedia:BLPPRIMARY. I think it is inappropriate because the fact is sourced to the episode itself. This could be used to augment the Daily Mirror source (if that itself is a reliable source), but not alone. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 03:00, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Hello IronGargoyle, I'm trying to find out why my article/page was deleted. All info are totally legitimate. Earlier today I tried to correct my last name as it was spelled with a lower "m" instead of a capital letter "M" and perhaps my efforts to rectify that created some confusions and raised a red flag? Would you please be kind to let me know why you deleted me and if it is anyway possible to correct the last name to Majocchi?/ (instead of majocchi). With many thanks, Nicola Majocchi — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nmajocchi (talk • contribs) 22:37, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
- The article's deletion had nothing to do with the capitalization. It was deleted because the article was completely promotional in tone. Such articles violate Wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view. I should also note that autobiographies are strongly discouraged in general. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 22:46, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello Iron Gargoyle, the reason I made those "edits" is because those pages were not showing the changes made on the roster templates (roster moves), so, by erasing and then readding the templates, they rebooted now with the changes. Many thanks and apologese in advance, Ant — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.107.182.63 (talk) 16:47, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
- As you can see in the comment above, Wikipedia is not somewhere for adding links advertising commercial services. While there may be similar links present, that does not mean that they are supposed to be there. I will remove them. Thanks, IronGargoyle (talk) 16:50, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
For some reason
(coincidence, or . . . ...... something else?) you have showed up on my watchlist a bunch this morning, most notably at the Toll Brothers. I was the one who ( I think) originally discovered the legal threat and I chose to remove the logo and then posted something about it and it was picked up by more knowledgeable folks such as yourself who really dealt with it. Thank you for doing so. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 16:22, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of ISTOBAL
You deleted ISTOBAL based on the fact that it was blatantly promotional. I disagree. I do agree that it was probably improper for a user named ISTOBAL to create the article named ISTOBAL, and that the company may or may not be notable, but I reworked the article to clean up the citations and formatting, and as I did so, I did not find that the article was overtly promotional. It appeared to be a statement of facts about the company: its foundation and recent expansions. Is it possible to get a WP:REFUND on this one? I understand that the notability of the company may be in doubt, but given that there are some independent sources presented, I think the notability issue would require an AFD discussion. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:47, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- It still needs more work, but if you want to try to remove more of the promotional material, go for it. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 13:51, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you. I had somehow completely glossed over the rank promotion in the "History" section while I was working on it. I hope my edit has improved the article. (Frankly, I don't think the article would survive an AFD discussion, and I may well take it there myself if it doesn't show signs of improvement in the near future, but I figure it deserves a shot.) Mobile business intelligence
Hi! I was all excited to see I had a message on Wikipedia when I visited it today...(wasn't aware there were ever direct messages to someone). Thanks for letting me know.
I received this message from you:
Hello, I'm IronGargoyle. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Mobile business intelligence because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:56, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
While I agree with you that our link would be inappropriate in the context of a fact-based or pedagogic section of the article, the heading under which I placed the link said this:
Products[edit]
A number of BI vendors and niche software vendors offer mobile BI solutions. Some notable examples include:
It's simply a list, and I believe we have as much right to be there as anyone else on that list. At the very least, we are certainly a "niche software vendor", and a quick check of our web site would confirm that we offer a highly relevant, targeted offering to this topic. When we have received visits to our web site from Wikipedia (when the link was there, it was frequently our top referrer), the engagement on our site was amongst the highest we experience, proving that the content was highly relevant to visitors to this post on Wikipedia.
The nature of "Mobile Business Intelligence" is completely commercial (it's right in the name!), and while the category of topic is appropriate for an encyclopedia, we feel that a dedicated page on cafe moba on Wikipedia would, in fact, be purely commercial and any other similar company that does post a page on the site is being, in spirit, at least, not appropriate to an encyclopedia. In that way, our link, under an appropriate heading in a relevant entry, is more in line with the spirit of an (online) encyclopedia than the other companies who are listed there.
Thank you for contacting me (I was wondering where our link kept disappearing to...), and thank you for providing me an opportunity to plead our case! Obviously, I am interested in maintaining a presence on Wikipedia within this article, so if you can suggest an alternate way I can do that I would appreciate it.
CafemobaCMGR (talk) 21:58, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Beyond the fact that conflict of interest guidelines strongly discourage you from editing about yourself or your company, no one has a "right" to an article or an link on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a directory, and so it does not contain a list of every imaginable company with that company's contact information. Only a company which is deemed notable by being covered in-depth by independent, reliable sources (e.g., books, magazines, newspapers) may have an article. Beyond this, an external link to a company website should generally only appear on the Wikipedia article for that notable company. Inclusion of links elsewhere is considered spam. I hope this clarifies things. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 23:35, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Process question & your opinion
Hello there. I have a question on how to process with something that's been bugging me for a couple of days now. Seeing as I'm not sure on where to ask (my issue doesn't seem to meet RFC/U requirements), and I've seen you being active (read: being faster reverting in Huggle than I was), I thought I'd ask you.
Here's a quick outline of my situation: About two weeks ago, there was a user named Animalgatekeeper who was valiantly removing content from the RSPCA page, despite being reverted many times by various users. After he was finally blocked, I got an e-mail from the user through the Wiki, in which the user claimed to be the Head of Communications at the RSPCA. After discussing with the folks on IRC about the possibility of a fake, and verifying that there really is a person with that name and position at the company, I decided to give it a go and replied to the e-mail. It turns out that this person was indeed who he claimed he is. In the e-mail, I tried to explain to him what he did wrong and how he should proceed instead to the best of my knowledge. He seemed to understand what the issue was, and I figured the issue over. (PS: I uploaded a copy of the e-mail exchange here) However, a couple of days ago, out of curiousity, I checked up on the RSPCA page.
In the meantime, there seem to have been various edits done by two similarily named users, AdamB21 and RichB6. These two users seem to be desperate trying to mend some of the criticism in the article. A lot of the edits seem rather dubious to me. However, my entire "life" on Wikipedia is being a gnome, really, and I feel very insecure when it comes to editing of any kind.
For that very reason, I wanted to look for outside help. What would you say the right course of action from here would be?
PS: If you can't be bothered, which I'd fully understand of course, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction on where to ask. :-)
In any case, thanks a lot. ~ | twsx | talkcont | ~ 16:29, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- Wow. That looks like a mess. I don't have the time to dive into this right now, but here are a couple of options you might consider: You mention that it doesn't meet the criteria for RFC/U (I assume you mean Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User conduct), which I agree with. I might consider opening a sockpuppet investigation though (which you might have meant in the first place, because the acronym RFC/U is sometimes misunderstood as "request for Checkuser"). WP:ANI might be another option. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 16:57, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- Heya. Thanks, I didn't think of ANI. Opened up a post here. Cheers! ~ | twsx | talkcont | ~ 21:23, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
I don't know if anyone is going to remove the prod but I 100% support your rationale and even previously included the article in an AfD discussion about these types of articles. Even though I'm a WP:WINE member, I do believe these types of articles (of which we sadly have many) do not conform to the purpose behind WP:LIST and merely serve as free advertisement for non-notable wineries, breweries and distilleries to have a WP:PHONEBOOK entry on Wikipedia. AgneCheese/Wine 17:41, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the support. The List of New Hampshire breweries is already at AfD. I was contemplating doing a batch AfD, but there are some notable differences in the lists, so I think I'll nominate individually if they get contested. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 17:58, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, as I learned several years ago with my AfD, batch noms rarely come out with any consensus. AgneCheese/Wine 18:59, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
- I am in the process of removing the prods on every one of them, or at least the ones that do have entries., , as I think just the opposite. Lists of organizations of a c notable type in a region are suitable lists, though they usually should be limited to the notable ones. You could save us both a lot of trouble by going to afd directly, as I will challenge any such prod that I notice. Very few such deletions turn out to be uncontroversial--they are almost always contested. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DGG (NYPL) (talk • contribs)

International Child abduction
Can you please re write this with your own words in international child abduction? Make your that this is not plagiarism.
http://www.international-divorce.com/Top-Ten-Tips-for-Expats.htm
If you’re overseas and pregnant, and not 1000% confident that you’ll always want to live in the overseas country, consider very seriously getting out of there now. If your baby is born overseas, whether in Sweden or Saudi Arabia, the child’s “habitual residence” for purposes of the Hague Convention will be Sweden or Saudi Arabia – and that can create terrible problems if you want to take your baby “back home.”
Before you move overseas, realize that if you have children in a new country you may find yourself trapped there. An example: Angie the American and Gus the Greek (from Cyprus) moved to Cyprus with their baby. Life in Cyprus didn’t work out for Angie. In fact, she hates it there. But Gus refuses to leave and he refuses to allow Angie to take the baby back to the States to live. Since both Cyprus and the U.S. are parties to the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, Angie will be in big trouble if she takes the child back to the States without Gus’ permission. Angie wishes she had consulted an international family lawyer before she moved overseas. Now she’s stuck there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.151.9.245 (talk) 20:16, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Brewery Lists
Greetings IronGargoyle: I went to the former List of Breweries in Vermont to use it because it was a fast way to find a particular brewery. I was going there because I had discovered a lovely New York Times citation, but I wanted to save time in searching out the brewery. What do I find? You've removed the list by redirection to Brewing in Vermont. However in your move and subsequent edits, you lost the list of all Vermont breweries (even the blue wiki-linked provably notable ones) and left in the article shameless plugs for a few. If your goal is to remove promotion, then why did you remove all the other Vermont breweries on a really well-organized page that used to contain a list, ([2]) to a stripped down page ([3]) only promoting a few companies? I see nothing on the talk pages to indicate that you sought consensus prior to these bold changes. I also see that you have started to do similar in California and other states. Brewing is a big business now and growing at an impressive rate in states across the U.S. To give only one example:
In 2013 California, craft brewing added $1.7 billion in wages, $850 million in taxes, and grew 20% by volume over 2012. The state brews more craft beer than any other state and has 12 of the largest craft breweries (by volume) in the U.S. (source: David Richey & Bart Watson, California Craft Brewing, Economic Impact Report, California Craft Brewers Association, 2013, 15 pages)
Based on the economic importance of this sector of non-durable manufacturing in a nation which has lost much of its manufacturing base, I do not understand gutting pages and tossing tags around without seeking consensus on talk pages. I see you replied to an editor who said he agreed with you but I also that several other Wikieditors have come to your page with concerns about your mass actions on the U.S. Brewery pages, but I do not see replies or changes to editing style relative to their communications. My concern is the lack of usual Wikipedia behavior of notify, talk, wait, talk some more, then do things. I see from your edit history that you make hundreds of edits a day. I hope you are not caught up in some kind of edit count leader-boarding at the expense of the overall project. Perhaps it is time to slow down and smell the roses, state your vision on the talk pages and reply to the editors with concerns before doing more? Ellin Beltz (talk) 16:13, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- The blue-linked entries are still there. They are just in the body of the text, and not in list form (there seemed to be far too few bluelinks to make a proper list). There were very few bluelinks and so I saw no need for them to be duplicated in a list. I have nothing to say to your silly assumptions of bad faith that I'm doing this to raise my edit count. I might have nominated a few too many of the lists for deletion initially, and you'll notice that I stopped nominating them for deletion. That said, many (but not all) of these brewery lists still violate WP:NOTDIRECTORY. I am trimming down entries which are not notable. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a list of everything in the universe. If you find references (which are both reliable and independent) for removed entries which speak to the notability of the removed breweries, feel free to re-add them individually. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 16:26, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Actually all the blue-linked entries from the list that used to be on that page are NOT still there. The list formerly included:
- Alchemist Brewery,
- Harpoon Brewery,
- Long Trail Brewing Company,
- Magic Hat Brewing Company,
- Otter Creek Brewing,
- Rock Art Brewery,
- the Brewery at Trapp Family Lodge, and
- Trout River Brewing.[4]
Only the two shown in italics are still included on Brewing in Vermont. Thus your statement above "The blue-linked entries are still there. They are just in the body of the text" is incorrect.
My suggestion that you are going too fast is not an assumption of bad faith as you assumed, but an observation based on the speed, lack of attention to detail, and national application of your read of the guidelines and policies prior to obtaining community consensus. Redirecting the lists pages before consensus makes it very hard to check if the former material was incorporated or lost - as was the case with Brewing in Vermont. I am approaching this discussion from a place of concern for you and the project, however your "my way or the highway" rigidity on the topic is not evident of WP:NPOV or WP:CONSENSUS. I see you are continuing this one editor crusade across all the states of the United States even as multiple editors ask you to stop and talk. Might I ask you to stop single-handedly rearranging the topic and seek consensus? Ellin Beltz (talk) 17:27, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- I've added the list back in. The list was very short, and again, I did take the time to check each link and I thought the list was too short to be worthwhile. Some of the links are still not really suitably related to Vermont brewing in my opinion (an article about a beer brand, an article primarily about a lodge that has a small brewery, a brewery based in a different state, a non-notable brewery, etc.), but I really don't care that much about that. I noticed halfway through writing this that you thanked me for my edit, so hopefully the article is in a satisfactory state right now. As far as editing philosophy though, I do tend to be bold when making edits. Given the terrible shape of these lists, I don't think that was in any way unwarranted. I'm happy to talk about these edits after the fact, but a local consensus of a few editors who like to have a bunch of linkspam and non-notable entries in their lists doesn't overrule a larger project-wide consensus that Wikipedia is not a directory. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 18:44, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think that any of the editors who have been working to bring these lists to shape "like to have a bunch of linkspam and non-notable entries in their lists". I think your mass deletion requests, individual deletion requests, prod tags and so on caused editors to scramble and do a lot of work in a hurry on a topic that for some unknown reason seems to bother you. In future would be simpler to put "article needs work" tag and move on. The project people then have time to move in and fix things on a more reasonable timescale than working fast under the gun. Please explain why these lists bother you so much and also please slow down and stop tearing down the house before others can nail on the roof. Ellin Beltz (talk) 23:58, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Mississippi Breweries
Why were the Mississippi Breweries removed from the List of breweries in Mississippi wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soupermirl (talk • contribs) 04:44, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Beer-related lists
Hi again. I am writing you once again to ask that you not continue to delete information from beer-related lists including List of breweries in California. It doesn't help the project to delete information before other editors have a chance to source it properly. I quote here from Template:Citation needed: The {{Citation needed}} template is intended for use when there is a general question of the verifiability of a statement, or when an editor believes that a reference verifying the statement should be provided. Other templates are available... Being specific about the nature of the problem will help other editors correct it.If you have the time and ability to find an authoritative reference, please do so. Then add the citation yourself, or correct the article text. After all, the ultimate goal is not to merely identify problems, but to fix them. (emphasis mine)
It would be helpful if you could not revert every edit to those pages immediately when made, but instead place a citation needed tag on any entry which you feel needs it and another editor will come along and clean it up asap. I understand completely the sections of policy which you have quoted before, but you cannot also ignore the policy that says we are here to build an encylopedia, not rip out the pages of the subjects we don't like. Ellin Beltz (talk) 23:52, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Respectfully, no. My removals seem to be the only thing that has prompted people to actually take the time to add references. It's not hard to find what I've removed in the page history. I'm here to build a good encyclopedia—not a crappy one without references—and I'm not here to build a directory either. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 17:41, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

- don't revert some other's edits without reading explanation . behave your self.Septate (talk) 16

- Behave myself? You're funny. Making a single revert to a bad edit like the one you made is completely within the realm of normal and acceptable Wikipedia behavior. IronGargoyle (talk) 19:09, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
- You made it with out reading my explanation on talk page! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Septate (talk • contribs) 10:25, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- The edit didn't make any sense on its face. All the explanation in the world wasn't going to change that. I'm not interested in editing or discussing Voltaire further. IronGargoyle (talk) 11:28, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- If you don't have any interest in Voltaire then why did you interfered. I previously made the same edit but was reverted by another user and he asked me to explain it on talk page and his point was correct. So I explained the whole edit on talk page and then made edit. And then you came who without thinking for a single moment reverted the whole edit. If you really had any problems with my changes the you should have discussed it on talk page instead of reverting. And now you are saying that you are not interested any more. I am really upset about your behaviour.Septate (talk) 15

- I think you really need to chill if you get this worked up over a single revert. Please take your boldtext screeds elsewhere. IronGargoyle (talk) 16:39, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
Parappa the Rapper
I saw the tag 'He also stole $100 from a fan" and simply changed it to "allegedly," as we are all innocent until proven guilty. And there are plenty of sites documenting it such as http://parappathescammer.blogspot.com that document the whole thing. it has been picked up by reputable sites as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.247.232.182 (talk) 00:18, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- Then maybe cite something besides an unreliable blog? IronGargoyle (talk) 11:29, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
Again... the comment was already there and was bordering on defamation. All I did was add "allegedly" and moved it to a new sentence, since the previous editor had it bundled with the previous comment making it look like it had a reference when it did not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.247.232.182 (talk) 14:42, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- That's fine, but we're better off when we remove unverified negative information about living persons entirely. IronGargoyle (talk) 17:14, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

- Hm. We seem to have some Aam Aadmi Party meatpuppets based in East Coast USA. Eg: at Mukul Tripathi, Habung Payeng and Jiyalal Ram Jaiswar. A general note on the issues was placed by me at WT:INB here earlier today. We had something similar before, back when the December 2013 Delhi elections were due. - Sitush (talk) 00:10, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
