Removing WP from Wikipedia talk:List of hoaxes on Wikipedia/Bont
Hi. Back in 2019 you archived the hoax article Bont to Wikipedia:List of hoaxes on Wikipedia/Bont, which meant its talk page was "frozen" with a WP France template that had been added in 2009 without an importance being set. At the time, that meant it was categorised as NA and has been frozen as such, whereas these days it would be Unknown. Since I'm doing a bit of a cleanup of the WP France assessments, this will shortly stick out like a sore thumb, it really needs changing. Either it's a stub article, in which case it needs an importance setting, or it's a "something else" (like categories, projects etc) in which case an NA importance is OK but it can't be classed as a stub - or as a hoax it should never have been tagged with WP France in the first place. Personally, I'd go with the latter option, but I'm happy for you to use your discretion. FlagSteward (talk) 02:22, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- @FlagSteward: I've removed it from the categories using

File question
Hi JJMC89. I'm wondering why JJMC89 bot made this edit since File:Shanghai Disneyland logo.svg (the file that was removed) seems to be from Commons. FWIW, this file was also flagged as NFCC#9 violation by the betacommand bot and I'm wondering whether there's something about it still telling the bots that it's non-free. The file was uploaded (moved?) to Commons about a week ago. Maybe something didn't get cleaned up during the move? -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:09, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Marchjuly. It removed a now-deleted local file with the same name as the file on Commons. — JJMC89 04:53, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- Understand. Thanks for clarifying. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:05, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
It seems the list of inactive admins under Criterion 1 is missing. GZWDer (talk) 17:19, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, GZWDer. I had criterion 1 disabled while I was migrating from the old code to the new and forgot to enable it on the first. — JJMC89 19:03, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- What about the users who were eligible for two criterions? There are some users who both received two notices. Thingofme (talk) 02:41, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- What about them? They are listed for and notified for each. — JJMC89 02:08, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- What about admins who make enough 100 edits in the last 5 years after being noticed? Does the bot automatically update their edits? Thingofme (talk) 15:46, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Bot work
Greetings,
I have just received message from your bot that I need to do something from the checkuser stand point and I wanted to ask you if you can elaborate for me as to what needs to be done.
Regards,
Боки ✉ 23:21, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Боки: What message are you talking about? My bot doesn't send any messages about CheckUser. — JJMC89 00:43, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- @JJMC89 I was not sure if this was related to my recent checkuser status gain. Here is the link of where it is (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:JJMC89_bot/log/FileRemoverBot#2022-12-17T12%3A53%3A16Z) Боки ✉ 00:44, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Боки: No, it is unrelated. That was because a WP:NFCC#9 violation was found on your user page (introduced in Special:Diff/1127914064) that the bot was not able to find in the wikitext. — JJMC89 00:55, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

Jeremy Thorpe files
Hi JJMC89. Just letting you know about Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 July 2#File:1965 Jeremy Thorpe.jpg for reference. Apparently, someone tried to add it to 1967 Liberal Party leadership election, October 1974 United Kingdom general election, February 1974 United Kingdom general election and 1970 United Kingdom general election, but JJMC89 bot removed it from each article for 10c reasons. Obviously the bot couldn't know about the FFD, but even if someone were to add a rationale for the file's uses in those articles, it would still need a new consensus for the use to be considered OK. Anyway, someone then uploaded File:Jeremy Thorpe.jpg to Commons to use in those articles instead, but that file is almost certainly a copvio and needs its license verified. I removed the Commons file for the time being until it can be reviewed, but someone might re-add it. Once it's deleted someone will probably try to use the non-free yet again in those articles. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:56, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
Next Maharashtra election
In Left Democratic Front section of Next Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, the flag of Peasants and Workers Party of India is often removed by @JJMC89. The flag has already been used in an article of Wikipedia. This flag is derived from Peasants and Workers Party of India. Can I add it now? XYZ 250706 (talk) 11:35, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- I didn't remove it, my bot did. No, the symbol should not be used per WP:NFCC#8 (more at WP:NFTABLE). — JJMC89 23:08, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
About an unanswered close to a month old block request
Hello JJMC89. Hope this message meets you well. Thank you for what you do to ensure Wikipedia remains a quality encyclopaedia. The reason I am here is due to an unreviewed block request of an on-wiki editor colleague of mine that is nearing a month. I think I should start with disclosure about my relationship with the editor. I have never met Danidamiobi, and we have barely spoken directly with each other. Also, he didn’t “send” me to contact you. This is really my own initiative. From what i know about him behaviorally, he always seem like a sensible editor and to a large extent I trust him to always say things as they are. Also, I am not in any way trying to influence or suggest how you should respond to the unblock request, I have not even had the time to look at the case thoroughly from a competency point of view. My main reason for coming here is due to the current unanswered status of the unblock request.
I have been thinking about possible reasons why this is the case and I have three narratives: the first is that it was an oversight and it escaped you to review the request, if that is the case then maybe this message can be a reminder. The second is you probably want another admin to look at the case, if that is the case hopefully another admin sees this message and acts on it. The third is you are not convinced by the reasons given, and don’t see enough to act on it. Whatever the case may be, I really hope that there is a response soon, whether it is a decline, accept or further questioning. I really hope dropping this message on your talkpage is not seen as counterproductive, that was never the intent. HandsomeBoy (talk) 03:17, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi HandsomeBoy. I looked at the request when it was made. I'm not convinced that they understand the policy that they were blocked for violating, but, per policy, I should not decline the request. — JJMC89 23:20, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

Squirrel Plush Toy.jpg
Hello. I found out you just deleted my image of Squirrel Plush Toy.jpg. But a consensus has not been reached. You didn't even explain why it should be deleted. Please tell me about it. Red White Blue and Yellow (talk) 01:59, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- It was deleted per the nomination – a derivative of a copyrighted work (c:COM:TOYS). — JJMC89 23:54, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Red White Blue and Yellow I feel your pain. I had my fuzzy moose deleted for the same reason. It's a cruel world we live in where stuffed animals aren't safe from the license police. -- RoySmith (talk) 00:12, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
- I suppose you're right about (c:COM:TOYS). However, I still don't understand why images such as [1] and [2] get to exist. I must also say that these images are the reason why I thought about uploading the picture. Red White Blue and Yellow (talk) 03:52, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
This bot is pretty impressive
Thanks to this bot I discovered that you can make one like this Dave1285 (talk) 16:52, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
JJMC89 bot deleted the official Bangladesh Football Federation logo from their all National Football Team pages
Dear Wikipedia administrator, I seek your highly serious attention to the matter that JJMC89 bot deleted the official Bangladesh Football Federation logo from their all National Football Team pages including under 17, under 20, under 23 & national teams (both men & women).
Reason showing: Removed WP:NFCC violation(s). No valid non-free use rationale for this page. See WP:NFC#Implementation. Questions? Ask here.
Why am I disobeying this? - Because every national football team is showing their respective National football Federation to represent your country except Bangladesh (the reason I am appealing for) - I neither made any changes to that image nor re-uploaded. I just put a line (Bangladesh Football Federation.svg) on the Badge section of the template of all Bangladesh National Football Team pages including under 17, under 20, under 23 & national teams.
Please revert the action of that bot.
Because that image represents Bangladesh national football teams and gives better understanding to the audience. HridoyKundu (talk) 19:45, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
- I will not. It was removed in accordance with the non-free content policy, with which you are obligated to comply. Also, see Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2022 December 14#File:Bangladesh Football Federation.svg. — JJMC89 21:43, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
FORGET to mention THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT, this exact same picture is currently using on Bengali Wikipedia Bangladesh national football team pages including under 17, under 20, under 23 and the national teams (both men and women). HridoyKundu (talk) 19:54, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
- What is done on the Bengali Wikipedia is irrelevant. — JJMC89 21:43, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
