Trinidadian French-Creole moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Trinidadian French-Creole. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Dclemens1971 (talk) 18:36, 15 August 2025 (UTC)

What will I need to establish notability, it is decently well known in Trinidad (If you want I can link multiple channels that cover the language and the culture of French-Creole-Trinidad), multiple singers also used the language and some words still remain. On the Antillean Creole wikipedia page it mentions Trinidadian french creole, which is the only creole (except the obscure San-Miguel Creole) that doesn't have a proper page on wikipedia and I thought that it would be right to give this dying language some recognition. Thank you for your help. KeyolTranslater (talk) 19:20, 15 August 2025 (UTC)

Really good start. Claims currently attributed to YouTube channels and blogs need to be given reliable sources or removed.

So video archives are not allowed? I can probably find some videos on different websites, would that be allowed? KeyolTranslater (talk) 08:15, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
Also I am not trying to go against the rules but I do believe these YouTube sources to be genuine, KatVixenchick is run by a professor and Myrote is run by an author who wrote a book of the same name. I do understand that checks need to made to YouTube sources and blogs however I do believe that the sources I have found are genuine KeyolTranslater (talk) 08:27, 27 August 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Samuel Mitchell (governor), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Topsham. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Aww Man, no worries, it’s hard to establish notability because it’s from N. Korea, a region which doesn’t really share their information as much. Like if you go onto YouTube you can seen various versions of the song by the various bands, and if you were to ask a North Korean they’d probably know what you are talking about. (I don’t condone North Korea I just found this topic interesting). Also I did find quite a few sources but they were all either in Korean or broken. Juchewave moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Juchewave. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Personally I don’t think it should be moved to draftspace, it seems notable enough when you search on sound cloud or YouTube for Juchewave, it is a small (but not too small) movement of music, it’s very hard to find sources that mention it because article writers wouldn’t write about a somewhat niche music genre online. There are many videos which have thousands of views which I suppose show notability, but I couldn’t use those as evidence as YouTube is considered an unreliable source. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 18:48, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
That's precisely the issue; we rely on WP:RS for notability. The burden of proof is on you to find notability when you create new articles. If it's hard to find RS, then maybe it's not notable. We don't judge notability based on views on social media btw. grapesurgeon (talk) 18:51, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Yeah ok I understand, but does that mean famous social media personalities and musicians aren’t notable due to being on social media, or do they get to a stage of relevance? Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 18:54, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Social media follows/views/likes/subscribers etc are all irrelevant to Wikipedia notability. How we judge notability depends on the topic (see WP:N; has different sections by topic) but in general we rely on coverage in major, reliable academic or journalistic sources. grapesurgeon (talk) 18:57, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Ok I understand 👍 Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 18:59, 13 November 2025 (UTC)

Provenance

Where did you get this image? Clearly you did not get in a time machine and photograph someone who died in 1808. DS (talk) 14:49, 14 November 2025 (UTC)

It’s a photograph of a miniature painting. It is Louis Cazot Sr (the uniform has military tassels on the arm, showing it was someone of military standing, which would’ve been Louis Cazot Sr. as opposed to his son who was in the militia but of a lesser rank). Is it that hard to tell it’s a painting/sketch. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 16:16, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
Very simplified: for copyright purposes, an accurate two-dimensional representation of a two-dimensional artwork is considered equivalent to the original. You are not considered the creator, the original portraitist is. Similarly, the date of creation is not "when you uploaded it to Commons" (or, for that matter, when you took the photo). It's when the original image was created. DS (talk) 00:38, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
Well it would be prior to 1808, I assume 1796 after he was elevated in status in the Grenada Militia. He is wearing a military uniform (and he was head of the militia- I have documentary evidence if you require on him being the head of the militia), he retired soon after from the militia therefore it was made between 1796-1808 (probably on the earlier side). The original portrait artist is unknown but it isn’t the highest quality therefore I assume it was a local Grenadian painter who created this sketch. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 10:15, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
And also I saw that photos and depictions of now deceased persons are in the public domain (not that would mater as the artist and Louis Cazot have both been deceased for 200 years) Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 11:05, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
That's fine. Make sure to add that information to the file on Commons. Original artist unknown; date between 1796 and 1808. DS (talk) 14:13, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
Yes sure will do. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 14:33, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
It comes from an acquaintance of mine, but it was not made by them, it was made around the 1790s, and I believe this original version is in Grenada still, an heirloom of the LaGrenade family (which still exists and is headed by Cecile LaGrenade). Advice for your contributions at the Teahouse

I can see you're getting pretty active helping out at the Teahouse, which is great; that's pretty much how I got started on Wikipedia too. I would just like to politely advise you to try not to give speculative or uncertain advice, as that can be very confusing for newcomers. E.g., at the thread WP:TH#Title formatting you said Perhaps the person who changed it doesn’t know it’s meant to capitalised, personally I don’t like seeing long words with capitalisation, but if that is t the official name then I assume it should be capitalised, but I’m not experienced in name changes so I can’t really say. This is of course not correct; as others pointed out, it's typical to remove stylisation from article titles in most cases.

If you're not confident you can give a correct answer to the question, especially when it's questions about policies/guidelines/formatting etc, please leave it for somebody else to answer; there's more than enough helpful people floating around the Teahouse who can take care of it, and we of course don't want to confuse newcomers by giving them contradictory answers.

Also, this is unrelated, but your talk page is getting pretty lengthy - in case you aren't aware, you're completely free to make archive subpages for your old talk page threads, or just outright remove them (like all the notices of your articles being nominated for speedy deletion, teahouse threads being archived etc), and it might be good to do so for readability/clutter reduction.

Thanks again for your active participation, it's good seeing you around! Athanelar (talk) 00:31, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

Oh ok no problem, most my answers go off what I’ve seen others do and so etc, but sure I’ll take your advice, I just like helping out. I completely forgot about archiving so I’ll do that thanks. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 10:08, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

Thinking about it who's actually makes as much sense as Whose. Written English is a long way from being logical. I love mento & calypso & the whole rich variety of music from the Caribbean; I thought 'Lord Tickler' sounded familiar, I have one track partly by him on a complilationTheLongTone (talk) 13:55, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Yeah it does seem more logical but English isn’t logical, even as a native speaker sometimes English can confuse me (especially as I’m learning more logical languages). Lord Tickled although not famous nowadays had a huge influence in mento and later reggae and ska, hence some of his songs sounds familiar, or have familiar parts to them. It’s great to meet another calypso lover, my favourite is certainly Mighty Sparrow followed by Lord Kitchener. How about you? Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 15:11, 28 November 2025 (UTC)

Better source request for File:LordChristoCalypsonian.jpeg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. — Ирука13 22:45, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

I unfortunately cannot see the exact copyright hence why I have assumed it is under copyright (by default) I can change it and provide the actual URL to the site where the image is, I can go and change that now. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 10:32, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Belbury, and welcome to Wikipedia. I appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Alexandre Cazeau de Roumillac, it appears that you added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Your own sketch of what you think a person might have looked like, based on portraits of their relatives, is inappropriate for Wikipedia. Belbury (talk) 09:07, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

I can cite a source, but then the one for Pierre Charles L’Enfant, which has a original art piece from 1974 must go. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 09:50, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Don’t worry just wait a couple hundred years and it’ll be back 😂 (That’s a joke btw. Because it seems like paintings from hundred years ago, like on the page of Utnapishtim are allowed). Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 09:55, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Also,I know how to cite sources, I’m not a beginner, been here for 5 months with many constructive edits and pages. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 09:56, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
That's very good to hear! It's perhaps not obvious that a Wikipedia editor drawing a picture from their own imagination is the same as WP:OR (or WP:SYNTH), so I thought I'd draw your attention to that.
Old paintings are more useful because there's some historical interest in showing what a notable painter and/or book publisher thought a person might have looked like, at a particular point in time. Belbury (talk) 10:15, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Oh ok yeah I understand, no worries, if anyone ever wants to use them that’s fine, I’ll keep them on my user page if anyone wants to see my depiction of them, hopefully that’s allowed. I hope people don’t think my credibility is worse now due to this, I didn’t think what I was doing was necessarily wrong but now I understand. Replaceable non-free use File:Gros Point.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Gros Point.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 21:36, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

I will search for a free alternative, but I can’t find many images that say “copyright free” although there probably are, I’ll search and try find one which contains it. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 08:27, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
I don't think you need to search for a free alternative. If you add {{infobox settlement}}, you can use the location map feature which uses a freely licensed location map, and co-ordinates to create the display in the infobox. Have a look at Victoria, Grenada as an example. -- Whpq (talk) 14:33, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
An that’s ingenious, always thought how I can do that, will try to do that now. Thanks for your help. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 14:48, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
I see you are already aware of the Teahouse. It's a great resource for when "always thought how I can do that" occurs to you. If you have any difficulty in creating the infobox, feel free to reach out to me or ask at the Teahouse. -- Whpq (talk) 15:10, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
No problem, I managed to find a map site which allows users to export an image (share freely) and I was able to,circle where Gros Point is, could that be allowed, considering it’s a free licensed image and gives a bit of a larger indication of where it is (as opposed to the dot pin, which can be confusing). I can add that new image to the infobox. Thanks for your help. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 15:27, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CONSIDERATIONS sur QUELQUES PARTIES DU MECHANISME DES SOCIETES.jpeg

Thank you for uploading File:CONSIDERATIONS sur QUELQUES PARTIES DU MECHANISME DES SOCIETES.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 15:47, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi KeyolTranslater. Thank you for your work on Maran, Grenada. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thanks for creating this page for an occupied place that is likely to be independently notable. It would be helpful if something of its modern status could be added. For example, its population. Remember also to use Wikilinks to link to other pages from the articles you create.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Klbrain (talk) 17:04, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

No worries, my device died so I wasn’t able to finish it, I will certainly find more sources and it’s modern history. Thanks. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 18:24, 19 December 2025 (UTC)
Also Grenada doesn’t have many Census records, and so population can be pretty tricky for more out of town places (so basically places which aren’t Parish capitals). I will try my best though. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 18:45, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Lord Blakie (December 20)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Somepinkdude was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Sources 8 and 10 do not indicate notability as they are obituaries. #11 was written by an unnamed contributor, and therefore does not indicate notability either.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Grenada

Cool to see a Grenadan! Someone close to me is from there and I have always wanted to visit. They have said its very nice and off the beaten path. One of these days... ← Metallurgist (talk) 00:06, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Yes it’s a beautiful island, I suggest you visit one day, it is off the beaten path, especially as Trinidad and Barbados get a lot of the attention. It’s Nice to see someone else interested in Grenada 🇬🇩 Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 12:36, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
It’s awfully expensive though. The hotels and food are a fine price, it’s the flights as they all go through Barbados, somewhere everyone wants to go to, if it was a direct flight to Grenada the price would be much more reasonable. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 12:37, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
I live in the States, so I think we have direct flights from NYC and Florida. A lot of Grenadans in NYC. And yea the accent is similar to Trini and theres some culture overlap. Hopefully that isnt offensive to say. Ive heard a lot about it and definitely on my caribbean list along with Haiti. Normies can keep the popular islands haha,. ← Metallurgist (talk) 16:35, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
Ah I see, yes I have some Grenadian relatives in the states (mainly distant ones) as well, it’s not offensive at all to say, not only are we practically the same people (Afro-Grenadians and Afro-Trinidadians are highly similar), but many Grenadians went to Trinidad, most famous being Mighty Sparrow, even a couple of my relatives moved to Trinidad, hence the cultural overlap. It is a real shame Trinidad and Haiti have safety issues, both have an interesting history and culture. Yes normies can keep Barbados and the party islands, I’m out here travelling for the culture and history 😅 Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 16:56, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Will you work together on Thai Boon Roong Twin Tower World Trade Center?

Thai Boon Roong Twin Tower World Trade Center, yes it's a real skyscraper project in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia that will be 567 meters despite how dubious it sounds and it is a kind of a mystery on its own because there isn't much information about it along with it being in a coma state due to lack of money and they stopped it to wait so that the money will come in to have enough money to restart construction, which led to some misinformation about it being cancelled despite it not being cancelled at all, but i did found lots of stuff about it and i wrote my findings of mostly chinese but also khmer and english news articles, web pages and videos in the talk page and in the user talk page of Alalch E., the reason for saying this is because it would be too much for me to edit Thai Boon Roong Twin Tower World Trade Center because of how much stuff i found, so i ask you to help me, Komonzia and Alalch E. with it, what do you think about it? ~2025-43053-85 (talk) 21:21, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

Well I do not mind helping out, you don’t need to use all the sources, just a couple I’m depth and reliable ones, and then we can help, I suggest you create the page firstly, and write a little write up about it, then we can help. Happy editing! Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 08:54, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
Actually, there are depth and reliable ones, also there already is a article about it, it's just that were talking about improving and expanding the article about it. ~2025-43053-85 (talk) 13:00, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
Ah I see, well I’m that case improvements are much easier to do, I suggest you collect all the sources you want to use and then see where you can edit on the article, for example of the build height was changed you can change the number and cite a newer more recent source. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 15:15, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi, are you aware of WP:BLPPROD? For articles like Rayan PSN which are BLPs with no sources in any form (external links do count as sources), it can be used and cannot be contested like a normal PROD until at least one reliable source is added. HurricaneZetaC 15:28, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Draftify rules

Hi KeyolTranslater, you draftified the article Golden Kids but according to WP:DRAFTNO: "Another editor is actively working on the article, e.g. there is an {{under construction}} notice or there have been constructive edits made within the last hour" the article should not have been draftified. Your move was less than 4 minutes after the most recent edit. Something you need to pay attention to as you're patrolling the new page feed.

Otherwise, welcome to the NPP team, happy to have new help! Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 16:08, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Quick second thought, you might find the User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft script helpful. It lays out the rules of draftification for you as you are doing it, places the required AfC templates on the page, notifies the original author, and tags the redirects left behind for deletion automatically. Very helpful. Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 16:12, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
Ahh, sorry to come back again, I don't want you to think I'm harping on you. We are likely looking at the same spot in the queue. In general, the hour rule is best, see WP:NPPHOUR. Your {{BLP PROD}} tag of Raja Surendra Pal Singh done here may have been too soon as well. Especially given that election to a national office is considered prima facie evidence of notability, per WP:NPOL: "Politicians and judges who have held international, national, or (for countries with federal or similar systems of government) state/province–wide office, or have been members of legislative bodies at those levels." Of course, you aren't wrong in saying that sources are absolutely required for those articles, but we need to make sure we aren't being too bitey to new articles or users. Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 16:24, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
Sorry, I thought that incomplete pages should be draftified to prevent their deletion (Eg. In the case of Golden Kids which I thought it would be better if te user had it as a draft to work on it at their own pace without the threat of deletion, and without an incomplete page being in main space), and also apologies for not knowing the One Hour rule (so many rules to remember 😅), I’m truly sorry and it won’t happen again. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 16:37, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
No worries, at the end of the day, these mistakes aren't the end of the world. We all started somewhere, and the best way to learn is by doing. Heck, I'm pretty sure there's a similar message on my talk about something I got wrong this week. But as long as you're polite and open to feedback, that's the best recipe for success on Wikipedia. Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 23:22, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
Thanks Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 09:55, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
That's a lot of good advice from Bobby Cohn. I designed the UI for the Move to Draft script. If you need any further clarifications on its use or on the essential tutorial at WP:NPP, don't hesitate to drop me a line on my talk page. I wrote most of it and I also initiated the development of Page Curation (the software that runs NPP). Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 19:49, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

Thomas McElderry page.

Hey I saw you reviewed the Page i've been working on. I heeded your advice and took out a source and added some more. It uses lots of primary sources from the 1800s aswell as letters, muster rolls, and government archive documents. Let me know if I can do anything else. Thank you Henryalley1 (talk) 13:52, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

Primary sources aren’t the greatest, we usually like secondary sources (what other people have written about the individual) although you can use them just be wary and don’t only use primary, it’s better to use more secondary ones (essays, news articles, books etc.) Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 15:30, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
I have some secondary's as well, does it look good enough or should I add more sources? Everything I have so far pretains to the information I have down. Henryalley1 (talk) 16:05, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
I’ll look over it it soon although it would be even better if the secondary sources are in depth about the individual (I haven’t checked them yet so I don’t know whether they are in depth or not). If you find any sources feel free to add them Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 16:40, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
I added some more secondary sources. The page has 19 sources now. Primary and secondary. Henryalley1 (talk) 17:12, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
That’s great, when I have time I’ll look over it (or if another reviewer sees it first) and I’ll (or the other reviewer) will decline or accept it. Hopefully it gets accepted for you. Have a great day Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 17:56, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

Need further guidance

Thank you for your review. Your recent feedback accompanying your decline simply said, "Wikipedia can’t be used as a source so I suggest you remove those ones and replace them." I'm quite new to editing and publishing on Wikipedia so I apologize if the answer to my question is something I should be able to address on my own. My question... I can't determine what you were referring to with your words "those ones". This seems to be a new concern unrelated to your first review so I assume it has to do with my most recent edits. Please clarify or help me know where you might have already clarified in a way that I didn't notice. IntrepidWanderer (talk) 05:48, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

An apologies if I was a bit “unexplained” when you are in the process of reviewing pages a lot of the time you can put simplistic answers which don’t always help, so sorry for that.
What I meant was that your sources Including Wikipedia can’t be used (Wikipedia articles can’t be sourced by other pages, it’s a rule we have and it does have a proper name but I’ve forgotten it 😅), anyway what that means is that you can replace them, but if you want to put wikilinks in the article you certainly can (which I see you’ve already done).
So sources 5, 9, 10, 11 are all Wikipedia sources which can’t be used, however if you want you can go and take sources from those pages (which probably have sources which can help your article). Which would be great.
Hope I’ve clarified! Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 09:09, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

Dude, I checked your article. the new picture is cool ,but I would love it if the soldier had a face. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 16:27, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
I made a face (albeit a bit goofy) on the Coloured Militia page, the reason I didn’t make a face is because I wanted to use the image on both articles as opposed to having to draw two identical figures (with different skin colours), the easier option was for the faceless one to be on the St George’s Regiment article, and the face one to be on the Militia. I might change that in the coming future not sure yet. The Grenadian Historian (Aka. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a) (talk) 16:30, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Actually I could print the faceless version and add a (white) face, so I’ve used the same image but added an appropriate face. I’ll see if that could work. The Grenadian Historian (Aka. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a) (talk) 16:31, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:Norbert Schücking (March 2026).jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Norbert Schücking (March 2026).jpeg.

Thank you. tjd (he) T/C 19:40, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Warning for using curly quotation marks and apostrophes ( ), the precomposed ellipsis character (), three periods with a hair space (...), and backtick marks (` ´)

I've been watching your behavior using curly quotation marks and apostrophes (“ ” ‘ ’), the precomposed ellipsis character (), and three periods separated with a hair space (...). The thing that I asked you to stop using these is because I was watching you using these on the help desk, your own pages, and more. Please respond with a reason why or why not you can use straight quotation marks (' ") and three periods without a space (...). I would like or dislike your reason. 🤔 ~2026-78104-0 (talk) 23:38, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

Why can't you use straight quotes? Wikipedia recommends straight quote marks and apostrophes to maintain uniformity and avoid complications. This is to help avoid me getting confused with curly apostrophes and quotation marks. So what reason you are using for your reply? Answer when you click on the "Reply" button. ~2026-78104-0 (talk) 00:19, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
I know how to answer questions, not sure why you act like I was born in the last shower of rain (English quote), I use them because for some reason my device doesn’t let me use the other types, I’m not sure why you have a problem with them, they aren’t that complicated to understand, sometimes other people will change the quotation marks, which I always thank them for, I’ve tried doing it myself but copying and pasting them takes more time than writing the articles. Draft:OTO Melara R3 Capraia — Cleanup & Resubmission

Hello KeyolTranslator!

I've gone back and removed the Old War Thunder Wiki as a source for my R3 minor article. I haven't yet found a source to replace the aforementioned, but I think the sources provided are sufficient for an article of such size. Obviously the page will continue to grow, and I'll continue to add to it, but in It's current state I do believe it is ready for the main space, as it has a decent amount of content on it in regards to the history and design of the vehicle.

I've submitted it for review, and I was just wondering if you'd be interested in giving it another look!

Thanks,

I saw the article some weeks ago and it really was fleshing out in quite a good way, I would be happy to give it another look but I haven’t reapplied for AFC rights yet, I’ve been a little sidelined, but I’m sure some other military enthusiast will see it and hopefully accept it in the coming days.
Also DW, I’ve seen many other users with their real name as their username, just don’t give out too much information or someone will try use it for identity fraud 🤣🤣

New Page Patrol Newsletter - May 2026

Hello KeyolTranslater,

New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026

Backlog update

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

2024 and 2025 NPP Awards

JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.

Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

BoyTheKingCanDance, Rosiestep, SunDawn, and Vanderwaalforces were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

January–February backlog drive

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

May backlog drive

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.

PageTriage

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.

May 2026 NPP backlog drive – Points award

The Invisible Barnstar
This award is given in recognition of KeyolTranslater for accumulating at least 5 points in the May 2026 NPP backlog drive. Your contributions helped review 14884 articles during the drive. Thank you so much for taking part and helping reduce the backlog! – DreamRimmer 15:58, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
Oh I forgot about that. May went far too quick and I had things to do. Sorry I couldn’t do more @DreamRimmer, 5 seems a little measly 😂 The Grenadian Historian (Aka. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a) (talk) 17:20, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
