Sala delle Asse
editnow the italian page has to be translated. All is not clear to me, some sentences have not been translated.--Io Herodotus (talk) 10:01, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
- "google translates" :=> "The decoration covers the vault and the north wall of the room."
- only the north wall ??? Not according to the pics. We have to go there, to have a look (joke).
- "Asse" is axis in italian (according to google again)
- --Io Herodotus (talk) 11:50, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
- It could be the axis of the castle or something else. Where did you get your translation from? ('tower' or 'wooden boards')--Io Herodotus (talk) 13:22, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
- Perhaps in English, it is called 'room of the tower' or 'room of the wooden boards', but it's certainely not a translation. --Io Herodotus (talk) 20:41, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
- Translation is not about word-for-word duplication, but about creating a coherent equivalent sentence or phrase. For example "C'est la Vie" word for word technically translates as "It's the life", but in English that means nothing, so the phrase is normally, and properly, translated as "that's life" not "It's the life". Leonardo da VinciTalk 19:05, 4 November 2014 (UTC)
- Please free to correct my poor English, as it is a second language.--Io Herodotus (talk) 22:42, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia from the Anatomy Wikiproject!
editWelcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Anatomy! We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of anatomy articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are involved in editing anatomy articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing wikipedia articles are:
- Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
- You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing anatomy articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
- We try and use a standard way of arranging the content in each article. That layout is here. These headings let us have a standard way of presenting the information in anatomical articles, indicate what information may have been forgotten, and save angst when trying to decide how to organise an article. That said, this might not suit every article. If in doubt, be bold!
- Lastly, why not try and strive to create a good article! Anatomical articles are often small in scope, have available sources, and only a limited amount of research available that is readily presentable!
Feel free to contact us on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page if you have any problems, or wish to join us. I wish you all the best on your wiki-voyages! --Tom (LT) (talk) 22:11, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your edits to History of anatomy, Leonardo the Florentine! I have been thinking about creating a sidebar for a series on the History of anatomy, and I've created a template. If you had time, do you think you'd be able to flesh it out a bit? This is just a draft, isn't displayed to users, and nothing is fixed (headings, image, current entries), but I'd value your input. Cheers, --Tom (LT) (talk) 22:17, 2 November 2014 (UTC)
Clos Lucé
editAbout three years ago. I have seen on TV, a fresco has been discovered at the Clos Lucé. It showed a bird. The study of the wings and the way it flies, suggested that only Leonardo could have painted that. I cannot find any reference about this. Have you heard about it ? --Io Herodotus (talk) 22:51, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
- No, I'm afraid not. I haven't found any reference to it either. I'm intrigued. Can you tell me anything else about it? Leonardo da VinciTalk 17:10, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- They only showed two or three birds. On those drawings one could guess a long study beforehand of the bones of the wings like on the Codex on the Flight of Birds. Sorry, this is all I know. I went at the Clos Lucé about ten years ago, before it was revealed. --Io Herodotus (talk) 21:12, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

Font
editHi Leonardo the Florentine. Though it's ok to have a non standard font for your signature, the font that you're using in talk page replies is very hard to read, and I'd like to request that you revert to using the default font. Thanks, Sam Walton (talk) 09:22, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- I thank you for taking the time to make your request, and I'm very sorry you're having difficulty, Sam, but that is rather a subjective problem. That is, at least for now, until there is a large consensus on it. This as an experiment, much like Wikipedia itself is. The idea is to see just how many people react to it, either favorably or unfavorably. If a lot of people like it, perhaps others will be encouraged to create a more unique identity for themselves. But it's premature to stop it now. Unless Wiki policy expressly forbids it I'm not going to change it for one person. Considering my preferred method is actually writing backwards I think my compromise during this time should be reciprocated. My apologies again if you or anyone else finds this offensive, as that is not my intent. Leonardo da VinciTalk 13:55, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
I would say I think it breaks flow and opening the door to more people doing it would likely make wikipedia harder to use. Just for information on your experiment. It's certainly not against policy. (yet) SPACKlick (talk) 09:41, 5 March 2015 (UTC) ETA also it seems to be broken somewhat and has put me in papyrus... SPACKlick (talk) 09:44, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback SPACKlick. Yes, I forgot to close the font tag after my comment above that's why yours is "broken". Regarding your "flow" statement, sometimes when reading a convoluted discussion with many posters it is difficult to identify who is posting until you find their signature at the end. Sometimes no signatures are left at all. Already when going back to previous discussions now I can find my own comments instantly without actually "looking" for them because the font jumps right out at me. It has certainly helped me, but if no one else chooses to go the same route then that's fine as well. Leonardo da VinciTalk 12:22, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- I've started a discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 118#Talk page font because I feel that for accessibility reasons only the standard font should be used, but I'd like to see what the community's thoughts are. Sam Walton (talk) 17:05, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service
editHi Leonardo the Florentine! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over three years.
In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in three years or more.
You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:
- Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
- Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
- Paste
{{Frs user|{{subst:currentuser}}|limit}}
underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month. - Publish the page.
If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.
Note that if you had a rename and left your old name on the FRS page, you may be receiving this message. If so, make sure your new account name is on the FRS list instead.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:26, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
