Request
I respectfully request that you clarify whether or not I am included in the "bigots and fascists" that you refer to at MPants' talk page. I also request that you explain why you said "from what I have seen of [TOA's behavior], I am not impressed by", so that I can learn why you and/or others believe that my edit at ANI is violating some policy or guideline. There was no harassment or attack in my edit so there was no violation of those policies. 19:10, 9 August 2021 (UTC) TOA The owner of all ☑️
- Hello The owner of all, The "bigots and fascists" comment was more about Mjolnir's strong dislike of those sorts of editors, which I don't think he'll dispute. It was in reference to his history rather than you, I honestly didn't know enough about you to make that statement.
- I didn't really have an issue with the comment Mjolnir responded to at ANI; you are right, we're inconsistent with our enforcement of policies. And we should be more consistent. But I think you knew the reaction you would get when you said that. Mjolnir took offense to the comment, and I would understand name dropping like that being labeled as petty/baiting. I don't think was needed or warranted, and I think he should know that he should not say things like that. But then what you added here after I removed Mjolnir's comment... the diff got caught up in an unrelated Oversight but you said
The community should be aware that there was a comment here added by MjolnirPants [213] which was then removed by Moneytrees [214]
; that really seems like taunting to me. These same threads and topics keep on being re hashed in all these different venues, and it's honestly very difficult to get an understanding of what is even going on between you two. Whether that was your goal or not, I don't know. You were definitely forum shopping this all around
- But yes, looking deeper into you I do not have a very positive impression. Going off all the cited threads; your vote here was a rather unfair position to take, at least you seemed to realize that and later recanted it. There's the backfired edit warring report, the back and forth with Mr.Ollie and behavior displayed in this ANI thread, of course the "Your username has 88 in it so maybe YOU'RE the Nazi..." I note you retracted that one but it comes off as very disingenuous. Did you really think that or were you just saying that...?
- But that's just diffs offered in your recent disputes with Mjolnir. I've looked further a bit now, as I do. I see you were a vandal way back in the day;
You can't spell slut without UT
, looks like you used to be a vandal by the name of User:R0e1t2s3i4n5a all the way back in 2005. You got blocked on this account, and I looked at some stuff you posted to a now deleted version of your talk page (talk pages of blocked user used to be deleted) replying to the guy who blocked you"How unfortunate that this user has been blocked for no good reason. User:Voice of All(MTG) This guy is gay."
. Thats all almost 15 years ago though, so I won't hold it against you I guess. "We do a little trolling" the saying goes. Flash forward to 2015, where you are unblocked and you get right into wiki politics. User:The owner of all/ACE2015; "Oppose GorillaWarfare Supports certain political activism such as feminism even to the detriment of the encyclopedia[...]
" that seems very unfair and doesn't make a lot of sense. I think that indicates a reductive POV, and I have no idea how you would even know that since you had barely edited then, but I guess you are free to have that opinion. But then I look further. You start editing a lot again in 2021, and you make some alright gnome edits and remove some poor content, but you clearly have an agenda. But hey, you're a not-so-regular editor. So Whatever. And then I see the Snopes talk page stuff, and I'm not so impressed. But ok, we had a lot of accounts come up to complain about the Babylon Bee stuff, so whatever. Then I see your AFD nomination and edits of Sedition Caucus. And then I see all your requests to other users policing their comments, and then I see this edit (what could that mean?) and then I think back to your conduct at the noticeboards.
- So put yourself in my shoes. What do you think I should do? I would like to hear from you very much. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 00:06, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for answering the question. Now I at least understand your objections to my contributions. You are correct that I was a vandal in the past, but since getting unblocked in 2015 I have attempted to comply with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. To be clear, I did not engage in name dropping but rather was responding to a comment in which the name had already been mentioned. And I added the diff for MPants' reply because as far as I can tell, the rules of ANI specify that any user contributing to a thread is subject to be sanctioned, so I wanted it to be clear that MPants had contributed. Unblock my account
Moneytree, how can I demonstrate a better understanding of copyright and the willingness to not copy from other sources when I can't make any edits to prove so?
P.S. Given your comment on my talk page. I only have to add that will my last edit made of being copied, I like to call a spade a spade and not hide, I however strongly feel others so call infractions are questionable at best and go as far to say lack judgement in the part of the other party. If the other party even has sense to unblock me. I say provide so my account is unblock.USA Eagle01 (talk)
- USA Eagle01, the way to demonstrate a better understanding of copyright is to make edit requests at article talk pages. Do it in this format: Replace "(what it currently says)" with "(what you think it should say)". Source: (link to the source you're using to support this change). Other editors will check the source to make sure you aren't violating copyright, and if you aren't (and they agree with the changes), they'll make them for you. —valereee (talk) 18:26, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
CCI and PD sources
So, in working on Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20190125, at least one of these is a direct copy-and-paste from an 1860s PD source. So it's not a copyvio, but it needed attributed somehow. Without a PD template for this specific source, I essentially hardkeyed the text/icon that would appear in a template into the article in this edit. Is this the best way to handle this situation, or is there a different best practice? Hog Farm Talk 04:11, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hog Farm, what you copied is a subst'd version of {{PD-notice}}. That template should normally be placed outside of the citation template but inside the ref tag. — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 08:21, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

Copyright and CCI
Thanks for the ping. Thoughts are swirling through my head, but unfortunately, one of the main ones is that RL issues are keeping me very busy. In fact, I have an appointment for the rest of the morning coming up shortly so can't even take the time to fully summarize my thoughts much less go into to detail. However, I will take time to say that your rant was a thing of beauty. I was initially cheered by seeing some support for those of us who work in the copyright area, but then I was troubled to note that I recognized just about all the names supporting as those who work in the area. I get that we've chosen to work in an area that's underappreciated (CCI even more so than general copyright work) but if we can't get kudos, is it too much to ask that we don't get reamed out for improving Wikipedia? I'm so incensed by one reaction that trying to follow my own personal rule of avoiding quick reactions when they are negative, so I will see if I can come down and respond more judiciously later today.--S Philbrick(Talk) 12:48, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- Kudos to you both, and to everyone working in that area. I know what it's like to work in a highly scrutinized area that gets more criticism than thanks. :) SP, yep, write it, then sleep on it. :) I've made a couple of boners recently where I wish I'd followed that general rule for myself. —valereee (talk) 18:18, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- I Would like to thank you two aswell, you guys really do so much work in the copyright area! Thanks again! Signed,The4lines |||| (Talk) (Contributions) 04:21, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- Going further off of what Valereee said on my talk page, you have the habit of directly copying and pasting paragraphs into articles. Pledging to not doing that will help get you unblocked. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 04:12, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

When are copyvios large enough to warrant RevDel?
Hi there. After seeing your recent AN post, I decided to try and help out at CCI a bit (for now, at least – I've yet to find any area I keep returning to even after a while, so I can't promise I'll keep it up), but now I've got a question:
Is there any kind of rule of thumb for when a copyvio is large enough to warrant {{cv-revdel}}? For instance, should I have tagged this single sentence? Should I just tag every copyvio, regardless of size? As another example, I previously tagged this relatively small copyvio, making poor TheresNoTime do five separate deletion operations to get it all sorted out and causing more than ten years of revision history to be obscured, but I've seen a few similarly-sized copyvio removals by other editors where they elected not to tag for RevDel. – Rummskartoffel 20:48, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) (And because I was asked to make this reply as Money is currently dealing with some off-wiki stuff). Revdel is something that requires a lot of judgement. There are three factors to keep in mind when considering revdel: the amount of content removed, the amount of revisions to delete, and the size of the page. If you make an edit to a Start-class removing ~500 bytes of copyvio added a few years ago and at most a hundred or so diffs ago, call in a revdel. It you remove 12,000 bytes that survived in a bigass C-class added a decade ago like with this article, call in revdel. But it you remove ~1,000 bytes from an article that would require thousands of diffs to be deleted like the previous example – or this one – don't request revdel. Likewise if you, say, delete a sentence from a three-sentence stub. –♠Vami_IV†♠ 03:45, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

Like I told before I don not deny of some privies incidents made of constituted a copyright flag, but by and bye I steel believe overall I have don more good in my edits. No excuse's, once more but I do want to add from what I can see all added was not fabricated on my favor. It made of being plane laziness on my part or the fact that some editors nit pick to the pot of setting up a form of penrose stairs with the intention of setting up to fail any credible siltation that at times has let me to be careless haven given up. However I pledge to take the advice, that is use the talk page of the article if I what to add text and to not do any clear copying and pasting paragraphs into articles. If no one response in talk page, I will seek console. May even reframe to images placement of existing photos to star. Hope this shows I always strive to be a team player. Yes I do make my point, and try to supported given that is what I feel the talk page is for and have made consensus even when I disagreed if its for the better meant of the Wikipedia project. My comments and edits history make my point I feel. I due have to say this, I think all can agree that there are some, not say someone in particular I have interacted on the past, but some that no mater if the information is on part will still deny because of personal non justified one sided views. Moneytree is this not a good way to let know about potential edits and the pages that support? USA Eagle01 (talk)
- (talk page stalker) @USA Eagle01: Moneytrees is a) currently on a wikibreak and b) not a general content editor. You are better off making an Edit request than posting here, as an interested user will assist you in that. Hope this helps, Sennecaster (Chat) 03:46, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
- (Wikihounders) @Moneytree:: Sennecaster, hope Moneytree enjoys his break. What do you mean not a general content editor and what if so, that means he can not help? I have already made a Edit request to all publics universities in the state talk pages. Moneytree also advice this and so fallowing up on it. Can you help and make the edit request? It will be much appreciated. Moneytrees block me so I can't make the edit. USA Eagle01 (talk)
Transclusion

- (talk page watcher) @Editorkamran: I fiddled around with it [1], hopefully it's transcluding correctly now. Copyright violating IP
Hello Moneytrees! A month ago, I gave a copyright violation warning to the IP 67.247.133.177. Since that warning, they have continued to add copyright violations. Can you block them? Link20XX (talk) 22:34, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
- Link20XX, I've warned them again for copyvios and am now watching their talk and contributions. If another one happens I will block them. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 04:29, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Question about song lyrics
There's song lyrics at Burn (Hamilton song)#Hamildrop version. My understanding is that song lyrics are typically copyright violations. Is this true in this context? You're the first person I think of when I think of people are active in copyright-related areas of Wikipedia, so I thought I'd ask you. Clovermoss (talk) 18:34, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
JSOC
I understand the need to remove copyrighted material, but it appears that all that content was added by a single editor with about a dozen edits back in 2016. It it absolutely necessary to redact 5 years of page history and 339 contributions from countless other editors as well? Just wondering if such action is mandatory, (there has to be a better way). Thanks - wolf 22:02, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thewolfchild, There is some discretion with revdeling for copyvio but in cases like this common practice is to revdel it all. I felt it was necessary given the scale of the violations and fear of it being re-added. If it was a smaller violation, I probably wouldn't have done that revdel. Given the content was taken from books, if it was re-added it would've been harder to verify than if it was taken from a website, and thus might have been ended up staying in the article. Now that it is hidden from public view, the chances of this happening are much lower. As you may have seen, the content I removed consisted of massive blocky "paragraphs", and the language was sensationalist and wasn't appropriate for an article- this also factored into my choice to carry it out. It wasn't something I wanted to necessarily do, and I acknowledge that it will make accessing your and others edits more difficult, but I unfortunately don't think there's a better way. If you still disagree with my decision I would not mind it being brought to WP:AN for review, this is a bit of a grey area and things are not so clear so it may not be a bad idea to clarify. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 04:49, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- No, if you say it had to be done, than I accept that. Still wish there was a better way, but asking at AN won't accomplish anything, (especially me asking). I think putting in a phab ticket, if there isn't already one, would be the better way to go anyway. Thanks again - wolf 17:58, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thewolfchild you mean like a selective deletion, where only the removed content is hidden and other content added in between can still be seen? That would be better, but I'm not sure if it's possible. I feel like that was brought up a few years ago somewhere (in the context of a large scale oversighting), although I'm not sure if a phab ticket was filed... ClemRutter
Hi Moneytrees,
I'm another of the many UK-based editors who has met Clem and caused deep sadness by his current situation. Attempts to persuade him into a humiliating apology appear to have made him feel unvalued and it seems he has opted to cease volunteering here. User talk:ClemRutter#Wikipedia has changed This seems like a huge loss to Wikipedia in the UK, and I wish I could help prevent it. I am unfamiliar with the rehabilitation process you guys apparently have.[2] You must see this regularly, so is there more that can be done? Or is this (as I would assume) the end of the process? I would have asked Diannaa but I see she isn't around right now.TiB chat 15:12, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
