list of cannabis-related musicians
editI'm letting you know that I tagged your new list for proposed deletion. I am quite certain that there is a 0% chance that this can be made into compliance with WP:NPOV or WP:V. Pascal.Tesson 04:00, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why you have moved this into a warnings section. It's not meant as a warning of any kind. It's just standard practice to courteously let the creator know when you put up a prod tag. I certainly am not saying that your article was created in bad faith or that it was a premeditated violation of policy. Pascal.Tesson 04:57, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not monitoring your talk page but I have every page I edit added to my watchlist and using popups I just saw the diff. As I said this is not a warning and moving it is in fact an unfair way to twist what I am saying. I am moving that section back to its original location. Pascal.Tesson 05:04, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Please don't do that again.
- What's with the threats? Come on man... All I am saying is that I did not write it as a warning so I feel it's unfair of you to present it as such. Why is it so wrong of me to ask that you respect that? I feel that this is equivalent to you editing my comment. Pascal.Tesson 05:13, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

David and the Phoenix
editNice little article - I have taken the liberty of adding an infobox, using more standard headings established by WP:NOVELS and adding release details. Also corrected the spelling of Phoenix which is a common problem, if truth be known, one I often make as well. editHey man, I've reverted your edits on Leprechaun as they didn't seem to be an improvement. You substituted "genuinely" with "generaly" (sic) and made some rather odd formatting choices. 420 slang
editHey ReverendG, I removed the slang terms because there were no sources for any of them. In order to be included in the encyclopedia, content needs to be verifiable and have citations; the slang terms had neither. In fact, the section didn't even attempt to explain who had used the "slang terms", and when! Even with sources, of course, not every mention of references to 420 should necessarily make it into the article. Obviously the use of "420" in marijuana culture is more than widespread enough to warrant its own article (and having been to the campus of San Rafael High School, makes me chuckle every time I read it). But I think listing "IV:XX", for instance, with no explanation as to when it was ever used or by whom or why it's notable, isn't significant enough to be in the article. JDoorjam Talk 17:39, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
ok ok
edithey man, feel free to delete this comment once you've read it. All I am saying is that I did not warn you of anything and I felt like moving my comment was like editing what I wrote by putting a WARNING in front of it and misrepresenting what I wrote. I assure you there's absolutely nothing personnal about it but on principle I think you should leave your talk page alone unless it is vandalized. Pascal.Tesson 05:21, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Moving articles
editHi. I noticed you've moved the article Alice B. Toklas brownie to Cannabis brownies. However, it looks like you did it by copying and pasting the article text (a "manual move"). This is not the best way to do a page move because it destroys the edit history and doesn't move the associated talk page along with it. Please see WP:MOVE for the proper move procedure. If you need some assistance undoing your edits and following the proper move procedure, drop me a note on my talk page and I'll try to help out. Thank you. ~Matticus TC 00:54, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Image:Rockefellergivesfinger.jpg
editYou removed the "no source" warning for Image:Rockefellergivesfinger.jpg without providing the source. I believe you have confused source with copyright. Being the work of the US Government and thus in public domain is a copyright, the source would be the URL from where the image was taken. This is needed so it can be verified that the image was the work of the US Goverment and is free use, and not a copyright image (ie- taken by a journalist) that would make the image fair use. Please see the Wikipedia:Image use policy if you have any questions. --TheTruthiness 06:07, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Minor edits
editRemember to mark your edits as minor when, but only when, they genuinely are (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one, or vice versa, is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb, is that an edit of a page that consists of spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Also please ensure you use edit summaries especially when reverting.--Crossmr 18:50, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 09:15, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

drugs are good?
editI see you are pro cannabis. Just curious to know, do you know and agree with the fact that drugs destroy and ruin lives? 'Culverin? Talk 11:22, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Cannabis is nearly harmless when compared to alcohol and tobacco. If they are legal, cannabis should join them. Also, though some drugs (meth, coke, smack, etc.) do ruin lives, cannabis cannot claim sole responsibility for any life ruining. If someone fucked up their life, it's through their own error. Please don't do this again, wikipedia is not a place for debate. ReverendG 14:27, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Uncivil
editI read the articles that you linked to. You said nothing to Scotchguy about his uncivil behavior, which makes me question your objectivity. Plus you're a little late, considering I haven't edited on Wikipedia in a few days now. Wikihow is much more enjoyable, considering that the admins there discourage one or two users dominating a site by reverting useful edits based on POV. It is obvious that the policy of Wikipedia is that one user is allowed to dominate an article. Scotchguy repeatedly removes links to articles that are not written by his online circle of Scotch conoisseurs by calling them "Spam." Because of this, I have decided that Wikipedia is not truly collaborative and I see no point in participating. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peergynt323 (talk • contribs)
- You were removing and adjusting content to make yourself look better. Scotchguy always acted within the rules. Had you not acted the way you did your edits would have been better recieved. ReverendG 03:19, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
I added a relevant site. Scotchguy removed it and called it SPAM (<-uncivil) without a claim, citation, reference to the rules, etc. I presented my case civilly and he did not respond. He simply removed the link again. He then made a completely FALSE claim that I removed something from his talk to make me look worse and subsequently called me an A-hole, imbalanced, etc. (<-uncivil) His history of edits on the article suggest that he vehemently rejects all but a small set of links as SPAM without rationale. He never quotes or links to anything from the rules and he doesn't respond to civil behavior. Every one of his edits contains some sort of insult (<-uncivil). All of his behavior regarding the article is a textbook case of "fundamentalism," which is forbidden in the rules. Besides all of the aforementioned, he came onto my site and left negative comments and went to a wikihow article that I started and deleted more than half of it without any rationale. Unfortunately, he soon found out that WikiHow is better patrolled and does not tolerate his conservative fundamentalist behavior. I admit that I acted out of anger--I edited his talk because he made the false claim that I removed something that he wrote and I wanted to piss him off. After thinking more, I realized that Wikipedia is not a site for collaborative writers. It is a site for small groups of fundamentalists who want to push their own websites (which do collect ad revenue unlike the site that I added) and promote their own agenda. Because of this, as I mentioned before, I choose not to participate in it. Obviously the real admins are so busy with the vandals that they do not have time to deal with fundamentalist self-promoters like Scotchguy. After reviewing www.scotchfun.com, you will see that it is not only "personal" but contains far more opinions on music than it does on Scotch. If you have any respect for the actual rules of wikipedia, you will remove this site as "SPAM" as well.

Esperanza
editWelcome, ReverendG, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact our administrator general Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
to ReverendG
editI've been going back and forth with RevG for a bit tonight. I was shocked to read the article about the Nation of Gods and Earths. Being a white man, I was offended to realize that there is a group of people who beleive that white people are devils and black men are God. After making several immature but very smart ass edits to the article, I finally realized the philosophy behind the Nation of Gods and Earths. I believe the article needs more clarification and explanation of the metaphors for Blackman and White, God and devil. If this is a philosophy and not religion then that needs more specification as well.
I agree with some of the edits ReverendG has made. Others I disagree with. If I had more time then I would continue to critique rogue articles like this that claim to be subjective.
Part of my edits were removed because I didn't use correct research methods (according to RevG) although finding sources and confirmation of my edits would not take too much more effort. However, it is not my edits that need research and proper citation. It is all the references to Blackman, White, non-White, devil, and God that need definition and disambiguation. Much of the information in this article needs more research credit and 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation source material. Otherwise it comes off as being an anti-white or non-white dominant article that offends countless numbers of people.
There needs to be clarification that this in not a skin color issue.
And to all you people who insult RevG, you are making yourselves sound stupid. Stop the insults and deal with the real issues. RevG is open to edits as he has allowed some very crucial edits by me to stick.
And yes, canabis should be legal or everything that can possibly kill people should be illigal. Go watch Thank You For Smoking (not the best example) and Supersize Me. You would be killed by eating fatty foods much sooner than getting high on smoke from a burning plant.

Howdy and Thank you
editI just wanted to say I appreciate your vigiliant efforts to revert vandalism on the Barack Obama article (the last one was pretty cute - and funny!). After reviewing your user page I have pronounced you cool. I am currently directionless - I've been adopted by a user, but he just pointed me in directions (that I already knew about) and hasn't given me anything to do. He has offered me his support, however, which I appreciate.
The upshot is - would you like any help with anything you're currently working on? I need to do some actual work, but I work better with a little oversight.

an article about Hamlet, (ru-sib version) includes Zolotaryov's own translation of this great work of world literature. The original line (Marcellus: Peace! break thee off! Look where it comes again!) is translated in this article as "Motherfucker brought his ass here again")

Howdy, and HELP!
editCan you help me with an external link in an infobox for the album Mystic Man? I thought I put it in there correctly (though it's the first one I've done), but it doesn't show up at all. If you go to the edit page you can see it. The category in the infobox says "professional reviews", but it's just not showing up. What did I do wrong? HALP!
On an unrelated note, you might find this article interesting. It's from one of my local weeklies. Don't let the heading fool you! It's actually winds up being a pretty compelling arguement for legalization in the end.
Cheers! NinaEliza 07:33, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. I'm just going to add a "further reviews" section then. I might not get to it for a while, though. It was on my first "Suggestbot" page, and when I couldn't do that, I went on to the first entry on my list - which is Giffnock, Scotland. Since, I approached someone from Project Scotland about that article, I think I should finish that entry now before I do anything else.

Template:Minnesota
editThanks for working on the Minnesota Template. I have a couple of disagreements with what you've done however. 1) In the Regions section you changed Twin Cities Metropolitan Area to Twin Cities. I disagree with this because the region covers 11 counties and dozens of cities - not just Minneapolis and St. Paul. 2) You changed Major Cities and Metropolitan Areas to Major Cities. After some on-line research, here's what I concluded: The St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area has a total population of about 181,000 [2]. The population within the city limits (which includes portions in Sherburne County, Stearns County, and Benton County) is about 64,308 [3] and breaking it down, 6726 in Benton, 6629 in Sherburne, and 50,877 in Stearns = 64,232 [4]. So, I changed the heading from Major Cities to Major Cities and Metropolitan Areas, since St. Cloud has some significance that sets it apart from places like Plymouth (70,455) or Brooklyn Park (71,048). This is not a terribly elegant solution, but I think if the heading stays "major cities" then St. Cloud should be removed. Appraiser 15:49, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

New template for your articles
editTaken from the Dept. of Fun page, "Sandbox in-sandity":
[[ |center|]]|500px|What?]] | This article needs more Fonzie. You can help by adding more Fonzie. And while you're at it dont forget to add more Fonzie.. |
I've been avoiding posting you, because it means I really mean it. I'm leaving Wikipedia, and don't think I'll return (or at least not for a long time). I'm trying not to be a big drama queen about it - and really it's no big deal. I haven't been here that long anyway. I just didn't want you to get bummed or shocked if you went to my talk page.
It's been fun exchanging stuff with you, and I still think you're cool. I'm wrapping up things and saying goodbye to a few of the friendly folks I've become acquainted with. Then I'm out.
In the interest of wrapping things up, I want to make one small request of you. Remember that page I directed you to last time (Upskirt)? Well it turned out that the one editor who was both willing and able to do a rewrite was me. I got about half-way through and had to bed. Would you consider finding someone who could finish it? It's very incomplete right now, but at least it's better than it was.
If anything, it turns out to be the specific topic of a lot of recent privacy legislation. I would also like to see a criticism section from a feminist point of view, but my bias is showing:). I'm pretty sure I added some useful URLs on the talk page. I'll check before I leave and if I didn't, I'll try to get them again and post them there.
Happy editing and keep the faith, NinaEliza 02:27, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
Category:Cannabis recipies
editHi, Rev. On or around Oct. 17 you created Category:Cannabis recipies. Perhaps you meant to create Category:Cannabis recipes, but as I understand it, Wikipedia doesn't do recipes (they leave it to a sister project). If you have a name in mind let me know, although I think either "Cannabis foods" or "Cannabis cuisine" might work. If you have the time, you might want to run this by User:Bunchofgrapes, who is an expert on food topics. BCNU. —Viriditas | Talk 10:22, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the award. If you run into any issues with categories in the future, you may want to use WP:CFD. Since you are the original author of both cats, I went ahead and placed a speedy deletion tag on the former. The parent cat still needs to be sorted, so I'm looking forward to working with you in the future. —Viriditas | Talk 00:40, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

- That means I could go to you for more immediate help for practical things. I'm not saying I expect an immediate response, but I can't wait, like two days - three days for an answer.
- I've got things I want to do, like write an article for the parent organization of the non-profit I direct (Compeer International), expand the article on NAMI (which looks like it was written by Ely Lilly), make a taxobox, do the articles in my suggestbot, and the list goes on.
- The technical tutorials are all written in Mandarin. I don't need, like, freaky-crazy help - just some really straightfoward questions answered.

Hey Rev
editI'm sorry I haven't talked to you in a bit. I should have done what I said I was going to do instead of what I did. I royally fucked up on pretty much all fronts. I lost my cool in this thing I've been involved in and the shit is totally going to hit the fan tomorrow (or maybe tonight, I'm going to bed).
I just can't do what I wanted to do with this whole arbitration thing in limbo. All the stuff that's going on in relation to it is simply freaking me out. I know I'm a good writer, I know I can make it here. I've got to back away and get some perspective until this whole thing blows over.
I'm in the process of completely re-organizing my non-profit. You wouldn't believe the stress and the workload (but I love it and it will settle down in a month or two). I actually came to Wikipedia to de-stress. So far, it ain't workin'.
Then today, after a particularly difficult stint at work, I came home to my watchlist and just lost it. I didn't even read half the stuff I was commenting on, I was so freaked out.
I'm not asking for help, or even much of a response, I just needed to get it out. You've pretty much said all you need to say, and I keep my cudgel close. Tomorrow (or two weeks from now), I'll ask you about taxoboxes. NinaEliza 09:46, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
I created my first article!
editHi Rev,
So a lot has happened since I wrote the above, and I see things a lot more clearly. The RFarb is over now, and I'm doing alright on all fronts. I'm not usually like that, I just sorta...whatever.
The article is New York Manumission Society. It's a stubby-stub, but I'm going to keep working on it. It's not that there isn't enough information, it's that there's too much. It's crazy weird that there's no article on this.
I've also done a lot of work on James McCune Smith, but there's a lot more to go there (I'm responsible for all of the red links - shit). Check them out!
My very own Fisher-Price barnstar!
editThanks! It is both groovy and...another good thing I can't think of right now. So, New York Manumission Society - can you figure out what wrong with the fucking third reference? I hate that third reference right now...NinaEliza 02:43, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Master P/Foo12
editSo Foo and I had a chat last night. Apparently, he then creates a sock called NinaEliza, vandalizes my talk page with it, then gets himself blocked. Here's the really weird thing: He uses the sock (or maybe not, but it's the same ip, so isn't that a sock? to tell me what a fucking bitch I am for talking to Foo. I can't even wrap my brain around it. Is that why you got vandalbot, because of him? I'm getting that, man. It's one thing to be trusting, it's another thing to be a doormat.
All the stuff I'm working on right now is so cool. I'm...happy. TTFNNinaEliza 04:49, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
First of it all the person was the same that vandilized me using the accounts Adopter and some other ones (i cant remember) He has vandilized me even using my own ip address. (by the way this is the second time i got blocked for it) i only vandilized once along time ago check it in my ip address. but if you want to accuse me of sock puppeting thats fine--"P-Machine" 06:54, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

editI haven't given you anything funny in a long time[[5]]. This may mean I suck. This may also mean, however, that I've been a bit busy. Check out New York Manumission Society now.
No, the edits aren't all mine. In fact, I pretty much invited a potential edit war to my summer villa of an article. It's all good though - shitstorm abated, and the article is mostly stable.
By the way - how do you make a taxobox? And is it not said when taxobox plain? NinaEliza (talk • contribs • count • logs • email) 13:48, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

More blunt & personal knowledge
editLike I sort of implied, I have not interest in Cannabis/Marijuana for myself, just not my thing, which means my knowledge is sorta shady. That said, I think the term is not JUST a cannabis/pot/weed, etc, term, but also (used to) refer to an especially cheap and pungent type of cigar, and if you had asked Arthur Conan Doyle and until the early part of the war on drugs (say, about 1950 or so), if you had said "blunt" to someone, they'd have thought "tobacco," although M.J. and indeed, Cocaine, heroin and opium were constantly used and proscribed by doctors, midwives and could be purchased at the drugstore. I have to look this up somewhere, since I am a history type... but lets see what we can find... and YES, High Times is a reputable source! V. Joe 04:55, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for helping welcome our new users. That's really appreciated, and I am pleased you take the time to welcome IPs, like me. However, when you welcome them, can you please subst the template? Orphaned fair use image (Image:Fuckworldtrade.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Fuckworldtrade.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WikiProject Mixed Drinks - Important discussions starting
editHi again. Philvarner and I have various thoughts on how to restructure the entire mixed drinks and bartending section of Wikipedia, and that also squarely ties in with WikiBooks. Some of these are pretty sweeping changes, and as a sometimes active WikiProject Participant with good input and advice in the past, I would really appreciate your advice from time to time on this topic. Please visit the Restructure Section to read, discuss, and hopefully help plan these important changes. Thank you. --Willscrlt (Talk·Cntrb) 12:06, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Minneapolis
editHello. Does Minneapolis, Minnesota look all right to you? Please pardon this form letter that is going to about a dozen people whose user name I recognize from some Wikipedia edit (could have been recent or in the past year). I expect to close peer review by nominating Minneapolis to featured article candidate in a day or two unless other editors have more work they'd like to do. In case the links help, places to make a difference are to edit in place, comment in the peer review, comment on the talk page, support or oppose when and if it gets to featured article candidate, or work on a child article linked from the following template. -Susanlesch 23:58, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Auditionpos.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Auditionpos.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:59, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Happy Birthday!
edit
The Wikipedia Birthday Committee is proud to wish you a very happy birthday. |
First, the map File:Virginia,MN.jpgis tagged as uncopyrightable because it's a product of the US Govt. It appears to me that this is actually a scan from a Minnesota Highway Department map...it may still not be copyrightable, but it's still mistagged. Second, this map indicates a locality apparently called "Franklin" which is not mentioned in Wikipedia (the Franklin, Minnesota is quite clearly an unrelated community most of the state away...) When is the map from, and what has since happened to this particular Franklin, Minnesota? Cheers, Tomertalk 02:17, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

To ReverendG, on the occasion of Minneapolis, Minnesota reaching featured article. With thanks Susanlesch 01:49, 29 June 2007 (UTC) |
Awesome, totally awesome! ReverendG 19:11, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Pharmacology is currently organizing a new Collaboration of the Week program, designed to bring drug and medication related articles up to featured status. We're currently soliciting nominations and/or voting on nominations for the first WP:RxCOTW, to begin on September 5, 2007. Please stop by the Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week page to participate! Thanks! Dr. Cash 17:53, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Aspirin has been selected as this week's Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week! Please help us bring this article up to featured standards during the week. The goal is to nominate this at WP:FAC on September 10, 2007.
Also, please visitWP:RxCOTW to support other articles for the next COTW. Articles that have been nominated thus far include Doxorubicin, Paracetamol (in the lead with 4 support votes so far), Muscle relaxant, Ethanol, and Bufotenin.
In other news:
- Bupropion has been promoted to featured status on August 31, 2007.
- The Wikipedia:WikiProject Pharmacology main page has been updated and overhauled, to make it easier to find things, as well as to highlight other goals and announcements for the project.
- Garrondo is asking for individuals to help review Therapies for multiple sclerosis, as he is considering nominating this article for GA status.
- Fvasconcellos notes that discussion is ongoing regarding the current wording of MEDMOS on including dosage information in drug articles. All input is welcome.
editThis is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Brooklyncenter.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Here's a brief update in some of the recent developments of WikiProject Pharmacology!
- Aspirin has just completed its two week run as the first Collaboration of the Week! Many thanks to those editors that contributed; the article got a lot of good work accomplished, and in particular, much work was done in fixing up the history section. It's still not quite "done" yet (is a wikipedia article really ever done?), but after two weeks I think it's more important to push onwards with the development of the new collaboration of the week program. I will be fixing up Aspirin in the next few days and possibly nominating it for either GA or FA status.
- Muscle relaxant has been selected as the new Collaboration of the week until October 2, 2007! This article is currently rated as a "stub", so it's got quite a bit of work cut out for collaborators! Admittedly, featured status could be a long way off,... but still attainable! At the least, maybe we could at least get it up to meeting the Good article criteria? Please stop by the article and help improve it.
- Resveratrol, having recently achieved GA status on August 16, 2007, is now making a run for featured status. This is quite a fascinating compound. If you can, please stop by its discussion page and leave comments in support of it.
- Please remember that Wikipedia is not a forum for discussing or dispensing medical advice amongst users. Specifically, talk pages of articles should only be used to discuss improving the actual article in question. To help alleviate this situation, the template {{talkheader}} may be added to the top of talk pages, reminding users of the purpose of such pages. Additionally, unsigned comments and comments by anonymous users that are inappropriate may be removed from talk pages without being considered vandalism.
- There was an interesting article on ZDNet last week about Hewlett Packard licensing its patented microneedle technology used in common inkjet printers to be used in transdermal patches to deliver a time-controlled release of drugs to patients. This information could be added to articles such as route of administration or drug delivery.
You are receiving this message because you are listed as one of the participants of WikiProject Pharmacology.

editOrphaned non-free media (Image:GetFree.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:GetFree.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:33, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Here are a few updates in the realm of WikiProject Pharmacology:
- The Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week has been changed to Collaboration of the Month, based on current participation levels. It is also more likely that articles collaborated on for one month are more likely to achieve featured quality than articles worked on for only a week or two.
- The current Collaboration of the Month for November is Receptor antagonist. Please take a look at that article and contribute to it if you get a chance. Ideally, the article should adhere to the featured article criteria.
- Therapies for multiple sclerosis is currently a featured article candidate. If you are familiar with the featured article criteria, please visit WP:FAC and review the article.
- Anabolic steroid is the wikiproject's newest Featured Article, having been promoted on October 8, 2007.
- Theobromine was delisted as a Good Article. The Peer review and GA reassessment discussions provide suggestions on improvement. Muscle relaxant was recently reviewed for Good Article status, but not promoted. Please see the full review full review here for details.
Folklore (signal to trust album)
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Folklore (signal to trust album), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. editAn editor has nominated Steamroller (pipe), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steamroller (pipe) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:14, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

editThank you for uploading Image:Marijlougues.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. editA discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. Five Percenters
editHello--Discussion of The Nation of Gods and Earths came up at Wikipedia:Fringe_theories/Noticeboard#Nation_of_Gods_and_Earths. I don't particularly care about that, but out of curiosity followed the category and found lots of bios with the sub-categories Category:Five Percenters and Category:Former Five Percenters. Clicking on several of the bios there was no material in them to source the affiliation, which makes me think its a wp:blp problem. I removed the "former" tags from the few articles it was in, but then got lazy and don't want to undo something real. I'm wondering if you can clarify things. (I'll post this same message to Jamieli who also worked on the caegory page..) CRETOG8(t/c) 05:12, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Please visit the project's talk page and add your signature to the roll sheet to express your continued interest in the project. Also, if you have not already done so, please take a minute to add your name to the Participants page along with a brief summary of your punk-related interests, so that other project members will be better able to collaborate with you. If you do not add your signature to the roll sheet by November 30, 2008 your name will be moved to our list of inactive members. We may also take the liberty of removing the project userbox from your userpage if it appears there, to prevent you from automatically appearing in Category:WikiProject Punk music members. Of course you are free to rejoin the project and re-add the userbox at any time if you would like to become active in the project again.
Thank you and we hope you will continue to support WikiProject Punk music!
You are receiving this message because you have previously identified yourself as a member of WikiProject Punk music, either because your name appears on the Participants page or because you have placed the project userbox on your user page. As a courtesy, if you have left the project, retired from Wikipedia, or simply no longer wish to be an active project member, please remove the userbox from your user page. This will remove you from Category:WikiProject Punk music members and help the project to keep its active membership list up-to-date. |

Welcoming users
editHi ReverendG, thanks for all your help welcoming new users. I just wanted to say, though, be careful to make sure you're posting messages to their talk pages, rather than their user pages. Other than that, everything looks great...thanks again! Politizer talk/contribs 06:30, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Welcome messages
editPlease do not leave welcome messages on the talk pages of new users who have not contributed yet, such as User talk:Kbtay. You run the risk of scaring users away, and it can be taken as quite patronising for a user who hasn't hit the edit button yet to see a message with 'Thank you for your contributions.' as the second sentence. Articles for deletion nomination of Nerdrap Entertainment System
editI have nominated Nerdrap Entertainment System, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nerdrap Entertainment System. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Theserialcomma (talk) 00:41, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. Back in 2006, you participated in an AfD for this article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Draconity. The article has been recreated, and I have re-nominated it for deletion. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Draconity (2nd nomination). Robofish (talk) 00:04, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Chalicepipe.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Chalicepipe.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. After Midnight 0001 18:44, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Chalicepipe.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chalicepipe.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 18:45, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:AntiAlbum.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:AntiAlbum.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — ξxplicit 03:33, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Cecil Otter
editA tag has been placed on Cecil Otter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
