2013 Queensland floods

Hello Rhain1999.
Saw your comments at Talk:2013 Queensland floods, especially bit about living in the Sunshine Coast. Certainly looks wild-n'wooly from Sydney! Is there any chance that you can (safely!) get any flood pictures for use on Wikipedia? Regards, 220 of Borg 06:23, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Hey! Sorry for the (very!) late reply, but unfortunately I couldn't really get any pictures. The flooding wasn't too bad around my property, and I couldn't really get transport to the areas that were flooded badly. Also, I didn't get round to taking any picture of what little flooding happened around my house. Apologies! Rhain1999 (talk) 06:49, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of YouTube personalities, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Psy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Anchors in episode tables

Please note, edits such as this and this are unnecessary. {{Episode list}} automatically provides anchoring to the "EpisodeNumber" and "ProdCode" felds. To link to "The Shiny Trinket Maneuver", the correct syntax is [[The Big Bang Theory (season 5)#ep99|The Shiny Trinket Maneuver]]. --AussieLegend () 07:36, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

I've cleaned up your talk page header

Hello, I've cleaned up your talk page header somewhat and fixed the links to the archives. Notably, {{Talk header}} should only be used on article talk pages. Hope you don't mind; I was inspired to do this after checking up on a comment I had previously left on your talk page (which is now in archive 2). Graham87 08:23, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much! I don't mind at all. It was starting to annoy me, actually, and I couldn't really work out how to fix it. I'm more into adding information than fixing headers and infoboxes and such. Thank you! :) Rhain1999 (talk) 12:55, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

GAN review of Red Dead Redemption

I've started a review of Red Dead Redemption at Talk:Red Dead Redemption/GA1. As noted in my review I'm still thumbing through it, but please do not wait for me, as there are quite a few issues that need to be addressed, and I only give the customary one week to fix issues once I finish my review. Glad to see someone's taking on such a great game. --Teancum (talk) 13:30, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Red Dead Redemption Original Soundtrack.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Red Dead Redemption Original Soundtrack.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. New Dr Who episodes

Hi there. I see that you've undone my italicising of the New Who episodes. I wasn't aware that this was a specific styling decision; seems odd to me. Where was that agreed? GedUK  11:16, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Nevermind, I've found it. Well, I've found it in the WHO:MOS, just trying to find the discussion. GedUK  11:23, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, it's always been like this. The episodes with more than one part, but grouped with the same titles (eg. An Unearthly Child, The End of Time) are in italics. The singular episodes, or even two-parters with separate titles (eg. "Mission to the Unknown", "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End") are simply quotation marks. There is no specific distinction of the difference with Classic Who and New Who, with Classic in italics and New in quotations. However, every single Classic Who episode (bar "Mission to the Unknown") was either more than one part, or a film (The Five Doctors, Doctor Who); every single New Who episode (bar The End of Time) have been separate episodes, or with different titles. There's a basic explanation, anyway. :D --Rhain1999 (talk) 11:28, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I understand it, but on a page like the one I edited, it simply looks stupid; there's a mix between the two, no rationale why some are in italics and others aren't. It just feels like we're unncessarily complicating it to solve a problem that doesn't really exist. As far as Im concerned, each 'story' should be italicised, be that An Unearlthly Child Caves of Androzani or Midnight. Not sure whether there's any point in raising it again, I'll have to look in the archives again to see when it was discussed last. GedUK  11:30, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
On practically every Doctor Who article (more notably List of Doctor Who serials), the Classic series is in italics and the New series is in "quotation marks", so I personally think it should be kept this way, as it does make more sense. Not only this, but I'm sure the same thing goes for every single television episode. If it's more than one part with the same title, italics. Otherwise, "quotations". --Rhain1999 (talk) 11:46, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
I guess this is just one of those fundamental differences; to me, that same page looks silly with a sudden, unexplained change between the two types. GedUK  11:46, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
That's understandable. --Rhain1999 (talk) 14:52, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Passing your own GAN

I've finished and passed the article. Nice work! --Teancum (talk) 13:07, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Thank you very much, for all of your help! :) But if the article has passed, shouldn't it have the {{Good article}} template in it, so it has the "plus" sign at the top? --Rhain1999 (talk) 13:43, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Grand Theft Auto V

Hi Rhain,

Unfortunately, I've had to keep reverting some of your edits to Grand Theft Auto V, particularly the ones where you add details of the recently-released character trailers. There are several reasons for this, and I thought I'd take this opportunity to explain them to you:

1) They don't actually contribute anything that is not already in the article. Your edits seem mostly concerned with the details of the characters that the trailer reveals, but most of this is already covered in the "Premise" section of the article.
2) They're speculative. You describe Franklin as "seems to be part of a gang", which is you speculating on what the details of the trailer might mean. Since it's not backed up (you're essentially guessing) by a reliable source, it can't be included in the artcile.
3) They're concerned with trivial details. I noticed this when you describe Trevor as seen walking around in his underwear and making a remark on Michael's wife Amanda's breasts. Seriously? He comments on her breasts? Do you really think that's the most important thing to take from this trailer? You wouldn't go into that level of detail in recounting the plot, so why do it for a trailer?

Finally, it's an issue of notability. Just because something exists, that does not mean it is automatically notable enough to be included in an article. This particularly applies to trailers, since without anything to substantiate them, they are essentially advertising, which is not what Wikipedia is for.

If you think there is a case for including the third trailer in the article, then feel free to discuss it, either here, on my talk page or - better yet, since everyone will be able to contribute - the article talk page. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 09:40, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

I definitely see the point that you're trying to make here, (thanks for getting it across so nicely too!) and I guess I agree. I mean, even though my edits concerning some of the specifics and speculations of the trailers was fixed in later edits, I guess the trailers in themsleves aren't necessarily important on the main page. However, something that I'm thinking we could do, is similar to the Marketing for Grand Theft Auto IV article, and make a Marketing for Grand Theft Auto V article. Obviously, it's probably way too early to make this now, but when the time comes, I think it could be made and the information could be included on there. In the meantime, I'll start up a "work in progress" page of it here, and when the time comes we might be able to turn it into it's own page. Comprende? Rhain1999 (talk) 10:49, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for sorting them out didn't realise the MP3 mistake. My brain was in a mess trying to sort out the results of the incorrect moves by the previous user. - X201 (talk) 08:04, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

No worries. I was browsing through the Max Payne 3 article and decided to see if there was any problems in the talk pages, and I noticed that 'Archive 1' had nothing to do with the game. Then I realised that Max Payne 3 is an acronym for MP3, and heaps of the discussion on the 'Archive 1' page was about audio files for computers, etc. So, of course, I changed it. :-) Rhain1999 (talk) 10:07, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

GTA V

Hi Rhain1999,

I just undid your edit on GTA V, sort of assuming it was vandalism. Seeing your user page and edits, can only assume that your edit wasn't meant to unconstructive. Could you please explain why you felt that the bit had to go? A plot summary of your edits is always useful. Thanks, and happy editing. --Soetermans. T / C 20:40, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey there Soetermans,
Thanks for contacting me. The reason that I removed those sentences on the GTA V article was because someone else removed them beforehand. I'm at school right now, so I can't look at the history of the article due to a block, but I believe that the editor that removed the sentences was a reliable and skilled editor who I thought would have been doing the right thing by removing it. However, it looks like you assume otherwise, and that's fine. I've just fixed up the horrendous grammar in the sentence, but I believe that the fact may belong in a different section. If so, I'd love for you to contact me again about this. Thanks again (and sorry for the brief reply; I really shouldn't be editing Wikipedia right now! c; ). --Rhain1999 (talk) 04:43, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I'm back at home now, so I just had a look, and I take back what I said about the "reliable and skilled editor" statement. It seems that it's CloudKade11 who removed the sentences, and it seems s/he is an unreliable editor who should not be trusted, due to his/her ban from editing this site indefinitely! Therefore, I'm sorry that I removed the sentence, as I guess it does belong there and should not have been removed. Thank you for contacting me about it, though! Have a good day, and happy editing. :) --Rhain1999 (talk) 06:09, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi Rhain1999,
Thanks for your reply. I totally understand your train of thought and have made the same error more than once. Good that CloudKade has been put on a block, apparently s/he has been edit-warring quite a bit. Thanks, and happy editing! --Soetermans. T / C 10:40, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi Soetermans
Thank you for your understanding! I'm also glad that CloudKate is on a block. Anything we can do to improve Wikipedia! :) Thanks again. --Rhain1999 (talk) 11:13, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Twelfth Doctor.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Twelfth Doctor.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. LukeSurl t c 21:35, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Twelfth Doctor.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Twelfth Doctor.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

Proposed deletion of Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor

The article Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Although I believe the material on this page was useful, I believe that the page has outlived its purpose. Some of the material that used to be on this page has been transferred to the page Twelfth Doctor. Also, after clicking on the 'What links here' special page, it is evident that this page will very rarely be visited as no other articles or templates link to it.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Grand Theft Auto (series) - Games table

As a regular contributor to Grand Theft Auto (series), I have opened a discussion with another editor that may be of interest to you. - X201 (talk) 08:09, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

References in GTA V

I don't mind if you want to move the reference list in Grand Theft Auto V down to the actual section instead of using citation templates as you go. I don't particularly see the need for it, and I don't really like having to scroll through a long list of references to insert a citation template, so I'm going to use the more commonplace method which is to use citation as you go, and if you want to go ahead and move that into the Reflist manually feel free. I just can't be assed and prefer the traditional system. CR4ZE (talk) 14:46, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

You've made a great point, actually. Maybe I'll just move the long references (like the one about the "highly anticipated") into the reference list instead. I'll come up with a decision later today, and then if I decide to revert my changes, then I will (and keep all of the changes since then. Thanks for your feedback. --Rhain1999 (talk) 01:33, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Invite

Hi Rhain, it looks like you are a very experienced editor about the GTA Series, I would appreciate if you could join us at the GTA Wiki, where you can feel free editing in a Wiki specialized in the GTA Series. In the Wiki I'm an user called Thomas0802. Thanks and I hope you accept this invite! 80.201.35.38 (talk) 21:45, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Hey there, thanks for your invite! Calling me a "very experienced editor" is very nice of you! As for joining you at the GTA Wiki, well I've been editing that Wiki every so often on my account whenever I see little mistakes, and I'd be happy to help over there! Wikipedia is still my home, so it's in my best efforts to continue improving the Grand Theft Auto articles over here a lot too, but I'd definitely be happy to help! --Rhain1999 (talk) 22:57, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

"GTA V"

I reverted your edit back to the earlier revision at Grand Theft Auto V. I know that "GTA V" is an official abbreviation, but the correct way to write an article according to the MoS is to refer back to the full title unless it's excessively long. As such, the full "Grand Theft Auto V" name should be used throughout the article. The only exception to this should be direct quotes from third-party sources who refer to it as "GTA V". I should also point out that including the (insert) in the opening line of the lead section breaks the flow of the sentence which is something you should only do if absolutely necessary, like if you're introducing the birth name of a musician who uses a stage pseudonym.

I'm open to hear your thoughts. I don't want to have an edit war over something trivial. We can debate this at the talk page entry if you wish. CR4ZE (talk) 15:19, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry about my constant troubles on that page lately, I just try and do the right thing and it normally turns out being pretty bad, and I'm sorry about that. I'm normally a pretty constructive editor. As for the removal of the abbreviation, I can understand that it's been removed, and I apologise for adding it back in again. I appreciate your urge to keep the article to Wikipedia's standards, and writing "Grand Theft Auto V" instead of "GTA V" is definitely a perfect example of that. Again, I apologise for my mistakes, and thank you for your continued efforts to improve the article. Feel free to contact me here if you need any help concerning any articles (particularly Grand Theft Auto ones. --Rhain1999 (talk) 22:53, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

You've got nothing to be sorry for. Truly. I wouldn't say that your edits were pretty bad, and I encourage you to keep making edits. It's just in this instance I though the article would work better without the abbreviation. I absolutely encourage you to continue improving the article. CR4ZE (talk) 07:46, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Grand Theft Auto fictional chronology

Hello Rhain1999. While you say I did not provide any reason to revert edits which I actually never did since I made the edits myself without actually reverting that of anyone. Also please carefully read what I am about to say. Under the References section there is a source or link to a Q & A on the Rockstar Games Website. In this Q & A session it is stated in answer that the fictional universe of the games are related to their graphics. So GTA 1 and GTA 2 share the same universe. GTA 4 and GTA 5 share the sane universe. It might be hard to find it but if you go through the Q & A session you will find it. However the universes do not actually have any official names. 2D/3D/HD universe are all fan made names.

Also here's the link to the source ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Grand_Theft_Auto_chronology ).

Here's the text from the source which proves existence of the shared universes based on graphics. El Burro is referenced as he was also referenced in GTA 1, so it felt appropriate that he should cross “universes” – the “universes” are the worlds interpreted at different definitions, 2d, 3d and high definition, so we felt brands and radio / back ground characters would exist in both, but 3 dimensional characters would not. This is the logic (as far as it could be considered logical) behind it – so no, we don’t believe any GTA3 characters could exist in the GTA4 universe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lar409 (talkcontribs) 19:13, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Hey there, I know about the different universes of the Grand Theft Auto series, and how they're not related in major ways. However, I decided to revert your edits because another editor had previously reverted my edits when I changed it back to show the different universes. As a matter of fact, that editor was you. I appreciate that you want to show the universes, and I won't try and stop you any further, but I just wanted you to know my reason. Thank you. --Rhain1999 (talk) 22:11, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

GTA V

Once we have the Plot up, the Premise section could probably just go. All it really does it tell us about the background of the characters, and that can just go at the Characters article. What do you think? CR4ZE (talk) 11:28, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I think that's a good idea. As a matter of fact, I think most of what's written in the Premise section is in the lead of the Characters article, anyway. But, yeah, the Premise will be pointless once the Plot is there.
Speaking of the Plot, I know it's obvious, but if you're playing the story of the game, I'd definitely recommend not even looking at it (even though it's invisible) if you don't want to spoil the game for myself. That's a reason that I'm not going to be editing that article much over the next few days: I don't want to spoil any of the game for myself. I hope you can understand that; I'd understand if you'd want to do it too. Thanks, Rhain1999 (talk) 11:34, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for helping with the Reception section. If you go over to my sandbox, I've started collating some reviews which you might like to use. Even though I've only gone through 6 so far, you can begin to see some familiar points the reviewers note as strengths and weaknesses. Could be handy as you're writing. CR4ZE (t) 15:02, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Wow, you're doing a great job in your sandbox! The amount of effort that you're putting into this is pretty crazy, and I'm proud to be working on it as well. I'm about to head off to sleep, but I'll definitely get to work on editing the Reception section, using your sandbox, when I wake up. (that is, of course, if you don't finish the section yourself.) Again, thanks for your continued efforts to improve this article (not to mention your brilliant work on your GA review for GTA IV!). Rhain1999 (talk to me) 15:30, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Grand Theft Auto V

Hi,Have you played GTA 5 yet.Could you please tell me the release date of pc version of the game.Thanx---zeeyanwiki discutez 08:06, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Hey there! Yes, I have played Grand Theft Auto V, on Xbox 360, and I love it! I've finished the story and my goal now is to get 100% before Grand Theft Auto Online launches. As for a PC release? Currently, Rockstar haven't even confirmed that they're going to release it for PC, therefore a release date has not been confirmed either, however there are many rumours spreading across the Internet saying that they might confirm a PC version soon. Most of these probably aren't true, though. To stay updated on whether the game will release on PC, you can regularly check up on Rockstar Newswire, where they post all of their news, or the Grand Theft Auto V Wikipedia article, which we make sure to update very regularly on any big news about the game. Thanks! -- Rhain1999 (talk to me) 08:43, 28 September 2013 (UTC).

Okay, fair enough. If the game is confirmed for PC, we'll be sure to add the system requirements to the Wikipedia article as soon as we hear of them, so you can check on there if need be. Thanks again! -- Rhain1999 (talk to me) 23:58, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi Rhain, I'm JD3rulo, a big fan of Jessie J, so I was wondering if you could spend your free time in helping me to update Jessie's page, I mean, if you could find reliable sources whose content is about her vocal range and type of voice, and you could include it in her page, I'd be very thankful. If u need some help for editing or creating an article, u can count on me, just let me a note in my talk page. I hope you can help me, bro.
