Speedy deletion nomination of File:Richard Jackson MBE Downing-Street.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Richard Jackson MBE Downing-Street.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Uploading images

edit

Please note that the vast majority of images cannot be taken from online and uploaded to Wikipedia, as this constitutes a copyright violation, which is taken very seriously. If you own the copyright to the image yourself, or if you know the person or the organization who owns it, you or they should follow the instruction at WP:CONSENT in order to release the image for unrestricted public use, so that it may be used on Wikipedia. edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Conservative Voice is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Unspecified source/license for File:Signature of Liam Fox MP.png

Thanks for uploading File:Signature of Liam Fox MP.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. Speedy deletion nomination of Carrie Symonds

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Carrie Symonds, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Just wanted to let you know that I removed the hidden note you placed on 1922 Committee as a blatant WP:LEGAL violation as it is a perceived threat of legal action as a reaction to certain actions and the equivalent of instruction creep.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Conservative Voice, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. File source problem with File:Dananascu.PNG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Dananascu.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AfD etiquette

Just a reminder that everyone gets one bolded opinion ("!vote", as they're often called) per AfD discussion, rather than as many as they like. Regarding Conservative Voice, you've so far expressed the same opinion on three separate occasions, with the two later ones being removed. You're more than welcome to respond to the rationales of other users, but adding in additional keep !votes, whether signed or otherwise, is not allowed. If you have further queries about this, please feel free to respond either here or on my Talk page, but disruptive editing like that is discouraged. I accept sockpuppet allegations and would like to apologise for them. I can confirm that I shall not re-attempt account creation if unblocked and shall ensure all edits are quality. If you look at my contributions, you will see that I have been a user since about 2013, and have made a large number of valuable edits to Wikipedia which I would like to continue. Decline reason:

You have not explained why you decided to abuse Wikipedia's trust. Given how recent your sockpuppetry was, I don't think anyone's likely to trust you in the near future. While WP:SO (waiting at least six months, and other requirements) is perhaps overkill here, I think you need to step back from Wikipedia, take a break, and then come back and explain your actions and why we can trust you not to act that way again. I suggest at least a month without any edits at all, but note this is just a suggestion. You are free to ask another admin to review your block immediately but on the other hand, no admin is compelled to unblock you after only a month away. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I'll also note you have a habit of uploading images with incorrect or dubious licensing, placing the entire Wikipedia project in legal jeopardy. Before requesting your next unblock, I strongly suggest you read WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:FAIRUSE and explain your unambiguous copyright violations. --Yamla (talk) 13:01, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Thepoliticsexpert, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

I am happy to co-operate if i'm unblocked. I will give you details for all those user accounts and my real life identity. But only on proviso that this account (ONLY) is unblocked. Most of the sockpuppet allegations and unfounded except for DavidJones202. So Admins would also get into trouble if not.
You've had the path to unblock explained to you. Because of your outright threats, I have shut down this talk page for six months. That's the soonest you can apply under WP:SO anyway, and only if you stop evading your block. --Yamla (talk) 12:39, 10 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Mike Freer signature.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Mike Freer signature.png.

Thank you. Request reason:

I apologise for previous sockpuppetry on Wiki. I have gone over 6 months without any sockpuppets - I have not used any Wikis for editing/contributing in any way in this time - and would like to apologise for all my previous actions which I regret. I would like to request an unblock because I want to make valuable contributions to Wikipedia again. I was previously unemployed (hence I had time to sockpuppet). I'm now in full time employment so my contributions would be small but of high quality and would do so in my free time but don't worry - I wouldn't have time to sockpuppet! thepoliticsexpert 10:57, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Due to your massive chronic abuse, you are banned rather than blocked, under WP:3X. You are welcome to craft an unban request by following the instructions at WP:UNBAN. Yamla (talk) 13:17, 14 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unban request

Request reason:

I hereby humbly craft an unban request on my own talk page further to the guidance received from administrator @Just Chilling: on 9.7.19 that “Check User has raised no objection to your appeal moving to the next stage. In order to be unbanned your appeal will need to be taken to the Community for a full discussion and there would need to be Community consensus that you should be unbanned.” I therefore humbly ask that the reviewing admin take my unban request to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AN for community discussion along with the following text could be put to the community as my grounds for unban: ‘ I have gone over 6 months now without any sockpuppets - I have not used any Wikis for editing/contributing in any way in this time - and would like to apologise for all my previous actions which I regret. I now understand what sock puppetry is, and so know how to avoid it. I think all the former accounts I created when sockpuppeting have been blocked anyway, but can confirm I have no account on Wikipedia other than this one, and have no intention of creating any others. I will only use this sole account to edit Wikipedia if unbanned, if i’m not unbanned (if I don't receive a consensus from the community for the unban) I will continue to respect the ban by simply not contributing'. Thank you in advance to the admin reviewing this unblock request for your kind assistance with this matter, as well as to Just Chilling and the checker for your help too. Yours sincerely, thepoliticsexpert 21:55, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

Decline reason:

The discussion occurred here. Your request to be unbanned was closed under WP:SNOW; there's no chance you'll be unbanned at this time given your egregiously bad behaviour. Your best bet is to refrain from any further edits for at least two years, then apply again. Yamla (talk) 12:36, 14 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Although you have a typo in your date, your representation of what Just Chilling said is accurate. JC is referring to another CheckUser, Yunshui, and I don't read Yunshui's comments the way JC did. In addition, although any CheckUser can "consent" to your ban being taken to WP:AN, if it were my call, I would not consent.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:59, 8 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Since there was no private information in my CU comment on UTRS I am reposting it here for transparency, so other admins (who may not have UTRS access) can review:
There is a not-inconsiderable amount of activity on the IP range from which this appeal was sent (which appears to correspond to a range previously used by thepoliticsexpert) but given the breadth of that range, this isn't surprising. There's no definitive evidence that any of those users are thepoliticsexpert, but if he told the truth at [1] it's entirely plausible.
"Consent" (or the denial of such) was not intended to be implied; I was simply providing additional information which wasn't available to the previous reviewer. Yunshui  08:14, 8 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have copied your unban request to Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Unban_request_for_Thepoliticsexpert. Yamla (talk) 22:42, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:CV Logo.png

edit

The file File:CV Logo.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Uploaded for Conservative Voice. No other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:44, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
