DYK...? hook nominations
editTo have an interesting fact pertaining to anarchism added to the portal, please follow the instructions below.
Instructions
editAdditional "Did you know" hooks can be nominated here; Portal:Anarchism hooks are loosely based on Wikipedia:Did you know. Please observe the following guidelines:
- Pick hooks in articles that are interesting and are related in some way to anarchism
- Look for articles that are over 1,000 characters in size – stubs are not needed.
- Free images are most welcome; image size is limited to 140x140px.
- The "Did you know?" hook should be mentioned in the article.
- Select articles that cite their sources, particularly the item mentioned.
Once 5 appropriate nominations are added, they can be moved to a new consecutively numbered subpage i.e. Portal:Anarchism/Did_you_know/11 (note: the main Portal's "max=" parameter must be updated to reflect the number of active subpages).

Instructions
editNews items should be added only if they directly relates to anarchism. Old news items should be moved to the archive. Some useful (but not necessarily reliable) sources for anarchist news include:
Anniversaries workspace
edit- P:ANDATE is an automated scan of dates from articles in Category:Anarchism. By searching for a certain date on that page, one ought to be able to find a number of events to include as anniversaries in the portal.
- The Daily Bleed Calendar is a useful resource for finding additional events. Note that the portal is for anniversaries directly related to anarchism only, whereas the Daily Bleed has a wider scope.
Instructions
edit- Red links indicate days which remain without a single anniversary.
- {{Portal anniversary}} should be used to format entries.
- Entries should be no longer than a single sentence. In the event that an extra sentence is required for context, utilize a semi-column to connect each. Allow the subject article to provide details for the event. Entries for subjects which lack an article (red links) may provide increased details as an incentive to research and create articles for the subject, but must be properly cited.
- Use only images made available through WikiCommons. Images should be no larger than 100x100px, unless a given image requires a larger size for increased clarity. Limit one image per date.
- Anniversaries of birth dates for deceased individuals should indicate the date of death after the individual is named (e.g. "1886 –Elise Ottesen-Jensen (d. 1973) born.") As date of birth is indicated by entry date, a birth date is redundant.
- Anniversaries of death dates for individuals should indicate the date of birth after the individual is named (e.g. "1881 – Louis Auguste Blanqui (b. 1805) dies.") As the date of death is indicated by the entry date, a death date is redundant.
- There is no limit to the number of entries per date. Each entry is listed in chronological order from earliest at the top, to those most recent at the bottom. This creates a chronological list, with the intent to provide context in the unlikely event that related entries take place on the same date.
