1. Frequently, some pages transcluding {{Admin dashboard}} are going on overflow and appear at Category:Pages_where_post-expand_include_size_is_exceeded.
This Template:Admin dashboard/light has been rewritten by including directly all the parts that were dispersed in so many sub-templates.
  2. The "leaks out boxes" error has been fixed.
  3. Pages RFPP and UNFAA are simply linked (i.e. not transcluded) when too busy

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Thanks for this, @Untamed1910. Pinging Alexeyevitch, Canterbury Tail, Knitsey, Pickersgill-Cunliffe, Frost, ScottishFinnishRadish, Mackensen: all of you were among those reverting that IP. They created 19 sections over the course of three hours with the same off-topic accusation against an editor. Next time, if you've got the tools, please semi the noticeboard. If you don't, please don't wait until it's already been reverted a dozen times before posting here. (RFPP requests are very easy in Twinkle, which you can enable in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets if you haven't already.)
Also, thank you for keeping an eye on Wikipedia. Most of these were reverted within a minute or even less, and I really appreciate it. WhatamIdoing (talk) 16:39, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

edit
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

edit
Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

  • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
  • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
  • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
  • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
  • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Autopatrolled

edit

GnocchiFan has made 5,000+ edits this year alone including seven Good Articles. They make extensive use of WMF Library to improve sourcing and prose. I believe they are both an excellent editor and also communicator, evident at sensitive article topics at 1984 anti-Sikh riots and Gender and sexual minorities in the Ottoman Empire. In short, let's reduce NPP backlog by giving them auto-patrolled status. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 12:11, 20 September 2024 (UTC)

Also worth mentioning GnocchiFan created 84 non redirect articles. One article was deleted Sophie Ottaway 8-months ago. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 12:25, 21 September 2024 (UTC)

Seems to be an experienced content creator whose creations are no longer in need of input from NPP. They don't have a clean record of their articles being kept at AfD, but the last deletion was a year and half and 60 articles ago, and looking through a random sampling of their work since then doesn't reveal any major issues. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:50, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

Meets minimum criteria, only one article out of many created has been deleted (in 2015). Mach61 23:06, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

Created 55 articles, none of which were deleted, including BLPs. I believe granting the AP flag to this editor will benefit NPP reviewers by reducing the backlog. GrabUp - Talk 16:00, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

I saw my username on the Wikipedia database reports and found out I was eligible for the autopatrolled privilege. I've made lots of articles about Indian politicians recently and will continue to do so in the future. I'm a trusted user with lots of rights including NPP and fully familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I also have the redirect autopatrol pseudoright, and I'd like to request the autopatrolled right in order to reduce the reviewing workload of new page patrollers. Thank you, Waqar💬 20:02, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

I have almost 25,000 edits, of which 98.9% are still live and have created 49 articles of which only one has been deleted, and that was a naming error on my part. I am a member of New Page Patrol as of September 2024. I am familiar with Wikipedia guidelines for both creation and deletion of articles. I would like to request autopatrol rights. Confirmed

edit

The reason i wanted to ask to be confimed is that i was on the MF DOOM page and noticed that his name wasnt capitlized, he has stated many times in songs and other media that his name is spelled with "all caps", eventhis spotify page is capitlized so i was planning on correcting it but needed to either be autoconfimed or confirmed and i am sending this request for that reason. Mlsfcx (talk) 11:58, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Not done – Hi, and thank you for creating an account to edit Wikipedia. Although I fully understand your desire to dive right in, many of our articles are semi-protected because they are controversial, prone to vandalism, or other reasons. As a new editor with few edits, it might be wise to discuss your edits on the article talkpage in order to gain consensus for your edits, and then use {{Edit semi-protected}} to request the edit be performed. I only recommend this until you are used to the challenges of reliable sources, the biographies of living persons policy, and other similar policies. The good news is that fewer than 5 percent of Wikipedia articles are protected; this means that more than 95 percent of the articles can use your help right now! stwalkerster (talk) 12:47, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

File mover

edit

I am requesting file mover rights because I have experience in handling and maintaining various file types and I believe my contributions to several files and my various file rename requests as seen in the editing history here showcase my understanding of the naming policy for files. File names are often a decent part of my contributions with film and television-related articles, and carrying out these renames to satisfy naming conventions rather than having to request them every time a file needs to be renamed would prove beneficial in their up-keeping. Page mover

edit

I often move poorly-titled pages to more appropriate titles, usually to make them more WP:CONCISE, specific, neutral, or to correct spelling and transliterations. I also revert undiscussed moves in line with WP:RMUM. I would greatly appreciate having the ability to manage this myself. Skitash (talk) 21:43, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

I'd like to get this right to delete unnecessary redirects (i.e. move pages over existing single revision redirects regardless of target). Additionally, I would also like to try to harmonize some pages of Spanish municipalities with the name of the province (when necessary) instead of other subnational units (such as comarca). Moreover if a double denomination exists in some cases, I shall use the slash with spaces in between to enhance visual effect of different linguistic nomenclatures. However if an English form is more relevant I shall use it instead of double and local denominations. Other than that I could help elsewhere to move pages if necessary. Thank you, Nuvolet (talk)

Pending changes reviewer

edit

Hello hello, I have been a Wikipedian for well over 4 months now, and I feel that I have learned a great many things about the site in terms of editing, content, policies, and conduct that I could have never imagined beforehand. If given this right, I humbly commit to using it to the utmost competent and fair / legitimate nature that I possibly can. Thank you Aliy Dawut (talk) 02:52, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

I have been contributing to pages for three years now, with prior experience in patrolling edit filter log. I would like to get reviewer rights so I can contribute to Wikipedia in more ways than I am able to, presently, and help with the backlog. Since my last request in July, I've been making a track record of communicating collegially with other editors, in my talk page and elsewhere. I hope you'll consider me. Thank you. — ‎‎‎hhypeboyh 💬✏️ 23:11, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

I've been doing RC Patrolling (as a part of Anti-Vandalism) on Wikipedia for a while now, and I think that having the Pending Changes reviewer permission could be a good idea - there have been numerous instances involving a pending changes edit that I look at while looking through Special:RecentChanges that i wanted to accept/deny/etc, and i feel that this permission would be beneficial for my efficeincy. DM5Pedia 04:34, 22 September 2024 (UTC)

Hi! I believe that I'd be a good Pending Changes Reviewer, as I have a good amount of time on my hands, and can do monotonous tasks, like denying obvious vandalism, and the like. I meet, what I believe are all the requirements for this right, and humbly ask to receive this privilege. Thanks in advance! Legendbird (talk) 09:06, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights: I am an Wikipedian for more than three years and part of various wikiprojects I need permission to expand my works on Wikipedia and also to observe Wikipedia articles. Cactinites (talk) 15:28, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

I have been reviewing semi-protected, extended-protected, and COI edit requests for about a month, and having the right to review pending changes would allow me to extend my reach in this topic. I have also been countering vandalism for 5 months, and I have the rollback right. — BerryForPerpetuity (talk) 07:50, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

I have been patrolling recent changes since 8 August 2024 and reverting edits there too. I think I'll also be a good Pending changes reviewer too. PEPSI697 (💬📝) 05:59, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

Not done for the same reasons that your rollback request was declined. Elli (talk | contribs) 01:22, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

I've been editing since 2015 and primarily work on articles related to politics and history. I have experience with reverting vandalism, verifying content complies with policies like V, NPOV and BLP, and I think I can help maintain the quality of articles like those in my watchlist by reviewing pending changes, which I've successfully requested for pages at RPP multiple times in the past, including in August 2021, May 2023, this January and this August. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 22:07, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

Hi! I've been using Wikipedia on-and-off since 2020, but I'm starting to become more active. Rollback

edit

I have been working to revert vandalism for some time now, mostly patrolling Recent changes. I have used Twinkle and RedWarn to revert vandalism and warn vandals. Rollback rights would make it easier for me to revert obvious vandalism. Thanks. Charliehdb (talk) 10:57, 28 September 2024 (UTC)

I see that you are failing to consistently warn editors when you revert their edits (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Why? It's important to leave a notification for every revert you make. Are you aware that we have tools such as Twinkle or Ultraviolet that make this extremely easy? -Fastily 08:27, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
@Fastily: Thanks for pointing it out. I assure you that I will warn all vandals from now on. I hope you give me Rollback rights. Thanks. Charliehdb (talk) 12:40, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
Please ensure that you are always leaving warnings. I can't stress enough the importance of not biting the newcomers; if you find yourself reverting good faith edits, then it's especially important to notify the editor. If you don't want to leave a template warning, that's completely fine, but you do need to leave a talk page message explaining why you reverted the edit. Moving forward, could you please make a promise to leave warnings/notifications for every revert? -Fastily 01:08, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
@Fastily: Offcourse, I will leave warnings/notifications for every revert. Charliehdb (talk) 13:39, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

I have been reverting edits and warning users by patrolling recent changes for almost two months now. I have been using Twinkle to revert edits but manually warned users. I have consistently warned users most of the time after reverting their edits. I have been patrolling recent changes since 8 August 2024. I think getting Rollback rights would make it easier to revert edits or vandalism. Thank you. PEPSI697 (💬📝) 05:49, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

Not done I'm truly unimpressed by this. You should know better than that, given how long you've been editing. Rollback is an elevated permission that is only granted to editors with a good understanding of our policies/guidelines. Based on your actions today, I'm not convinced you meet this bar. -Fastily 01:08, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights: I have achieved 200 mainspace edits and I am ready to be on Wikipedia's Anti-Vandal task force! I can use tools like AntiVandal, and of course continue to use Twinkle and Ultraviolet. I love patrolling Recent Changes and cant wait to join this exciting opportunity!  Not done You've only made a handful of reverts since your previous request was declined. I'm sorry, but that's just not enough experience for me to determine whether you'll be able to use the right appropriately. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 01:08, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
Thank you, I will see this page in about a month or so. Cooldudeseven7 (Discuss over a cup of tea?) 11:27, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
